Привет! Это Наташа. Hi! Welcome to my channel.
My name is Natasha and I'm here to help you to learn the Russian language
and to know more about the Russian culture and mentality. Давайте начнем.
Today you will learn how to say in Russian what languages you speak, what languages you don't
what languages you speak well or just a little. Let's start with the names of the languages.
Again, unfortunately, I can't name all the languages in this video. In my previous video
dedicated to countries, I created a list of countries with the help of YouTube analytics.
So, today I will name languages spoken in the countries from which I have views.
Plus some more popular for learning languages. So, let's look at them.
The word язык is masculine. So, most of the names will receive the ending
И, a masculine ending of an adjective. Such words we can use both with the word язык and without it.
For Иврит and Урду, we don't add the word язык. Let's practice.
Match the country and the language or languages which are spoken there. These are the names of
the languages. When we want to say that we speak a language, we need to modify it a bit.

Pay attention. We pronounce
And we can do the same with Иврит and Урду. It's time to look at the second option.
We will use the preposition на plus prepositional case.
Or simply
Same pattern for the other words.
Иврит will receive the ending Е. And Урду is an indeclinable word. We don't change it
through the cases.
You can also add some more information. Whether you speak a language excellently,
well or just a little. Probably, you already know many of these words.
Another word for a little is чуть-чуть. You remember that we don't have a strict word order
in the Russian language. But it's better to put
чуть-чуть on the second place in the sentence.
Я отлично говорю по-русски. Я хорошо говорю по-английски.
Я немного говорю по-немецки. Я чуть-чуть говорю по-итальянски.
Я не говорю по-китайски. And we also can ask
Or formal
