Let’s meet tonight’s guests:
JOHN DI DOMENICO
While you may know him best as the award-winning Donald Trump impersonator, John Di Domenico is one of the busiest and hardest working corporate entertainers and character actors in the United States. John specializes in thoroughly evaluating his clients’ mission, objectives, and goals, and then strategically customizing his highly unique brand of powerful content-driven comedy to specifically fit his clients’ production.
BRANT PINVIDIC
Brant Pinvidic is an award-winning film director, veteran television producer, C-level sales and presentations coach, keynote speaker, top-rated podcast host, and a columnist for Forbes. As the founder of Bluefish, one of the top personal concierge services, and an expert marketer within the luxury industry, Steve has been quoted in various publications & TV including the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, London's Sunday Times, South China Morning Post and many more.

Chris Van Vliet is a 4-time Emmy award winning TV Host, Entertainment Reporter and YouTuber based in Los Angeles, CA. He has traveled the world reporting from events like the Oscars, Grammys and the Cannes Film Festival.
You may be familiar with the interviews that Chris posts on YouTube but to just call them “interviews” doesn’t seem fair because they are so much more than that. Chris dives deep into interesting topics with his trademark conversational approach that makes it feel like two old friends catching up. This is the case when it’s a wrestling superstar like John Cena, The Rock or Hulk Hogan or a Hollywood A-Lister like Oprah Winfrey, Tom Cruise or Will Smith.

The Simply Vegas family of companies also includes Clear Title, an escrow and closing company, and Precision Mortgage.
Prior to his career in real estate, John was a successful entrepreneur building and exiting successful businesses in the hospitality, insurance, and tech spaces. [Music]
welcome to the first ever edition of
dinner party
this this first segment is called ice
breakers this is just letting everybody
in the audience get to know who is here
at the dinner party likely what will
happen is somebody will see that you're
here and they follow you but then they
don't know Chris or they don't know
Brandt or they don't know John or they
don't know the other John and same for
everybody here so we're gonna go through
and ask some initial questions we've
already kind of been through some intros
if something you know stands out to you
feel free to have a follow-up for that
person but I'm gonna go ahead and go
down the line all right John D Domenico
it's two Johns a little confusing though
all direct okay John D Domenico first
time you realized you were good at
Impressions when I was five years old
doing it for my neighbors on the Stoops
in Ambler Pennsylvania and they were
laughing they actually laughing they
were actually laughing at a
five-year-old kid yeah imagine a
five-year-old kid in front a bunch of
adults smoking cigarettes since 1969 I'm
like now
right here on our shoe
really big show The Fabulous garbacho
brothers and also we have for Brooklyn
Girl Scout Troops 625 girls stand up and
show us your cookies
and they burst into laughter and I was
like this is it this is all I want to do
it
all right Brandt you produced a
documentary about Facebook yeah back in
the day what year was that that was
2016. okay so still when social media
was kind of on the rise
pre-tick-tock pre a lot of the other
pretty ones
what freaked you out the most about
Facebook I think it was the idea that it
would expose who I really was like I had
a very specific Persona and being a
Hollywood producer I got to be able to
craft that and it was very important to
me and Facebook felt like the wild west
that everything about me would be on
there and I would be able to control it
did you scared the crap out of me did
you actively not jump onto the platform
for a while yeah I actually liked being
the person that was like I'm not on
Facebook I know what I'm doing like it
became a little bit of my shtick right
like I got to be it was a good
conversation piece and I was too cool
too cool for all that kind of stuff what
year did you crack well what happened
was I did the movie to explore Facebook
and I actually set out to do a Michael
Moore expose like I'm gonna expose how
terrible it is yeah and show my son why
I didn't want him on it but every time I
came up with something that I hated
about Facebook like all Facebook could
cost you your job you know because
you'll say something stupid well it
turns out Facebook is the number one job
recruiting site in the world and it was
like oh well it could cost you your
marriage and your relationship well it's
like it's the number one dating site in
the world people my cousin's actually
met on Facebook and so as I went through
I realized like maybe the problem isn't
Facebook maybe the problem was me and
the and the movie sort of turned into
that and what I did is I created this
Alter Ego it's like well if I if I was
on Facebook why would I be me I'd be the
coolest person in the world so I made up
Steve Steele The Man of Mystery I'm
gonna create this whole Persona with him
and he had all these great pictures that
I photoshopped and all around the world
doing all this crazy stuff
and he got very popular and people loved
him and they kept sending him messages
and my production team started to notice
that I was on Facebook quite a bit as
Steve Steele doing a lot of stuff so
that's when I sort of realized it's like
oh yeah maybe the reason I was staying
away from it because I knew I would be
like sucked into it into the black hole
Vortex yeah so I became I was Steve
Steele for a long time until finally I
was like okay I guess I could let you
know it wasn't a surprise love it
Chris Van Vliet you have interviewed
when I tell people when I tell we've
talked about partnering together on you
know helping people start to interview
shows and every time I set it up I'm
like so I've interviewed all of the
business people in the business world
and I go Chris has interviewed literally
everybody else and it's almost not even
a joke at that point you've interviewed
The Rock Margot Robbie Steven Spielberg
like the top names in the entire world
who intimidated you the most oh wow
Samuel L Jackson is so intimidated
really because you ask him a question
and then he just kind of stares at you
for like maybe it's a second or two but
it feels like an hour so you ask him a
question and it could be the most simple
question in the world and he'll just
kind of stare at you like just like the
character and then he'll go and you're
like oh my God never doing another
interview this guy again anyway well
it's a really good question and you're
like oh my god oh so it's the fact that
he's like staring this hole through you
the whole time you think you really
screwed up right and that's just who he
is and I think that I think there's like
a little bit of him that like kind of
like plays on the fact that like he
knows he's Samuel L Jackson yeah he
knows he's an intimidating figure
and he just plays it up a little bit
John Gafford you were a contestant on
The Apprentice fired on live television
by our 45th president how did you land
The Apprentice oh how did I get that gig
um bullshitted like a mother trucker to
be honest with you that's where it
started
um my sister called me and basically
said go try out for the Apprentice with
me and I said I have no interest in
doing reality television you were you
were a business owner at the time I was
a business owner at the time and she
called me and said go let's go try out
and I didn't want to go and then we went
and you went to the open call and then
they at the end of the table they said
we want to talk to you again and then it
just kept calling me and you know the
creative you know the competitive juices
kicked in if you will and they narrowed
us down to 50 people and they took us to
they took the top 50 of of I guess it
was two million people tried out for
that season I know it's a weird odd
number but I guess that's what it was
but they took us to the Embassy Suites
in in Santa Monica it was the top 50 and
they didn't let you talk to each other
so everybody had their own room they put
you through a week of like IQ tests and
then interviews with psychologists
interviews these people and you would
see the room start to dwindle because
the only time you'd be around they
locked you in your room and you would go
to the dinner and lunch and breakfast
and there'd be one person at every table
and you're just looking around everybody
else right and you start to notice
yesterday there was more people here
there's less people so it gets to the
end of the week and um Mark Burnett who
was a producer comes in and it was all
the NBC brass was there and so your your
Handler they call themselves fluffers
comes down and goes okay
we're going upstairs to talk to
everybody they want to interview it's
fine so I walk upstairs suited and
booted ready to go walk in the room big
double doors and top floor all the NBC
brass is there brunette sitting there
he's eating eating M M's how many people
probably 15 to 20 in the room and like a
15 20 on one on one yeah and he's
sitting and he's sitting in the middle
of all of them and I walk in how you
doing Mr my name is John Gafford I stick
my hand out and he's eating M M's and he
just looks at my hand and just puts an m
m in my hand right and then proceeds to
we do like an interview thing and it did
not go well because the problem was I
was I'm there I was trying to get a job
so here I am touting all of my genius
and all of the Great accomplishments
that I had and this guy wants to tell me
that well according to this we talked to
your best friend Rick Wells and he says
your girlfriend's about to dump you
that's what he wants to talk about so it
just did it went poorly so I go
downstairs I'm like well that was that
was a good run start packing my stuff up
because I figure I'm one of the next
casualties and then about an hour and a
half later the fluffer guy comes down
and goes hey they want to see you again
I go all right hang on a second I go if
I'm going again I'm going how I want to
go give me a minute and I go to the mini
bar open the mini bar wrap it open
walk upstairs we get to the doors and I
kick them as hard as I can band doors
slam open and everybody in the room just
jumps and I walk in I look at Mark
Burnett and I said
before you say one more [ __ ] thing to
me let me tell you why you shouldn't we
should put me on your little television
show I said you invest in me you get
back a hundred times what you invest and
I pulled a bag of M M's and I'd stolen
out of the mini bar I threw him on his
[ __ ] face I said thanks for the m m
and I walked out and that's how I got on
The Apprentice
the fluffer guy goes amazing that's
awesome that's all I got on
Brandt can you give us some some uh you
know color coding here for like behind
the scenes what are people looking for
well when you're in a reality TV room
like we touched on something really
important like he wanted to go get the
job nobody in that room cared about his
job application skill whatsoever it's
like hey we have a structure for a TV
show but I need crazy stuff to happen
every week to go to the next week and
that's what people don't understand
about TV is like one episode doesn't
work you need something to happen every
episode that people need to come back
the next week that's really hard to do
so when you're looking for characters
you're looking for Flaws in the general
system that they can exploit and where
is the fly in the ointment where is the
sort of nitroglycerin that we can shake
up and they're not looking just at John
they're looking at the foil that they
met three days ago that they know if
they put those two in the room it'll be
like oh that's going to be magic right
and so you could have everything that
they want but if they don't have a foil
for you or other pieces it makes it more
difficult right same thing with the
Bachelor and The Bachelorette like
casting that show is yeah it's like
who's pretty and who's gonna be
compatible but it's like who's not going
to be compatible like if they don't have
those story lines and surprise surprise
every season is the exact same right
same storyline because those storylines
no it's the craziest season yet yeah but
it's like those storylines are the same
and so proper is it the same in movies
they're in sames in drama it's the same
as you know La law that's the same on
every show has the same story lines and
reality do they use the heroes Journey
on The Bachelor is that the same is that
the title path they usually use them
it's like who's the one and and what a
lot of people just don't understand is
how much is constructed after the fact
right like oh god you watch the show and
you're like I I don't think I said any
of that it's like well you said those
words in some in some order somewhere
that night when I got when I got fired
from that show they showed me my episode
in the NBC press secretary's office
before it aired I picked my chair up and
threw it in the wall you're like what is
this I'm like what the f what the what
was that yeah and I was like they're
like and I gotta tell you and I tell you
that was that was the problem with with
that particular show when I was on it
that was the problem
was the first season of that show I
thought was magic yeah right because it
was like because it was like dude it was
like it was like a horse race where you
everybody had favorite horses and the
horses ran and that was it and then
season two came along and that Omarosa
chick showed up and when Trump fired
everybody in America hated that woman so
much that when Trump fired her American
went yay Trump and all of a sudden Trump
was like hmm if they hate the person I
fire then I'm magic
and so every subsequent season was they
had to vilnify every single person that
that got clipped and that's what that's
why survivor's still on the air and
that's not well I agree it's just so
hard because what they don't understand
is like it's not a reality tell you it's
not a documentary we're not trying to
document what happened we are creating
entertainment that's it so it's like
yeah I need you to act the way you act
and do what happens in the real moment
but then the story producers and the
editors and the producers go back there
and be like how do we create a narrative
storyline it's like if you didn't say
exactly what I want that's fine because
you'll say words that I can we call it
Franken biting or we chop them up and
move them into different areas so I can
make you say anything I want and that's
what we need to do not because I'm
against you or against you or for you
it's like I need to make this as
compelling as possible all right Steve
Sims okay so you it's it's interesting
because everybody here has had a lot of
run-ins with a lot of really really high
level people and yours is very
interesting because it's not necessarily
it is the A-list celebrity crowd a
little bit but you have done business
with heads of state and presidents of
countries and things like that what were
some of maybe the weirdest requests that
you got in your concierge business from
these types of people with this type of
money I'm a member one guy that was
trying to get this deal with another guy
in New York and I'm very glad this is
not being recorded and he um he knew
that the other guy literally was
addicted to porn
so he got this yacht we we handled all
the bookings and everything he got this
yacht in Miami and had probably about 30
of at the time the top porn stars in the
industry on this boat and this guy was
down there at a family reunion or
something and was like Hey I I if he
contacts this guy and he's like hey I
wanted to talk to you about business
come and join me on my yacht and he
joined them on this with all of these
guys and he got the deal
[Music]
we had some client ask us that they
wanted a dining experience in Florence
and one of one of the trademarks of me
and my company was the and it was
actually the book you know shallow plug
for the book I'd just done a new book
called go for stupid and that used to be
the motto 15 years ago so people would
come to us and go hey I want to I want
two front load tickets to The Journey
concert
you know that new Revival concert we'll
be like okay how can we make this stupid
and we'd come up with a stupid idea and
we'd end up putting them on stage and
they would sing three Tunes with the
band and we did this so we had this guy
one of our one of our one of the big
things that got us out there was uh we
have this client that wanted a dining
experience in Florence to show how
connected and Powerful he was to his
fiancee and his mother and father-in-law
so um he wanted a dining experience in
Florence and it's you kind of trip over
good food in Florence so that wasn't too
[ __ ] hard so we wanted to see how far
we could take it
um and we always start at the top fail
and work our way down yeah but we didn't
fail on this time and we ended up
getting the Academia the Galleria Museum
that houses Michelangelo's David set up
a table of six at the feet of David So
at nine o'clock at night he walks into
his own museum string quartet Tuscan
Chef makes this beautiful meal and then
when he gets to the main course I said
to him I've got a local Entertainer that
wants a seven age while you eat your
pasta is that okay I'd have been [ __ ]
if he'd have said no but he turned
around he said yeah that's fine Steve so
I bought in Andrea Bocelli to 7am join
his pastor and that was that was one of
the things that caught a lot of
attention and we got well known for
doing stupid [ __ ] so
stupid [ __ ] that's the next book how
impressed were the girls
how impressed were the girls
go with this but the funny thing was
it's a strong movement so yeah exactly
so is anyone has anyone been to the
Academia the Galleria so the downstairs
is where there's these massive great
blocks where Michelangelo would practice
on a marble floor and then at the end of
the corridor is David
so it's all marble on a marble floor not
the best Acoustics in the planet
so when I actually walked out holding on
to Andrea Bocelli to guide him to his
position and his son was on the piano
this the the future wife dropped her
fork and this thing freaking lasted for
about an hour it just seemed to go over
again
really annoying but the mother and
father-in-law just glided bearing in
mind she was Miss Colombia
so they never had a lot of money now
they're with this guy and that just kind
of like kind of mind like this all the
time just the fact that they were riding
around in like fancy cars just did it
and now they're having photographs on
Andrea Bocelli say it was a cultural
shock was an understatement and I'm glad
this isn't being recorded and I don't
care now man but when Andrea and uh well
Veronica actually said yeah we do it
um we're gonna do six Tunes you know
what do you want you know what had to be
she said um you know what do you want I
thought well I have I have two options I
either I either asked a client what he
wants you know Andrea to sing or I found
another misses and pick our favorite six
hits and just do it for us so that's
what we did so I founded my wife and I
went what's your favorite sex then you
know and we just we got these chins and
uh we did it do you have kids I have
three do you want them well I'm about to
I'm about to be a father for the first
time congratulations yeah thank you do
you have money now
I just want you to remember this moment
what oh geez
yeah wait if you guys are both here
who's looking after your kids so that's
a good question
they're going Lord of the Flies yeah it
doesn't matter they're gonna grow up and
hate you I I had a moment where so I
interviewed the rock for Black Adam like
10 times right now and we had just found
out that we were having the baby and we
hadn't even really announced this to a
lot of people and I said what a moment
it would be if I could get parenting
advice from The Rock
and I said to my now wife I said to
Rachel I said would you be okay if I if
I told the rock that we were having a
baby before we told our parents and
she's like yeah of course yeah
absolutely another reason another reason
to marry this woman she got her
priorities straight I said are you sure
she's like yeah like we can hold that
clip until like we announced her I said
of course we can and it ended up being
this like Mom we're pregnant I don't
want to play music
right on top of each other it ended up
being a great moment yeah it ended up
being a great moment that went viral and
like like I got teared up because I
hadn't really said this out loud like
I'm gonna be a father for the first time
and start tearing up and The Rock's like
hey man against this big hug gives me
all this great advice and uh I then I
left there and I was like I can't
believe
I can't believe that I was able to get
away with this I didn't tell my parents
till like six weeks later it was a great
authentic manufactured moment yeah
is authentically manufactured says the
king of reality television yes
who manufactured it
authentic moment
that's the way life is what can you guys
give me some uh some dad advice no great
great no no we've been breeding kids for
what millions of years still when no one
has a [ __ ] idea what's going on
listen the only thing I would say is
that of all the things I did wrong with
the kids but the the big one is that I I
became
as invested in my own joy in being good
at parenting and providing experiences
as I was at the office so I used to
match that intensity like if you think
about what your day-to-day life is it's
not fun like do you like sitting on a
computer do you like talking on the
phone no you like the results that come
from that you like the victory you like
setting up a Target knocking it down you
like to keep score those are what
particularly men like in the office
environment we like to win we like to
feel like we have something to achieve
and a lot of times we only feel that at
the office and our home life becomes
sort of a break from that and that's why
as you get older and more successful
it's harder to stay at home easier to
stay in the office all your life and so
what I was able to do was really focus
on if I was going to if it was a
parenting contest this weekend who had
the most fun with their kids like how
would I feel like I won that weekend
right and so I made it a like a contest
and see how many experiences I could do
with the kids how I could make you know
interesting memories with them and I
started getting that pattern and it
became sort of where we're at and so
like my daughter is going to go on this
year-long trip around the world with me
at yes it's crazy 52 countries 52 weeks
that's unbelievable and I think it's
just because that's 20 24 we leave it
yeah yeah so that's why I would say like
that's just who you are though that's
who you are of like how can I one up
like I think it's like you got to make
it you gotta do it what you naturally
want to do which is almost make it a
contest you want to make it something
that you can win and do well at you want
to be recognized even if it's just
yourself for being great and that's I
think in parenting if you're just doing
it to get by it becomes difficult and
it's a strain and it's extra if you do
it as like yeah if you do it as a like
almost like a contest and I used to do
when I take the kids to the beach my
wife hates the sand we go to the beach
and I have three kids under five years
old and I'd be like if Jeff Probst from
subscribers yeah I heard you tell this
story I guess when I was researching I
heard you tell this sorry Mike he said
yeah like if he popped out and was like
Brad four hours here's the contest four
hours in the pan of the beach you got to
get them fed you gotta get them clean
you gotta get back home everybody happy
every one of us would be like oh yeah
I'm to crush this right yeah but yet you
don't you don't create the contest
mentality in your mind usually but when
you start learning to do that more often
you can sort of make that across all
things and I found parenting for me was
pretty good at that so I have a question
because your kids are a little older
than mine yeah like you want to get a
little forward like my biggest fear in
life being somebody that I would
consider successful and and we we you
know we're blessed in the fact that a
lot of the things that we've done in
life have paid off in in with with money
and we can do kind of whatever we want
to do and my biggest fear in life is
always the quote that tough times raise
great men and soft times raise soft men
and and that's my biggest fear so you're
a little further along because like
that's only like when my kid I'll never
forget my son was like six he had an
opinion on airlines like we flew
Southwest somewhere and he looked at me
at six years old it was like is Delta
not fly there like why are we taking the
bus at six years
and it's got it here's the thing my kids
are my kids just straight A students
they're they're athletes they're they're
great kids they're great kids but my
point is it still scares the [ __ ] out of
me and it should yeah but I will say
this my son did we had that moment too
when he was saying he wanted to be a
teacher and I think it was 15 or 16 and
my wife was trying to we were in our
bedroom we're in bed and chatting with
him and my wife said sort of like you
know cautious well Kayla you got to look
at what your lifestyle what you want to
live like and you know teachers they
don't make a lot of money but that might
be something you want to think about for
the future and he goes like this he goes
well I don't need all this
wow I had the same exact experience I
had the same exact experience because I
was talking to my son who said I the
same thing I said well buddy because he
was going to be an architect and I said
well let's look at starting you know
let's look at what that pays you're
going to be a grunt working a big firm
you're not going to start building
skyscrapers that's not how life works
and we kind of broke it down he's like
and I said to him I go well you want a
house you need this and it started
showing the numbers the same thing and
he goes well I need a house like this
that's right so he said and I was like
that's not the way I grew up you know
yeah me neither and he said to me when
we were in the car we're driving the car
and he said so we were talking about
something he goes well I'm never going
to be as successful as you so what does
it really matter
and as a dad you're just like I don't
know what I've done you do make the
trade-off right you make the trade-off
for you know my son is kind and he's
generous and he's wonderful and we have
an amazing relationship so I didn't I
woke up every day trying to make this
kid happy my parents did not wake up
every day trying to make my so like you
trade that off yeah but I will say this
he went into college to be a philosophy
major because he wanted to be a
professor of philosophy which is like my
wife and I were like okay well we lost
this one but like you know we'll get the
next one we were just like hey we got
this one slipped away but I will say
this over the last year as he's gotten
older and more things of real life have
started to creep in now he's on an
entrepreneurial bed I love that because
he's like he's seen the other side he's
like yeah I want to make a bunch of
money now like I need to do this so he's
all now he's doing all this
entrepreneurial stuff the philosophy
thing is like that might be a hobby but
is he aware of like Ryan holiday someone
like that who's taken the philosophy
thing
11 best-selling books and courses and
has actually taken that
he was definitely in that mindset yeah I
was just like hey that's the cost of
what we as parents at this age and this
generation are creating we aren't
creating a lot of Steve Jobs I don't
feel like that right my kids are never
going to do that they're not going to be
Elon Musk and I think the world still
needs those people who will sacrifice
everything in their lives just to get
ahead just to create the next thing just
to find something great in the world
like my kids I don't think have that
drive and I think it's because we didn't
and so let's force that into them how
many people at this table were born into
money
how many of these people
have events like this or go to
entrepreneurial events or go to master
every single one of us start taking your
kids to all of these kind of events
because you just look at this table
imagine if any child could be sat at
this table
communicating with all these guys with
just those little pieces of information
the Nuggets that we spoke out on there
we could sell that for 10 grand worth of
coaching
so do try and get your kids to go to
this many events do you think the
entrepreneurial world will advance over
the next years or decline is it going to
be easier for the Next Generation I feel
like there's a yeah there's a lot more
entrepreneurs now yeah like this this
wasn't even something it was talked
about when I was in school friend of
mine in the 90s it was a bad word if you
were an entrepreneur in the 90s you were
self-employed yeah you couldn't get a
job you were selling stolen audio out
the back of the car yeah it's like with
everything else there's
25
000 comedians now at a certain point in
time there was maybe a thousand in the
entire United States working comics and
now everyone's a comedian because of
social media there's so many
entrepreneurs there's so many people
doing all of this stuff there's so many
people who are Peak performers and will
train you to be a peak performer it's
it's really it's like exponential the
barrier of Entry is certainly a lot I'm
gonna correct we talked about that today
much lower I don't think there's more
entrepreneurs I think there's more
entrepreneurs I think people look at
people and again we spoke about it
earlier
the awareness levels much higher every
single one of us is laid in bed not
being able to worrying about paying the
bill on Friday every single one of us
right so they see the other side they
see the glory they see the Accolade they
see you being able to put a table
together like this and they go I want
some of that and they they think they
can do it until they suddenly realize
they can't do [ __ ] but the side gigs
when I was 15 years old was mowing the
grass or shoveling the snow or selling
grass or snow
now now the side business is like you
could start a Shopify store or you could
uh have a podcast so many more so many
more I hosted an nft event in New York
and we had a panel of five kids all
under 13 who were all making money
online one had made over one million
dollars in nfts wow I was I I was like
and these kids are smart and they're
articulate and they understand
the business they're in and they
understand nfts and they understand and
I was just blown away I'm like kid you
know I'm I'm a little probably older
than everybody I was just amazed by
where they're at now in their lives
because I I couldn't there's no
equivalent of that when I was a kid I'm
60 years old so it's you know he's like
when I was 10 was any was any kid on the
cover of a magazine because they
invented something like it just wasn't
happening yeah but I can see Mo now they
can jump on it
yeah the exposure is going to be there
when your child like I remember I've got
three kids my youngest one was grown on
a touchpad you know from from you know
my own we didn't have touch pads we had
to push the bloody dials or even some of
us had a you know ring the whole bloody
number so things Advanced think
technology opportunities come I think
opportunities are going to grow and the
whole mindset of you get a job you work
the entire job you get a pension and you
retire those days are dead yeah but we
need those people but but I'll say them
but I'll say 80 of the planet works for
20 I'll say this as well in 20 years
when our kids are grown
the most valuable skills will be the
ability to connect with people on a
one-on-one basis because
these kids today are just right here
they're all on their phones all day long
and the amount of dopamine that that is
jumping through their heads is
eliminating the ability to grind through
adversity or see obtain long-term goals
in those skills people that can do that
are going to be so few and far between
in 20 years it's crazy so I would say
and it's very difficult to do
but try to limit screen time as much as
you can and try to try to Foster an
environment where physical personal
connection is more important than
anything else
you know personal connection with people
because that those are skills that will
not exist in 20 years
[Music]
I thought it'd be kind of fun we have
the number one Trump impersonator in the
world sitting at the table right so
um I want to know step by step
somebody's watching this they don't know
who you are they don't know who we are
somebody's watching this step by step
how do you do a good Trump impression
well the way you do any impression is
you figure out where the voice is being
generated from in the body so you know
Dr Phil was more like you're press
you're pushing it out you know what I
mean but it's in the back of your throat
with someone like Trump you think about
his throat placement because it's kind
of a little bit Gravelly
right
and then you think about the Northeast
nasality because the whole North I'm
from Philly lived in New York he's very
nasal
then you think about the vocal
production of the sound where it's
coming from because he does something
unusual he goes up and down like that
and then when I was researching his
voice I was thinking who else is from I
think I'd mention this who else is from
who else is from Queens New York
well that's Christopher Walken wow
Travis you know this dinner wow so I
thought you've got that well the
staccato is there and then I always I'm
talking about Groucho Marx and some of
you you probably you know probably
everyone knows but Groucho talk later
hello I must be going I came to say
again I'd say I must be going so I was
thinking about that sing song in there
so if you wanted to Trump the best way
to do it is oh and the Secret Sauce in
any
oppression any impersonation is what is
that thing what is the secret sauce
about them and Trump it's absolute
confidence doesn't matter it can be on
the Titanic it could be going down and
said this is tremendous where the first
ship that went down here did you know
that the first one did you see what we
did to that Iceberg we destroyed that
Iceberg
destroyed it absolutely ruined that ice
cream
terrible people the icebergs
so think about you know whatever voice
you're doing where it's coming from in
them you know like is it is in the back
the throat the front of the throat you
know the enunciation it doesn't matter
you know someone like Bill Clinton his
voice he talks until his lungs are empty
hey how you doing good to see you
[Laughter]
and he empties his lungs when he just
keeps talking and talking and talking
and talking he gets that vocal fry hey
how you doing
you know my favorite is since I was you
know I always loved Colombo folks I hate
to bother you oh is he had a little bit
of New York in there when he talked he
was a little confused
I always I always thought that was like
the best and the one eye wow wow look at
that
Mr Trump what do you think of dinner so
far it's been absolutely fantastic I
like my chicken fried which is okay but
I don't like broccoli I don't like
broccoli I don't like any vegetables
actually if we can put this whole thing
on a bun it would be fantastic you know
we have great food at Maryland
you hear a lot of different performance
for you Travis as soon as you get a
haircut and shave the beard off hey
he was on the show did you know that no
one talks about that
he's embarrassed
wow oh that's great
um Chris uh I want to finish my food
here so your host you ask a lot of
questions oh one chance to get to know
everybody this evening
go around the table
ask everybody a question
about the back story that you know about
them now too oh my gosh
we talked about so many great things off
camera too well when we rolled up here
we couldn't help but notice your
Maserati in the parking lot yeah uh
what's the story behind that honestly
people look at it it's it's it was a
great hedge at the time this is when
inflation was really starting to go
hyper like crazy so I was trying to dump
as much money as I could out of bank
accounts into assets I like it I thought
would appreciate I um I invest in a
private jet with a friend of mine so I
owned a dassault Falcon 50 uh jet uh for
a year I had it for one year put my
money in made money on it we sold it a
year later got out which was great but
really I was just using all these really
these really high-end assets like my car
like the jet the kind of hedge inflation
that was really the whole point of it
and uh and the other car is worth more
now today than it was when I bought it
and
hopefully knock on wood that will
continue did you hear that kids planes
and exotic cars are assets get in early
whatever you heard right the right no no
there's an answer to that because by the
way also race horses
right the planes are right the planes
are right up here okay they have to
understand when you buy a private jet
right if you go buy a private jet today
it's not like you buy a private jet and
you can fly it out of the jet you can
just fly it off you can't you have to
stabilize the plane by hiring Pilots by
sending them to school to learn to fly
that jet and then you put it in a
charter business so when we bought it we
bought a plane what we sold was a
business that was operating a charter
business so yes it was an asset that's
the difference we bought we bought we
bought a depreciating asset and sold a
business yeah yeah that's what we did
okay Steve with everything that you've
done is there anything left on your
bucket list now
the funny thing is there never was
um I always used to say that the
business I was in was not the business I
was in I didn't give a [ __ ] about flying
around and doing all these things I just
wanted to know how I could go from being
a broke ass biker in East London to
having money to be able to afford
maseratives whenever I wanted so I did
what I did to have conversations with
these affluent people now I would like
to just continue to do what I do have
meals like this but I'm probably one of
the dullest people you've ever met I
totally disagree with that that is a lie
I mean that's what I was thinking
I mean do those people at this table yes
that I've ever met yeah
all right Branch with everything that
you've done what's the TV show that you
pitched that you thought was an
incredible idea third one and somehow
they turned it down damn it
that was in my question the one that
missed a good one the problem is I have
so many of them that it's hard to pick
one it really is so I would say two big
ones two big ones one was called the
secret Bachelor
which was you don't know you are the
bachelor I've got a girl who wants to
find a certain guy we pick you you think
you're just auditioning for something
else hidden camera and then we program
her with everything that we know you
like you like pro wrestling so she's got
a pro wrestling magazine in her purse
when you meet in the elevator and we
stop the elevator you're stuck in the
elevator like we orchestrate the whole
thing and the idea was could we
manufacture sort of love if we give her
every piece of information about you and
what you like can we do that right and
so we taught a pilot it was spectacular
spectacular it worked so well and fox
didn't end up doing it which I thought
was crazy and it bothers me to this day
that that show is not on the air so John
not only are you the number one Trump
impersonator in the world it's
tremendous
don't do that again
I appreciate the attempts I had to
you've you've done it for Trump you've
worked for Trump yeah give us your best
Donald Trump Story the best Donald Trump
story at least for me was it's not a TR
it's not where I'm playing Trump I was
playing Austin Powers I was co-hosting
his his birthday in Atlantic City and uh
we're backstage and I was going to do a
bit with him where I pop out of a cake
bring all these dancers up on stage it
was just you know it was going to be a
great night and they brought me into the
Green Room a lot the band was there and
all these people a lot of activity and
somebody with a headset comes over and
says hi John um Mr Trump will be in here
in about 15 minutes when he gets in here
we're gonna have the director go over
everything with the cake and just when
he comes in don't shake his hand okay
and I was like okay baby it was already
in Austin so I mean yeah baby no shaky
shaky
so it was fine and like five minutes
walked by and then another PA came over
and said did anyone talk to you yet Mr
Trump will be here in about 10 minutes
and when he gets here you'll go over
everything but just do us a favor it's
like can you shake his head and
okay so now we're now like he's
literally outside the door and you can
sense like you the guy has Charisma and
like you're literally sensing he's
outside the door another PA comes over
and says
um uh Mr Trump will be in in one minute
when he comes in the director and all of
you are going to just go over the whole
bit with the cake and the dancers but
when he comes in just do me a favor I
was like dude shake his hand and you're
like yeah don't shake his hand he's not
he's kind of a germaphobe I said I
totally get it baby don't worry so then
the door opens up there's a room full of
people but he looks right at me in my
Austin Powers blue suit and the teeth
and the glasses and he looked I mean he
goes right to me and I'm in like one of
those couches like back room couches and
I'm kind of sunk down on the couch when
he comes over and just got a trip
oh
and he's standing over me and he's a big
guy and his hand is right in my face yes
his head is right in my face and I'm
sitting there and this is like 99 2000 I
forget what year it was but I'm sitting
there I've been instructed by three
people not to shake his hand it's here
it's literally right here and everyone
leans in like an old EF hunting
commercial goes Shake It Up
so that that was the whole bit and then
wow the director went over everything
and rehearsed we had like 24 beautiful
women I jump out of the cake the crate
cake cracks open I jump out yeah baby
happy Birthday Tony
I I take my 12 girls take his 12 girls
we all go up on stage we do a big kick
line it all goes great and Trump's up on
stage and I didn't even tell you you
know we're up on stage and I'm obviously
you know impersonator comedian and then
he goes everybody this has been such a
fantastic evening and I want to thank
everybody there were a lot of
celebrities there local celebrities the
cast of Sopranos was there and he says
and everybody this is Mike Myers he
doesn't do this for anybody but he
dressed up for me because he loves me so
and everyone's like it's like five
and trying to get off stage everyone's
trying to get my autograph and I'm like
I've got it I'm trying to get out of
everything he knows I'm not Mike Myers
we did a rehearsal I'm on my you know
and I just thought that was like that
was him encapsulated you know it's he's
telling people I'm Mike Myers I'm
obviously not Mike buyers I thought it
was hilarious yeah dude well done on the
questions man oh you finished your food
I'm all done I'm not gonna ask him about
what the Barry Gibb look-alike contest
you have one more question
foreign
[Music]
yes we've been we've been filming and
requests
this whole thing's gonna leak out to the
press the fake news it's gonna be lots
of bleeping the game is Cards Against
Humanity
[Music]

brought to you by Cards Against Humanity
available at your neighborhood store new
at TGI Fridays it's what you've been
waiting for the foul vegan shitsburger

assembling Ikea furniture it's like
fried skill that's a that's a lot of
envious skill that could have been in
the movie
you get the gift it was rigged I knew I
had that one wait if we just tell the
camera we're gonna win they can edit it
so it's like I've got this one yeah well
you didn't think of that did you right I
wasn't looking at the right camera
experience Chris the sequel is here get
ready for some light choking too a real
dumpster of a saxophonist
also solid you imagine the guy all the
girls
yes a real dumpster of a saxophone how
are you gonna have this yeah it feels
like a movie called cancel culture they
invite us all to a party right I see how
many people I can eliminate
it's brand new show canceled
they're gonna say a bunch of [ __ ] up
stuff and now we all get cancerous about
to pop out here at any second you've
been canceled no seriously you're all
cancer that's an SNL skit waiting to
happen
although they could probably do that
quickly and funny so they won't do it
yeah okay it would actually be fun yeah
that might actually be funny and you
could do that it's getting about two
minutes so they wouldn't want to do it
