Cole LeBrant is what can only be described as an internet sensation. He is a 24-year-old
social media star from the small Alabama city of Enterprise, with an impressive portfolio
of viral videos and vines. With his cheerful personality and endless energy then, he has
managed to gather a big following online. LeBrant first made a name for himself in the
short-form video network Vine, where he used his cheeky personality to create hilarious clips.
He also used YouTube as a platform to make a promposal video that went viral in early 2015.
In that video, LeBrant was shown lip-syncing Selena Gomez songs in a bid to get the star to
agree to go to his prom with him. Sadly, he didn't achieve his goal of a date with Gomez,
but his stunt certainly succeeded in getting his brand out there.
And not only is LeBrant now a huge internet figure, but he also remains a proud Christian,
regularly mentioning his faith online. So, when LeBrant married his girlfriend,
fellow virtual star Savannah Soudis in July of 2017, he wrote on social media,
"'Today's the day I marry my best friend. Lift us up in prayer as we become one. May God be glorified."
Since then, the newly married couple haven't stopped making virtual content
and have set up a joint YouTube channel, Cole and Sav. But it's something LeBrant filmed
just before his wedding to the Californian that's caused his fame to skyrocket. Indeed,
he made the video and uploaded it to his Facebook page, and before too long, the internet exploded.
So, it all started when LeBrant decided to make a video featuring himself
and Soudis' daughter from a previous relationship. Little Everly is only four years old in the film,
which is titled, When the Music Changes You, and there's something about the adorable
daddy-daughter dynamic in the car-set clip that's taken over the internet.
The video kicks off with the two of them sitting in a stationary car, being filmed by a dashboard
camera. LeBrant is at the wheel while Little Everly is sat in a car seat in the back seat.
She says, "'Hey, Dad, wanna listen to the radio?' He agrees and presses a button on the car
to set in motion one of the funniest videos the internet has ever seen.
Indeed, what happens next is so unexpected that the viewer can't help but laugh. The music starts
and suddenly the dad and daughter appear in a hilarious array of silly accessories,
including bright pink feather boas, headbands, and gloves. They dance along to the song
enthusiastically, lip-syncing the words in a truly hilarious fashion. Once they've performed
a few lines of the song, though, the video makes a jump cut. This time, the soundtrack is a gangster
rap jam and LeBrant and Everly have switched costumes to suit. Both sport funky headbandanas
as they mime and make ghetto moves as though the pair have just stepped out of a music video for
the song. The sequence is softly followed by a country tune and the two have morphed into cowpokes.
They cornily lip-sync their way through a few lines of the song in their neckerchiefs and cowboy
hats before the video once again jump cuts to a brand new piece of music and accompanying costume
change. So after the short deviation into country territory, the radio starts blasting out the
One Direction song, What Makes You Beautiful. This prompts the daddy and daughter combination
to begin jiggling about enthusiastically in the car while wearing backwards caps and sunglasses.
Next, the video takes the viewer on a trip down Mexico way with the folk song La Bamba. Everly
and LeBrant suddenly appear in sombreros, enthusiastically shaking their maracas along
to the beat. Their breakneck fast take on carpool karaoke is still not over though.
There are even more song excerpts to come before the video comes to a hilarious conclusion.
When the music eventually stops, LeBrant and Everly are shown in silence, looking completely
bedraggled and confused. And with her hair all over the place, the girl turns to her stepdad and says,
what just happened? LeBrant then slowly turns to face the dash cam and says, I don't know,
looking completely flabbergasted. And so concludes one of the cutest videos
the internet has ever seen. The clip is only one minute and 20 seconds long,
but it's a short and sharp burst of energy guaranteed to make anyone watching it
smile. Following its online release, the likes, shares and comments for the film unsurprisingly
began to roll in. In fact, the clip's popularity totally snowballed and it's now been viewed more
than 30 million times. With an excess of 470,000 shares and over 30,000 comments,
it really is the video of the moment. LeBrant has also commented beneath the film, encouraging
people to tag their friends and share it. He's done that in the hope that he and Everly might
catch the attention of producers at the Ellen DeGeneres show and be invited by them to share
the eponymous star's stage on TV one day. But there's been no LeBrant appearance on the program
so far. But the buzz around the video certainly hasn't died down. Indeed, a deluge of comments
have praised LeBrant for his creativity as well as Everly for her cuteness. Unfortunately,
this is the internet after all. Some people have also taken the opportunity to criticize LeBrant.
Yes, some people missed the funny side of the video because they were too concerned
with Everly's car seat. One Facebook user commented,
Secondly, her chest clip is too low. But other users reminded the worried poster that the car
is not moving in the video and that there's therefore little need for such high level of
concern. Still, the issue of the car seat ended up causing a heated discussion online.
Why does the seatbelt matter at all if the car isn't even moving? Like, come on,
no one can make a cute video without being criticized for something ridiculous.
One commenter vented in response. Meanwhile, another simply wrote,
Shut up and enjoy the video.
The vast majority of the reaction was positive, however. Comments such as,
You're the best daddy and she's adorable. I am just giggling with joy were common, for instance.
Perhaps then it's only a matter of time before we see LeBrant on mainstream TV programs
such as The Ellen DeGeneres Show. One thing is for sure, though, we haven't seen the last of him.
