Hey, hey, hey. Well, we're on Vancouver Island and guess what? We've got a ride treat for you. We're gonna have a look at some of these RVs. Now, we're at a place called Arbutus RV Sales, and I don't even know if I've pronounced that right. But I've got a guy here who knows a lot more about it than I do. So this is Chris and he works here at Arbutus. Did I pronounce it right? Close. Arbutus RV Marine Sales here on Vancouver Island. And how many of these RV sale places have you got, Chris? There's six of us. So six locations all across the island and seven service locations all serving our customers. And what sort of RVs do you sell here? Do you sell a bit of everything? A little bit of everything. So A-class, B-class, C-class, fifth wheels, toy haulers, travel trailers, truck campers. Kind of got it all. New and used? New, used and consignment. And consignment, so for if anyone doesn't know what a consignment means, it basically you sell on behalf of the owner. That's exactly right. Okay, so we're really excited to have a little look around. In terms of if a British person wanted to come and buy an RV, would they be able to buy an RV here? They could, depending on where they want to put it or how they want to use it. But certainly there's lots of options that way. Would they need an address here before they purchased? If they're a cash purchase, probably not. So you can own something physically here and leave it here. You'd have to have something set up with the landowner or storage place, but absolutely it's a possibility. So I've just been talking to Chris there and he reckons the Solitude are an amazing brand. And they're built to such a high spec that Winnebago took them over. Not to change them, I hasten to add, but because they thought they were such a great brand, they wanted to be in with that. I'm going to show you around this one. You won't believe this fifth wheel. So a quick look at what we're looking at. This is a new 2025 Grand Design Solitude 380FL and it's up at $176,790. That's about £100,000. OK, as you enter, it is absolutely luxurious. I mean, look at this. It's got an island and apparently they're really robust as well. Well, this is a really, really unbelievable kitchen. This oven, look at that. It's a proper oven. That's as big as my one at home. This is the kitchen. It's huge. And a little dinette here as well. Gary's outside, look. Then up here, we've got the living area. So this is the living room area. You've got one, two, three sofas. You could sit two people on them very comfortably. A fireplace, I dare say that pops up and is a TV. It's really luxurious. Oh, my gosh. This is lovely. This is absolutely luxurious living. He was saying that a lot of people are looking to be full time and that's the main reason that they like these sort of vans. These solitudes are really popular. So when you're up in the living room, you can see down. As you come through the door, your main area is your kitchen, which is absolutely stunning, to be honest, with a massive fridge. And then your bedroom area is up there. Let's go and have a look at that. Just before the bedroom area, and there's a couple of little steps up, is a little bathroom. So it's just a toilet, actually. Really nice little vanity sink there. That's lovely, that is. That's a cupboard. Yeah, beautiful. But there's cupboards everywhere. There's no sort of space left unturned, if you will. And they're really quite roomy as well. That's a little wardrobe. And then you can see that there's wardrobes all over one side of this wall. Another TV. And then the bed. That's a big bed as well. That's easily a king size bed. Windows all around it. So it just feels really light and airy. Oh, my God. Look at this bathroom. That's crazy lovely, isn't it? Double sink. All these cabinets as well. Another toilet. So you've actually got an RV with two toilets. Oh, wow. That's a bit like an airing cupboard. You'd fit everything, all your bedding in. It's got another rail as well. And this is the view of the Solitude from the bathroom. So as you can see, it's pretty roomy as I'm walking through it. Lots of windows, lots of mirrors. Beautiful finish. This is a gorgeous, gorgeous fifth wheel. So we're in one together. And good old Max waiting patiently for us there, aren't you? There's a good boy. You stay by the step. He's been brilliant. Right. So what are we in, Gary? So this is a Thor motor coach. It's an LC28, which 28 would normally say the length. But actually it's a 30 foot one. So I'm not sure why that is. So what did you think of the cab area? Because it's quite roomy there, isn't it? It's really roomy. Looks really comfortable. It's an automatic gearbox as well. So that makes it a lot easier to drive. And this one's got a slide out, hasn't it? This has got a slide out there. The whole kitchen and dinette sort of slides out. Wow. Massive TV. Another dining area. And how much is this one? This one's £181,000, but £140,000 in today's sale. £140,000. So this is about £80,000, I think, or thereabouts, isn't it? Proper oven. Yep. I love it. What's this on here? Look at that. That's different, isn't it? Oh, I thought. Yeah, look at that. That slides over as a sink cover. Let's have a quick look at the bedroom. Here's the bedroom. It's a step up, so okay-sized bed. It's a normal double and effectively just cupboards all the way round. And then your bathroom is here. So your toilet is on a plinth again. Nice shower, though. Lovely touch there so you can put your toiletries on. Very big cupboard. Wow. That's huge. Had to stop filming because it took some opening to get that cupboard door open. Tiny sink, though. Tiny sink for tiny hands, but literally that is my hand. I do not have a giant hand, and it fills the whole sink. I have a small hand. And what I have noticed, actually, in this one, is it's designed for the modern man who doesn't like to waste energy. So when you sit on the toilet, you can reach into the fridge for a beer. Oh, God, Gary. If you touch anything while you're in the toilet, that is it. Well, I might have to touch something. So there's an awful lot of stock here, isn't there? I mean, we certainly can't show you around everything. We'd be here all day. But look at the range. There's just so many vehicles here. Now, obviously, you can go onto their website and have a look, and you'll be able to find out what they've got on here. It took me a while to figure out what was what because they're all called something different. So you've got your fifth wheel, which is basically something that's towed from the flatbed of a utility vehicle. So the hooking point is on the top. Then you've got the trailer, which is like our caravan, which is at the back. You've got a toy hauler, which is like... What's a toy hauler? So a toy hauler is like the big fifth wheel, like I said, is towed from the center of the back of your vehicle. Right. And in the back of that trailer, it's got a huge garage to throw your toys in, like your quad bike or your... A toy hauler, right. I get it. And then there's campers, which are those things that are... It's just the box that you then fit on top of your truck, your utility vehicle. Have a look in here because this is a second-hand one. It's a 2012 Majestic C-Class motorhome. It's on a Ford chassis, which is the F350 engine. Now, they want 49,000 for it, which is actually not too bad. It's quite solid. It's about 25 grand, isn't it? It's about 25 grand, yeah. It's a 2018, but it's an ex-rental, isn't it? It's a 2012. A 2012. So this is kind of similar to the one that we're going to rent. So let's have a quick look in here then. You go up the steps, straight away, you've got a little dinette. Right, wowee. Let's just talk a little bit about this. This is a bit unusual, isn't it? So they've brightened it up, they've jazzed it up a little bit. It might not be to everybody's taste. But you know what? It's quite fun. And there's a few stickers on where these guys have taken it. Crikey. It's been a few places. It's done 198,000 kilometers. So it's seen a few things. It's got a gas hob here. Very nice kitchen, actually. And a microwave up the top. And the bed is a French bed. But it's open. It's very close to the sink. So, you know, it's okay. Nice and easy to get in and out. But there's another sink here, look. That's obviously for your bathroom. And here's your bathroom. Oh, look, it's a throne again. So we've got your toilets on a plinth. It's all right, you know. It's seen some use, that's for sure. And here's the view right from the toilet, looking back at the van. You can see there's a bed up the top there as well. It's all right, this one. I love those stickers around the place, actually. And they've obviously put a little bit of vinyl here. Quite a bit of room in the cab. But I do not like the material on there. It's kind of a nylon. And also the material on the chairs is awful. Really awful. So you'd really have to cover them, I think. When you're stateside, they have these massive A-classes. And we're going to have a quick look in this one here. Right, first of all, check this out. So when you open the door, the step automatically comes out. And here it is as you go in. Wow. This is lovely as well. And there is an oven on this one. But let's have a check of the price. So this one's £159,990. It's a 24 model, but it's brand new. And it's beautiful. They're just so big. For a start, this is where you are driving. And honestly, it's absolutely massive. Such a lot of space with that console there, look. I think this must come up. Not sure how that comes up, but I don't want to break it, obviously. So looking down the RV, you've got a nice dinette here. Sits four very comfortably. But there's also a sofa on this side. And then you've got your kitchen area. The kitchen's got a double sink, which is a nice little touch. Got a cupboard under here. And it's got a little oven. I think it's more of a grill, if I'm honest. But it might double up as an oven. And you've also got a microwave, kind of convection one here. Pretty little cupboard here with a glass panel on it. The fridge-freezer is absolutely enormous. It really is. Let's have a look inside. Yeah, it's a good old size of that fridge. And the freezer's pretty big. Going through, you've then got the bathroom. Here's the shower. It's separate, obviously, to the toilet. But that's actually really nice. It's not bad. Let's have a look at the toilet. Oh, it's on one of those throne things. I'm not keen on them. But then again, it probably looks about the right height. It's not sticking out. Sink's nice. Really nice little cabinets as well. Here's your bedroom. It's got quite a large bed, actually, I would say. That's a good size double. And then you've got cabinets all the way around the room. It's a nice motorhome. And here's the van as you're sitting on the bed. It's got plenty of room, really. So this one behind me is a Thor Motor Coach. It's a 2024 model. And it's up at £155,000, which is about £86,000. So very comparable to the price of the new motorhomes in the UK. So going in, you've got two, three steps up, to be honest. And it's in a beige interior. So we'll start with the driver's cab. And you'll have to excuse the noise. We're right on this road. You can see it's on the main road running through Vancouver Island here. But there you go. Look at that. That's a massive drink section. It's a really comfortable seating area, isn't it? I think that's quite a nice touch. It's like a fold-down table here. So if you were sort of a passenger driving along, you could be doing work or having something to eat or anything. I think this one's a little bit more plainer than some of the other ones we've been looking at. So you've got an almost marble-looking top in the kitchen. And the kitchen is just one area. Then opposite, you've got a wardrobe. You've got a really comfortable-looking sofa and some cabinets up the top. And then towards the back is your bedroom. Well, it's not marble itself, but it's certainly hard-wearing. But it is plastic by the feel of it. There is a microwave by the look of it, not an oven oven. And then here we go. Two gas rings. Now, this wouldn't appeal to me as much as the other one, to be honest. Much smaller bed. It's got one of those little fridge beds. So here's the bathroom. It's alright. As you can see, the toilet's again on a plinth. I'm not keen on that design. The shower's okay. It's got like a fake brick-looking design. But it's got a very big tray, to be honest. It's a good old step up onto it, though. Fridge freezer's quite big. But it's quite high off the floor. I'm not so keen on this one. I mean, don't get me wrong. If somebody gave me it, I'd be happy to drive it. But this one doesn't have the same vibe as the last one. It is a cheaper price, though. But it's still a nice motorhome. But it's definitely a lot smaller than the last one. This is quite a nice one, isn't it? This is lovely, this. I quite like this one, don't you? I do. This is lovely, this. So what have we got here? So this is a 2012 Jayco Greyhawk. Believe it or not, it's got just over 33,500 miles. That's it. And go on, how much is it? This one is $69,888. So that's what, just under 40,000? Just under 40 grand. This isn't bad, I tell you. Okay, so you might find the colours a bit off-putting. But look at the front. That's very comfortable, isn't it? Oh, somebody's found his seat. Looking at the front, it looks really comfortable. Is it as comfy as it looks? It's like sitting in a sofa. It's lovely. You've got a bed, I think. Is that a bed up the top there? It looks like a double bed, doesn't it? It is, yeah. Got a couple of these cupboards. It definitely has that sort of old-fashioned look. You've got a nice sofa there. You've got a really nice, comfortable dinette. And this is your fridge. It's in the dark wood again as well. Let's have a look. Let's have a look what's inside. Oh yeah, it's in good condition, to be fair. Very good condition. I like this kitchen. It's got a double sink, which I really like. Many of these models seem to have. Is that an oven? Yeah. It's a grill, I think. And there's a convection microwave oven. I like this little corner kitchen. And then, here we go. This takes you to the bedroom. So, before you get to the bedroom, you've got the bathroom. And this is really quite fancy. It's a bit Dallas, if you ask me. So, you've got the toilet there, which is fine. Absolutely great. A nice little corner shower. I kind of quite like this, if I'm honest. And then a little sink here. And it's got two entrances into the bedroom. This one from the toilet. And it's also got a little TV up there, look. Cabinets all the way round. And here is your wardrobe, which is open. This little door that goes straight back around into the hallway. I think if you're in the market for a secondhand model, I don't think you can go wrong with something like this, do you? I don't either. This is lovely. I think this is great. I mean, I would probably do something with a bit of the decor. But you know what? Liquorpane, anything. You could really revamp this, really modernise this. But you've got low mileage and it's really a good price. It's a lovely motorhome, isn't it? Gary and I might buy it. We wish. We're going to have a quick look in this trailer. It's a brand new one as well. And it's around about $90,000. So, that's about 50 grand. So, it's four steps up, isn't it, Gary? Wow, wow, wow again. It's a bit of a wow factor as you walk in, isn't it? It is, isn't it? This is lovely. Oh my God, it smells amazing. OK, give us the gin, Gary. Right, so this is a 2025 Grand Design. It's called the Reflection model. OK. It's 33 feet long and it's a travel trailer. So, in other words, it's hooked onto the back of a car like a caravan is. Really? It's amazing. Look at it. Look at the size of that microwave. Proper oven, Gary. Yeah, feeling that. I really like this because your sink is on your island. And there is, I think there must be cupboards around there. Do they open those cupboards underneath there? That's drawers and cupboards. Oh, they're a bit unopened, Gary. Let's have a look. Oh, that's very nice. Solid wood as well. Is it really? I like this. It's a really beautiful design. There's some electric sockets there. There's a fireplace here. Obviously a TV. Then a couple of cabinets up here. Fridge and freezer are a decent size as well. Yeah, they're lovely, aren't they? Yeah, look at that. Let's have a look at the bedroom. OK, the bedroom is not too bad, actually. That bed is not a French bed. That's more of a good size double. Plenty of cupboards all the way around there. I quite like this, actually. Do you? I do. There's a lot of cupboards here, isn't there? Yeah, that's a good size bed, like you're saying. I'd fit on that quite easily. Let's have a quick look in the bathroom, Babs. Oh, toilet's on the floor. Oh, gosh, I'd break my neck getting in that all the time. The only thing with a really steep lip like that is they are a bit of a trip hazard at times, aren't they? It's a nice modern, lovely modern bathroom, to be honest. It's a gorgeous design. Do you think it feels a little tiny bit flimsy? It looks amazing. It really does look nice. But then when you actually start touching it and feeling stuff, it feels a bit... I wouldn't say cheap, because cheap's the wrong word, but definitely flimsy and not solid. It's not as solid as that other brand that we looked at earlier, was it? That fifth wheel? No. Well, here's a little cutie. Let's have a look in this new Gemini. A couple of steps up as you go in. This is really different, because as soon as you walk in, there's the door there by the kitchen. You can see everything. There's the bedroom at the back and the dinette. So how much is this one? This one is £149,900. So that's about £70,000? £78,000? Yeah, about £75,000, I think. Yeah. I mean, it's OK, but I think it feels small now, maybe because of some of the others we've been in. Yeah, it's a 2022, this one, a Thor Gemini, it's called. Oh, so it's not a brand new one? It's not a brand new one, no. It's in good condition. Yeah. There's the toilet. It's on the throne again, and the shower. It's OK. It's a bit snug. But here's the bed. I mean, it's right beside your dinette. I mean, that's OK. I mean, if you're really stuffed, you could just roll straight into bed, couldn't you? There's a bonus to everything, isn't there, Gary? Well, there is. You might as well just eat in bed. This wouldn't be my favourite. It's OK. How many gas rings? Oh, two gas rings. No, I'm not mad on this one. So back in real time, we are currently at our house sit in Salt Spring Island. But we are heading over in a couple of days. Once this goes out, we will have left this house sit. We're heading over to Vancouver because something special is happening, isn't it, Gary? It is. So we're heading to Vancouver to pick up the RV, which we've hired for five weeks. And the plan is to head down into Idaho, across to Montana, up into Canada, and then do all the Rockies, because that's where we didn't do, or the States and the Rockies that we didn't do last time when we brought our own motorhome over here from the UK.
