We have had the first coffee of the day,
which means the vlog can officially begin.
Welcome back to the channel.
Day one, proper day one.
We arrived, actually, this is day two.
Day 1.5 slash two in Krakow, Poland.
We've just been enjoying our breakfast
at the Radisson Blu Hotel where we're staying.
I mean, I had no idea what to expect
for breakfast this morning.
It's kind of, obviously, when you travel,
some bigger hotels, the breakfasts are kind of similar,
but often they have got local things within the breakfast.
So there was some, I mean,
there's a lot of cold meats and cheeses,
there's some frittatas, there's a lot of pickles,
and more interesting stuff than you get
at a hotel buffet breakfast
that we'd experience in England, for example.
If you watch the channel regularly,
you know that I've been one to moan
and complain about hotel coffee,
but this actually tastes great.
♪ So hard to see ♪
♪ From the moment ♪
What is it?
Get him down, run in, Coates.
Have fun, darling, see you later.
We'll pick you up in a few hours.
So the hotel is, where is it?
I've lost it, there.
Well, you can see, there you go, there.
And the park, it's like a two-minute walk away,
so very handy.
George, don't jump him off.
Sorry.
Don't ever jump on the hotel.
Okay.
Okay, all wrapped up today, it's zero degrees,
and I don't know, I don't feel too cold.
I feel like I've come prepared this time.
In Romania, I had a cold coat,
like my coat wasn't very good.
I've now invested in a proper big coat,
and I feel warm, and I feel good.
So that's good.
Oh, cool.
This is so cool.
It's like some, like, architectory park.
Look at the shapes.
They don't look this cool in England.
They do not look this cool in England.
England are like bright yellow and red
and metal that's all rusty.
And I like that it's closed in as well,
so you've got like a big wall all the way around the edge,
and then a gate at the end over there.
I mentioned it in yesterday's video,
and I feel like I do have to mention it again
because I don't want anyone thinking
that something weird's happening to me.
But it is.
I don't know what it is.
My eye's gone very red and very swollen.
This one looks half closed.
It looks like I'm kind of winking, but I'm not.
It's odd.
I don't know what it is.
It doesn't really hurt.
It's just like watering, and it's just a bit red and weird.
So that's fun.
But moving on from the eye,
today's plans, one of each.
Today's plans are, we've got quite a busy day,
and it's already like 10 o'clock.
We ended up being at the hotel
for breakfast quite a long time.
Koda had about eight courses, I think, of various items.
But it's fine.
There's no actual rush.
It doesn't really matter.
So we basically, we said we'd do a park first.
Tick, done.
Then we walk into a quick coffee shop
on the way to Wawel Castle,
which I think is how you say it.
Again, apologies for the pronunciation
because we do really try our best.
I think it's spelt Wawel, like W-A-W-E-L,
and you could pronounce the W as a V.
So water in Polish is W-A-D-A, woda,
but I think you'd pronounce it woda, woda.
And the vodka bar yesterday we saw was W-O-D-K-A.
And again, I assume you'd pronounce that vodka,
but I don't know.
But anyway, so yeah, the castle,
then there's a cool street we want to find.
Then we're going for some traditional Polish food for lunch.
Then the afternoon, we're going to the cloth market
and back to the main town square,
but actually to have a look around this time
because yesterday, we just sort of literally walked
through it on our way somewhere else.
We didn't have a chance to actually look at it properly.
So busy day, lots of walking,
lots of eating and seeing things.
But because we're traveling with a three-year-old,
there will be parks dotted in throughout
because otherwise, what's in it for him?
He doesn't want to sit at a restaurant all day, does he?
Yeah, that's the plan for the day.
Ready?
Whee!
It's a wobbly ride.
Ready, go.
Get out of on it.
Roll out, that's it.
That's the biggest difference we've seen so far.
The biggest difference between England and Poland
is the squirrels.
It's the squirrels.
No, that is the squirrels.
Shh, shh, shh, don't make him jump.
Hello, editing Lucy from the future here.
I'm hungry, I need some lunch
and I'm about to hook myself up
with none other than HelloFresh.
They are the sponsor of today's video
and I want to show you how quick, easy
and delicious their meals are.
Highly recommend them.
The days are cold, the winter is feeling long
and having like wholesome, fresh home-cooked meals
is the one.
30 different recipes in the menu each week.
This week, we've gone for a super quick
Szechuan chicken stir-fry, which we're going to do now.
We've got a lamb and mushroom ragu,
beef meatballs with Rogan Josh.
They got some speciality ones,
like for example, double protein,
which is always good for gains.
On the back, you have a step-by-step recipe
with photos, which is very, very easy to follow.
So let's cook and then I've got a very,
very good discount code for you

George is hungry as well,
so I'm going to go and serve up his lunch.
For him, we're going to tuck in
and you please enjoy the rest of this video.
We're about to head out of the park
and explore some other stuff,
but just quickly some first impressions
of Poland in general.
This is our very, very first time in the country.
We arrived yesterday.
We made a video of us arriving,
which was the previous vlog on the channel,
but I'm loving it.
Climbing up here, mate.
Go on, go on.
So far, everyone we've met has been super friendly
and warm and accommodating.
I feel like visually,
it's a real mix of what I imagine
to be older Europe,
kind of back in the day,
like the old town.
It's like some of the buildings look really traditional.
I don't know, even within here,
like these big gates and stuff.
Then within that,
there's super modern things dotted in.
So far, a very unique place.
We often find ourselves drawing comparisons
when we travel to other countries and stuff.
I do feel like it's got,
I said to Lucy yesterday,
even kind of walking around the main sort of city
in the shops and the coffee shops
and that sort of area,
almost like a Copenhagen kind of feel.
I think a lot of that is to do with the people.
I've noticed,
it's the three-year-olds.
Perfect.
Yeah, I think a lot of that is the people.
Everyone here,
I'm getting like outfit ideas.
Everyone here is super fashionable.
Everyone looks really cool.
Like I'm walking around
and it's literally like
I'm scrolling through Instagram as I walk around,
looking at people's outfits.
It makes me want to definitely explore
some other Polish cities.
It's kind of what we do when we travel to a new country.
We book one trip.
These days, anyway,
we used to maybe do more,
but obviously with a three-year-old,
things are a little bit different,
but we tend to now want to try a new place.
We book one trip for however long.
And then if we like it,
which we do already,
we'll then come back
and maybe do a different city or a different place
rather than doing a repeat.
Although I would definitely come back here
based on first impressions so far.
Are you up for a walk?
I think we're going to have to be.
Because if you look to your right,
I think we have to walk all the way up there
to go and look at that.
You know those moments
where you wish you bought your drone?
So you just fly a drone up there.
Just getting our morning exercise in.
Yeah.
Nice little incline on it.
One of us more than the other.
Oh, because you're pushing.
I can push or I can hold the camera.
Oh, is it one or the other?
The weight of this camera
is probably equal to the force.
To our 20 kilogram child.
Are you joking?
Okay, I don't really have anything to.
So this was home to Polish kings
up until the capital moved to Warsaw in 1596,
I want to say.
Yes, correct.
It's one of the first UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
And according to legend,
a dragon named Smok used to live
underneath one of the caves under the castle
until he was defeated by a clever shoemaker.
So lots of history here,
but a really beautiful place.
And it seems that all around the edge of the castle walls,
there's views of the city.
So in a second,
we're going to go and have a little look over there.
Yeah, really busy, really nice.
It's a Monday today.
I'm assuming it'd be even busier on weekends.
It's 25, again,
I don't know how to pronounce the currency.
Is it zloty maybe?
It's 25 per adult and 17 per child to get in.
So I think it's about like 12 or 13 English pounds
for all three of us.
The lady was stamping the tickets
and getting them ready,
and he lent his-
Say it again, because that was so far away.
The lady was getting the tickets ready
and he leant in the window and said,
can you give them to me, please?
And he's got them.
Can I see?
Got our tickets, haven't we?
Wow, is he free?
He's free, they're about five pounds each.
Oh, perfect.
You wanted to go in, didn't you, mate?
He was not happy with the idea of not going in.
So this way is the way with no steps.
Oh, is there a way with no steps?
And we can take the buggy in with us.
Amazing, good.
Hang on, wait for me.
I was doing a dramatic walk-off shot.
Wait for me.
And now we get to explore the castle.
And then turn back around.
Thanks.
It actually says no cameras beyond this point,
but we've come in.
It's, I don't know, it's like going back in time, crazy.
So it seems like they said no to like big cameras,
but everyone's got their phones out filming
and they're not telling them off.
So do a little clip here just to show you.
Some crazy stories here about kings
being appointed at like 10 years old.
And there was another 10 year old queen
and then she died at 25, got married at 12.
It's just, yeah, amazing to see and hear about the history
as you visit these places.
Just had one of the best meals ever.
It was unbelievable, delicious.
We had all traditional Polish food
at a restaurant called The Black Duck.
And it was, we can highly, highly recommend this place.
Delicious.
As I mentioned, we filmed a whole food video.
So we've just finished filming that video.
It's going to be up on the channel.
Make sure you are subscribed
because you have to see some of the food we got.
It was just unbelievable.
So, so good.
That's good.
Thank you.
That's lovely.
Very nice.
What a cool shop.
Very small in there.
So is he all right?
Koda's having a little nap.
Koda's having a little nap, so I shouted at the camera.
But very cool little coffee shop.
Yellow, Yellow Monkey, I think it was called.
We've been across.
So let's try this.
Ooh, that's tasty.
That's very nice.
I didn't get a chance to like ask about
what beans they're using or whatever, but.
That's based on my eyes.
It's white.
I don't want to gross everyone out.
I'm like traditional clothes and stuff, but care.
All right, we have just come for a walk in the park.
Sunset is starting.
We found a little park for Koda
just to get some energy out for the end of the day.
I'm going to go and grab my final coffee of the day.
My friend Mike recommended an app.
It's called European Coffee Trip.
And it basically shows you the specialty coffee shops
near you whenever you travel.
So there's one very, very close
called Yolk Coffee and Pastry, 140 yards away.
I'm going to leave these two in the park.
I'm just going to grab coffee now, okay?
Going to leave these two in the park playing.
Go and grab myself my final coffee of the day.
I tend to have three coffees a day.
Closes soon.
Oh no, it's just closed one minute ago.
Oh no, that's, well, first it's ruined
this whole section of the vlog.
Secondly, where am I actually going to get coffee from?
Okay, so the other coffee shops are a little bit
too far away.
I'm going to save them for tomorrow.
Going to go back to Yellow Monkey
because the coffee was nice.
I'm just going to have, what shall I have?
I might have an Americano this time or like a long black.
Maybe even just double espresso.
Maybe I'll have a double espresso.
Let's see.
I think people stop here for you.
Yes, they do.
Okay, cool.
Right, back into Yellow Monkey.
I have to look out for trams as well.
Not used to living in a country with trams.
That's caught me out a few times.
Thank you.
Definitely look like a tourist.
All right, back to Yellow Monkey.
After what has been an amazing day in an amazing city,
we had the best day today.
So much fun.
Exploring, looking around.
The weather was great.
Amazing food.
Really enjoying this place for dinner.
Oh, we're also really happy that they have Uber Eats
because for dinner tonight,
instead of going out again to another restaurant
and making our son sit through another meal,
we thought we would order in.
Very cool to see that Uber Eats is a thing here.
I wonder if Bolt has food
because often the ride apps have food attached
but we've just got Uber installed on our phones.
We opened it and checked and yes, it was.
We've ordered burgers, smash burgers.
Oh, this just, look.
Look at this, man.
It looks unreal.
Best rated burger in Poland.
No, that's not true.
Best rated burger in the area of around our hotel.
Also, another huge thanks to the Radisson Blu
for hosting us on this trip,
inviting us to stay at this hotel,
providing us with this huge suite.
Like Koda's over there eating his room service.
He got a pizza.
Lucy's on the bed chilling.
I've got this whole sofa area to myself
and I can eat dinner.
So all there is left to say
is thank you so much for watching.
More exploring tomorrow of this amazing city.
