Hello guys, welcome to a brand new vlog.
Welcome to the Daily Juice.
Look up, ready?
Hold the camera.
Yeah.
Sit down.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, wait, come with me, come with me.
We're going on a journey.
Cool.
I don't know if that worked.
No, you look better in person.
Anyway, we're very excited this morning
because we are out in Uptown BGC
and we are, I am personally very excited
because my favorite coffee shop
that we used to come to all the time
when we lived in Manila.
And we just went to whilst in Dubai.
Yes, we found one in Dubai.
We filmed that.
And we go there in London as well.
Arabica is back in the Philippines.
It closed down the branch on,
can't remember the name of the street.
It's an Ancan coffee shop now.
It's the same road, isn't it?
Yeah, yeah.
Because there's two on the same road,
but it's far apart.
Peace.
Did you say peace?
Well, I'll cut out saying peace.
Did you say peace?
I did.
What?
I cut out the sound on that, it's awkward.
I don't know why I said it.
What?
Yeah, I said peace.
Why?
I was just like, hey, peace.
I didn't mean to say it.
I just meant to do the sign,
but I just said it as well.
I can't breathe when I wet myself.
Oh my God.
Anyway, Arabica is back.
Arabica is back in the Philippines.
I am overdue my morning coffee by far.
So we're going to head into the Japanese mall,
the Mitsukoshi mall,
which last time we were here, we came to,
but there wasn't too many stores open.
It was kind of the brand new mall.
People were still kind of setting up.
There's also one of my favorite clothing stores in here
that Mr. Tom Lowry himself
from the Keto Family YouTube channel recommended.
And I bought a t-shirt from there last time.
Want to check it out again today,
see if there's anything,
any sick, fresh garms that I can pick up.
That really tickled me.
I think it's not, I feel like saying peace is fine.
Like, if you're a person who says peace,
but you've never in your life said that,
some random guy's like, hey, vlogger.
And you're like, peace.
Where did that, why did you say it?
Like, where did it come from?
I don't know.
I'm just in a good mood.
I'm excited.
I'm excited to get Arabica coffee again.
I'm happy you're excited.
Very excited.
And maybe it should be your new thing.
Are you going to be someone that says peace now?
Yeah, hey, peace.
I don't think I need to do that and say it.
I think it's one or the other.
I think that was the problem with it.
It was one or the other.
All right, let's go.
Where on earth is Arabica?
It's not busy at all.
I didn't mean to say that.
I meant like it's busier, like there's more shops.
Yeah, cool, cool.
It's actually, hello.
Where is it?
Hi, do you know where Arabica is?
Do you know where Arabica is?
The coffee shop?
This one?
Oh, thank you.
Thank you.
All right, we have directions.
Where is it?
Oh, I can actually smell it.
Here we go.
Oh, and apparently there's normally a massive queue here,
but it seems quiet, so.
Hopefully not.
Yes.
Ooh, nice store.
Nice store.
It looks like a big robotic.
Nice coffee shop.
It reminds me of Wall-E.
That is super.
It's okay, thank you.
This is super futuristic.
Wow.
Such a cool coffee shop.
Oh, wow, the view as well.
That's super nice.
Hello.
Whoa.
He's doing it, not me.
I'm gonna get so dizzy.
Some coffee.
Hello, darling.
Okay, so coffee has been ordered,
and this is a really, really nice coffee shop.
Really nice store.
Nice view looking out.
I've noticed that Arabica have changed
the oat milk that they're using.
Very nerdy coffee thing,
but it's very important for a lot of people.
They used to use Oatly.
They're now using Oatside.
Same in Dubai.
Luckily, I still like the taste of that.
They also now give you one of these buzzers
when your order's ready,
even just for one coffee, so.
Very modern, futuristic experience there.
Let's get some coffee.
Let's find the coffee.
Here we go.
My last Arabica flat white in Manila must have been
nearly, I don't know, between two and three years ago.
Oh, yeah.
So good.
Even with the different oat milk.
Do I prefer Oatly slightly?
Yes.
But that Arabica taste is there.
Beautiful.
Lucy and I are big fans of Japan in general.
Japanese culture, Japanese food, drinks.
So coming here and getting a taste of that is so cool.
This mall is definitely, definitely filled out.
So many more.
Maybe it's a hint.
I don't know, George.
Maybe it's a hint.
That's what I'm gonna say.
We can't give it away that early.
I'm not saying anything.
I'm just saying.
Right, okay, okay.
We're tempted to go and get ramen at Mendokoro.
We've not been down there.
I think this is a whole extra video another day.
We have to get back for Koda's nap.
Unless he sleeps in the bucket.
Koda, can you sleep in the bucket?
Yeah, fall asleep now.
Then we can just eat for the next two hours.
I think we have to have a quick look downstairs.
I just ordered a matcha from the Matcha Tokyo.
And instead of getting my usual matcha latte,
I just got something called Japan Premium,
which is just pure matcha and water
with no sugar, no milk, no sweetness.
So it's like hardcore matcha, basically.
But it's very me.
I really like it.
And it's super smooth.
It almost tastes like there would be milk in it,
but it's just pure matcha.
It's amazing.
Here, here's the clothes store I was talking about,
where I might see if they got a little t-shirt or two.
A little one.
You probably need a big one, like a XXL or something.
Not XXL.
I do like XL.
I do like it a little baggy.
No, but I think here, the sizes are smaller.
So normally you are XXL.
Genuinely.
Gonna have a quick look down in the food court.
They've got this bakery here that looks so nice.
Hello.
That looks so nice.
Is it all Japanese?
Wow.
They have a moss burger down here,
which we've tried before as well.
And then a whole food court here full of stuff.
I think we're gonna have to come back.
We're gonna have to come back and try all this out.
It's like moss burger and stuff as well.
Yeah, I just said that.
I'm sorry, I didn't even hear.
Oh, look, all the Japanese.
That looks so,
that looks literally like what you get in Japan,
doesn't it?
Also got one of our favourite ice cream spots here.
This is delicious.
I think this might be my new favourite mall here.
I think it's overtaken SM Aura.
I've said it.
I love it.
If we still lived here,
I would try to get a condo near it
because I like it so much.
I feel like our life in Manila,
if we lived here again,
would be so different because there's so many new things.
It wouldn't even be like reliving the same thing.
And we said this,
I think coming here after spending so long
in our small, quiet hometown in the UK,
because we don't really go to London that much
or anything like that.
Once a year?
If we did, if we lived in London,
it would be different
and we wouldn't be making these comparisons as much,
probably, but I think because we live
in such a small, quiet town,
when we come here and there's just so much
and so much to do,
we are always drawn to BGC, aren't we?
Yeah, yeah.
We're always drawn back here.
And we realized yesterday,
we were chatting to ourselves.
We were chatting last night
and we were like,
we realized that BGC,
whoa, nearly fell down a drain.
No, you did it.
Bloody vloggers.
Nearly fell down a drain, guys.
Is that the title of the video?
Yeah, I think so.
We realized yesterday that BGC,
the reason we're so drawn to it
and emotionally attached,
we've realized that so many huge moments
in our life happened here.
And I put something out on Instagram yesterday
that kind of tried to sum that up.
Pop it on the screen next to us.
Yeah, I'll put it on the screen now.
It's so true.
I was writing it like,
oh wow, this is big.
This is like our life story,
a huge part of our life story.
We decided to have a baby here.
We found out that Lucy was pregnant here.
We had the first scans with CODA here.
We had lockdown here in BGC.
Months and months of lockdown,
not knowing when it was going to be lifted.
Not knowing when we could go home to our family.
Missing our family that March.
And then losing family members.
We found out the news
that we've lost family members while here.
Yeah, we both lost a grandparent each.
Yeah.
When we were here.
Like I know where we got the text or the phone calls.
Yeah, getting that news.
That's all attached to BGC.
And other big milestones with this channel.
Yeah.
Meeting people who watch these videos.
And just like so much of our life
is anchored in this city.
It's not like, for example,
if we said, oh, let's move to a different,
I'm sorry, move to a different city.
Let's move to Bangkok, for example.
Yeah, that would feel like totally new, different.
Like it makes you think like,
I don't know, I've always drawn back to here.
Yeah, we could live here.
We could definitely live here again.
Like there would be no question.
Absolutely.
No nervousness.
No, I don't know.
We could definitely live here.
Because if one thing would be our family not being here.
Yeah, as we said before.
And we can't bring Coda up, not around them.
Yeah.
We've said it so many times.
We could bring all our family over here.
Then it's a no brainer.
Of course we would live here.
Oh, it'd be amazing.
It'd be so, so good.
It'd be such an easy decision.
If all our family were here, guys.
But grateful for the fact that we can spend time in the UK
and spend time here.
Yeah, living here again would be awesome.
And it would just feel easy.
Because so much of our life is already here.
In the past, in the present, and I'm sure in the future.
And I now see why people say like,
cities hold so many stories.
And cities are more than just buildings.
That it's life and it's,
our little story is here, just the two of us.
Think of the millions of stories that are in each city.
Unbelievable, these lives that are being lived
and these moments.
You always go to like the deepest thing in the world.
Like you always go off on one and get so deep.
George is also obsessed with time.
The amount of times that we've been here,
he's gone, isn't it crazy that da, da, da, da, da, da.
You're just like quite a deep person, aren't you?
I love it.
What I find weird is like.
You're a deep thinker.
How our day-to-day routine was here in BGC.
Every single day, wake up, coffee, go, film a video.
Like it was for so long, for so long, for so long,
in our old apartment, that first apartment that we rented.
We just got so many memories through lockdown.
That feels like the other day.
It was like three years ago.
Where does that go?
How can you have this thing that's the same every day?
It's quite like similar and repetitive
and you're in a routine.
And then you look back and it's three years ago.
That's what freaks me out.
Well, well, well.
If it isn't rainy season, our old friend,
we just got in the car before it started raining.
Well, we had to go down like the front.
We're in the mall.
It's more like more vlogger exaggeration.
Wouldn't really matter
because it was underground mall parking.
We were already underground,
but we literally got back into the mall.
Then it started raining.
And yeah, like, here we are.
Our first rainy experience
since being back in the Philippines.
Apart from the other day when it rained.
I quite like it.
Yeah, true.
It did, didn't it?
But we were indoors.
I do quite like it because it feels cozy.
It reminds me of all the road trips Lucy and I used to do
when we were driving up to like Sagada or Baguio
in the mountains and it would be raining.
I've got such good memories from those trips.
Luckily, we are in our cozy Mitsubishi
from Gateway Motors Group.
That's who helped us out with the car this time around.
So if you're looking for Mitsubishi,
they have a few other brands as well.
Then do check them out.
I've actually for the very first time,
not put the heating on,
but put it like not as cold.
That's why I'm sweating.
I'm boiling.
No, it's not hot.
Can you turn it back down please?
Guys, we have Shake Shack.
Yes, we're trying the new buffalo burger.
Looks very good.
Ranch sauce, buffalo sauce.
Wow.
And then some chicken bites that I think have,
oh, they're meant to have buffalo sauce,
but I guess you add your own.
Nice.
So I'll add that and some fries.
Yeah, we don't have Shake Shack near where we live
in the UK.
We do have it in London,
but every time we come here,
we have to get a Shake Shack.
And this buffalo stuff is new here.
Oh yeah, baby.
Yum.
And I'm going to shake it so it all coats it.
And shack it.
They shake it and then shack it.
Why is it called Shake Shack?
Because milkshakes?
Yeah.
But we never eat the milkshakes.
Did it work?
Good wrist action.
Thank you.
Perfect.
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
Plane.
What is that?
What?
What is it?
What?
Is it a plane?
What is it?
Plane.
Ba-ba.
Whoa, uh-oh.
Uh-oh.
Ah.
What? So I don't know if it's coming out on camera but basically the whole room has gone
yellow and it looks really weird outside. Is that it? Cheese. Do you want a picture?
Picture, picture, picture. I don't think it's coming out on camera but basically everything
looks super yellow and then the sky's still blue. It's really weird. It almost looks like
golden hour sunset but the sky's still bright blue. What's that? Red digger. We're going
to head out to the mall now. Just down here. I'm going to be riding the mall train and
something for Coda before bedtime and dinner time. Don't eat that darling. Alright it is
the evening time now. We've just been for a short walk around the mall. I mean we went
for a walk, Coda went for a run. Didn't you? Yeah. His whole head was sweaty when we got
home. His hair was wet. Running around in 30 degree heat. Did you have fun? Did you
run? Now just feeding Coda his dinner. He's got some pasta with some veg. Lucy's cooking
our dinner tonight and then tomorrow we need to start packing because we're heading to
an island and in the Philippines that really doesn't give it away because there are 7,000
something islands. Coffee? You want some coffee? It's a bit late for coffee. So the next video
on the channel will be us preparing for that. We may be telling you where we're going in
