Over the past couple years of my career, I have had the absolute PLEASURE of being able to interview the most incredible people on this planet (Florence and Lewis being two of them) and I thought you guys might like to see the full length version! Also I desperately needed to share my love of anything Marvel x
If you’ve enjoyed this insight, please let me know down below and I can bring you along to some more interview junkets! 😘
Avengers of Thunderbolts.
What's it like knowing that you're going to be in a Marvel movie
and having to keep that secret?
I can't do it. I'm not capable.
It's crazy.
My name is Max Belletti.
It's a pleasure to see you both.
I am a deeply, thoroughly homosexual interviewer from the UK.
I just thought that you'd love that.
I do love that.
And it's my pleasure to be joined by you two today.
Oh, my gosh.
Well, before we get started,
I know, Florence, you probably don't get to spend as much time in the UK
as maybe you would want to.
And, Lewis, I just thought that I could maybe educate you on some British culture.
Please.
So I've brought you a Greggs gift card.
What is that?
You are going to eat so many sausage rolls, my friend.
Really?
I thought that Florence could help educate you.
Is it?
Go ahead, treat yourself.
So it's not necessarily great.
Yes.
It's crap, but in a good way.
It's great for when you need it.
And you're going to get this sausage roll.
This is what it's famous for.
And it's just a sausage.
Is there any cheese in there?
No, just sausage rolls.
Just a plain old, just one, two.
But they are famous for their sausage rolls,
and sometimes there are queues around the corner for their sausage rolls.
Really?
Absolutely.
But it's crap.
It's like it sounds like 7-Eleven or something.
Better than 7-Eleven, actually.
Yeah, because it specifically is good for being crap.
But their sausage rolls are great.
There's just something magical about it.
Yeah.
I mean, it's magically crap.
And if you're hungover, you said?
It's such a banger if you're hungover.
It's a bit like how people eat meatballs at IKEA.
Like, you wouldn't do it usually, but it's like, it's nichely crap.
Yes.
OK, great, great.
Well, there's a fiver on there, so you can kill your boobs.
Greg, Greg, Greg, Greg.
Yay, there we go.
This is actually for both of us.
Oh.
So we're going to have to split that.
So can you get one of these for 250?
Oh, easy.
Mate, you can get five for a fiver.
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much, guys.
I think it's like four for three pounds.
Thank you so much.
You'll be stuffed.
Oh, of course.
Actually, that's not a bad idea.
Lucy, who's doing hair and makeup with me today, she said at lunch today,
I should have toast with cheese and beans.
Oh, absolutely.
You haven't had beans on toast?
Do you know what?
Do you know what, guys?
I've got the perfect thing.
At Greg's, they do a cheesy bean sausage pasty.
Sausage, bean, and cheese melt, it's called.
Fill your bloody boots.
I can't see it.
I can't see it in my mind at all.
Well, I'm so glad that I brought you that, John.
I'm excited you're going to have beans on toast.
With cheese?
Yeah, with cheddar.
Yeah.
I didn't know about that part.
Or a bake.
Have you ever had baked potatoes?
Yes.
Baked potato, beans, cheese.
Oh my God, I love the sound of that.
That's what we'd get for lunch at school dinners.
Florence, you're doing things to me here.
Yeah, me too.
I've got goosebumps.
Me too.
Jesus Christ.
I'm sweating.
Honestly.
Should we do our jobs, guys?
Yes.
All men.
Thunderbolts, done.
A bag of beans.
So everyone is obviously so excited about Thunderbolts.
Everyone's saying it's giving Avengers vibes.
It's very exciting.
But do you know what comes before thunder?
Lightning, baby.
That's right.
Yes.
I'm going to be asking you some lightning fire questions.
Oh ----.
All right, are you ready?
Yeah.
OK.
You can answer them as fast as you can.
We are not fast.
Well, this will be brilliant.
We're going tepidly slow.
Oh God.
Unlike the service at Greg's, very quick.
Very fast.
First question, Avengers at Thunderbolts.
Thunderbolts.
There we go, love.
Who would win in a fight, Yelena or Black Widow?
Yelena.
No, Black Widow.
Oh.
Is the villain in this movie so fearsome and strong
that he would make Thanos run home crying to his mom?
Absolutely.
Would you trust David Harbour's character, the Red Guardian,
to cook you a three-course meal, and what
do you think he would serve you?
Oh, I would want to see it, but I wouldn't want to eat it.
You know how there's this new thing where people
are using crisps in food?
Oh, yeah.
I think he would do that.
Yeah.
Oh, no, I like that.
Like Cheetos on chicken sort of vibe.
Yeah.
What are you doing?
Keep those crisps away.
And with a pint of vodka, I think it would be served with.
Yes, there you go.
He'd make you drink it first so that it tasted good.
Out of your fellow Thunderbolts, which character
would you most trust to bring to a family wedding,
and who would you least trust?
I think I'd trust Bucky to bring to a family wedding.
Yeah.
He would charm.
He'd be able to charm people.
He's been around for so long, he's probably been to Cotillion,
and he knows his whole Alice Harper thing.
Strong handshake as well.
Yes, yeah.
Totally.
Who would you least want?
Oh, you wouldn't want Alexei there.
No.
It's a nightmare.
100% wouldn't want that.
Or Walker, to be honest.
Right, back to Lightning Fighter.
Oh my god, oh my god.
Sorry.
Lewis, you have an incredible acting career.
As we know and love.
What was your first thought when you found out
you were asked to be part of the MCU?
I can't do it, I'm not capable.
This is getting crazy.
You are more than capable, Sarah.
I've seen the film and I had chills from start to finish.
Don't be silly.
He's amazing, isn't he?
He really bloody is.
And you'll be even better once you've had a drink.
Sorry to put you back to that.
Florence, how on earth have you developed the bravery
and borderline psychotic levels of confidence
that it takes to effortlessly just jump off
the second tallest building in the world?
Amazing question.
Fuck.
I don't know.
I saw it in the script.
And then I saw it disappear from the script
and I was like, hell no, you can't take that away from me
after tempting me with it.
Fair enough.
I love heights.
That was a whole new level of heights.
And I just became the biggest Karen.
I was like, you've got to let me jump off
the second tallest building in the world.
And they kept on saying no, and I kept on saying no back.
One of the most psychotic things I've ever seen.
The behind the scenes of that, you just...
Alright then.
I've actually spent a lot of time thinking about
putting myself in this position
and I have come to the conclusion I,
despite not being proud of this, I couldn't have done it.
You couldn't do it at all.
I would need a little...
You know the scariest part though, wasn't jumping off,
it was getting up from the edge.
Getting out of bed, getting out of the bath,
getting up from a pool or whatever it is,
you've done that movement so many times.
But when you know you physically should not fall forward,
oh my God, my knees were shaking.
Jake was like, can you get up even closer to the edge?
And I was like, Jake, there's a drop there.
Like, I'm trying my hardest.
It was mad.
Honestly, you should be so proud of yourself.
Thank you so much.
Three lightning fire questions left.
What's it like knowing that you're going to be in a Marvel movie
and having to keep that secret from the entire rest of the world?
You had a really hard go of it, didn't you?
Once you're in it, people start sniffing instantly.
Like, there's whispers instantly.
And then it's your job to essentially never break,
which is so hard when you're new
because you don't even have the skills
to understand how to change the conversation.
So people are like, now, are you really, really this person?
And you're like, yeah!
And you also think you're going to get fired
and you also think that you're going to get sued.
You just have so much fear inside you to not say the wrong thing.
And also, whenever you go to these Comic-Cons,
you get this little sheet of paper saying what you can and can't say.
And essentially, I remember when I did my first Comic-Con,
I was like, OK, cool, so I can say I'm Yelena.
And they're like, no, no, no, no, you can't.
And I was like, what do you mean I can't say I'm Yelena?
And they were like, no, no, no, no, you know you can't.
I'm like, but I'm going to go on stage with Scarlett and with David.
Like, for what?
I was like, but they will know, no?
They must know.
Anyway, I ended up saying it because I was told I was allowed in the end.
But I was like, what am I supposed to say?
Yeah. I'm just here for the ride?
It's an impossible choice. I'm here for a holiday?
I feel like I'd end up telling my grandma
and then Kathleen down at church would be telling the whole town.
Oh, that was another thing.
I had to tell my gran to not say anything.
Oh, did you tell your grandma?
Yeah, I have to be very careful.
My family, they love conversation.
So I always have to be very careful about what I say.
And then if I do say something like, guys, secret.
Yeah. Oh, remember?
Yeah, I have to really, really hammer it home.
Like, you cannot tell people.
Your gran is iconic. I saw her at the premiere.
I know that you bring her everywhere with you.
I do the same with my grandma.
I have very less exciting places to bring her.
No, sadly, she's not today.
We just go down to like Greggs and stuff.
That's a callback.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Do you work for Greggs?
No, I don't. Actually, I probably should do though.
Like, you should be getting like a cut.
I completely agree, Flores.
Because it's been mentioned five times.
It's a bit obsessive.
Me just going to reveal a Greggs tattoo.
That's six now.
Oh, my gosh. Well, thank you so much.
This was so much fun.
And enjoy that five pound Greggs voucher.
I can't wait. I want one right now.
Looks amazing.
Maybe we can make that happen.
Yeah.
