Meeting new babies & revealing our new car!

I have never seen traffic this bad in the UK ever, especially on the road warm right now. On a Sunday. On a Sunday. Good morning guys. Welcome to the vlog. Juicy vlog on the road this morning. We're heading to what is the biggest car event in the UK ever, Goodwood Festival of Speed. And we set off from home about 20 minutes ago, hit the main road and then about 10 minutes in, hit an unbelievably bewildering, it's not bewildering actually because it's expected, but a huge level of traffic because this is such a popular event that people travel from abroad. People drive down the country to come here. We're very lucky. We live right near Goodwood racecourse. It's about 20 minutes away. Guys can hear Koda in the background, but we grabbed our coffees to go this morning. So our sat-nav is cleverly trying to take us on a little bit of a detour away from the traffic, but it could be clogged up down here. Anyway, how are you guys? How are you all doing? I hope you're doing well. Hope you had a good week, weekend, whatever day it is you're watching this. For us, it's Sunday and we're off to look at some insane cars. Ooh, Porsche. Also a ton of food stalls and I'm really hungry. You can smell like the sausage and the bacon. So we need to track down what food you want to go for. People like cars and food are my love. So we need to find some very good food here. One hand lift, one hand the tag. Yay. This is awesome. Lucy actually hooked up. Thank you. Yeah. Lucy hooked up the tickets for my 30th birthday. The most dragged out birthday that's ever existed in the universe. Continues on the vlog. Cody's got his McLaren flag. It's quite a cool choice of flag. I'm quite happy that's the one we got first. Wave your flag. You're happy. Cool. There is just so much to look at. We're kind of limited on time a little bit today because this afternoon we're going to see my family, meet a new baby, two new babies in the family. One I've never met, one I have met. Yeah, I was going to say, you're not meeting your family. Yeah. So we've got some of my family over from Spain so that we are doing that this afternoon. Maybe we'll pick up the camera later as well. But what a cool way to start a Sunday. Fond, fond memories of when we lived in Manila and we used to go to the supercar Sunday every Sunday morning, walk around, get some food, get some coffee, look at all coffee. We have not thought about coffee yet. We did have one on the way in the car. Yeah, it's definitely some breakfast, but so, so much to look at. This probably deserves a full vlog really. I just caught that out of the corner of my eye. Okay. We are coming up right up to the track now. So we'll see if, see if my camera skills good enough to capture any of these cars going past because that is, that is so fast. Yeah, probably better to watch it on, we're just talking over each other. You don't get that on the TV. You get nice quality, quality production on the TV. But if you want the George and Lucy experience of Goodwood, stick around here. So we're now in the save yard and BMW have got this whole thing as like their stand. And I guess they've got like the best stand in the place because it's so cool. They've literally taken over this entire bear. Okay. We've stopped for some breakfast right next to the toilet. It's a lovely choice. Um, we're getting a Goodwood sausage bap with some ketchup. Sausage? Yeah. Do you want some? All right. We've got quite a lot still to look around. Um, but we thought we'd stop for some food because we're a little bit peckish. Nice. I'd have preferred actual sausage probably, but it is very good. Nice and warm. So we're currently at the start line of the actual track and it's actually quite cool. I see them sort of pulling up. Okay. It's very windy, very noisy. I'm right next to the helicopter landing field. I suppose you'd call it. Um, and also loads of schmooze cars are lined up just behind me. So I'm gonna have a quick look around there. Wow. Helicopter. I actually just walked across the track which is quite a cool experience. All the cars lined up now. I think, I don't know exactly how the day runs in terms of actual races and laps and stuff. This is um, something Sunday. There's different classes. What is it? Shootout Sunday is it? Oh is it? I think so. There's a certain thing. I don't know. We don't, you're not filming me. Am I not? Cheers. Cheers. Good thing there's some nice cars to look at here, isn't there? We've got a new Defender here and it's amazing green colour. Okay. We are back from Goodwood now and we are at my mum and dad's house for a huge family lunch. If you look here, they've set up the table for everyone. We've got a tonne of food out. Let me quickly show you over here. My dad's here. Very, very popular character on the channel. And then we've got a tonne of food here. Lucy seems to be the first one tucking in. For Cody, not for me. Oh yeah, don't lie. Can you get me some stuff while we're here? Yeah, don't worry, I'll get us some food as well. Perfect. So we've got some potatoes, some quiches and pies and bread, salad, all sorts of nice stuff. You've been working hard dad? I have, yeah. I've been sweating in there. Or was it mum? Well, little secret just between you and me for the rest of the wider world. Obviously it's yours truly all the way. What a beautiful day. Just come out for a drive in the Lotus. Which is a car that we haven't revealed on this channel properly. I did put a sneak peek actually. I took it for a drive in the vlog a while ago, but I think it was towards the end of a video and I never went into too much detail about it. I was inspired. It's the next day by the way. We're filming this on the next day. I was inspired by Goodwood yesterday and I thought, ha, if the sun's out tomorrow, 100% have to get the Lotus out. So here we are taking a nice little drive, just a short one. Find a little, little place to perch and just, that's not a very good angle. Just enjoy the sun for a minute. Nope, that's not going to work. Nearly fell in the bush. Why don't I just sit in the car? That would be, looking for somewhere to sit, but I've got a nice comfortable leather seat right here. So yeah, yesterday was so nice. It was such a special day. I didn't want to shove the camera in everyone's face and vlog too much, but I did get a few shots, a few photos for us just to keep as a family. That is the first time those three babies have been together. So Coda, my sister's new baby, Phoebe, my cousin's baby, Tony, who is eight months. So Coda's 18 months, was 17 months, but that was a few weeks ago. So probably 18 months. Tony's eight months and Phoebe is, he's just gone two months. So three babies together. All of a sudden my parents suddenly have two grandkids. My cousins actually live in Spain. So that's the first time I'd met baby Tony. And yeah, it's just super special day. Went up to my mum and dad's house, as you saw, and had a bit of a big family reunion. We rarely all get together. That was my auntie there, who's my dad's sister. I don't know why I'm going into so much detail. You're never going to remember this. I wouldn't remember it unless they were my own family. And we were trying to work out like, like the relations. So obviously my cousins have had, my cousin has had a baby. So what does that make that baby to Coda? Is it like second cousin or I don't know how any of that stuff works. Yeah. Super, super special day. And that was Sunday. It's now Monday. Weekend flies by. And yeah, wanted to show a little bit more of this car. So this is our Lotus. I mentioned that this was, this car used to belong to my uncle. He very sadly passed away when I was 15. I think I was 15 or 14. And this car was used for a little while by my mum and dad. And then it went in the garage for about six or seven years. And it has just been brought back to life by me. My dad kind of said, look, I'm not going to get around to it. It's a little bit expensive getting it fixed. It's kind of not my top priority right now. My mum and dad moved house recently and my dad's just retired and stuff like that. So they've got other stuff on. My dad was like, I'm not going to get around to fixing this for a while. If you want to get the work done, it's yours, basically like have the car, enjoy it. And I was like, yeah, a hundred percent. I'd be really, really keen to get it back on the road. So got the work done. This isn't the car channel. So I'm not going to go into like all the detail of what needed doing, but a few bits and pieces, got it through the MOT, got it taxed, insured, back on the road. So Lotus Elan, the first edition, not the first one from the sixties, but the first one from the nineties. So the new Lotus Elan, M100, 1.6 turbo, manual gearbox, a lot of fun, insane handling, front wheel drive, the only front wheel drive car that the Lotus have ever made, which was controversial at the time, but the handling is unbelievable. And it's so fun to drive. It's that kind of that raw manual experience and absolutely love it. I'll just show you around the car quickly. So it's actually a pretty small car. I was parked up to a 911 the other day, and this looked tiny next to the Porsche. Obviously as it is a two seater, it can only really be for me to take out on my own or for Lucy, if we get a babysitter for code or something, we've taken this on a few date nights over to Brighton along the seafront and obviously convertible, you have to have a nice day for it because the soft roof that does pop on this, it does come over on this, does leak. And it was known to leak from new. So just one of those features, one of those things, every car has its quirks, but thanks so much for watching this vlog. Hope you enjoyed it.
