Right. Pretty quick. Uh, I centered this
piece. This is about six pound of clay.

So if you have a hard time, you can use
my number six compression stick for
taking care of the floor.
So the floor is compressing flat and
also I have a very good uh 90° in the
corner
[Music]
and keep on squeezing the clay from the
corner. bring it in to use most of the
clay
so that I don't waste the clay in the
bottom corner.
[Music]
So after I bring to enough height, I'm
going to remove all my throwing mark and
then brush the sodium slick and then
start to stretch it. So in mind the
number one triangular shape rib to
smooth
[Music]
[Music]
Right. And then I'm going to use a um
texture rip to scratch some horizontal
lines just like I did on the other day.
[Music]
Then brush the sodium silicate over the
texture.
[Music]
And then I'm going to use the torch to
dry the surface a little bit.
[Music]
Okay. So that torch is very powerful so
I don't overcook. Once I find out the
service is getting non shiny then I
stop.
And then I'm going to use the ri
my number two rip to stretch it using
this curve.
This curve.
[Music]
Let me stop.
And you can see that the surface start
to get crackle from the sodium silicate.
[Music]
[Music]
So I'm compressing the rim so to keep it
thicker. It will hold the shape a bit
better while I'm stretching it. So
that's why I you see that I keep on
compressing it down to make the rim
slightly stronger.
[Music]
[Music]
Okay. What I did was using my fingertip
just fine tuning the overall shape. See
which spot is a little bit off. And then
I'm going stretch it out. So use my just
fingers to do the final shaping. And
then I'm going to take care of the rim.
Turn it into a lid jar. The neck is
probably a little bit too tall. So I am
going to cut it up and maybe have the
opening slightly wider.
I could chop it off here.
And then I'm cleaning up the bottom.
Trim the stir clay off the bottom
corner.
I'm using my number 17
stainless trimmer, skirt trimmer.
All
right. And then
measure the width. And this time I am
making a different type of uh little
jar. The one I just did a couple days
ago is double gallery. One gallery on
the body of the shape body and then
gallery on the lid. But this one I just
keep it a simple simple rim and then I
put the gallery on my lid so it doesn't
move. It's little bit easier. And this
is the the preferred way I keep the the
body simple and then I put the gallery
on the lid
system.
Okay.
So this is about six pound of a clay
mar.
And uh I leave it a little bit thicker.
So when I stretch it, uh I can see more
the crackle texture more dramatically
because I leave the clay a little bit
thicker.
And then use my other
just pop uh
my bed insert here and I can keep on
throwing.
All right, for the making the lid, since
I'm trimming the nut, that's the
preferred way for making my lids. So,
I'm trimming till the dead stage. So,
this part here, I need to leave it
thicker so I have room to trim my knob.
So, when I'm centering, I'm centering
the shape into like a toe knob. Okay,
the base smaller and the top slightly
wider.
and then open that.
Pour it out.
When pull out, leave the the edge
slightly thicker. So, you are going to
put the gallery right here.
Um,
using my thumb to compress the inner
part of the shallow dish.
This part here, it's a very good curve
and it's fitting right there. So, I
usually use that to squeeze it to push
it. And then I put my fingertip there.
Then this two finger compressed it and
the in index finger or a thumb just a
small finger in the middle and then you
compress it down. So you already see the
shape of the gallery.
And uh before I refine it, I need to
measure if this is the right width. So
bring back my measurement.
So you see that is slightly wider.
That's fine. I can squeeze the clay a
little bit in inward. So it will be
smaller.
And for making the gallery,
I show you before using my number one.
It's the triangular shape
and I have mine a corner bridge sharp.
It's like 90° perfect 90° and use the
90° and with the finger inside to
support it and then 90° to squeeze it
because I want to make it slightly
smaller. So I squeeze it in
and my finger inside is supporting it.
Okay, let's double check.
Right. So, it's about the right size.
So, I will stop right here and then use
a
shammy to
smooth
compress and smooth the rim.
And the make sure when you're making the
lid
because if you have your lid too flat
that doesn't look nice. You want to
slightly have a curve. So when you're
making it the inner part of the lid you
want to slightly curve down. So when you
trim on the other side you will slightly
curve. That kind of lid looks little bit
nicer than the flat top.
Okay. Try to clean the corner again.
Right. And then this part here is
slightly thicker. I can pull it
pull it out outward.
Make it slightly thinner.
And maybe this part here is little bit
too wide. You can trim it. You can do it
later by when you are ready to trim. But
uh I usually like to
sip some clay, some wet clay. So I'm
trimming it now.
Okay. And pull out
and use the um the shammy to smooth it
and put my thumb there. So slightly
pinch. So you see that there are like
looking at the double rim here. That
clay I can trim it off.
Wet trim it.
Before I do that I will do my final
cleaning.
Okay.
Right. So, this looks good. And let me
double check that. Um, this is fine.
And let's let's say that um there's a
double rim here. So, I'm using my number
five knife. And I just try to chop up
from here.
and remove some
wet clay. So later on I don't need to
trim too much.
Okay, take it down all the way.
Okay, reserve some clay. I can reuse it
again.
Um, you can see that this is quite a bit
of a clay. So, I reserve that much of
clay for me to trim the knob later on.
Just pop it out from my back system
body and the leg together.
Thanks for watching. I will see you next
time. And by the way, this piece of clay
is six pound. So I will try to throw 4
lb, six pound, and lay on 8 pound and
maybe 10 lb. So you can see the
different sizes of the same project. All
right. Yep. See you next time. Thanks
for watching.
