Asian Grocery Shopping & Haul! So Expensive?!

money guys welcome back to a brand new video you join me from the lifts of our condo and today I'm doing one of my favorite things to do in Manila which may sound ridiculous to most people watching we're going grocery shopping well actually I am on my own code is asleep having his nap um I enjoyed his getting an edit done upstairs but I thought I'd run down and do a quick grocery shop I love doing it every minute the food is so different to England and it's definitely more exciting doing a grocery shop not in your home country and we get to pick up all the things again that we used to have when we lived here so very excited for that moving on to a little shopping mall right now [Music] just like that we are at the mall so um there's a what's it called it's not rust and it's the other one Marketplace which I think is the same thing but I'm not sure but it doesn't actually come up when you start interesting hey how are you um there's a little teddy bear here made of roses there's always something different when we come here depending on the time of year and I wonder if while we're here it's going to go into like the Easter Theme or something but it's so loud I'm gonna head into some more Now quickly and yeah there's a literally a supermarket that is right at the back of this mall and I think it's downstairs I always get a bit lost here because I'm still not completely used to it oh such a nice weather today it's sunny it's warm but it's not too warm and it's not that humid to kind of weather where you just sweat it's just quite nice and it feels a bit more manageable for us Brits but yeah let's head over to the supermarket now just walking along the mall there's and this is the first time actually I've been in them all since we got here and it's the first grocery shops that's getting there over here you can see there's like I don't know what it is maybe we're going to have a look in a second along a little bridge and I've not seen them before but I don't know what it's for let's walk down here anyway it's coming up for Midday so this is probably as hot as it's gonna get and don't get me wrong it's very hot in the Sun but it's just so nice I mean look at this view so beautiful we've got the gondolas out already oh it's so good to be back I'm currently in the supermarket it's so quiet in here it's absolutely Immaculate as well all the fruit has literally looked like it's been polished and laid out so neatly and I picked up some lemons watermelon some mango and some banana so getting all them fruits in and also when we shop now I had to think of codo and I'm going around thinking like what's a good finger food for him what can I make um that with so I'm not gonna buy some eggs so I found this one and I just noticed it says that it provides two School rides which is really cool but we are actually heading on a trip soon so I can't get too much stuff because it's all going to go a bit in the fridge hey nice you're on YouTube and then I found this spread I think Coda might like Japanese ready like bread I've got some pesto for our photo vegetables for me uh free so we've got eggs we've got some cleaning products some laundry stuff we've got some steaks some chicken some pork they didn't have any chicken that wasn't boneless but I got them to fill it for me this steak looks amazing yeah that is from Australia we've got some butter some cream cheese and loads of vegetables along hair and fruit uh some cheese coconut water milk Japanese rice I went for I don't know if you've had this one before but let's go some pasta this is the bread that I was talking about that I got for Coda it's like just soft white bread it's nice yeah let's go some pesto some oats all that kind of stuff it feels like there's actually not that much here and it costs over 6 000 pesos I feel that's quite a lot but we've got things like oil and like things that we'll use for the whole duration of our trip I also put some local coffee because we've got the little um drip machine thingy around the corner this is made in Cavite silang silang Cavite silang is how I would say it but I might have pronounced that wrong never tried that before never tried that um it's the arabicrobuster medium dark roast strength strong so it's perfect for the morning cup of coffee thingies because last time we didn't have these we had bits in our coffee yeah coffee for us definitely oh I just noticed there's mold on the potato one of these as well I just wanted to show you the hilarious shape of it but I've just noticed that there's bits of mold growing on it so I might have to cut them out so yeah Coda is having a lovely nap in there which we're very pleased about so far it's almost as if he's gone into the right routine I don't wanna really fell over I don't want to jinx that but so far he had a really good night's sleep at night time in a manila night time so so far seems to be going quite well we're quite lucky with that but yeah Lucy's been food shopping as you can see and we are going to eat out in our favorite restaurants and things but we kind of wanted yeah what do you mean different like last time I was here I was like get me a burger get me shake check get me wrong and get me the entire phone get me adobo get me Fried Chicken like I wanted all the things that I've been craving and missing because we hadn't been here for over a year and we sort of sit in bed and be like if you're in Manila right now what would you eat like give me your five top restaurants like we just always spoke about the food here but because I feel like we're only just here I know it has been months but it feels like closer for us I don't know why this time may I know why because code is here and he's still here and it's this part of our life is now a section but before he was born it was like ages ago I reckon that's why but now because we feel like we've just been here there's less of a craving for it like we're still very much looking forward to eating out in loads of our favorite places when I get to a manner and we're going to get some Filipino breakfast um at manam like there's places we want to go to while we're here but it's less of like a uh give it now like do you know what I mean I don't know yeah no 100 we also we also really miss the days that and we're not ones you guys probably know from watching the Vlogs we're not ones for like um we do have a little cookie this morning I did have my protein cookie yeah um [Music] I'm really hungry we're not one for like Nostalgia I'm trying to stay in the same place and do all that but we do kind of miss the days of when we were like properly living here so I think like cooking our own food in your own apartment makes you feel like you're kind of yeah living here and we're kind of back in that kind of Lifestyle I don't know rice and pork for lunch sounds delicious get the old rice cooker I still can't believe we haven't got one of them yet and we need one we need to get close I'm just showing our rice cooker when did we even get that um it was renting yeah yeah [Music] [Music] let's try yeah I just hit recording you said that Lisa let's hope we don't get any rice weevils who remembers the Vlogs in the old apartment when we had rice weevils everywhere I need to watch that Vlog I love the name of it that's why it makes me laugh anyway Cavite coffee let's try it wow Cavite is really hot that's nice be careful because you're famous it's like a rich flavor but not too dark yes but we bought medium to dark so it tastes exactly like that Medium to dark okay let's try it try it it's hot it's nice it's a perfect morning with black coffee I don't think you put enough I don't think there's too much water to coffee but I think it actually reminds me of do you remember that we used to have that we pour in them little sachets and we pour it over yeah when we were traveling yeah that's very nice that's the perfect black morning coffee that you want isn't it yeah it really tastes like a Filipino yeah definitely yeah I like flat whites later in the day but always black coffee in the morning how funny that it is like a Philippines coffee it's Philippines coffee I know but like how crazy that we can recognize that taste there's one morning coffee I will never forget in the Philippines and we just got back it was one of the times we just got back and we went to Kanto freestyle in Makati opposite the hop in you go over the road and around the corner Kanto freestyle and we had Barako coffee and we had I think I had eggs of bacon and rice yeah the breakfast is good man it's like you go it's like half indoors half Outdoors it's cheap it's nice food and we used to yeah we had breakfast there a few times before heading off on some of those road trips just in memory yeah it feels like so long ago now so many of you guys have been here since then as well right so what do we have pork garlic I'm gonna do some spinach some pork chop we've got some rice and I've also put some little aubergines in here oh yeah I've got the um airfryer out again eggplant chips or in England aubergine no aubergine chips or in Philippines eggplant fries nice yes [Music] so Lucy has completed lunch thank you very much Coda is still napping so we can eat our lunch yes so we've got pork chops eggplant rice spinach yeah nutrition amazing delicious meal um our encoda's got a portion of course oh yeah his coat his little portion he loves rice so there's such anything that he loves rice isn't it like the last few weeks
