Someone Has STOLEN from us...

something has just happened to us that that has never happened in our lives before ripped open and empty I'm like what do you mean what like she just don't know how to react to that [Music] felt cooler in my head doing that welcome back to another video guys hope you're all doing well if you join me in our beautiful brown kitchen and at our new house and this week is Mission get the walls prep for painting Before Christmas now when you're watching this I think it's really been Christmas I think this is going out I think I'm filming this like five days before is it five days before Christmas now and I think we're about a week ahead with our videos at the moment because we wanted to get as much done as we can before Christmas so we can have a few days off but um yeah will you join us at the house today and actually it's just me not us just me I thought my breakfast and my lunch with me so I can spend as many hours here as possible today just trying to crack through some stuff but it's so nice at the moment every time I'm trying to put you in different cupboards testing out these angles that's not one is it there you go basically every time we come to this house at the moment I'm greeted by like five new letters on the floor five new cards because I gave all our neighbors Christmas cards just so like as an introduction if it was a different time of year I'd probably posted like a hello so nice to meet you letter I just sent Christmas cards to all the houses around our area like 10 or 15 different houses just to introduce ourselves because I thought it'd be a good way to do it they're sending those back with some really lovely messages in so it's warming my heart on this freezing cold day um I've got coffee as well of course and I just went to Tesco's to try and pick up some bits I didn't get what I wanted to get I needed to get some decorating cork but it's fine I've got filler so I'm going to start with filler today and then tomorrow could be a cork day I might spread it out like that I also found this which is a moisture absorber we've currently got some dehumidifiers running suck out all this water from the walls because the radiator centers are off so we can plaster and decorate but it means that I've got a heating and it's it's really cold it's currently eight degrees inside the house so I'm wearing one two three four layers on my top half and two layers on my bottom half basically we are trying to suck all this moisture out so the plastic and dry and then we need to have the walls decorated in time before the second week of Jan because that's when our flooring is being fitted and we need the walls done before then so we don't get any paint on our lovely new wooden flooring or carpet so yeah I bought this I don't know how it works when I put you try and set it up because hopefully this will start to make a moisture out of the air I think it's like a massive tablet that not like an electric tablet like a literal tablet that you plug in no you don't plug in you don't plug it in at all I think you just pop it in the top let me read the instructions I always do this I try and just do things myself and think I can actually do it press the push buttons on the lower left and right of the hood and lift up the Hood from the device I think I've already done that it's off or he's out the hood first yeah I can see the push buttons push oh it's hard oh there you go push the buttons put open the Aero 360 refill tab packaging later tablet blue side facing down oh yeah I love that it smells like chlorine top of the axi and close the device okay awkward the lid and then is this to something that goes over the top slot to keep it nice but I want it open to suck my moisture out okay I'm gonna place this strategically somewhere maybe in the hallway and then I'm gonna get cracking because I've got a long old ahead of me I've got a thousand pieces of sandpaper and like filling knives and things like that so I'm gonna crack on and I will catch you guys if I do a time lapse and you can see me doing some more prep it's pitch black upstairs as well the lighting's not done yeah but hopefully the electrician is finishing this week we've got the boiler booked in to be replaced in two days from now just before Christmas let me hop either a sec I've got a ton of stuff of me I might just pop this here you know there you go I've got a ton of stuff here it's gonna help me to make these walls look new again so wish me luck oh and actually I don't think we've put an update yet the hallways plastered and the spotlights are in so here's the current situation yeah I don't think I filmed this yet so the walls are beautifully smooth now so nice obviously they're very patchy because it's drying for the darker stuff it's still a little bit wet the lighter stuff that's not completely dry yet we want it to be kind of let me try and find a bit that's completely dry um yeah like down here that that looks completely dry to me so we're definitely getting there um yeah so exciting and sorry if there's a bit of a hum now this is on and it's currently high in here so yeah we need to get that going but I'm super excited because we're really getting somewhere so this is the current house it looks kind of freaky with these like spots all over the wall but um yeah the spotlights have just made such a difference so we've got six in the hallway in total and then we've plastered up here up to the top there as well so yeah and also unfortunately the plaster had blown behind this hair because there's a huge crack when we took the wallpaper off so we had to get that all taken out and then refilled and yeah we're gonna try and not plaster the other walls we're gonna try and DIY them with some Villa yeah but it's looking very good very exciting [Music] okay it's a few hours later now I actually forgot to film anything because I've just been cracking on and I didn't think about hooking a camera up quick lunch break cooked myself some steak and rice this morning and so I can stay here for as long as possible but I do need to go out I need to go to like the DIY hardware store shop to grab some more bits because I've run out of filler already but I'm about three hours work I'm about an eighth done in one room so there's quite a lot of holes and cracks in these walls but it's all good they're very easily fillable it's just super time consuming it's like the wallpapering there was loads of wallpaper it's easy to physically do but it just takes a lot of time and someone could eat this and then I want to jump in the car and head over to Bianchi foreign [Music] got everything I needed all good loads of traffic everywhere so it took a bit longer than expected but that's fine I looked tired I didn't get much sleep last night so for some reason I thought it'd be a good idea to listen to a podcast while decorating filling holes sanding just to like make it go a bit quicker it's quite like a Mindless exercise just filling things and it doesn't take much thought to actually do that so I listened to a podcast put on something nice and cheery like a comedy podcast I quite like listening to Jack makes happy hour and I found an episode all about ghosts and poltergeists and I'm in a silent dark house that looks terrifying right now with nothing on the walls with damp and creaking noises and it's dark rainy stormy outside and now I'm convinced that the house is haunted um so it's going great and also finally when I walked outside I was like why is it so warm outside the house is so much colder than the outside that's how cold it's been recently all the Cold's been tracked inside the house and then as I open the front door it's literally warmer leaving it's weird it's like being back in Manila when you've got AC on indoors anyway I'm gonna crack on now finish off some filling in here in my head I'm like if I can get this room done today just with filling that's a good place to be but I mean whether or not we will I'm not sure so let's crack on okay this is more like it but a big old box of bags of filler but like single use which is quite good and often you get like a massive bag this is five kilograms into one kilogram at a time obviously it's more plastic which isn't ideal but it means that I don't have to like I'll probably definitely use at least one more of these today if not two in this room so yeah it's good so that it's all sealed and you have to be too neat and tidy each day when you leave so I'm going to mix some this is water now and then carry on there's a few little areas of mold along the top here and it's just where these cupboards there was no ventilation no one lived here for three years so I've just put some mold spray on there I'm gonna give it a bit of a clean and then I can carry on filling you can see it going down the Walls there a little bit um but yeah it's nothing to worry about it just needs some ventilation and some cleaning and then as soon as it boilers replaced and the radiators are on um it won't return so yeah all good looking great well looking awful but this is the prep work before it looks great [Music] hello you're right just upstairs so yeah let's get into that [Music] how's it going yeah it's good job my name I'll do it all the Philly are you yeah oh well done you can actually do those ones I've done it around here and that was quite fine actually and I was waiting for Pete to come back and do some more bits where I can fill in them holes but yeah oh gosh yeah yeah perfectly really good yeah so I'm just feeling up to here then he's gonna put you can use that piece again that's new because I did I was going to take it to the tip or whatever yeah um something has just happened to us that has never happened in our lives before ever and I don't quite know what to do or say because I'm a little bit shocked basically Lucy um we had a call earlier from our phone rang so so basically when someone's downstairs in the main building entrance like any condo apartment flat building um there's like a buzzer system and we were expecting something to arrive today and I got the emails on the way got the call from the guy he said hey the front door stop isn't opening I need to leave this downstairs um and you can come and get it so I was kind of like okay that's fine often there's Parcels downstairs let me go and get them and I had Coda on my own today while Lucy was at the house so I obviously couldn't leave Coda here and go and get the parcel so it was down there for a few hours Lucy's just come home on the way up to the stairs sent me a photo she said why is there a box addressed to us ripped open and empty I'm like what do you mean what like she's like have you been taking recycling out and left some I said no I haven't even been downstairs today and this is what she found this is a box from my protein we ordered about 50 pounds worth of um like protein bars like all the stuff we ordered protein and someone whether or not they live in this building or they had access to the front door it's our neighbors potentially that's what kind of hurts because we say hi to some people in this building when we pass them potentially our neighbors have stolen from us but left an empty box with the packaging they've left the box with all this Packaging if you're gonna steal something wouldn't you take the whole thing yeah Lucy just said if you're gonna steal fingerprints like we're gonna like we're gonna call a detective come and have a look if it was like something probably worth a bit more yeah like but but you can't justify stealing even if it was worth two pounds still stealing but I don't think it I don't think it's worth like we're going to contact my protein and see if they'll replace the order but at the same time it's not there for so why should they replace the order um anything is Royal Mail but is it Royal mails for they delivered it but he didn't bring it up to the door like they should have done but apparently the door was broken so as it hit his Hall is it my fault that I didn't go and get it but I couldn't because I was with Coda the only fool the only person that fought here is the person who stole it so we've been stolen from for the very first time and feels horrible because it could literally be kind of stuff could be the girl down this Corridor that we know it could be the couple who lived downstairs that we see all the time will say hi to I have no idea but yeah um there's an interesting event of today so anyway all I can say and all that I can hope is that it was someone who really needed it or someone who is going to try and sell it on Facebook Marketplace as brand new or something and someone who really needs the money um that's what I hope it is and I'm guessing that's that's the only reason why people do steal so like be a bit compassionate to that as well if that helps someone out in some way not condoning steaming and it does hurt that it could be a neighbor um but obviously if they go down okay just banging the cupboards behind me someone clearly needs it more than we do so that's fine so a few takeaways from this experience We're not gonna get things ordered here anymore we just said we're actually quite grateful and lucky in a way because it was only some protein it was about 50 pounds worth a few weeks ago we had this camera delivered which is worth like 600 pounds that arrived we've had way higher items delivered here and it could have been that very Niche thing to steal vegan protein bars very very Niche and thankfully it wasn't like a Christmas present for one of our family members or something like that or something for Coda they need so yeah feeling grateful that it wasn't anything too bad even more reason to get on with this house Lucy's worked super hard today at the house even more reason to get out of this place and get into my own house we're gonna have cameras we're gonna have security we're going to have all the things that we should have at this stage in our lives but currently can't but we're working on it okay update seconds he's been on the job wow that's so good arranged either a replacement or a refund and obviously we wanted the products we ordered yeah they're just going to resend it again that's really good guys top customer service technically my proteins who are the sponsor of today's no they're not it's technically not their fault but equally like we're good customers of theirs and we order from them every month imagine if this was like an elaborate brand deal we're not like that it's not a brand deal what did they say oh they can't amend the address okay oh get a refund then I've already done it well no get a refund too late he's really requested it also get refund order it again to a different addresses it happen again get stolen twice well next time they say it's here let's say okay I bring Coda down okay nightmare but I'm not ridiculous okay I've got those Vamps and stuff coming later and our hello fresh is due to arrive in an hour probably someone's Really Gonna Nick that at least it wasn't hello fresh yeah that would have been annoying but yeah I guess we're gonna get it resolved in the end just weird I'm not being funny if it happens again yeah we'll get another one do you know what I mean like it's annoying but weird I just don't know how to react to that I know people have been through worse it's not a big deal it's just us I think it's someone that's like I don't know they need to buy their daughter a Christmas Box we just said this yeah boys it's like it doesn't upset me yeah we're almost glad that it was us that was stolen from today yeah because imagine if it was someone rather than someone in a like we're in a good financial situation imagine if it was someone so it was like single mom part-time job works really hard I've been saving up heard like Teenage sons getting into the gym and protein and stuff oh daughter or daughter for Christmas she wanted to get like he'd been banging on like Mom can I get these my proteins can I get these protein bars they're expensive like two calendar bar or something I'd imagine she's worked so hard and I'm just making it up in my head but that isn't us we we can yeah it doesn't replace it if we need to ordered it again had they not done a refund yeah so yeah it's just sad but also it's sad that the person that did it so like I don't know I feel weird but I'm not upset or angry I feel I have sympathy and empathy and compressions yeah it's the best way to be and that's more that's a more peaceful way for us to deal with it as well I would say look at these two [Laughter] we've been having like long Vlogs lately we've been having like 20 minutes because drama happened I just I'm exhausted did you get pretty fast though so I've done all the corking and filling in our bedroom amazing react to that because you said you thought about it that is amazing you expect me to do one more you're like we've done the whole room over the whole room is corked and filled ready to be sanded and painted wow fair enough which was a hard job my hands are like red and burning the cork gun is so stiff because it's such a thick material like uh it's not like a liquid it's like a paste it's a cork so you have to pull so hard on the trigger in your hand like it's aching not to mention the fact that the house is ice cold when you leave it it feels warm it's the weirdest feeling and then I did all the filling in coda's room wow I cooked the mass you know that crack that we're worried about yeah that's cool did you peel that I opened it up oh wow to remove a lot of the plaster and then I cooked I I then cooked that oh so that's filled now but then I still need to finish the caulking in that room so that room will take me another like 20 minutes probably okay cool and then I did a bit of filling in the office but not much and then yes I reckon by the weekend definitely I promise myself I'd be saying I'd be filled and corked by the weekend sanding will see because that's going to be the biggest yeah you've been like so good on this project it's been all you I'm gonna like totally I'm not afraid to admit that you you're gonna be paying rent mate and you are paying a rent you've done so well at project management the actual a load of the physical work yeah all right it is time Time to Say Goodbye for another day yeah another day in our lives getting robbed there we go never mind would you call it I guess it is a robbery it is a robbery it's a serious criminal offense it's the equivalent I'm going to March down to the Constable's office first thing in the morning comfortable yeah I'm gonna write my letter this evening go down to the sheriff the sheriff why did the town sheriff and hand in my letter this is I'm not being funny this is the equivalent right of I don't know going to a Jewelery shop breaking in and like it's not the equivalent no no no no no don't take that completely I'm not done yet that's not the sentence going there no no hang on here let me try and get a better version It's the equivalent of stealing a painting from an art gallery and not replacing it with a fake to try and get away with it just leave it yet these were like it's like a bit weird yeah lousy criminals they just left the Box they left the Box their fingerprints all over it yeah like left trace a forensic scientist with a home kit I could have found out who it was today oh yeah you'd have been knocking on every door that's what George said as soon as it happened yeah I did but then I was like hang on George lit she went to me was like Lucy I'm gonna go and knock on every door in this building I said what so you think they're gonna say excuse me did you steal it and the person that did it would go yeah yeah then I thought hang on a minute I'm probably not the best to quit to go and do that now I'm a little bit scared of our neighbors as well so that's great imagine me um good evening kind sir I just wanted to uh inquire sorry to bother you on this phone um I assume you're about to sit down to watch these six o'clock news however I could ask you if you've robbed me this afternoon and if so did you leave yeah if so can I have just half of it back just yeah we'll make a deal
