In this video, I’ll share with you ten of my favourite items to organise a small kitchen and pantry.
Whether you live in a home or apartment, most of us face similar problems when it comes to
organizing the kitchen and pantry. There just never seems to be enough flat surface and we're
often left digging through a bunch of expired goods that remains out of sight. In this video,
I'll share with you 10 of my favorite items to organize a small kitchen and pantry.
First on the list is a simple command hook. This is a great way to maximize an otherwise
unused space behind a cabinet door for everyday kitchen items such as oven mitts or utensils.
You can also keep them exposed for easy access like I did here with my tea towel.
They are renter-friendly with double backing tape that you can stick on anywhere,
which makes it really versatile to easily accommodate your workflow.
Further maximizing the back of the cabinet door, this pan lid holder from Joseph Joseph
is a great solution to keep all your pan lids from taking up precious space.
Unlike dinnerware, pan lids often came in awkward shapes and sizes that makes it a pain to store as
they won't stack up nicely. This holder also came with a 3M tape that you can stick on any surface.
So your lids will be easily accessible and back to where it belongs when you're done with it.
When it comes to organizing pans and trays, my drawer used to be a mess with things stacking
on top of each other which makes it really hard when I want to get to the bottom most pan.
I then got this extendable pan organizer from Amazon,
which you can freely adjust to fit in your drawer and whatever pan size you have.
This makes it really versatile as it'll work regardless of the size of your cabinet and
cookware. Now, I can easily reach out for what I need and put them back in its place when I'm done
cooking. As I have a deep and narrow cabinet, it can often be a challenge to look for things at
the back. One of the simplest solution to this is using a shelf stand. Not only does it provide
more storage space, it completely transforms the back end of my cabinet and keep things easily
accessible. I also use this to separate bulkier items instead of stacking everything on top of
each other. This makes it easy to reach for things instead of moving a whole stack every time you
want to grab a single item. In the pantry, the shelf stand is great in keeping things at the
eye level, so things won't get lost in the abyss. For those who likes cooking and have lots of
sauces or spices, a lazy Susan is a must-have for your kitchen. I use this to keep all my sauces
easily accessible when cooking, together with a shelf stand to maximize my deep and narrow cabinet.
This way, nothing will ever gets lost and you won't have to scramble around looking for things.
You can also get one with clear compartments, which can be useful to organize items or snacks
by groups. I use this to organize some of my snacks, packet sauces, and instant soup
which used to be a jumbled mess inside a single basket. A really great hack when you have limited
storage is to utilize the space under a shelf. I really like this one from Joseph Joseph,
as it comes with a 3M tape so you can install them anywhere without drilling.
They also make different versions for various use cases, like this drawer for storing small
items such as loose packets, or this bag organizer which is extremely handy to keep
grocery bags tidy. You can also use it to store wrapper or baking foil, which tends to get messy
really easily. Utilizing the space under a shelf really helps maximize storage, especially in a
small space as they tend to be overlooked. If you have lots of canned goods lying around the kitchen,
this can dispenser from Amazon makes it really easy to grab an item and make sure that you're
using older items first. You can use this in the fridge, pantry, cabinets, or even in the garage
to store pet foods. The flat top shelf is also very useful to hold additional pantry items.
Next on the list is this two tire organizer from Madesmart.
This is very handy for storing cooking or loose products around the kitchen,
or you can even use it under the sink to keep cleaning supplies organized.
The downside is that the containers are not fixed, but I've managed to find a hack by placing a felt
pad in between the gap of the feet, so it stays put even when you pull the drawers with one hand.
To keep frequently used spices easily accessible when cooking, I use this magnetic tray from
Yamazaki, which not only looks great, but it also came with a strong magnet backing that you can
easily attach to your fridge. This is especially great if you have an exposed fridge beside the
area, as you can now utilize the space without having to go through any installation process.
The last hack is to maximize vertical spaces by using stackable containers.
There are many options out there to choose from, but I especially like to use these for
longer shelf life items or snacks that I often consume. You can also extend this principle by
using stackable drawers to maximize the vertical space while keeping things out of sight.
And that is a quick look into 10 of my favorite items to organize a small kitchen and pantry.
