KRONG SIEM REAP Touring the riverside night market in Siem Reap cambodia for delicious street food. There were so many vendors, locals, and tourists here it was truly a foodie paradise and heaven of noodles, skewers, and desserts! --------------------------------------- *My Filming Gear (These are Affiliate Links):
What is this?
Okay.
Thank you.
Number one chef?
Yes, number two.
What are they filled with?
They're filled with...
Very nice.
Thank you.
Yeah, thank you, Neat.
Peace.
Alright, what's up, DVW fam?
So we are currently in Siem Reap, Cambodia right now at the city center and we're right
outside of the most popular night street food market here in the town.
It's my very first time here, but in Siem Reap there's this large street called the
Riverside Night Market as you guys can see in the sign behind us where they set up every
night but especially tonight, it's a Friday night, a weekend, dozens if not hundreds of
street food stalls.
It stretches far and wide.
It smells amazing.
So without further ado, we're gonna check out the night street food scenes here in Siem
Reap for you guys and show you guys what they have to offer.
So yeah, let's go.
There are so many stalls, guys.
So there's even drive-thrus with these little scooters.
I actually have a scooter myself.
I could probably do drive-thru action, but I want to show you guys each one.
So this is the night market here on the Riverside and it is beautiful here.
There's so many stalls and people cooking fresh street food here.
So this is, I would say, the central part of it all, kind of like the middle of it.
So there's gonna be these street food vendors and there'll be chairs here for you guys to
enjoy your meal.
So you know how we're gonna do on Danvers?
Well, we're gonna walk around.
We're gonna treat this town like a buffet.
It's almost like a buffet.
There's just a row of street food of all different types of foods and cuisines and you basically
just take your pick.
It stretches far and wide, guys, but let's see what stands out to us.
We had this in the morning.
Hello, hello, sir.
What do we have here?
What kind of meat is this?
Chicken?
Chicken.
All chicken.
Everything is chicken.
Quail.
So we got grilled chicken and quail here, guys.
A bunch of skewers here.
What is this?
It's pork.
Pork.
It's like a sausage.
Oh, this kind of looks like some type of pork hash brown sausage.
Let's try this.
And this is all pieces of the chicken?
Chicken.
It looks like pieces of the chicken.
Can I have one of these?
Chicken leg.
Yes.
Chicken leg?
Yes.
And then I'll have one of these.
Pork.
Yes.
So we found our first stall here.
It smells really good.
So this gentleman here is making some quail.
What is your name, sir?
My name?
Bao.
Banh?
Bao.
Yes.
So we got Bao's meat shop here.
So yeah.
We're going to grab some of this action here at Bao's shop.
This is chicken wings.
Wait, chicken wings?
Yeah.
And what is this?
Chicken gizzards.
Chicken gizzards?
Yeah.
Okay.
What is this?
Chicken butt.
Chicken butt?
Yeah.
Okay.
I'll try a chicken gizzard.
One of these?
Yes.
I'll try one of that.
And then this is pork, right?
Yeah, pork.
And I'll try one chicken thigh.
Yeah.
Nice.
So we're going to try chicken gizzards here.
Very nice.
Chicken can cut.
Oh, should we cut it?
Yeah, sure.
Yeah.
However, it's made to eat.
Wow.
So there's this charcoal grill.
A lot of meat on here.
Oh, so Bao is cutting it up for us.
So he's lathering the chicken gizzards with some sauce.
Same with the chicken thigh.
A lot of sauce on there.
Oh, so they have some dried squid here.
I was like, where is that smell coming from?
So this looks like dried spicy squid.
This is squid?
No, it's beef.
Beef.
Oh, it's beef.
Dried beef.
Oh.
So some other items here as well.
What is this here?
This doesn't look familiar.
Tofu.
Tofu?
Yeah.
Oh, it's tofu.
This is the digs here.
Pretty similar to a lot of other Asian countries, specifically Vietnam.
But little small stools, little plastic tables.
And I've been working on my mobility here in Asia, guys, because you dine, you pop a little squat.
And I guess that's good for your posture as well because, you know, doing a little squatting action.
But yeah, this is a Riverside Night Market.
Gonna enjoy our first meal of the day.
Also, a lot of these look like family establishments because there's a lot of kids running around.
Hello.
Hi.
Hello.
High five.
Yeah.
Pound it.
Right there.
So there's always a lot of kids running around here.
So you'll know that this is a family establishment.
So support local businesses, guys.
Awesome.
Alright, guys.
So we're at Bao's Barbecue Shop.
That's what I'm gonna name it because I don't think there's a name outside.
Or there is, but I cannot read Cambodian.
But this is a hot place, guys.
They take their time.
I've been to, you know, a couple of street food grills already.
And the food is pretty gourmet because they take their time on it.
This took at least 10 minutes to grill.
And it looked like there was a lot of action going on in that grill.
So it's nice and hot.
I'm gonna wait for this to cool down.
But, yeah, let's try some of these chicken gizzards here.
Let's try the chicken gizzards.
Mmm.
This is good.
It's crunchy.
It kind of tastes like tendons.
Like beef tendons but has a slight chicken flavor.
It's better than I thought it'd be.
This has a nice, sweet sauce on the outside.
And it's crunchy.
Mmm.
Tastes a lot of that charcoal grill on it.
Has a nice, light crunch.
Let me use the sauce.
Mmm.
I knew whatever he was grilling up was gonna be good
because he was grilling up a storm in there.
Like I said, this took a while to make.
So they take their time, guys.
They don't just throw it on the grill.
They do a lot of flipping action.
They blanket the meat with a lot of sauces and all that.
I give this chicken gizzards like a 9 out of 10, especially for the price.
If I don't tell you the prices,
you can assume that everything that I order,
like each piece will be a dollar or less
or maybe like 50 cents more or something like that.
But yeah, for the value, this is insane.
9 out of 10 DVW score.
This is good.
Mmm.
Alright, let's try these pork sausage here.
Mmm.
Wow, this is really good right here.
Oh, there's a nice, sweet glaze.
Mmm.
Nice crisp to the outside.
It's more like a pork cake than sausage.
Kinda tastes like a consistency of like a fish cake.
But it's pork.
I actually prefer this more than like a fish cake.
Nice crisp on the outside.
Guys, so unassuming and surprising is the word
I'll use to describe Cambodian street food
because I feel like a lot of the food I've been eating
have been pretty gourmet, like really, really good.
I also love that you can see the whole cooking process.
You see that they take their time, their care, and their love
into each dish.
And yeah, it's really good.
Surprisingly, very good.
Mmm.
I like this dish.
But that sauce is fire.
Whatever sauce he put on there, he lathered it on with that paintbrush.
It's like a little sweet, sweet action tangy.
Also another 9 out of 10.
Alright, let's try this little chicken thigh.
Mmm.
Extremely juicy.
Oh my gosh, there's a nice grill on it.
The key to all these dishes is the charcoal grill.
There's like a charcoal flavor.
And then when he slaps on that little sweet marinade,
it just finishes off the dish.
I can tell this is gonna be my favorite item.
I love a good chicken thigh.
It's a little bit fattier than like a chicken breast
or anything like that.
And it's very juicy.
The skin on the grill really pops,
and it's really nice and crispy.
And like, that sweet sauce is a 10 out of 10.
This is a 10 out of 10 dish.
Mmm.
I barely have to bite it.
Cambodian street food is underrated, guys.
Whoo!
It's fire.
I'm cleaning everything.
Everything to the bone.
Whoo, look at this skin.
It doesn't need the sauce,
because there's already a nice sweet sauce.
But I'm gonna use some of this sauce that he gave us.
Mmm.
More thick, tangy,
almost like a sweet and sour fish sauce action.
But, wow.
Po's Grill is insane.
10 out of 10 for this whole experience here.
Underrated Cambodian street food.
Mmm.
So, I wanna get, you know, so much items at each spot,
but it's gonna be a food tour,
so we gotta hold ourselves to get some more food elsewhere.
Let's go.
All right, so we just came from right here,
and we're going right next door,
because this place is very popular.
I saw so many people go in and out of here.
So, this looks like a noodle place.
I saw people kept ordering the noodles,
so we're gonna get the noodle soup with beef.
So many items here.
Fried rice, rice lop-lop.
So, we got auntie here in the back.
What is your name?
Kuntia.
Kuntia?
Kuntia.
Hello, nice to meet you, Kuntia.
Kuntia is gonna make us the noodle soup with beef.
Looks like she has a nice big pot there.
Everyone in Cambodia is so friendly.
All smiles all around.
Very nice.
Pairing our noodles there.
It looks like rice noodles.
Beef.
Finish it off with some soup.
Very nice.
Some garlic flakes.
Very nice.
I'm gonna eat it right over here.
Thank you.
All right, guys.
I know I said I was gonna walk down the street
and show you guys all these options,
but all the food looks so good
that I just can't stop myself from stopping at each spot
and just grabbing one of their dishes.
We got some beef noodle soup here.
Kind of looks like pho,
but let's call it the Cambodian beef noodle soup.
So, actually the rice noodle looks a lot thinner
and kind of harder in texture.
Almost more al dente.
And some bean sprouts in here.
Lettuce, beef.
Let us try out this dish here, guys.
So, a lot different than pho broth.
It's very garlicky.
So, the soup is so much different than a pho noodle soup.
I can't stop eating the soup.
It's so comforting.
If you guys have had Vietnamese hủ tiếu before,
it's kind of like that hủ tiếu, like the soup.
Porky broth.
I'm sure there's pork bone in this.
Garlicky.
Very flavorful, comforting.
And I would say underrated and underpriced
because the quality of these soups and items
far surpasses, you know, the prices
because this is very good food.
You know what I like to compare this as?
One big buffet or like a whole food court
where you have so many options
because each stall specializes in a certain item
like skewers, soups.
So, you guys could just go to every place
and then sit down at a table with your friends
and then grab your meal.
So, yeah.
The word is variety.
It's like a whole big buffet out here.
Let's try out these noodles.
So, also different than pho noodles.
I'll say they're more thin.
Like a little harder texture.
More al dente.
So, visually it looks like pho
but it doesn't taste anything like pho, really.
So, let's try some of this beef.
Little thin slices of rare steak here.
Pretty good, pretty good.
Similar to like the rare steak in pho.
This is the most similar part of pho, I would think.
The beef.
You guys are sleeping on Cambodian street food.
Convenient for locals and tourists alike.
Another 9 out of 10 DBWs for it.
It's very delicious.
It's like a food party out here
in this Riverside Night street market, guys.
Very fun every night.
Lively.
A lot of locals and tourists out having great food.
Awesome.
So, that noodle bowl and all those skewers
were only $4.
Of course, I tipped them, you know, way more than that.
So, make sure you guys tip your vendors.
Oh, our pancake banana stall is leaving.
No, I was actually gonna get one from her.
Alright, so on to our next street food spot.
I feel like if you guys wanna try a lot of food,
you guys just gotta get up and go
because just in one little corner,
there's just so much delicious-looking
and tasty-smelling food.
Looks like, I don't know what this looks like.
So, we're gonna move on to the next location.
Some pancake.
Wow, looks like she's whipping up a storm
with those pancakes here.
Some dessert.
I've seen a lot of these fried ice cream rolls.
They usually charge a premium when you're out at a bar
or at a restaurant or something for a beer.
Usually, like a $1 beer at a store
might cost like $5, $6 back home.
Even out here at the bars and on the streets,
the beer will still be like $1, $2 max.
That's the value of Cambodia, guys.
So, Khmer food here.
Oh, some french fries.
I might get some french fries.
Bok choy, some fruit stands.
There's a lot of pancake shops.
So, there's gonna be a lot of repeat items.
So, you just gotta pick and choose.
So, we got pancakes.
Nam krok coconut rice cakes.
Ooh, this looks really cool here.
I might try this.
Hello.
What are these?
Coconut rice cakes.
Awesome.
Looks really good.
Oh, nice. Can I have one?
So, this serving here is $1.
Nam krok coconut rice cakes.
So, $7 for $1.
Ooh, they're serving a banana leaf.
Yes.
What is your name?
Yes.
Thank you.
Yes.
I'm great.
Better now that I'm gonna try these rice cakes.
Or coconut cakes.
Oh, I was right.
Coconut rice cakes.
How do you...
Sure.
How do you usually eat it?
Yeah.
A little coconut milk on there.
Thank you.
I'm sorry, what?
Hot, it's hot.
Yeah.
Okay.
Thank you.
So, we got our coconut rice cakes here.
And we're eating right behind their stall.
So, this place doesn't have a table.
So, we're gonna make do.
Let's try this out.
Oh, it's hot.
I gotta wait a little bit.
She was right, it's very hot.
Alright, so we're gonna try these Cambodian coconut rice cakes for the first time.
Let's try it out.
It's hot.
Mmm.
That is so good.
There's like a corn taste coming from here.
And I see a little piece of corn here.
Oh, but the texture is insane.
It's like a pancake on the outside.
A little bit crispy.
Very crispy, actually.
And the inside, it's like a rice, mochi-like consistency.
Glutinous.
Mmm.
That is so good.
My taste buds are dancing right now.
So, I definitely recommend to get the condensed milk on top.
Because, like how Asians like their dessert.
Not too sweet.
So, it's not too sweet.
So, you get a lot of the sweetness from the little condensed milk they put on the outside.
But it has a slight coconut flavor.
Not too much, but the texture is insane.
It's like a coconut rice cake.
So, crispy pancake shell on the outside.
A little fluffy, doughy on the inside.
Mmm.
Extremely soft and chewy from the inside.
Oh, this is really good.
The shop owner kept warning me.
It's super hot.
She's worried right now.
She's looking at me and like wincing because she sees that it's so hot.
It's burning my taste buds.
But they're so good that I want to keep eating more at a rapid rate.
That's how good they are, guys.
They're so good that I don't have to care about my taste buds while eating them.
Oh, so this one has a banana in it.
Oh, potato, sweet banana.
Oh, wait.
Banana, sweet potato, and corn.
Oh, yeah.
So, it has a natural sweetness.
There's some caramelized bananas in here.
Sweet potatoes and corn.
And, yeah, that's why I said I had like a corn taste because corn is a little sweet.
Banana is a little sweet.
And sweet potato is of course sweet.
So, it's like an Asian dessert.
Very slight sweetness.
Very delicious.
And $1 for this plate.
Solid deal.
Mmm.
I don't know if they're all mixed with the same filling.
But I feel like each of them have a different filling.
That one was more banana tasting.
And the other one, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, they're different filling in each one.
So, this one was corny.
Like some of my jokes.
It tastes like corn.
The banana ones are my favorite because banana is a pretty sweet fruit.
So, this one is filled with banana.
Let's find the one with sweet potato.
I'm going with sweet potato.
It's pretty good.
9 out of 10, guys.
That condensed milk is crazy.
Texture, crispy, and crazy.
This?
What are they filled with?
They're filled with banana, corn.
Do you want one?
Yeah, I'm thinking about getting that.
You can choose a variety of fillings.
So, it has banana, corn, sweet potato.
It's like a crispy crepe on the outside.
It's a coconut banana rice cake.
It's very good.
Try one.
You're willing to share one with me?
Yeah, try one.
Yay!
Where are you from?
I'm from Germany.
Germany, nice.
What is your name?
Can I try the banana one?
I'm Kiki.
Kiki.
You're on YouTube, by the way.
That's on YouTube?
Yeah, that's for YouTube.
Okay, I need to get your channel.
Alright, Kiki, try one.
Try one.
Tell me your honest reviews.
This is super candid, by the way.
Kiki just randomly approached me while I was eating this.
They're good, huh?
They're really good.
They're so crispy from the outside and then get so smooth on the inside.
That's what I said.
The consistency is insane.
I'm definitely going to have some.
Oh my goodness.
Yeah.
Thanks for sharing with me.
Yeah, yeah.
What would you rate this?
1 out of 10.
1 out of 10?
I do miss a bit of sugar in it.
I was just going to say that.
Not too sweet.
That's how Asians like their dessert, not too sweet.
Yeah.
But they're good for people that don't like too sweet stuff because Asian people do like
to over-sweeten things very often.
I'd go for...
Honest rating.
I'd give it a 6 out of 10.
6 out of 10?
Okay.
Like dessert.
Okay, yeah, yeah.
If it counts as dessert.
I would call it like a savory dessert.
Like a savory dessert.
Savory dessert, yeah.
Well, then it's rather like an 8 out of 10.
Yeah.
Akun Tran.
Yeah.
That's how you're supposed to greet people after you leave.
Akun means thank you.
Tran means thank you very much.
So yeah, we're going to keep walking around and seeing what other food we could grab.
And this is an absolutely beautiful area of the city.
This is the riverside.
And in the nighttime, they light up all the bridges and they put lights all around the city.
It's very quaint, cute, beautiful.
Look at this.
But yeah, guys, it's like a maze of street food.
It's street food heaven.
Street food galore here in Siem Reap.
I'm about to try some for you guys.
But I just want to show you guys the vibes.
So even across the street, across the river.
So it's called the Riverside Night Market because it's riverside.
There's a river right over here.
And right across the river, you can find street food and street markets, souvenirs.
We were just there.
So make sure you guys checked out that video if you guys want to see our street market video.
Guys, I feel like I can't get past, like, the first corner of this street food market
because everywhere I see, it looks like it's so good food.
Such good food.
Yeah, a lot of happy faces.
A lot of smiles here in Cambodia.
It's a beautiful city, Siem Reap.
Oh, so it looks like there's some fresh seafood here.
50 cents for each?
I'm sold.
Let's see.
Looks like some squid.
Dried squid.
Looks like a squid spot here.
Maybe cuttlefish?
So this is the first seafood spot I've seen.
And a fruit stand.
But yeah, so it looks like some Pho, Bo noodles here.
Khmer noodles.
Khmer food here.
Pho, Bo noodles.
Oh, so another seafood stand.
Hello.
Cambodian food.
Cambodian food, yeah.
Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand.
Wow.
All Cambodian.
And you're cooking everything.
Yeah, very good chef.
That's the chef.
Number one chef.
Yeah, number two.
Number two.
Number one, number two.
Number one in Siem Reap?
Yeah.
In all of Siem Reap?
Yeah, number one.
Guys.
Because very long at the hotel, restaurant and shop.
10 years.
And just here, 9 years.
9 years, alright.
So, hey, I'm sold.
She came up to me and said this is number one chef.
Yeah, number one chef.
We gotta check it out.
What's the number one item here?
All because Cambodia.
Oh, okay.
Khmer, Amok, curry.
Curry, okay.
Luk Luk.
Oh, I'll do Luk Luk.
Yeah, I've been wanting to try Luk Luk.
Yeah.
Yes.
Oh, yeah.
These number ones and number two chefs are cooking up a storm.
He didn't look too happy that I called him number two.
But that's what she said.
Oh, yeah.
That looks really good.
We're right in the kitchen, guys.
Literally from kitchen to table.
Right here, table's right there.
Whatever they're doing at these three food stalls is insane
because the smell is coming out of each of these stalls.
I can't describe it.
It smells so good.
It's like a siren reeling me in for food.
But instead of like with a song, it's with smells.
Number one and number two chefs in Siem Reap, guys.
Seems like I've reached a very popular place.
There's actually too many customers than food at this point to go around
and not all of them are like that.
Well, actually, they're all pretty packed today.
So you also won't run out of beverages spots as well.
There's like this little beverage stall smoothie over there.
So I got a little brewski to cool down my taste buds.
One dollar.
Salute.
By the number one chef in Siem Reap.
Sirloin with a bowl of rice.
And an egg.
Wow.
All right, guys.
So at our next spot, gonna try Cambodian Luk Lok beef here.
So this is actually a very typical Cambodian dish.
Oh, I just touched that egg and squirted it out with egg yolk here.
Let us try it out.
It's gonna be my first time trying Luk Lok in Cambodia.
So we're gonna compare it to balu blok in Vietnam.
There's a lot of overlapping similar dishes I'm seeing.
Like the pho, beef noodle soup.
Kind of look like a beef noodle soup, but it's more hủ tiếu.
So I had a different pork based broth.
But this looks like, doesn't really look like balu blok.
They're in cubes.
I'm only calling it that because it's called Luk Lok.
This looks thinner.
Some onions in there.
Different looking type of sauce.
Let's try it out.
Mmm.
Wow.
A lot different.
Mmm.
This is a lot different than balu blok.
The sauce is kind of vinegary.
Vinegary, almost.
Tastes a little bit like tomatoey.
Almost like ketchup or tomato paste in there.
And like a sweet, savory, a little peppery.
But this rice is really good.
It's almost like al dente rice.
It's like crunchy.
Like each grain is separated.
And it's like in little clumps.
Mmm.
There's actually some salt, pepper, lime to dip with your Luk Lok.
If you guys want more flavor.
But all these dishes already have a lot of flavor to it.
So yeah.
My first Luk Lok experience in Siem Reap.
By apparently the number one chef in Siem Reap.
Pretty good.
Mmm.
It's like some rare steak.
Cut nice and thin.
With a nice vinegary tomato paste sauce.
And topped with an egg.
So this is Cambodian Luk Lok.
DVW score.
Like an 8.4 out of 10.
DVW score.
Salute.
Mmm.
Alright, gonna finish this off.
And on to our next street food stall.
Let's go.
Oh, and that balu blok, by the way, was $3.
Still a really great steal.
And yeah.
That's the value of Cambodian street food.
So another street food stall here.
Some squid, $0.75.
Okras.
Octopus, oysters.
I had these earlier in the day time.
Another pancake shop.
I'm seeing a lot of these.
Pancake shops.
So a lot of these are repeat items.
So it all just depends on which ones you guys want to go to.
But we start off in that central area.
Because that was right outside of my hotel.
Yeah, just checking out some more street food here.
Smoothies.
Oh, papaya dragon fruit smoothie.
Wow.
Looks very good.
Peace.
Peace to you.
Thank you.
Luk Lok rice.
Thai boat noodle.
What is your name?
Oop.
Oop?
Nice to meet you, Oop.
Oop?
Yeah.
They're so funny in Cambodia.
I was just walking around and she just threw up a peace sign.
Very friendly people in Cambodia.
All smiles, good vibes all around.
Yellow soup.
Some more drinks.
Energy drinks.
Beers.
And right across we have more souvenir stores.
So in this central area, the riverside,
there's a lot of shops, markets, and food, guys.
Food, food, food.
And things to buy.
We've been eating a lot of savory food.
Gonna have to do a pancake or some dessert.
Let's do a dessert and a smoothie.
Yeah, so honestly just wanted to show you guys
this whole street food market.
Guys, this is the tip of the iceberg.
I cannot show you guys everything
because I told you I took a drive down here
earlier in the day a couple days ago
and there is literally street food stalls everywhere.
Across the river, behind the river,
to the side, to the left,
and even when you go into Pub Street,
there's street food there as well.
One thing about Siem Reap is that
you're gonna find street food.
This is street food heaven here.
Galore, paradise, street food paradise.
You're gonna find all types of food.
So yeah, I think I only covered 20%,
but this is the Riverside Night Street Food Market.
And we basically just took a walk
from my hotel down to here.
And yeah, it is a beautiful night.
Friday night, lively,
a lot of people out having fun.
Look across that river.
There's more lights, more stalls and vendors.
Look at that.
That's all street food, guys.
This is all restaurants, street foods on the river.
Very cute city,
quaint and a nice little bridge over there.
This is amazing.
Some more skewers.
Yeah, that dish is crazy.
I like that.
Pancakes.
Let's try these pancakes.
Hello.
How are you?
I'm fine.
What is your name?
Neat.
Nice to meet you, Neat.
This is your shop?
This is Neat's shop right here.
And this is what she offers.
Pancakes, only $1.
What is your favorite pancake?
Banana, pancake, honey, Nutella, chocolate.
Let's do that.
Let's do this.
Banana and honey.
Honey?
Yeah.
Okay, I'll do Nutella if that's easier.
Thank you.
Thank you, Neat.
Hey, little buddy.
How are you doing?
So, Neat here is preparing our pancakes.
Fresh.
Oh, yeah.
Wow.
It's a hand-tossed dough.
The thing about the street food here in Simripzat,
they take their time, guys.
They're actually working and cooking on the food.
It's not just street food where they already have the food prepared
and then they just sell it to you right then
and just heat it up a little bit.
So, I would call these not just street food stalls
but straight up street food kitchens and restaurants
right on the street.
So, even now, Neat is making this pancake very neat.
Yes, that looks amazing.
It's an interesting looking pancake.
I haven't had a pancake like this before.
It kind of looks like a crepe.
So, maybe this is like a Cambodian pancake
because there's a lot of these stalls all over.
Oh, it's like this in this little piece of paper here.
Oh, so I have to rip it apart.
Yeah, so that's how you do it.
Thank you.
Yeah, so you're supposed to rip it apart
and then you take bites of it.
Yeah, this is an interesting pancake concept.
I'm going to walk around with this.
It's hot.
Oh, that's good.
So, I was right.
They're all a family.
So, you said, wait, which one?
Right over there.
And these are all your stalls?
Family businesses?
Yeah.
Nice, pancakes, seafood.
Me and seafood.
Me and food and drinks.
For drinks.
Thank you.
Yeah, I got an inkling that these are all,
you know, not all of them,
but some corners are family-run businesses.
So, she's saying here that this little corner here,
they're all a big family
and they all set up shop next to each other
and kind of help each other do business.
It's really cool.
All right, so we're going to try this Cambodian pancake.
It looks really good.
I've seen these maybe one out of every seven stalls,
there's a pancake shop.
So, Cambodian pancakes must be good
because there's so many of them.
Let's try it out.
Extremely crispy.
Kind of sweet and savory.
Almost more savory than sweet.
There's like some saltiness from the skin.
Mmm.
I feel like it's more of like an eggy, thin crepe.
Oh, yeah.
I just got the sweetness from that banana.
So, the banana they use are the small Asian bananas.
I don't know specifically which country they're from,
probably Cambodia, maybe Cambodia.
They're a little bit sweeter.
When caramelized especially, even more sweet.
Oh, yeah.
So, this is the whole pancake roll.
It is extremely hot.
Like I said, all these foods come out piping hot.
They're cooking them fresh to order.
So, I still haven't really eaten all of it yet,
but let me take another bite.
Mmm.
Funny enough, you know what it reminds me of?
Almost like a donut just because it's so thin,
but then there's oil on it,
so it's very crispy and deep fried
like the outside of a glazed donut.
It's like crispy, but then very airy and chewy
when you bite inside the skin.
It is delicious.
It's crispy, but at the same time,
chewy on the inside.
Great.
And the banana here is a little bit sweeter
because it's the Asian bananas
and it's wrapped with Nutella as well.
There's different toppings and all that.
Yeah, guys, one of these are a dollar.
I love my desserts.
I give this a solid.
I have to give it a 10 out of 10.
It's really good.
It's like a, because there's so many textures
and flavors, like crispy, chewy,
almost like mochi-like consistency,
but there's so much going on here
and it works.
It's not overbearing.
I almost finished this in a few bites.
I think maybe the way the pancake is cooked
is savory,
but then the banana and the Nutella
is what makes it sweet.
Very good dessert here in Cambodia
at the street food market.
Gotta try one of these Cambodian pancakes.
They're fire.
Where'd it go?
It's gone, guys.
I inhaled it.
Thank you.
Appreciate you.
Thank you, Neat.
Your pancakes are very good.
Oh yeah, I'm stuffed.
I had a lot of great food
and I might return for part two,
but the good thing about staying in the city center
or honestly anywhere here,
I'm staying right there, right in front of us,
is that honestly anywhere you stay in Siem Reap,
the good thing is you walk outside
in the city center,
there'll be street food everywhere, guys.
So this is one of those cities
where you wanna bring some food
just in case you're in your hotel
and food's not too accessible,
like you might have to drive
or do something to get to the food,
but here you walk outside
and there's food on every corner.
At the Riverside Night Market here.
More and more street food.
Street food, street food, street food.
There's street food, street food, street food
in every corner here in Siem Reap, guys.
I don't think I've been to a city in Asia
that's so dense and compacted with street food.
Seriously, every corner.
It's amazing.
If you guys couldn't tell,
I am in shock but also very happy
because I love food
and I'm surrounded by it right now
in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
So yeah, this is my hotel right here
and then this is the street food market.
Very convenient.
I'll do the mango pineapple passion fruit shake.
That sounds really good.
Kenta.
Thank you, Kenta.
So this is Kenta's fresh fruit shake stand here.
I've been to a lot of fresh fruit shakes
in a lot of the countries I've been in.
Philippines, Vietnam and now here.
So we'll check out the fresh smoothies here
but the fruit in Asia are amazing.
And that's the thing about Asia, guys.
They have amazing fruits everywhere.
And so I got like a dragon fruit shake with mango.
So real fresh fruit in the back.
This is like the Cambodian jamba juice.
Yeah.
All right.
So we got our shake here.
So yeah, a lot of fresh fruit shake stands here.
I got like a mango passion fruit, dragon fruit.
You can see the dragon fruit shells here.
Let's try it out.
Guys, this is $1 fresh mango.
All right, let's try it out.
Oh my goodness.
Delicious fresh mango, guys.
Southeast mangoes.
Southeast Asian mangoes are nothing to play with.
You taste a lot of that dragon fruit mango in here.
That's so refreshing.
I love fruit smoothies.
It's $1. This is crazy.
You guys can't beat the street food in Cambodia, guys.
I'm so happy that I came here.
The food industry here is actually very, very amazing.
Especially for the prices, too.
It's unbelievable, honestly.
The amount of quality and care they put into the food.
We got this one right here.
How much was this, Andrew?
Before we get to that, I want to ask, in America,
where would you go to get a drink like that?
Like a jamba juice.
How much would they charge?
Nowadays, like $9 for this.
Man, that's unreal.
You can't get fresher than this.
And it's 10% of the cost less.
Unreal.
How about in Australia?
We have a place called Boost Juice.
So Boost Juice is kind of in every shopping mall.
They do that kind of stuff.
They do banana smoothies.
But yeah, you're paying for that size,
you're paying like $10 easy.
And this is amazing.
This is a 10 out of 10 DVW score.
Passion fruit, mango, dragon fruit, all fresh.
Thank you so much.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, I got Andrew to come out of the hotel
to get some street food here.
What do you got, Andrew?
Tell them what time it is.
What time is it?
It is 11.40pm, and we're out here trying street food.
Guys, I actually don't know the name of the dish,
but it's beef, there's bok choy,
there's a nice fried egg on top,
and you got the nice thick rice noodles.
Guys, I'll tell you,
it smells really good.
To be fair, I'm smelling mainly egg
because that's on the top,
but that plate is burning.
Oh my god, that is fresh, fresh.
Yeah, that's the thing about the street food here,
it's so gourmet and it looks very good,
and the prices always amaze me.
How much was this, like $2, $3?
I think this was $2.50,
and that was $1, look at that.
That is a banana and Oreo shake.
Yeah.
Guys, that's like, what do you guys call it?
What's a 40 ounce in America?
I don't know your title, but that's like...
That's a big one, that's a large.
That's like almost a liter in Australia,
that's a big drink.
They're really whipping up, guys.
A lot of fried noodles with beef,
and it was $1.50, super filling meal.
The value here in Siem Reap is insane
because the quality of the food
is actually very good as well.
But yeah, like I said,
a lot of repeat shops here I noticed,
like the dessert shops, skewer shops,
and more shakes, but yeah.
I haven't been to one spot
where I didn't like the food yet.
I've been to a couple street food spots already.
Street food in Siem Reap is unreal.
All right, we finally got these ice cream rolls.
They're everywhere in the city
and all over the night market as well,
but this is an appropriate nightcap.
We got a Pattaya dragon fruit ice cream roll here.
It was mesmerizing just watching him make it.
He was whipping up all the food
for at least five minutes,
and all these spots as well.
They cook a fresh order, even the ice cream.
Yeah, this particular one is in the pub street
where it's really loud,
so we brought it over here to try it out.
Look, it looks like little fruit roll-ups
in the form of ice cream here,
and we saw him make it fresh.
He had that little cup, and it froze right away.
Let's try it out.
Andrew wasn't lying.
The texture's unreal.
My first ice cream roll experience,
it was pretty sweet,
but it was only like a little sheet of paper
because we saw the yogurt and milk
that he used with the dragon fruit,
but yeah, fresh dragon fruit ice cream rolls.
Pretty fire.
Give it like a 9 out of 10 DVW score.
All the food here has been great,
and this was $2.50.
This is the Riverside Night Street Food Market
here in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Had a lot of delicious, great food here,
so yeah, we're going to return
for more and more new foods,
but for now, let's take a break,
for more food and travel vlogs
in Cambodia and all around the world,
and yeah, see you guys in the next video.
Deuces.
