Well, so cheeky from Brazil, Akos went in search, Gabi all smiles,
well she might totally allowed any part of the body. Brazil famous for their volleyball.
Oh what a block by Gabi, what a block, she's got that one right.
I want to see it, was the ball in? Sometimes look at the block, it's impressive, but
indeed it was. The Dutch side saw that coming, but just couldn't react quickly enough to it. Gabi with
the tip, the minute she took off with her hand in front, there was never a hit coming.
Oh no, way, way, no way, I said oh. I said you really can't believe it. Oh man,
Gabi is so elite in her offense, I mean the exact same play, but this time
sees the libero has waited. Again, oh that's a great block, Gabi on Aki Madewu.
It's a nice move, dives in at the last minute.
The slide is coming, and look at Gabi's drop. Great play, clever play, and it's wide,
and Gabi, captain of this Brazilian team, has just earned her side an invaluable start,
with a bit of keepy-up. The backside, and that's Gabi. Oh man, the wind-up too,
technical. We have something very special, for the first time Brazil is leading on five or six,
and normally they're always 7-4 behind, and now they will go to 7-4 in front, Brazil.
They might not, oh that's, they will go, no Carol, not do this. You know what I mean? Oh,
what a big up, oh that's incredible by Kudies. Now it's that Carol was running for the ball on the net.
Good, better chance maybe for Gabi now, can get a swing, yes.
Well yeah, so Brazil do take the point, but it's not Carol. You saw also Carol was running on that,
she was losing a bit of control, playing over, then running under the net,
and so we have, oh it's a 6-3 timeout. I think both coaches are better than us.
For those of you wondering, who are just joining us, we now know.
Separates each set into three very distinct parts.
In the middle phase, Brazil playing well. What a hit from Gabi.
Massive concerns after. Four points in this set.
Chance to get one back. Oh, oh well played Gabi.
That's incredible, that ball has come from right behind her head.
Brazil starting to smile, they are feeling themselves getting closer and closer to the
end line, but even the plays that are not beautiful, I mean that's just a clever shot.
Brazil participation in finals week. Second set is underway, and it starts with a big block.
Carol was there, but it might have been Gabi that got it. It was the deadly tandem once again,
and that came back, a stuffed block right off the bat. Oh yeah, great work by Gabi.
She knows she's alone as well, because China put themselves in here.
Gabi is picked up. Can they keep it alive? Can they just hoist it over there? Gong has done
exactly that. Free ball Brazil. Roberta's had to struggle with that, and oh is that a miss?
No, just caught it. Yeah, again Gabi needing to get a little bit more involved in these sets.
She's at 25 points now, but it was, it's only been a couple of points this entire last set,
and they said that she's... Brazil will know that. Good touch. Oh, that's wonderful play from Brazil.
Like I told before, sometimes you have rallies where everybody's doing perfect.
A serve, a good passing, a great set, a great spike, a great defense, a great coming back. Okay,
this happens. It was a good touch, she tried to slow it. With Poulter to start and serve for the USA.
They need to strike back. Poulter into position.
Larson going for the pipe, but Gabi was ready. Acriste then feeds Tandara. What a good opening
rally this is. Lovely block, but it's still up. Supreme effort by Brazil to keep this perfect play.
It's a mega rally. We could be here all night until Thompson trying to get over the block.
Succeeded only in going over the back line.
Also on court, Torri Dixon through the middle, and Lauren Carlini comes back in a playmaker
as Drews nails it straight into Mara and Gabi's block again. What a start for Brazil to this
third set. They lead two love, one set away from their first VNL title. Nice from Gabi,
lovely bit of hang time. Okay, technically it has to be played there, because they play Gabi
against Oro. They use the shoot with Carroll, who's always a threat, and then you have the
one-on-ones. Because he lived till 16 in Germany. Thanks, lovely piece of information from Franco,
one of the huge volleyball fans watching on BBTV. But Gabi is sound Brazilian. I'm not sure enough,
but it looks Brazilian. It was a great Brazilian spike. Look, yeah,
high over the block. Oh, what a block that is. I thought for a moment that Kira Keller just
squeezed that through, but no, no getting past Carroll. But what's interesting, like who will
win the match? You cannot expect that 2DS, who's 19, will do something. It has to be Gabi.
They can't keep it in play. Another down the line serve. Priscilla picks that up. Gabi goes
for the duck. Sweet. There is nobody within two meters of that ball when it hits the floor.
That is so hard to achieve at this level. But Gabi's disguised it. She's driving in. Here she
goes. She's gonna swing. She's not gonna swing. She's gonna dink. That's one of the best pickups
ever. London 2012, and Fabi chasing it down for Brazil. I've seen a few from Gabi, though. Yes,
they're all pretty good at it. So that's decent enough. Side out achieved. Still behind by two,
but still plenty of points to play with here for Brazil to get and take this set.
It's all on the line right now. Blocking from Brazil.
That really well to deal with this attack that comes from the right side from Japan. Jordan
Thompson, who played brilliantly. Drew's knows that she's got Thompson breathing down her neck.
She's also got Castelo, who is the number one opposite for the USA. So for Drew's, it's all
about making sure that she plays well enough to stay on court and impress the coach. That's a
great block from Gabi. And right now, she gets credited with a monster block. Drew's is over two.
Diana, plenty of spin on that. Netherlands scratch it back.
Tip there from Baish. Oh, you see Baish there pointing at where to block, and three of them
scurry across to try and cover. But Brazil get a good slice of fortune here off this.
So that's the set, and that's the. That's a tough miss. Gotta forget about it now, though.
We're level. We move on. Kissy picks that up. Gabi will swing from.
Defense and then Gabi. That's the story today is just. I mean, there's a lot of work to do
with that swing, and she just made it look like there's nobody on the other side of the court.
Yeah, how does she find those gaps?
