Eating ONLY at 7-Eleven in Hong Kong for 24 hours

Only eating at 7-Eleven's in Hong Kong for a full day. Hello everyone! 大家好! Welcome to a new video. A lot of you may know me from Instagram, where I used to do a lot of only eating at... And one of my first ever popular video on Instagram was actually only eating at 7-Eleven for a full day. So I thought, why not do it again, but this time in YouTube form. I'm gonna slowly move my food content onto YouTube. So make sure you subscribe because there's way more to come. It is 10.36 and breakfast service is until 11 a.m. So let's go to 7-Eleven to get some breakfast. Let's see what they have. So we have this little snack bar section where there's a bunch of steamed goodies, noodles, dim sum, you name it. For breakfast, I kept it simple. I went for gōngzái mì, which is just instant noodles with fish balls and siu mai. And of course, I have to start my morning off with black coffee. And I was super satisfied with my choice. I just got back from breakfast and I picked up another set to show you other options that you can get at 7-Eleven in Hong Kong. We have two tá siu bao. Tá siu bao is a barbecue pork bun. The outside is super fluffy and the inside is filled with barbecue pork. And don't forget to peel the paper under the bun. Let me show you what the inside looks like. Up next, we have siu mai. I got this in my other set and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have that more today. It's my favorite Hong Kong street snack. It's just so chewy. It has this like not too fishy, but I don't know, it's just a good snack. And I think a lot of people who didn't grow up in Hong Kong when they first taste it, they are a bit skeptical. Like they just don't get it. And I also get it too if you're not too appealed by this snack because it is something that you kind of have to grow up eating to enjoy. But this with soy sauce, chili oil, it's perfection. Not to get confused with the siu mai at a dim sum restaurant because they do have the same name and they do have this sort of yellow wrapping around it. But this one is made with fish paste. It's a street snack rather than a restaurant food. Whereas the dim sum restaurant siu mai is made with pork and shrimp and it's a different thing. Personally, I prefer real siu mai. Then we have a classic milk tea. Traditionally, our milk tea is made with condensed milk. It gives this really silky and smooth texture. It's really good. So yeah, I would call breakfast a success. It was cheap, it was filling, it was good. Let's see what I'm gonna have for lunch. It is lunchtime and I am hungry. I couldn't help myself but go back to the steam section where I got indomie with siu mai again. And a huge sausage with ketchup and mustard. So I was just chomping away my indomie, my siu mai, my sausage and it was kind of awkward, I'm not gonna lie. I'll explain later on in real time. I mean, of course, if you're not into the steam section, there are also a bunch of ready-made meals that are in the refrigerator section where you can just pop into the microwave. And after lunch, I always feel like I need something sweet. So I went for a little dessert. I apologize for going mute on you guys but I have good reason. You guys have probably watched a bunch of other YouTubers doing these type of videos where they are able to talk and sit down and have a spot to just like kind of eat their food at the convenience store. Yeah, that's not the case in Hong Kong. As you know, everything in Hong Kong is very small because we have very limited space. That includes our convenience stores also. In Hong Kong, you get a little corner with like a little island of table at best. You know, some or actually most don't provide that and you just kind of have to stand awkwardly eating your food with other people next to you. Like you all share this like little square table with the bin right under. Like there's not even like a separate part for the bin. Like space is used very efficiently here. So yeah, I apologize for going mute on you guys. It was very awkward. It was lunchtime and obviously people are trying to enjoy their food. I'm not about to be like, Hey guys, so I'm here to have my... I'm not gonna be that person, right? I couldn't take the awkwardness any longer. So I brought my dessert to go. I got these mochi ice creams that have been around forever. Like before the whole trend of mochi ice cream even existed. We have had these for a long time. This is ssukmai tea and it's really, really good. Come on, I like it. Okay, this is what it looks like. You get this little fork here and you kind of just stab it. And here we go. So we've got the vanilla ice cream in the middle and you have this thin layer of mochi around it. So that was lunch. I'll see you for dinner. For dinner, I told myself I can't go back to the steam section again for the third time. So I went into the refrigerator section and got a ready-to-go meal. And yes, it is a Coca-Cola flavored egg. All right, you guys, it is dinner time. I've grabbed myself a mui choy khao yuk fan which is rice with pork and preserved vegetables. I saw online that this mui choy khao yuk is super legit so I knew I had to get this one. And for those who are not familiar with this dish, it is actually quite a difficult dish to make at home. So to see it at a convenience store is pretty impressive. But let's see if it's actually tasty or not. Then I grabbed myself, I mean, I just couldn't resist seeing the soft-boiled egg with cola flavor. Like why Coca-Cola of all flavors? But for you guys, I will be trying it out. Then my drink of choice is this taro milk drink. And this is my dessert. For my viewers who are not in Asia, you may think, how is this a dessert? Well, it is actually super yummy. It is a purple rice and coconut milk drink. So delicious. A lot of Chinese desserts come in liquid form or soup form and it's meant to have health benefits. This is meant to give you some color in your face. It says here, yik hei yar ngan, which I mean, I can definitely use some color on my face. Don't sleep on liquidy desserts. They're really good. I had the option to microwave this at the store, but I thought I'd just eat it in the comfort of my own home and I can chat with you guys at the same time. I've decided to just bring it home, heat it up here and show you guys what it looks like. So I'm just opening it up now to show you what it looks like. It's difficult doing it with one hand. Bear with me. And I assume the rice is the bottom here. Okay, so I'm going to quickly microwave it and show you guys what it looks like. I've just microwaved the mo choy kao you and it's looking super legit. Like it looks like it could be from a restaurant. That's pretty insane. This costs HK$32. That's like four US dollars. But is it any good? Let's try. Yeah, this is legit. So this is what it looks like close up. Here's the meat and here's the preserved veggie. Actually, the preserved veggie adds so much flavor with the rice. Oh, it's just so good. Okay, now it's time to try the cola flavored eggs. Please don't ruin my meal. Tastes like Coca-Cola. What? Whose idea was it? Here she is. Cola flavored egg. Try it. Like, why? I'll eat it, but why? It literally tastes like egg drenched in Coca-Cola. I'm actually gonna try to take a sip of this cola juice. You're going back. You're going back inside. Yeah, um, don't do it. Just eat regular eggs. You'll be fine. Don't worry, I'll still eat it. I just won't be very happy eating it. Actually, to prove it, I'm just gonna finish it now on camera. I'm just gonna mix it with some more rice. You know what? While we're here, I'm just gonna drink the milk. Kind of just wash it down. I'm swallowing. This is really yummy. I love taro flavored things. Then it's now time to try the dessert. Maybe I should shake it first because you can see all the rice at the bottom. It's not moving. It's like concrete. Okay. And that's dinner! Which means you have reached to the end of this video.
