Good morning guys, we're starting the vlog outside of the apartment today. It's a miracle.
That is a first. It's a Christmas miracle. We have left the house. No, we always leave the house but
I don't know, we just feel like, I feel like I always start the vlog in the apartment. Do you
think the same? Yeah. Yeah. So we've come to some brunch today and we've got a very busy day ahead
of us. We've got a full day of Christmas prep basically. We've got a big food shop to do later
so we're getting fuelled up this morning. We've got a load to do today. I feel like every vlog
we start and we're like, we're busy but that's life. You're always gonna, you're gonna have a
to-do list when you die. Oh thank, thanks for that. It's no, it is true. Starting a vlog with
a cheerful, on a cheerful note. I think people get so caught up on to-do lists but it's okay,
it's okay. It's a good thing to have a to-do list to keep busy. That's true. And you're always gonna
have one so don't worry about it. Get it done obviously. I'm not saying don't do your to-do
list. Just know that it's gonna, it's never ending. That's life. Okay, deep chats with Lucy
this morning. We have come out to, you might have seen in the vlog where Kim and Tom were staying
in an Airbnb literally over the road. This is where I quickly ran out in the morning to get
a coffee. It's a quite a new coffee shop in our local area. It's really nice. We've been speaking
to the guys here on Instagram, followed each other and stuff. They've actually invited us for brunch
today. So huge thanks to The Laughing Dog in Worthing. Where can I get you in? This place
here, if you're ever in the area, coffee's great here. This is kind of like a local coffee spot for
me. Definitely one of my favourites in town and their menu looks amazing. We're just trying to
decide what to have because they've got, they do stuff like avocado toast, poached eggs on toast,
full breakfast. They do like a full English type thing. I wish I could eat brie right now. They do
a red onion chutney with bacon and brie toast. I can't have brie. I keep thinking like there's so
many things during pregnancy obviously that you can't do and can't have and I'm thinking at the
end of it I get a baby out of it. But also I keep forgetting that I can do things again. I can drink
alcohol. I can drink as much coffee as I want. I can like do handstands randomly if I want to. I
can do like pull ups. I can jump around a bit more. If the day's out, you're away. The day after birth
you're back in the gym, back on it. That's not recommended. But yeah, things like brie. I'm
missing out on the Christmas cheeses this year. Oh yeah. You're going to have to buy me like a
cheese board as my push present. That's true. Yeah, that's true. Okay, so we're going to order
some breakfast, order some coffee. We're then today going to go and do a huge Christmas
food shop. So that's exciting. So we are going to get stuff like, are we still going to buy cheeses
and things? I can have a lot of cheese. Okay, so we can go to the supermarket in a little bit and
try and get some nice food in for Christmas.
Here we go. This is what we needed. Cheers guys. Cheers to whatever you're up to today. Hope you're
all doing well. Hope you're having a nice festive time. This coffee's great. I come alive like that
first sip of coffee in the day. Come alive. Wow, our breakfast has come. So we have some sourdough,
some mushrooms, some streaky bacon, some poached eggs, some cherry tomatoes and some homemade,
sorry, Lucy's getting the Instagram. We've got some homemade barbecue beans.
Oh, is that what that smell is? Yeah. Oh, it smells so good. Okay, try it, try it, try it.
Oh, nice. Very nice. That is a good poached egg. Very nice. Okay, I'm going to try a bit of the
bacon. I haven't had bacon for a while. It's good. The bread looks nice.
Like beans. Yum, yum, yum. It almost tastes Christmas-y. Does it? Really nice. Festive.
Perfect start to the day here. They have also bought out this, which is their
banana and blueberry and nuts brunch. It's chia. That is nuts. Chia jam. Chia jam. With like almonds,
there's cinnamon. So good. Do you know what? We've been looking for food just like this because we
used to, if you watch the blogs a little while ago, when we were in BGC in the Philippines,
we used to go to Shaka, which was like smoothie bowls, a very good spot for brunch. They would
do things that looks a little bit like this. And we've been searching for that kind of
replacement, I suppose. And there's a little bit of cinnamon on there. Keeping in with the
festive theme. Peanut butter as well. I feel like the middle bit's going to be the best bit.
Such a good comment. I might just cut it in half and go out with it. Yeah, yeah, do that, do that,
do that, do that. And blueberries. We're obsessed with blueberries lately. Such a good fruit for
you. The best berry you can have. So many health benefits. Antioxidants. And there's a bit of
chocolate. There's a chocolate on it. Cacao. Oh, real cacao on there as well. This is my kind of
thing, actually. I would put this in a blender and have it as a smoothie, including the bread.
Try and have a mouthful of everything and we'll go.
Wow, that is so good. Every flavour. Really? There's so much going on. I love it. Okay.
All right. Thank you. Thank you. Okay, I think you may have smashed this. It's so quiet.
We've come out at 8pm to do a food shop. It's very late for us. We're a little bit tired and
we thought it was closed. It was so quiet. Yeah, it's really quiet. There's no cars in the car
park. Yeah. So hopefully we'll have a shop to ourselves. And I'm also hoping it doesn't mean
that there's no stock because it's the end of the day and tomorrow morning will be better. But this
is, this is like on the lead up to Christmas. And I think, ah, you always do that. You never put the
handbrake on. It's because it's an electric handbrake. I feel like people go crazy food
shopping before Christmas. And I mean, we're doing the same. And I feel like this could be very busy.
Yeah. Although I am very tired. This is, yeah, this is like, um, one of the huge supermarkets.
So we thought we'd come here. This is an Aldi, which I believe is, I believe, why did the light
go off? Which I believe is a European or German supermarket maybe? Um, we've not actually never
been in this one. Have we been in it once? Uh, once. Only ever once before. And we should explain
it's a few hours later now from when we vlogged our brunch. We've been, um. The brunch was at like
three o'clock. Pretty busy. Yeah. It was a late brunch, but we have been pretty busy today off
vlog. So now it's time to get this Christmas grocery shop. I'm going to put it out there and
say this is going to be very different to our Christmas last year. We actually, we got off
easy last year because Mike Connelly invited us for Christmas and we got a few things, didn't we?
We, I think we probably got like a quarter of the stuff maybe. They gave us like a list and we did
get. They gave us a list. And we got extra stuff like just for fun and like drinks and stuff. Yeah.
But they got like the turkey and the potatoes. Like they got the bulk of the food. We got like
I don't want to say the fun stuff. The turkey was very fun, but like the knickknacks and stuff. And
we got some alcohol and things like that. Yeah. And this isn't actually our Christmas shop for
like our main Christmas dinner or anything because again, very lucky this year we are,
we've been invited by family. So for the actual Christmas day, we'll be spending it
with some of our family. This is like the fun food shop for us when we're at home the week
for the build up to Christmas, the bit between Christmas and new year. Um. All about the food
Yeah. And like other things like gifts. Yeah. Whatever we can see. If we see some fun stuff,
we'll buy it. If we see some food we like the look of, um, without being too unhealthy sanitize,
please. Thank you. Um, without being too unhealthy, we will get a few little Christmas
treats maybe. Okay. Shall we, shall we do this? So this is very lucky in the UK. You often need
a pound coin to unlock. No, no, no, no. What? You want the little one I just said. Do we? Okay.
This one. Yeah. You need a pound coin to unlock the shopping cart. And if you don't have a pound
coin, you can't have a trolley. You're screwed because these are locked in and you need to put
it, you get it back at the end. It doesn't cost a pound, but it's very annoying actually. I think
it's annoying, but do people steal these? Probably. So this is crazy. We've got a huge bag of potatoes
here for 19 pence and these carrots. I don't know how it's so cheap in here. It's not what we're
used to. We usually shop at Waitrose and we thought it was a similar price as Tesco's. This is like
a third of the price. We have to say, we're not, we haven't tried this yet, but these blueberries,
for example, in Waitrose, that size, three pounds. £3.50. £3.50. Yeah. Here, 89p. Could be a winner.
I don't know. They might just taste bad. We'll have to taste the quality, but I don't know.
We'll be onto something here. That's amazing. Simple things in life, but let's see. It's
absolutely huge in here. Probably one of the, wow, all the Christmas goodies.
Successful so far, actually. We have a lot of stuff. We'll show you when we get home, but
going pretty well, right? This is the stuff guys. This with a bit of cheese.
Tonight we're having our first cheese board. So we need something like this.
Loose. You don't need to look at the price. You know, you want the chutney.
You know, you need it. The funniest experience. We end up buying a lot, but
the way they do the checkouts in Aldi, and I've heard about this before,
they have to do it as fast as they can for efficiency. She threw loads of our food on
the floor. It all went on the floor. Cause she kept shoving it. They go beep. I tried to film
a clip. Listen to how closely the beeps are together. Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep. And I'm
there sweating, trying to pack it into this. It's packed so badly. We got a lot of good
Christmas food, Christmas goodies. Do you want to put that screen wash up, right?
Let's just hope it all fits in the car. And in the cupboards. And oh yeah, more importantly,
in the cupboards. And let's hope we're hungry enough. Well, we're going to share a lot of this
food. People have come over and stuff. We'll do a little grocery haul when we got home and go
through some of the prices. Cause it was surprising a lot of it, wasn't it? Compared to what we're
used to. Okay. We are back. That was exhausting. It's now about 10 o'clock at night and I've just
laid all the food out into sections. I always section it out when we get home. So we've got
the frozen, the fresh stuff for the fridge and then stuff for the cupboards. So very,
very quick rundown for you to show you what we've got. So I'll start with the frozen.
Peas and some chips. They are chips, aren't they? They're not fries. Yeah. Like chunky chips and
also some beef dripping chips. It looks amazing, which will go very nicely with these steaks,
some sirloin steaks. So price wise, I think these were about eight pounds for two steaks,
which is really good. We've got a large gammon joint for about five pounds. It was about five
pounds for each of these bits of chicken. There's like big portions here of chicken,
some meatballs, some pigs in blankets, Christmas essential, a ton of vegetables. We've got some
avocados and peppers and broccoli, some carrots and potatoes, some kale, some onions. We've got
a few different types of cheeses here, some different dips and sauces and stuff. We've got
a couple of loaves of these like parbaked sourdough baguettes with seeds. This is a big stack of
berries just here. Cherries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, all that good stuff.
Nice big seven strength vintage cheddar, which was about 350, which is a really good price
and it's going to be super strong. I love a strong cheddar. I've got some chorizo,
which I'm probably going to fry up with some kale. Maybe that could be really nice as a little
side dish. And then in this section, I've got a few things. We've got some gin and tonic for
any guests we have in the next few weeks and beers and things with that as well. We've got
some oats, some chutney set, some of these microwave sort of quinoa packets and different
grains. This looks really good. It's a barbecue sauce, smoked pepper barbecue sauce, which looks
amazing. We've got some dark chocolate to try, two different ones. We always look to try new dark
chocolate. So both is 85%, two different types. Some gnocchi, some like fajita mixed spices,
some pasta, some jars of stuff. And then like crackers and things. Where's the other crackers?
These ones. Where's the other ones? Oh yeah, black pepper ones as well in there. So that's
pretty much it. It's a lot, but it's good. It will last us a couple of weeks hopefully.
Now we need to put it away. So we know... Eggs, we should have bought eggs. Oh, we didn't buy eggs.
By the way, thank you. Last time we did a grocery haul or grocery shopping themed vlog,
we asked everyone to comment below the price of eggs, where they live in their country,
in their town, whatever, wherever in the world. And I read through a ton of those. It was so
interesting. Some places get eggs super cheap. And some people were even saying, I live on a farm,
my eggs are free. And other people were saying actually eggs are really expensive,
especially for large eggs. So that was interesting. What should we do today? Blueberries. This is the
new one. Okay. Comment below right now. How much is like, this is 125 grams. How much, where you
live, wherever you are in the world, would that cost you? Blueberries. That's the one I want you
to comment right now. For us, this was 89 pence, under a pound, but usually a little bit more
expensive in different supermarkets. I'm so annoyed that we didn't buy eggs. That would have
been really nice. That would have been good. I need my eggs on sourdough every morning.
Sift it back tomorrow morning. It's my routine. Oh, we do have breakfast tomorrow. Yeah. So we
always kind of try and mention prices and stuff. You guys find it more interesting in the vlogs,
I guess, comparisons and just out of interest. So this lot came to just over 100 pounds. I mean,
for this quantity of food, it's really good. I would say in our usual supermarket we go to,
that would have been 150 upwards, maybe more if we've got like for like. So a good saving. We'll
see if the quality is as good. We're not sure. I think it's like a European supermarket. Pretty
sure it's German. So we are going to end off today's vlog here. Thanks for spending another
day with us. Hope you guys have an amazing Christmas. Comment below what your plans are,
what your traditions are, what you're eating, what Christmas food is like for you, your favorite
Christmas food. Tomorrow we are having a bit of a family day. I don't think we're vlogging. We're
spending some quality time with family. We've got breakfast at my mum and dad's house. Then we've
got lunch at Lucy's grandparents' house. I think we'll be spending the afternoon there pretty much.
So thanks so much for watching. Please give this video a thumbs up. That really,
really helps us out. It helps YouTube recommend the channel to other people. That thumbs up
button is probably more important than the subscribe button, but if you're not subscribed,
please subscribe as well. Thanks for the support. Thanks for watching the vlogs. Thanks for your
comments, your messages. As always, we are super, super grateful. So we'll see you very,
very soon in another vlog. Goodbye.
