Getting a 4D Scan of our Baby! Is It Worth It?

out and you guys can enjoy the rest of the vlog good morning guys welcome to another vlog it's my birthday today and we are doing something very exciting to celebrate uh there's a birthday vlog coming soon or it's already uploaded because we're filming like a birthday weekend vlog as well as a separate video about what we're about to do we're about to go and get a 4d scan uh and see our baby in like not in the flesh like seeing our baby's face his face for the first time it's crazy that you can do that reacting to our baby's face don't say it like that i'm just trying to sound more youtube no it's not youtube obviously we've had a load of like hospital scans and stuff but that's just like the usual ultrasound where you just kind of see the babies um in 2d i guess 1d one-dimensional isn't it yeah yeah in 1d and now we are basically you can pay to have this is a private scan uh it's just a bit of fun it's not really for any other reason that they do say that it's like a full well-being health check as well it's obviously going to be a bonus um and it's something really good to check out but you don't need to do this it's just something that we thought would be fun to do especially my birthday and we didn't realize that you can't do it as late as i thought i thought you could be like nearly giving birth and doing it but it turns out 30 weeks is kind of like the latest they like to do it and i'm just over 30 weeks now so if you book it on oh there's a town crier um if you book it on a weekday in the daytime um it's 79 pounds but i think normally it's 135 so i thought i may as well do it on a weekday and we only booked it last night because i'm i thought i could do it in like a few weeks from now once renovations have calmed down but i looked last night and literally at like midnight last night so only like 12 hours ago from now we booked it so it's super last minute yeah we're very excited if you don't know what a 4d scan is because i don't think they've been around for a while until about a year or two ago saw people starting uploading pictures of babies that looked like 4d babies 3d babies i was like wow i didn't i had no idea yeah that's good space so it gives you a full picture of your bait you can see your baby's hands your baby's fingers your baby's whole face hopefully i mean yeah it does depend on the position because if the baby is like not playing ball or if he's too low down already or if he's i don't know he could be asleep because his hands over his face like you don't know what he's doing there's no guarantee but i think i think if they don't get good pictures you're allowed to come back once more for free like included in the package so you get some good pictures and i think we also get to have some pictures to take away with us um and we can show our families over the weekend because we're seeing everyone this weekend it's my birthday um we can show everyone so we're actually perfectly on time i think i was meant to have like some relaxation time before to like calm myself let me let me just it's actually making me more stressed um okay we're walking there now we just have paid for parking atp really really cheap parking here the baby needs to be moving around for this scan to work so lucy just come with me walk to the machine try jigging around a little bit fingers crossed everything will go smoothly but this is very exciting this is like one of those moments we were even wondering whether we should do it or not a 4d scan we feel we feel happy that we've chosen to do it i think it's going to be we might be able to see if he looks like us today we might think wow that looks like lucy or me or a mixture and sometimes they have their eyes open which sounds absolutely terrifying i'm not trying to prepare to see a baby inside me with his eyes open but it's all good i can't wait this is the place it's called window to the womb it's a good name actually literally is a window to the womb oh they've got some christmas trees up as well nice [Music] sorry halfway through the um his face is covered by a cord the cord and his hand he's being very shy they sent me on a walk to get the baby moving to hopefully change position they've told me to have something cold and sweet so i went from ice cream jealous i know i have to have this apparently it's really really hard work for me and so we're gonna go for a brisk walk now and then go back in 15 minutes because i want to get a good picture and like get a better view of the face basically but so far so cute we've seen it yeah we've seen a few images the hands like this the okay we've just come out semi-successful they managed to get a little bit but they want us to come back basically free of charge the walk and the ice cream made it worse because not only were his hands in front of his face but his feet were in front of his face as well so he was like fully up yeah i don't know he's very very flexible his feet were in his face basically we get another scan it does so we are gonna actually we are actually gonna leave this vlog here come back on tuesday in a few days time when we come back pick this one up and hopefully we'll get some more photos we can show you the 4d scan and tell you our whole kind of uh opinion on the experience as well so see you in a couple of seconds for you but in a few days for us so we have just got back to the car and some of the photos they are getting us back but some of the photos are actually quite good you can see his little nose his nose is like a butter knife and his lips the lady in there said his lips look really big especially his top lip yeah she said who does he get the lips from i'm guessing that's lucy yeah quite big and then that's the heartbeat yeah and then there's some other ones here like that's a real picture that's crazy that is amazing and this is a foot over his face that's hands over face that's the hand there i think hand there that's full arm and hands over his face so they got some something a bit funny i'm glad we're going back for more but i probably would have been like pretty much satisfied with it yeah so that's quite a good service then they weren't 100 satisfied with the quality they got so so we get more than this which is awesome and there's a video as well but i won't show you that it's basically just getting to them bits but they're the best bits anyway okay we're back for take two for a 40 scone winner to the william and worthing and fingers crossed baby is being more a few days later cooperative today [Music] okay we are home from scan number two and it was definitely more successful than the first one uh we've got some really good pictures i'm gonna go through and show you some now they basically give you an app where you can view all your scanned photos and kind of just slide through them which is really handy but yeah there's some really good ones on there ones that you can really see his face properly and because the chord was in his face again apparently um the some of his facial features look slightly distorted and a little bit mottled was the word they used but you can still like there's some pictures we can still really see his face and they're really really cute so i'll try and show you some now technology is so crazy because this is a big moment seeing our baby's face for the first time if you've been following the whole journey since we announced the pregnancy and all our pregnancy updates baby updates this is like this is one of those big moments one of those big videos so we are now looking it's so cool okay we're going to flip the screen around this is our baby's face look at this it's much clearer than the other pictures i think the other day it's really good so cute a little nose you can that's really hand i think so yeah okay there's little lips in this one it's a good one look he looks a bit grumpy here yeah we've got a few funny ones like that one look at that one i love this one do you that's like him smiling no there's another oh that's not the smiley one there's another one really really smiling um that one's cute so i'm not loading for some reason but that looks like a smile yeah that looks a lot like a smile that one's cute [Music] that's a smile oh it's definitely a smiley that's so cute so we basically need to go through these and pick ones that we want to get printed out yeah included in the scan yeah we get actual physical prints of this we are gonna also show our family these photos um when we see them so we'll try and film some bits when we put that in now [Music] and that is his foot oh yeah so halfway through they told me to go for a walk to try and get him to move around and then because his hand was over and then he came back and his feet were over his face i said his feet were in his face and i know it's like the heartbeat and stuff and then like the normal [Music] could you see both of you him do you think yeah absolutely nose eyes glitch there the sonographer was like he's got massive lips you want to be on camera oh you got some stickers didn't you yep i've got [Music] excellent obviously we said at the start of the video it's not something you have to do by any means it's just something we chose to do and would i recommend it i would recommend it it's something different it's something fun and it's a really cool thing to be able to do and see you only get like one chance i guess to do it per pregnancy so i think i would do it again it does feel kind of odd in a way because you're like like last time we went there trying to get me to do star jumps and like make me move around in these funny positions and it's like all for a photo like they do the without well-being check at the start and that's all good and it does feel kind of odd like all of that effort like moving up like i know it's safe and i know he's fine but like george was saying if it was a bit like all like the prodding and poking just to get one picture but they are very gentle and they are careful with it and it's just something fun to sort of see and um we've got a little teddy bear last time we went this one here and if you listen they um put his heartbeat inside this little elephant for us you could pick different teddies and we like the elephant one and again like before we went in we were like oh we don't need any of the extras but we ended up buying that because we were like screw it we're here let's just get it and then the same with the hd they used hd uh something hd high definition something in the scan which allowed the image to be clearer and they could move around it almost looks like they're moving a light around his face to be able to get different angles and i would recommend paying the extra 10 pounds for that because i do think it helps the images that you saw that are slightly more pinky are the hd ones and then the ones are just that kind of like brown yellowy flat color are the normal ones so the pinky ones are cool and i'm glad we did it it was a really nice experience it was nice going on my birthday and it was nice again having a second scan today to get much more images we've got about 80 i think we need to choose through now and narrow down to get our print print print outs and some key i think they provide key rings two large prints and six smaller prints but yeah we're gonna end this video off here and i'm excited now to see how accurate the scan is like for when he comes out for how he actually looks as a baby when he's in in real life like i know he's real now but
