Here he is, Kyle Tucker.
He'll return to Dykin Park for the first time since the trade.
He and Ryan Presley honored here before the game.
Just a nice ovation from fans as they come back.
Brandon Walter will get the first opportunity
at the Chicago Cubs in this three-game series.
0-1 with a 3-8-0, looking for that first big-league W.
And Walter picks up a strikeout to start this game.
So, here he is, the return.
Right fielder, number 30, Kyle Tucker.
Tucker's not one to be very emotional,
but you've got to think that he feels the warmth
from this crowd in this special moment.
A lot of people out there in right field
had to dust off some crowns.
There are a lot of crowns out there, aren't there?
There's a ball sent into shallow left.
The sock parade is called off by Jeremy Pena.
Pena also called off Trammell, so Tucker's out number two.
That'll bring up Seya Suzuki,
the right-handed hitting D.H.
Ball towards short.
This is a good start for Walter.
Pena makes the play for the final out of the inning.
Just a couple moments ago, Kyle Tucker
took his position in the outfield, tipped his cap.
Fans giving him a standing O out there.
Cool start to this one for Tucker.
All right, here tonight, it's Cade Horton on the mound.
The right-hander getting the start.
Cubs have won six times out of the eight that he's appeared.
First pitch swinging drives it to center.
Pete Crow Armstrong is there.
And a one away.
So one out, nobody on for Isak Peraitis.
That ball down the line, that's a fair ball.
And his second base is half got to it.
So Peraitis aboard with one out for Jose Altuve.
High fly ball.
This one back, cap over there near the wall,
and it'll be Pete Crow Armstrong
who quickly fires it all the way back to first.
So Smith draws the walk,
and the Astros have two men on with two out.
And Jake Meyers the batter.
The one-one.
Line drive, base hit, right field.
Tucker will charge, throw to the plate.
Kelly waits, tag out at the plate.
Kyle Tucker, welcome home as he gets him at home.
Great throw on a hop, and cuts down Isak Peraitis.
And that ends the inning on the nine-to-two put out.
Dansby Swanson, right-handed hitting,
shortstop for the Cubs.
In the air, left field.
That one towards the line,
and racing over is Trammell,
and he's not able to make the play.
Swanson around second, Dansby for third, and he dives in.
A broken-back fly ball triple to the left-field corner,
and the Cubs are in business.
And now there are two down, and it's up to Nico Horner.
Fly ball, shallow right center.
Innings should be over when Cam Smith calls off Jose Altuve.
What a job by Walter,
working around the leadoff triple by Dansby Swanson.
And that's the second walk issued by Horton.
It's a quality at bat to get it to Peña here.
The 0-2. Inside that hit.
That was an off-speed pitch.
Got Peña, and the last thing Horton wanted to do
was put Peña on and load the bases
with two outs for Isak Peraitis.
Line drive into left field, and he makes the catch.
What a play by Ian. Absolutely gorgeous.
If it gets by him, three runs might very well score.
And Altuve, with his eighth walk in the last eight games,
he's on base to start the third.
That'll bring up Cam Smith, who walked his last time up.
Off the end of the bat, little looper, left-center field.
It's going to fall in for a hit.
Altuve will get to second base on the base hit by Cam Smith.
So runners on first and second off the little blooper
from Cam Smith, and the Astros are cooking.
Here's Jake Meyers.
Jake with a single his last time up.
Down ball for fourth walk allowed by Horton
to load the bases with nobody out.
And Victor Chiarattini do a fly ball center field.
Pete Pro Armstrong.
Altuve will tag.
Altuve's coming home.
Here comes the throw.
Not in time. One-nothing Astros.
Victor Chiarattini, RBI number 19 all year.
The luxury of speed.
Ball not hit all that deep,
and Pro Armstrong actually put a good throw on it.
But Jose Altuve putting his head down
and hustling through home plate.
Scores that run easily for the Astros.
Yiner Diaz now. Two aboard and two out.
Yiner hits one high. He hits one deep.
Only heard a Houston home run.
Been waiting all day for that one, TK.
I like it. By the way, the triple shot Yiner bomb.
That is a big pickup for a team
that have been stranding runners all night long.
One out. That'll bring up Paredes.
One for two.
Another one down the third baseline.
This is a repeat.
It bounces a little further away,
but still no chance for Isak to advance to second.
Altuve, 0 for 1 with a walk and a run scored.
That's into center field.
Coming on Pro Armstrong. He'll play it on a hop.
Paredes into second base.
Altuve with a base hit.
The Astros with multiple runners on
for the fourth consecutive inning.
Back-to-back singles for the Astros,
and here comes Cam Smith.
Cam Smith, the big part of that Kyle Tucker trade.
He threw it high for the first time in his career.
Has just left Union Station.
Wow. Wow.
That's the prodigious pop that I want to see.
That was showtime.
That was stepped on.
He took the driver out for that one.
He picked the spot, and he crushed it.
That was beautiful.
One away. Now the batter, Nico Horner.
He flied out his first time up.
Ripped left field.
This one's got a chance on its way.
Gone! Nico is second of the year.
And the Cubs are on the board.
Picked up number one the other day in St.
Louis, and he scorched that baseball.
I had nothing cheap about that one.
That backdoor breaking ball is the pitch from a lefty
that Nico will be able to pull and get elevated.
This ball starts out away and ends up down and in,
and he goes right down and gets this ball
and drives it to left.
And the Astros have a two-out base runner
from Horacio Dubon,
who comes up to pinch hit for Jeremy Pena.
Obviously, if we hear anything about Pena,
we will pass it along to you.
Pena has played every game so far this year.
Went out of the game now here in the fifth inning.
Pena did get hit by a pitch in the second inning.
That's to short. Swanson across and in time.
And Horner will take his base.
That'll bring out third baseman Matt Shaw.
Bounce towards third. Fair ball down the line.
That will roll it towards the corner,
and that's going to score a couple.
Kelly is in. Horner on his heels.
Shaw into second.
It's a two-run double, and it's 7-3.
Here, a lot of Cub fans in the ballpark tonight
enjoying that moment as Matt Shaw
plates to the double right down the third-base line.
So Cubs are making a little noise here in the seventh.
So the Cubs are down to their final out,
and the batter is Matt Shaw.
Fair ball down the line.
Base hit. Run comes in.
Shaw racing for second, and he'll take the turn.
It's an RBI double, second double of the night for Matt.
Second double, third RBI. Astros hanging in there.
Astros lead 7-4.
Josh Hader comes in to try and get the final out.
Perfect 21 for 21 and save chances.
Into center. Jake Myers puts it away.
Ball game over. Five wins in a row for the Astros.
They improve to another season best, 16 games over 500,
and for the time being, they are seven games in front
in the AL West with Josh Hader
setting a new franchise record, 22 consecutive saves
to start a year. He is 22 for 22.
