Moving Here Had a Big Problem…

okay picking up the camera because today is an exciting day and i know youtubers say that a lot vloggers do say that a lot but genuinely today is very exciting for the following reasons and that is because let me show you something so we showed you guys this place our apartment here um in a vlog recently but since then and the whole time we've been here i have been sleeping on here yeah it's true it's true and you want to show everyone where you've been sleeping well i started off here on a mattress on the floor yeah like a small single mattress that i borrowed from my five-year-old niece bear in mind and also i'm quite a lot taller than my niece so my legs would have been hanging off the edge and now i've moved into the bedroom and i'm sleeping on the mattress on our bed but it's still a single tiny mattress so yeah so update we do have a bed but today we painted the walls in here we have we've been yes yeah and we painted the skirting boards black and we've got a trip soon to buy some furniture for this room so the bedroom is definitely coming together and it's probably going to be the first completed room in this whole place it's really exciting so the reason we are so excited today is that we are finally going to be getting a new mattress for our bed i won't have to sleep on the sofa we usually want to sleep here next to each other again i know first i'll be two weeks um so we are getting a brand new king size mattress so as you can see this place is slowly coming together we've got a lot more to do we are going to be documenting all the renovations but to have a bedroom is going to be life-changing because we haven't had one before well we were in the quarantine hotel before this anyway we have another bedroom for a while and once one room's done we're going to feel more settled right now we feel slightly unsettled to be honest because none of the rooms are finished at all yes but the bedroom is almost finished minus furniture and the mattress and then it'll be finished so that'll be like part one of the several rooms in this flat done i feel like we're always moving into places and yeah doing things anyway the mattress is literally on the way in a van now so excited literally it's like waiting for santa's slave to arrive at your house your presence i'm literally watching the tracking like get here now i can't wait and we are very excited of our accessories and pillows and things i think and then the main mattress is here as well i'm gonna pop that on the floor and then get the mattress okay no shoes on the new carpet please i'm dropping everything just crouch down with it it's not even heavy what are you doing okay cool so have wow the emma microfiber pillow can i just stop you right there do you want to go get our duvet from the hallway i should do this it's fine for now okay we also have the emma pillow the originals we went for a microfiber each and an original each another pillow so that is our four kilos let me go and get the mattress i love how bright and sunny this bedroom is we've got nice big bay windows all along here absolutely love it oh it's a really nice filming room actually anyway this bed was actually george's bed from when he used to live at his parents house and it's really nice it's a king-sized bed pretty old now but it's still in good condition and it's a really low bed so i think these are just going to look really dreamy once you've got our new bedding on and things okay everything is here it is this is very very exciting let's quickly uh switch to a time lapse of us getting this [Music] okay the mattress has been vacuum sealed for probably quite some time during delivery so it's just kind of like expanding out but looks so nice it's so heavy yeah it's really heavy one of our pillows here i love the packaging it's all like really tightly done so it's in small boxes but this will expand and we'll be able to show you this again soon once it's a bit more airy okay now for the sit test or the lie test that's so nice it's so comfy even this part i don't even want to put a sheet on it i know that i know you're meant to put sheets on it but it's the softest material oh at it doesn't that look really good it's huge it looks amazing i just filmed it anyway need some plates i've already done that you are good aren't you you're getting the netflix on yes yep that's what you're doing one session back in the gym i have rejoined the gym haven't vlogged there yet um but i've done two no three sessions in the gym now which is good and i've got a lot of food here got chicken grilled chicken two chicken wings a portion of rice and deep fried lumi sticks i didn't know they were breaded and deep-fried in fairness um but we're gonna enjoy this yeah we're watching chicken wrap coleslaw rice halloumi and chicken wings so good yeah we are watching the squid games watch two episodes loads of you guys recommended it to us it's good it's really good it's dark it's a bit like hunger games meat parasite you've just had a society that you watched when you read about how what it's about you've just completely copied that no i didn't yes you had maybe i did no there was another thing there was another thing what was the other film the grudge no not the judge not the grudge the grinch no the one who was like i want to play a game that one oh saw yeah it's also a little bit like the saw movies so let me quickly show you our temp we're gonna in this vlog give you a little update of this place we have made some more progress we actually have a little bit of a living area if you remember there are loads of boxes around and we do have an old tv here on the floor which we can hook up to laptop with an hdmi cable so we can watch things like youtube and netflix again so we're feeling like we're living here a little bit but let's eat some lunch and then we'll show you a few more updates in this place okay we have finished lunch and we watch an episode of that show which is really good it's gory but i'm enjoying it so i wanted to give you a little bit of an update here it doesn't look like we had much progress but to be honest a lot has been done so in the baby's room we've finished a little bit of decorating and do we have a light no we've got one light bulb it just went so dark we've got one light bulb at the moment which we share between the bedroom between our bedroom and the baby's room so i need to actually buy another light bulb for that little things like that tiny little details that is still going to be a big theme for the next couple of weeks because we're trying to get the big things sorted we got a new blue dark but we have a brand new boiler installed now which this apartment needed because the old one was no good and yeah as you can see here this room is currently just full of boxes but we do now have super fast fiber internet which is insane for uploading vlogs if you're nerdy like me and you like internet speeds and stuff like that we get 500 megabyte internet speed that's the download speed and then the upload speed is like 150 or something so insane for uploading vlogs we obviously decorated it here you saw this from earlier lucy did the black skirting boards all fresh white walls the walls needed so much filling painting sanding washing um also painted the ceiling we have been so so busy we haven't really stopped and we haven't lucy and i do this we haven't really relaxed yet or stopped because we've had oh man it's so sunny we've had um so much to do in this place which has which has been great it's been so good seeing it come together the new carpets are in which are really really nice and soft and it's kind of like this flat it looks gray but yeah it's kind of gray it's like a light grey but with a little bit of light oatmeal lucy saying it's like an oatmeal color but i think i think it goes nicely with the white walls and the wooden bed another big update is that we have ordered a new kitchen which is so exciting because there's nothing technically wrong with this kitchen but it is about 15 years old we think and things like when you cook an egg on here the egg rolls to the end of the pan close-up details like this these are all hanging off um like here as well this is all loose and stuff and it's just dated so we thought if we're gonna be living here we own this place um so let's put a bit of love into it let's put a bit of work into it and whether we turn it into an airbnb in the future whether we sell it on or whether we rent it out um when we move on somewhere else then it's gonna be good to have a brand new fresh kitchen so that has been ordered and we'll update you in the vlogs when that's going to be installed what else is going on same story with the bathrooms the bathrooms are in not particularly good shape so we need to sort those out we're going to be ordering them we're talking with the plumber plumber came around the other day to quote us for the ripping out of the old bathroom and installing the new one there has just been so much going on but this evening we're going for dinner at lucy's mums which will be so nice and more amazon parcels to pick up from my mum's house because we've been getting a load of stuff delivered there they've got a room at the front of their house where they can just keep boxes and parcels for us very very kindly so we need to swing by there soon then we need to drop the single mattress at lucy's sister that she was borrowing and then we can go for dinner another busy day okay the errands are well underway we're in a currently in georgia's dad's car that we're we said about the car yet i think we said we were borrowing this we're borrowing our parents car if we have announced we've insured ourselves on it um so here unlike in the philippines where you insure the car here you have to insure a person on a car it's not like the car's insured it's i'm insured to drive a car as opposed to the car or being insured in its own so um george is currently the only one on it i might go on it soon but right now george is quite happy doing the driving spoiler alert we have our own car on the way yes we do um that's why we borrowed this temporarily yeah but we're gonna save that for a new vlog because that's gonna be a car vlog very exciting but it might not be for a few more weeks because it's actually coming from a different country so um yeah this okay the camera just ran out of memory card space so i quickly switched to my phone but i was just saying we're borrowing george zed's car and it's huge and it's very convenient oh coming up it's so bright and sunny it's a very crisp evening it's like four it's 14 degrees so it's cold um but it's sunny it's quite a nice evening um yeah we're boring it chugging stuff in the back and it's perfect for things like this days like this we're actually headed to ikea tomorrow to do some shopping and to get some more bits for the apartment and then yeah this car has literally been perfect for that so we're very grateful for that and now next stop is jordan's parents house to pick up some parcels he's ah it's gone behind this uh you can kind of see it will it open up while there you go this here is a huge queue um yeah that's going all the way back isn't it i wonder how far it goes back i'll keep filming basically there's a there's um been a problem with petra in england at the moment basically it was announced by the government that there may be a shortage and then it's caused people to go panic buying um and i said it's only to the roundabout but it's still a very long queue they'll probably be in that key for over an hour and there might not even be petrol there the other day we had to fill up because we weren't empty and we were looking around for literally over an hour over two different days over an hour wasn't it so two hours total six different garages more than that like 10 garages and they were either closed with no fuel um or well yeah if there was a keyword queue in it and then some we queued for or one we queued for for a while and then we realized they only have petrol not diesel so that's been fun trying to navigate that um but it's just not fun especially if people have got to go to work and commute and like healthcare work and stuff that need to get around and i don't know it's just such a difficult thing um but by the looks of things there are being deliveries made and it should be getting better soon hopefully as i'm filming this um i've never experienced that in my life and actually it's been a huge lorry driver shortage across the country even um ikea which we're going to tomorrow some of the items we looked online some of the items we had our eye on are not in stock because i'm guessing of the delivery shortages and i think it's even affected ikea manufacturing that's what i read anyway don't quote me but that is what i read so we're going to have to go there let us know if you want us to vlog i think we are going to vlog the ikea trip if you fancy an ikea vlog we just missed the one opening in manila so it's going to be good to get back to an ikea and hopefully kit out our pretty empty
