A Sad Update...
Today we have some sad news to share.
I have a sad update. Needless to say the girls were all crushed.
Well, just got here and already had a mishap.
What's up everybody? We decided to get out of the house. It's like 70 degrees out today
and we brought all the kids and Nana to someone else's neighborhood.
Just a neighborhood nearby and we are, it's a really cute neighborhood with a cafe and like
a lot of little trails to explore. Tunnels underneath roads. Lots of good stuff to explore.
So yeah, we're just getting out exploring a little bit. There's some streams and some fun to be had.
This is what we want. You're okay. The water's kind of cold. Cold?
Hey, come here. Well, just got here and already had a mishap. Almost lost a kid. Please be careful
in there. It's really cold so I'm trying to get my feet used to it. Lainey, stay back please.
Wouldn't y'all like to have this, something like this in your backyard? Yeah. Me too.
This is what we want to have in our backyard.
Yeah, you tell them pants Nana. That's how my grandmother used to do it.
Y'all catching anything? No, we're too close to the shore.
Oh, there's a big fish right there. Where? Right in here.
Oh, there's a bunch over there. Look at them. See them all right there.
Made it. Okay. Yeah.
What a shame. What are you doing? I'm pretty wet dad. Pretty wet? Yeah. I actually found a rock
earlier. Hey Mary, can I swing you back? No.
Oh my goodness. It's tiny. I don't know how you caught it.
She caught one. I caught one. Let me see.
Where is it? Where is it? Oh, it's at the very bottom. I see.
She picked the smallest one. She sure did.
Are you fishing?
I don't know how to fish. You just have to wiggle this edge like this.
Is that how you fish? No, you go like, no, this is how you fish. You go like this
and then wait until something catches your bait and then you pull it up.
Do not knock Mary in. She caught some. Finally, all the hard work has paid off.
Kai, get that. Turn around quick. Turn around and grab the water bottle.
Nice. They are eating your toe crust. Is that what you're trying to say? Yeah.
Who wants to put their feet in and let them?
Oh my gosh. Ew. What? Why are you doing?
You have to put it down. Don't step on one. She didn't.
And then they'll come over. Is one nipping at them?
All right, we are wrapping up here. We had a fun time, didn't we? The girls had a blast
catching fish, all kinds of stuff. Jude is getting tree bark to build a boat with, she said.
Oh, it's the little boat itself.
And look over here, this is my river boat. This might be, this can be Alan's because
he wanted a river boat, but that's why it's turned into 21. Oh, we've had like three kids slip in the
water. That was the most fun, especially if we missed it on camera, but there was a really slippery
spot down over there. And I was like, be careful, Tyler. It's slippery there. She said, I know.
And literally slipped and fell in the water. It was like the most perfect situation. I couldn't
have asked for it to have happened better. When your kid thinks they know everything,
like we were talking about earlier, and you're telling them to be careful and they say, I know.
And then they fall in the water. It's beautiful. It's just perfectly executed.
Did you fall in the water today?
Ty, you just going to let that, just dump them out, bud.
There she is everybody. The beautiful Danielle Murray.
I have a sad update. Um, we're getting ready to leave for the day, but I wanted to take a
minute and share this while the kids are out in the car because I don't want to upset them again.
Um, what a bummer. So the other morning we woke up, I woke up to Tyler saying she thought something
was wrong with sniffles, which is the baby bunny. And sure enough, it was kind of lifeless.
He was just not moving like kind of cool gasping for air, which is just not a good sign. And,
um, so we, I held him for a while, like couldn't really tell what happened. He is not kept with the
mom. So he was fine when he went to bed. And then when we woke up, uh, Tyler said it was just laying
on its side and she thought he was just relaxing, but this is a really common, uh, rabbits are just
so fickle and it's really hard. Everybody has told me like everybody who breeds rabbits has
messaged saying they were so impressed that we kept one kid alive because it's just not,
it's just like not common at all. Um, and that there was nothing that we did wrong. It just,
sometimes it happens. They seem like they're fine and thriving and then they just die out of nowhere.
So needless to say, the girls were all crushed and totally heartbroken. They had gotten really
attached to it in those short, what, two and a half weeks of its little life. So that's a bummer.
It's something though that we've gotten, they understand, like they understand that
these things happen, that it's just part of nature that, um, you know, we kind of set the
expectation when there was only one baby that it may not make it. So it doesn't really make
the heartache any less. Um, but I think it does help a little bit for them to have some
understanding. My mom also went home that same morning, so they already woke up upset that she
was gone and then, uh, just the worst day. Anyway, loss never gets easier even though there is more
understanding to it. We're going to bury the bunny a little bit later today. The kids colored some
pictures to bury with it. And yeah, thank you guys for cheering for us and for all the advice
and suggestions, all the encouragement, um, that everyone has sent our way. I'm going to go. I just
wanted to update you guys, uh, on that situation if you didn't already see. All right. Uh, we'll
see you guys later. Hey, thanks so much for watching. If you want to make sure you don't
