Eating His First Solid Foods!
It's crazy that our little boy is already 6 months old! Today he's trying a food that we gave to all our girls first. We hope that he likes it!
Look what's happening today!
Is it good?
You're yummy!
You're yummy! Will you go let Journey out, Ty?
Oh, he's six months old today.
Did you know he was six months old today?
Happy six month old birthday for you, buddy.
Hey.
No more?
No, that's not how you do it.
It's me! Avocado!
Avocado!
We're going for a walk today.
Get these kids outside some.
It's a little chilly.
We had some really nice warm days.
And then I turned.
And we lost them.
I wonder who owns that Mustang.
I don't know. Mustang Sally, I bet.
Huh? Mustang Sally?
You never heard of Mustang Sally?
No, but I've heard of Mustang Poppy.
Oh yeah, Mustang Poppy.
Uh oh, let's see what these kids are going to do.
Go ahead, Mary. I'm watching.
Go ahead, Addy.
Hey, go ahead.
How was it?
Good.
Whoa.
Checking for everybody's mail. Come on.
I think I'm like day four of
not keeping my phone on me all day.
And it's been amazing.
And I just realized I don't have my phone on me
going on this walk.
And I have um
I no longer am like
looking for it. You know what I mean?
You know how a lot of times if you're someone like me
who was on my phone a lot
and always had it on me
I was constantly like
checking it, pulling out my pocket.
I don't have that desire to do that anymore
and I'm kind of loving it.
I'm definitely loving it.
Makes you proud? Thank you, Ty.
Daddy's a
big boy now.
Daddy's a big boy now. I'm a big boy now.
It's called growing up
and maturing a little bit more.
So anyways
so that's something that
you struggle with.
I found myself like at the end of the day
feeling
like so horrible
about the fact that I was on my phone
so much and just like
just telling myself I had to do better
but then the next day not.
And so it literally started
with me just the first day
not looking at my phone for the first hour
of the day and then
just put it in my bedroom
and left it there.
And then I would go check it
occasionally and it just felt
so like, I felt so light
that first hour
that I just
continued it. And it's been like
4 or 5 days now
and it's feeling better and better every day
and I don't have any regrets
at the end of my day
because I'm having conversations with my kids
and we're
actually arguing
with each other like we're supposed
to be.
No.
It's been good though.
Anyways, I was just thinking about that because I went
and I touched my pocket and I was like, oh wait
my phone's in my pocket. Huh, whatever.
You're not even thinking like
it didn't even occur to me that I didn't bring it
and I didn't care that I didn't have it.
We made it home.
Is he awake?
He was
napping when we left.
Oh my goodness.
Look how cute.
Did you boop him?
Hey, who wants to see what I'm making for dinner tonight?
You do? Really?
You? Okay.
Well, good thing I'm making a yummy meal.
So, I want to show you guys
I'm cooking for Din Din.
I said Din Din. I said it.
Normally I would make this but I'm letting
John make it.
She's never made this a day in her life.
No, but he makes it so good
and I requested it yesterday. Remember last night?
I was like, dang it. I was really hoping you would make
this roasted red pepper
cauliflower
deliciousness and then
today I woke up and I can't smell or
taste anything. And he's like,
what should I make for dinner? And I said,
no, no, no. I said
get me some cauliflower
and some onions
and some mozzarella
and some pasta because I'm making the meal
that you love. And then she
said,
lo is me.
Woe is me.
I cannot taste
nor can I smell.
And I said, well, you know,
I don't have anything else to make so I gotta make this.
We're cutting up some cauliflower.
Anyway,
so that's the story of how I'm really sad
that tonight is one of my favorite
meals for dinner and I
will not be able to really
taste it. I'd be like 10% taste.
And what's wild is that I've been better.
Like yesterday I would be like, yeah, I'm
100% again. And then today I'm like,
I'm so tired and I can't smell it
and taste things. But
apparently that's the way this goes and
it is what it is.
I am looking forward to feeling better
again soon.
Then everybody else will just get to enjoy.
Hey, I'm gonna make extra so that there's
some left for you
for another day. Make extra extra
so there's a lot left. Okay, I'm gonna make
extra extra. Extra extra to read all about it.
We have pasta.
The water was boiling
but now it's, you know, kind of not.
That's okay.
Using a red lentil penne
today. And I got
some onions and peppers
cut up here. Cauliflower here.
And that's going in the oven
right now. Alright, got the
pasta here. Added some cheese
and some sauce.
Gotta mix that up.
Then I
have laid a little small layer
of sauce on the bottom. We're gonna
put some of that
we're gonna put that pasta mixture here.
Then we're gonna put some of the veggies.
Then we're gonna put some ricotta
cheese. Another layer of
pasta mixture. I'll show you what
we do. Okay guys, I
have it in the oven. I didn't
show you. I forgot to show
me assembling it. Aww yeah.
Would you
look at that.
Yummy.
It's gonna
be delicious.
It's gonna be delicious.
Y'all ready to eat?
