What REALLY Happened on Our Engagement Night!

hello guys i'm wearing a white shirt and also how are we late um because we're at hotel the restaurant is down there we need to go welcome to a very very special video this evening the reason we're late is because i just asked lucy to marry me and she said yes and if you haven't seen that video go and check it out it's online already you like doing electric blinds super loud that's all right my fiance is just here putting down the blinds oh there i am um yeah we're in this like crazy head bubble at the moment but we do have this insane dinner book which wasn't intended to be like a celebration but perfect now it is it totally has turned into our um engagement celebration are we gonna tell them at the restaurant i think we should let's just tell them i need more thank you i need to get my shoes on but actually we're heading to the trees are out there are they yes oh now i can't get the blinds because the blinds are closing oh it's like when james it's like when james bond rolls i'll have you oh it's way less dramatic then it's like when james bond rolls under those doors okay so yeah we are off to mosaic which is a really really amazing restaurant here at crimson we're in a huge rush and they've invited us this evening to something they call art on a plate more soon evening bye looks so nice already it's very windy like we keep saying but it's so nice i think these are the most like special restaurant they have here i think we've got a nine course meal wow [Music] hi evening hi hey [Music] thank you thank you [Music] yes thank you so much [Music] don't yeah [Music] [Music] tonight's event is under the theme classic versus modern so the dishes are a mix between classic takes and modern taste let's see what everyone else is i want to see if anyone else is picking this up with their hands and just that's how you should slotting it in so there's a few dishes i'm trying to be a bit quiet because of the singer and we might have to subtitle this there's a few dishes i can't have because i'm pregnant but they've been really kind and they said if there's anything i want to order separately i can do that but i think there's so many courses i'm just gonna let george enjoy the ones i can't have and then just wait for the ones i can yeah lucy has to watch me eat some incredible food and drink some i think there's different alcohol drinks for each course or maybe at least a few different alcoholic drinks and lucy has to sadly just watch me enjoy these sadly i'm not also drinking lucy's drinks i think that would be a mistake [Music] i've never had i've only had oysters a few times in my life i've never had that much flavor in one oyster i can't even describe it salty fresh very very fresh oh so many different flavors you could taste the calamansi you put calamansi in there very nice and the artist has started here and then patrick's over here doing another painting we'll go and have a look at that one later they would be together [Music] and second drink the margarita they leave you the menu so this is perfect i need this on every kind of every time we vlog food i need this this is mexican agua chili catch of the day orange gel onion puree puree onion puree and a margarita so in simple terms it's a raw fish dish with [Music] [Laughter] oranges onion puree anyway it's delicious this chef here is so talented such a nice guy we met him earlier and i love people who he was saying that there's a lot of passion in his cooking and food for him is experiences and memories and we're going to remember this night forever for sure this is very special they're looking after us well it's delicious the margarita has chili around it so it actually like burns your lips slightly when you take a sip with the salt as well which goes perfectly this one i'm trying to combine but i was living in mexico i used to live in santorum for three years and a half so there was a traditional good that is like a ceviche they call it our chili our chili the translation in english will be like chili sauce or chili water this is such a nice evening like this i mean i guess george planned this but the fact that it's like something from a movie the fact that we're having a nine course meal with a live acoustic singer singing like the most romantic songs i've ever heard people painting painting is like my favorite thing ever and oh my god i'm just like [Laughter] [Music] and it's just so special we were just thinking about how we're going to tell the rest of our family like the story of our engagement perfect background music we say we took a private seaplane to our favorite place in the philippines on this beautiful beach beautiful country that we love so much a hot tropical country at the place where we decided to have our first baby with a beautiful boracay beach backdrop and then we came for a dinner at the most luxurious special restaurant with people painting a singer and a seven course meal i think somehow i think i've done okay with this engagement [Music] drink number three a chardonnay now which is a sweeter wine than i would usually choose myself however this is going with steak tartare this wine has been chosen and designed to go with this stitch perfect thank you so much [Music] wow this is super special chef has just explained how we're supposed to eat this and how this has been crafted together the egg yolk is there for as much or as little as you would like to kind of flavor the meat this is wacky beef not cooked at all it's just been chopped up that's all he's done to it chopped it up because it is that good is that high quality we've got some homemade yogurt as a dressing for this and also a small piece of bread so i'm going to take i'm going to try and take some of the egg yolk get the beef there have some other yogurt dressing try and get a full full taste of this it's good you know i would never when i order steak for example i'm always i'm a medium guy i'm a medium guy so i would never order this but to hear the purpose of this dish hear how you're supposed to eat it here the design behind it i really appreciate it it tastes great it tastes really good i started writing [Music] baby i only want you [Music] that's classic the um artist is just finishing his painting and he's like [Music] there's a technique where you flick the paint i'm just wondering how he decides where he wants the extra paint and he's looking he took a few steps back he's looking at it he's like yeah i could do a little bit more there flick flick it there yeah bottom left little bit of a gap flick it there lucy actually said she's used similar techniques because if you guys don't know lucy does paint and we're on to a course that lucy can't eat yes this is my second course this is george's fifth course so we're a little bit behind each other this is um a cod dish that jeff took four years to perfect yeah we've been waiting a long time for this i feel honored to be here we sat at the table for four years i'm no i feel honored to be the baby's born up he's in school yeah i thought honored to be eating and sources to create is what i'm trying to say is drunk no he's had five drinks this is my engagement [Music] [Applause] and the guitar player here is playing just played about five or six beatles songs in a row which gets my approval okay we're off beatles now but he played penny lane let it be so many beatles songs what else here comes the son george harrison so many great beatles songs he was playing and he's really really talented he's a local from the island yeah we're lucky to be able to listen to his playing tonight because it's very very good i'm having a red wine now there's been a lot of drink mixing this evening i have to say um but eat drink has been chosen specifically for the dish we're having and to be honest i don't i'm not drunk i don't drink that much at home i'll have the occasional beer but i'm enjoying this i'm getting into the mood [Music] nobody i think the painter got his hands on my dish big splat of paint [Music] [Applause] [Music] i was too relaxed [Music] which gets to a certain temperature to kill off any bacteria so it's the equivalent of having a well-cooked piece of meat because it's gotten to the right temperature apparently pregnant people can have a raw egg if it's been sous-vide so it's crazy like it's a cooking process i didn't i didn't know that would help me so much so i can tuck into a bit of steak that's how i used to have it a little bit more because i've been having everything very well done at the moment and like sending burgers back in restaurants because they need to be cooked a little bit longer so this is very good as i come here and talk to you guys and explain your dishes but these guys are the ones that are helping me to do the whole production [Music] [Applause] so now we're going to go to the home park uh in latin america and specifically in costa rica i want you guys to keep the dessert like that and then i will tell you what we need to do before we were in latin america and counting costa rica we were conquered by spanish right like 450 years ago same like in the philippines before we were being conquered by them our indigenous people were using the cacao nibs as a coin that was our trading point we don't have a we don't have gold we don't use the gold as a trading we will use like pressure stones we use cocoa or cacao nibs as a trainer so this dessert is made out of completely that's what we call it the chocolate textures because it's made out of different textures of chocolate and you need to crack and open the [Music] in latin america we call this pinata that pinata is like a gift that you put on the top [Music] um and also we have a chocolate canel that is gonna simulate like an ice cream but it's spicy [Applause] you didn't need to even hit that hard i just tapped it gently george was like did you feel me yes it's fine it's not that difficult
