5 STAR LUXURY for Only 1,000 Pesos?! Manila’s POSHEST Hotel (This Feels SO BRITISH!)

what good afternoon what are you doing today we will be partaking in one of the most posh activities in all of mystery manila what is this yeah i've i've realized that yes that is right shall i try as well should i do like a prince charles impression and how best not to today we are going to now i'm not trying that well now everyone wants that we're going to no stop stop stop what do it i'm not doing just you've just hinted at something you may be able to do today we shall be part i sound german it's like the queen's english posh english accents aside welcome to the vlog today we are going to do something insanely cool hopefully we haven't been there before we don't know particularly what to expect but it looked cool on tick tock and that's how people decide what to do these days right that's why i saw it you showed me it did i yeah i don't know i thought i think it was maybe one of you guys showed us anyway we're heading to a really really really nice hotel in manila uh where they do an afternoon tea experience and we kind of did a video the other day doing we went to mary grace and they had kind of like an afternoon team we tried to recreate it and then loads of you guys commented like there is actually one yeah so this is a proper english afternoon tea in the philippines in manila we just want to experience it as british people to see how they do it here and the hotel looks really nice and really cool so actually we've booked we've paid haven't paid for that yeah no we haven't paid yet but it's 1 100 pesos per person or it's 1 700 if you get a glass of champagne yeah we've opted to not have champagne keep it a little bit healthier but we this is like a weekend treat for us it's saturday um we thought we'd bring you guys along and i'm excited yeah wow smart casual i'm wearing trousers for once this is almost gonna be a little bit romantic isn't it a bit of a date today i suppose it could be as romantic as you want to make it oh lucy's got a cool new outfit on yeah which i like right let's hop in the car we're rambling there's rambling intro i think we're hopping the car head over there it's in makati so we need to drive over yeah reservation is in 30 minutes we're actually on time for once we'll see we'll see what traffic's like on the weekend i think it's okay i assume we can park there [Music] hi we have a reservation is there parking here all right thank you [Music] peninsula bmw seven series in their fleet oh cool and like a jeep me with pinnacle on the side that's so cool let's just park jose next to it [Music] okay we're entering through the underground lobby the underground car park thank you there we go oh god it's very easy it's very grand already look at this old time this sign is 400 years old is it okay we follow the music i reckon we got there yeah wow oh that's so nice wow i love that picture we've never been in there before guys this is insane [Music] wow [Music] thank you very much i'm gonna be a little bit quiet because it's very fancy everyone's like relaxing i can't wait if i don't want to shout this isn't something you shout i feel like i'm in the library thank you [Music] so there's some piano music is it a pianist have you found it's beautiful maybe we'll do a little tour later yeah and walk around a little bit and show you guys but it's so nice so in the afternoon tea it includes a drink of did you order coffee you want coffee so it's hot tea cold tea or iced tea or coffee and there's like the twg tea which i think is quite a nice type of tea and then there's an afternoon tea set um so you don't choose what you eat it just kind of comes out as it should be with afternoon tea it's very nice so first impressions here so impressed this is amazing i think it was one of you guys who recommended this in the comments of one of the last videos blown away by the interior here it's the tallest ceilings i've ever seen and as lucy just said this is just the lobby of a hotel basically the artwork on the ceiling the walls yeah the plants the piano people enjoying tea i have no idea comment below we maybe should ask the stuff how old the building is how long it's been around we could just google it ourselves but wow this is cool i'm excited for this even the menus are nice so i think it's kind of like a yeah the afternoon tea set is here so if you want to know what's on the menu take a screenshot now or i'll give you i'll give you a few seconds to read this yeah you get scots so this is pretty much a traditional afternoon tea so you get you get some quiche some sandwiches yes scones sconoscone sconoscone comment below lemon i guess that's some kind of lemon cake and then you get three different strawberry macarons and then i'm guessing some other sweets and stuff oh my god i'm so excited this is so nice for us to do this is our this is our table setup it's socially distanced but we're ops each other so it doesn't feel too awkward to look at that [Music] there's the pianist can you see his head my spotify is still playing whitney houston at home okay we've um we were taking some photos yeah and then the woman kindly said that i've got two perfect spots for photos where people see the whole place and she's showing us them now so we get some cool photos the course has derived we've got all of it in one so i normally you kind of share stuff don't you but you have a whole individual one to yourself so all of this is mine all of that yeah i've got my own one here it's crazy how nice i'm trying to rotate it back to me we've got quite a few different options of things to go for um this is a bit of sweet and savory this is savory this is sweet so i'm going to try not to combine the two too much i want to start with the savories we've also got some clotted cream some lemon curd and some strawberry jam as well super nice these are so nice aren't they very dainty okay i'm gonna go in with the quiche because it looks delicious really nice ah every every angle here looks beautiful i don't know if i'm going to use my hands or not so i'm going to start with the cutlery and then probably end up moving to hands in a bit [Music] so nicer the crescendo builds as i bite into my quiche quiche lorraine is a flavor i think it's like a ham is it ham and cheese like so nice lucy's right about the angles in here everywhere you look it's beautiful so i'm going to go for little mini crocodiles here oh that's like afternoon tea you might think this is a very small sandwich but that is the point in afternoon tea they're small little bites and you get to try a load of different things but it's surprisingly filling once you're done with it i'm just so impressed with this place the staff are amazing we haven't been invited here by the way sometimes we get invited to places to try it out we just found it online and we decided to come and book them and as always on this channel our reviews and opinions are all genuine [Music] very very satisfying and honestly until someone said you can come here and have afternoon tea i had no idea we both had no idea that you could do this in manila this does feel very english have to say very cool thing to do on a saturday really nice experience here well there's a goat's cheese on top and some black olives and brown butter brown butter apple or something i forgot the name but loads of flavor in one bite it smells so nice like the freshest of laundry oh wow so this kind of activity in england is more on the luxurious side of things i would say it's not like everyone in england is having afternoon tea every day maybe some people probably will be the rich people probably are maybe the queen does but people like lucy and i wouldn't have afternoon teen every day we'd maybe do it for a birthday or a celebration or you can buy packages as a gift for someone in england which is quite cool maybe you do that here get some of the voucher that'd be nice wouldn't that i would 100 bring my family here this hotel is stunning how nice would that be my mom dad sisters bring people here have a huge family afternoon tea in manila that'd be insane as you can see this is like very posh we got some tuna and some a tiny little egg here quails egg dragon we've nearly finished with the savory items and i have to say the quiche here i haven't had quiche for years i've had quiche since we were back in england you've had the one at wildflower this is really good it's homemade soft pastry really satisfying really delicious [Music] okay so time for scones now there's a debate that splits the whole of england down the middle it's a nation divide about whether you put the jam on first or the cream now i what do i do i put cream on first because in my head that's like the butter and then the jam's like the jam so i've always put cream on first but some people the wrong kind of people i'm joking it's just a funny joke in england it's not that funny is it when you say out loud no no not really um yeah some people put it the other way around so i'm gonna get some of this plotted cream dollop it on scones the scones i don't want a bit more clotted cream i think it needs to be like a doubled amount maybe that's just me being greedy after you pop that on you get your jam and put that on top and that my friends is the perfect scone wow i haven't had this in years it's so good there's like raisins in it it's like um a dense cake with some like holes in it that's the best way to describe it holes yeah like air holes [Music] amazing probably my favorite part so far just taking a bite of this and just like lucy the memories are flooding back if you've never tried this combination you really need to get your hands on one of these it's so good it's so so good i think the first time i tried scones with jam and clotted cream was in cornwall on like a family holiday so this is bringing back childhood memories making it sound like we're these really posh british kids who have afternoon tea and scones we really weren't usually i'd have fish fingers and chips but occasionally i'd have one of these quickly share with you the desserts we've got oh my god that's so cool got one of these it's so delicate i just [Music] i just put my thumb through it but it's on a little um chocolate plates then we have these are so hard to pick up this which looks like a praline walnut thing and the final one is what look at lucy's making a mess and a loud noise the final one is what looks like tiramisu i'm not going to pick that one up something hilarious has happened the lady that's been looking after us just came over and said there any songs you want to request because a pianist will play whatever you want so i think it might be this one let's see but it might not be there could be a big long list but it's like a live jukebox yes are that's so cool that's our request we were trying to think of a song for ages it's appropriate in this setting and that's nice to play on piano so when elvis presley can't help falling in love with you that song that lucy and i love and we sing it together actually sometimes and gaze into each other's souls we'll start dancing here you go imagine if we do imagine no one's we just stand there like with our eyes closed like really serious and everyone's like watching us with our facials [Music] and belt it out [Music] this is where the royal family come and wave to everyone that is so true [Music] such a fun experience here the staff was so nice afternoon tea was great pianist who takes requests price we thought was wasn't too bad at all about 30 pounds we worked out for the two of us so for like a special treat or an occasion it's really really good and they're building itself here i think that's the standout it's just so so stunning [Music]
