CASTING OUR VOTES!

okay you guys today is election day let's take this election day and teach our kids about what it means to vote two and two so whoever's this is this one is gonna break the top okay you guys today is election day john and i just went and cast our vote exercising the freedom that we have to even vote at all but we promised the girls that when we got home if they had been really well behaved for their gram and grams that we would have hot chocolate so i've got some coconut milk on the stove heating up we've got this hot chocolate mix i found online it is the nib more brand it's organic and gluten-free which is great for our kids but then i thought let's take this election day and teach our kids about what it means to vote so i created a little poll we've got the big marshmallows on the left and the little marshmallows on the right the girls are going to cast a vote i have made them their hands and their own little tickets or they get to fill in big or little which marshmallows are they voting for they're going to put their ballots in one of the bags to cast their vote and whoever the winner is we are gladly going to take the marshmallows from that bag and make our hot chocolate with because that is the point and purpose of a democracy getting to vote and conceding that the majority rules so with all that said i'm going to grab the girls tell them what we're doing uh and see which marshmallows they pick all right uh jude and addie can you come in here real quick do you want to represent the left now represent so today is an election day do you know what that means what um which president you want yeah not just the president there are lots of offices in our government the people who make the rules and the laws and decide what we do as a country you put your choice and you say this is who i pick and then at the end of the day they count up all of the people that everybody picks and whoever got the most votes wins okay before we have hot chocolate we are gonna do our own vote at our polling place and we are voting between mini marshmallows or big marshmallows how many baby marshmallows can we get those are good questions she wants to know candidates each a time to explain themselves daddy is representing big marshmallows he's gonna tell you why he thinks you should choose him okay hi everybody i am big marshmallow and i believe you should pick me because if you pick me i will fill your cup i will take your hot chocolate to the next level my big marshmallow will be delicious because it will dissolve into the chocolate but still by the time you get to the bottom there'll be enough that you can eat the marshmallow too the little marshmallows they might just completely dissolve in your hot chocolate they won't give you the same things you can get from the big marshmallow thank you i think we should pick the little marshmallows because of the little marshmallows you get more you can get one big marshmallow or you can get a little handful of small marshmallows the other good thing about these marshmallows instead of the big ones is that they're gonna get melty a little bit faster so you're gonna get gooey marshmallow that big marshmallow is just gonna float like a ball on top of your hot chocolate it's not gonna melt it's not going to be gooey it's just going to be still a marshmallow fake news a marshmallow by the time you get to the bottom of these are going to get a little bit soft a little squishy you're going to get maybe you could take a sip and get a marshmallow at the same time and you're going to get more so with that said both of you that way you don't hurt daddy's feelings my name is marshmallows and i approve this message you're going to be voting anonymously yeah yeah your votes who's voting for oh i'm gonna put the marshmallows over next to the polling place big or little now you know i'm gonna give you each a crown and a ballot okay so this is what your ballot looks like f which one is big and which one's little which one's big yeah good job so if you pick big you color in the big the circle right here if you want little you color on the circle right here okay you're going to color in your circle and then you're going to fold it in half and then you're going to take it and you're going to put it in i guess we only need one envelope oh yeah one bag then you're going to come and you're going to put it in the bag okay so i'm going to give you each a ballot you won't because we won't know who who voted for what yeah all right we won't have to look [Music] nobody's [Music] we have one room for little marshmallows we have one vote for big marshmallows so far it's one number big and one but for little we have another boat for little marshmallows another one for big marshmallows we are tied two and two so whoever's this is this one is gonna break the top one okay here comes our tiebreaker all right and the last note is for little martial a little marshmallows i just want to thank you guys for all of your votes for my people my constituents who believed in me who supported me on the campaign trail who stood up for my values today this win couldn't have happened without you guys i believe hold on now we have one sleeper who has not cast their vote yet ah this is unfair electoral college has spoken all right see jude look here's the votes for little just so you all know i didn't cheat and here's the votes for me three votes for little and two votes for big oh somebody named eggo voted for the big mushrooms now i oh [Music] hey guys we hope you enjoyed this video we just
