INEXPERIENCED DAD HOMESCHOOLS HIS DAUGHTERS!
HELP! Danielle has somewhere to go so Jon is left to homeschool the kids for the first time with Gather Round homeschool curriculum. Can he handle it? Will they actually listen and learn something or is today gonna be one big party?!
I am leaving John in charge of homeschooling these girls today.
Hopefully they learn something and they don't just have a party.
There's a new teacher in town.
You have to have an intro with intro music
if you want anybody to pay attention to you and take you seriously.
Wait, is that like a vlog thing that you learned?
No, this is just real life.
Write that down. That's lesson one of homeschool.
Happy Monday, you guys.
It is a brand new day.
It is a school day, but I am headed out the door.
So I am leaving John in charge of homeschooling these girls today.
They are learning about the American Robin in our homeschool unit.
I have not gotten to vet John on how our homeschool days go or how to do any of it.
So hopefully he can figure it out.
Hopefully they learn something and they don't just have a party.
Chances are with him and these girls, though, they will end up just having a party.
All right, guys, there's a new teacher in town.
I got to do my introduction.
That's my intro.
How do you guys like it?
It was fun.
Was it better than mommy's intro?
Yeah.
What's mommy's intro?
Hello, everybody.
What?
No, she doesn't really do an intro.
What?
She just sits down.
What?
She says, are you ready?
Dude, that's probably why you guys aren't having as much fun homeschooling,
because you don't have a teacher that has an intro.
You have to have an intro with intro music.
If you want anybody to pay attention to you and take you seriously.
Is that like a vlog thing you learned?
No, this is just real life.
Write that down.
That's lesson one of homeschool.
Don't write it on your paper there.
Write it on your piece of paper.
There you go.
Yeah.
Lesson one of homeschool.
Have an intro.
You getting it?
And get good intro music, OK?
If you have to pick an intro song, what would it be?
Quick.
It's got to be quick.
First song that comes to mind.
No, first song that comes to your head.
What song would be your intro song?
Go.
Hype and out.
OK, Elena, quick.
Tell me now.
OK, me.
What are you talking about?
Tyler, go up on the stairs.
Open the gate.
Go to the top of the stairs.
Are you ready?
Time to do your intro.
Come on down to the table.
Everybody, time for school.
Let's go.
Do some dancing.
Let's go.
All right, Judy, you want to go up in the air?
Can I try again?
No, you may sit down.
Do you want to try yours, Judy?
I can pick whatever song you want.
Top of the stairs.
Let's go.
Whoa, here she comes, everybody.
Oh.
Well, there she goes.
All right, head to your seat.
Which brings me to lesson one again.
What?
Have an intro.
All right, guys, let's sit down and get some school going.
Are we ready now?
Everybody got their intro out.
That's what it is.
You just need to get your intro out sometimes.
So have an intro.
There it is.
All right, guys, so today we are working.
We're starting picking up American Robin.
Does anybody know what a robin's egg looks like?
Yes.
It's blue.
They're kind of little, aren't they?
Yeah.
All right, let's dig in.
Let's dig in to the American Robin.
All right, guys, have you ever peeked inside a robin nest and seen the greenish blue eggs?
Yes.
At Niana's house, right?
Activities, right?
They already want us to do an activity.
Can you believe this?
We've just been talking for two seconds and they want to do an activity break.
Do y'all want to do an activity break?
Daddy, what's your teacher name?
What's your teacher name?
Hi, Mr. Murray.
Mr. Murray, it's you.
No.
Don't call me that.
Call me Mr. Coo.
No.
Mr. Coo's here to teach y'all a thing.
Okay, Mr. Cooel.
Cooel.
Dang it, I think it should be Mr. Robin.
Because Robin's from Batman and also we're learning about robins.
Oh, then I'll be...
They call me Mr. Robin.
Hello, Christopher Robin.
All right, let's see.
Robin bird video.
Oh, he's eating some seeds.
Oh, that one's got a beard.
He does?
Oh, hi.
He's a little grandpa.
Come on, feed us.
Day 26.
Look at them.
Yeah, they're all big now.
They got feathers, they're ready to take their first fledge, as Alina said.
What's that mean, Alina?
Oh, my goodness.
We just learned that robins have brown eyes and we think Jude's a robin.
Judy.
Oh, my goodness, Jude.
Look at me.
Oh, my gosh.
She's a robin, guys.
We didn't even know it all this time.
We don't know exactly yet, but we're pretty sure Jude's a robin.
We just learned that sometimes robins make 100 trips from their nest
or outside of their nest and back every single day.
And I'm like, that's insane.
But Alina said they're going to try that tomorrow.
Her and Jude are going to try to go to the mailbox 100 times tomorrow.
But you gotta bring food back.
That's what they do.
They go there, they're leaving their nest 100 times to bring food to their babies.
So who's going to go get me like some, you know, sausage?
No, we don't have to do that.
Do you know what we have to do?
We have to find worms and other seeds.
I don't want worms.
Oh, yeah, we can feed it to Maren.
Okay.
Oh, to Maren.
Okay.
When the babies are very young, mom and dad regurgitate
partially digested food into their mouths.
Do you know what that means?
No.
They bring up food in their bellies to feed to their babies.
Let's do that to Maren.
What time?
It's like if you had to throw up, you go and then they eat it.
Wait, are you a robin now?
No, no, she is a robin.
She is a robin.
One time I had a big cantaloupe.
I had it and then Jude wanted some.
So I put some in my mouth and then I fed it back into Jude's mouth.
Oh my gosh, maybe you are a robin.
All right, guys, we're going to do something fun.
We're going to get away from the books.
We're pretty much done with their lesson.
It's suggested to go out and find robins and some robin eggs.
I don't think we're going to find any right now.
If not, we're going to go see what other birds we can find.
Okay, and we're not doing we're going to find like acorns.
We're going to find interesting things.
Even if acorns aren't interesting, we're going to find things and put them on here.
Yeah, very good idea.
Hey, Elena, what's something that you learned not about the robin?
The first thing we learned today.
It's so important.
Oh, the intro.
Yeah, you got to have an intro.
That's right.
All right, you guys ready?
All right, guys, we're breaking out of here.
We ain't doing school no more.
We're going hunting.
Joke's on them.
This is still school.
I got the easy day.
This is good.
Part of the school day is taking them outside to go look for robins.
See anything, Elena?
No.
You got your binoculars, Jude?
Y'all looking the wrong way.
You got to put your heads up.
Looking into the tree.
See if we see any nests.
Usually it's a lower tree.
So look for smaller trees.
Nothing.
Don't see any birds.
What'd you see, Jude?
See anything look like a nest in here or anything?
Oh, yeah, that's probably rabbit or maybe deer.
Yeah, that's definitely rabbit, John.
I remember we've seen rabbit, Jude, at our old house in the backyard
because we had rabbits go there and we've seen them.
Hey, Elena, how's that deer book?
Here, keep flipping to the front.
Let's see if there's any.
Maybe we can find an old nest and see a hot egg laying on the ground.
I want to be Bear Grylls, Daddy.
No, but we ain't touching rabbit poop.
Why?
Because that's gross.
All right, guys.
I don't think we're finding any birds out here.
They must have all flown south and they missed out on this beautiful weather.
They're lost.
Check that out.
That is a massive acorn top.
Where's the acorn that went with that thing?
I don't know.
I wanted to find it.
Look, that's the biggest leaf I've ever found.
Oh, that was a close one, Jude.
This is my stick.
Do you know what I do with it?
What?
I hold on to this and then I feel stuff.
I like to see if anything's moving, like if I can move it.
Nice.
I stepped in ants.
Ow.
Hold this.
Hold it, please.
Hey, get them off.
Oh, goodness.
Dad, are you okay?
Yeah, I think I'm all right.
I think I'm good.
I think it was just that one side.
I can paint this.
Ant bites.
That is not fun.
Oh, yeah.
There's a bunch of birds over there.
How was school with Dad today?
Good.
I loved it.
Was it the best school day ever?
We're going to try to...
Do you want Dad to do school more often?
Yeah.
All right, guys.
Well, we're done.
That's our homeschool day.
Hope you guys enjoyed this video.
I enjoyed doing it, actually, with them.
Honestly, I was like, I don't know if I'm going to enjoy this.
But once I sat down and did it, it was actually fun.
So now I got to go get the other girls.
We'll see you guys later.
Have a good one.
Bye.
Hey, thanks so much for watching.
