HELP US DESIGN OUR NEW HOME! - BUILDING A NEW HOUSE

Okay guys, we've come to our first big decision big decision. We're already at a lot That might be my favorite yet. So buckle up Good morning, everyone. Today is a really exciting day in the house planning adventure. Maren is awake now We got to get her out. But guess where we are. We are outside of the design studio We are going to pick out all the things all the things for our new house We're gonna pick out all the colors all the like designs all the cabinets everything. Here's the thing Here's what we want you guys to do. We are gonna put polls throughout this entire video of different choices We want you guys to vote on them and then in the comments Tell us why you picked what you picked why you love it why we should pick it and just help us narrow down Some of these options. I'm nervous We have three hours except we're half an hour late So we have two hours and a half of an hour to make all the decisions for our home That's a little overwhelming and we got Marymoo with us. But look at all the pretty things. I came prepared I have my Pinterest with all the things that are my favorite my notebook where I wrote all of the things That I like think I want. I'm gonna have to real this girl. I'm hard today hard. Okay. I can't help it Okay, guys we've come to our first Big decision big decision. It is you can't change this later. All right, this is the That's going on the front of the house And here they are, okay, our house is gonna be white with black shutters and a black door we know that That is a non-negotiable But we have two stone colors. We're trying to choose. So here's the colors for the house What do you think guys we have eerie dry stack and slate Okay cabinets are next we're talking in the kitchen right now Cabinets I have pinned so many different things that now we're like, which one do we do? So these are the ones I'm looking at I really like the gray, but it does cost more So you guys tell me is it worth it to like bump up for that pretty gray color? Which one So far Daniels doing really good Not picking the most expensive things, but we're about to get the granite countertops and that's where we're gonna have a problem Okay, guys Daniels going level six on me She leveled up the thing is we were doing so good the granite all is just dark and like just want it to be bright Well, here's what we got. We have a couple options here. They all look very similar It might be hard to tell in the video We've got really really white white with some gray speckles white with some flecks and some shine and shimmer And then we have three options that are my favorite I think we're kind of between these three that have a little bit of like gray like organic looking veining in them. Minuet Pearl jasmine and Lagoon John Doesn't care. I don't care. It all says level six. Is it the same thing? It says level six. All right What do you guys think? She just throws for a loop. She brought out level seven what? We ain't going level seven. Look at it though. Look at it. Okay So Calcutta gold is gonna be crisper lighter brighter, it's a true white undertone What's the price Here the laughter she laughed Sit down for this one. Here's some water drink it before I tell you that might be my favorite yet So buckle up and here's the other option now Calcutta gold Getting crazy up in here everybody The next option are the handles for the cabinets you guys and I think we're gonna wait because I don't love love love their options They're okay, but we won't be able to change them later if I find something that I really am in love with So we're just gonna do some digging on our own and put our own handles on Later moving right along to sinks so many sinks so many options who knew we have this beautiful cast-iron apron The issue is that it can stain and it can chip and so it just needs to be like fixed if it gets chipped Basically, like you don't want to leave dirty dishes sitting in it and with our family that happens Pretty frequently, but it's really pretty it is pretty other option It's really nice is to get the apron sink in stainless steel, which I thought my favorite look is still nice It's still pretty I do think the kids would probably end up scratching the front of it a little bit more easily This is true as well, yeah So it's still a really big scene but even the bottom being all scratched up But this would probably get Yeah, they have porcelain which is cheaper than the cast iron, but it's breakable It's just that it's very much more fragile and probably not a good option Then we have the traditional style sink we can upgrade to the single basin which is bigger than like Double basin sink, but it is smaller than the big apron sink and obviously it doesn't look as pretty from the front So there's a big price difference. This is significantly less which would help us upgrade the countertops that we want. It's nice It just doesn't have like the same Let us know guys what you think All right, guys, there's so many options here. I'm letting John pile or the back So here's a couple options we have here here are our tile options this pretty ceramic it's kind of looks like it's called Modicum it's like a little bit like concrete looking Kind of like organic feeling nice here is a glass which is really pretty it's like crisp and clean and sophisticated looking Then you have marble, which is really pretty It does need a little bit of extra care, but I love the look of marble everything and then you have This is a ceramic like subway tile it's handmade in Spain so fun So we are trying to choose which one again? What are you leaning more towards? I think I'm leaning towards. I like these two the most Okay. Yes, I agree. I like these two the most but these two might cost more That's always seems to be the case Here we are again flooring so many options next pole flooring where we've whittled it down to two So you have two options here All right, which one do you guys like we have Jatoba some in Hickory Guys, this is a dilemma. This might be the biggest dilemma yet because I'm torn 50-50 on two carpet choices. We've narrowed it down from like 10, but these two are way different one is warm one is cool and Help us decide which carpet now this goes in the whole house. So all the girls rooms our master bedroom Yeah, I wouldn't mind putting vinyl planking or wood floors in our master. I'm just saying choice number one or choice number two Okay, so that one's just like more gray and this one is more Like the warmer color John likes the light So really it's a battle of the sexes husband-versus-wife who's gonna win I like when he likes the other That way I know will cost a good amount we're already at a lot Yeah, we're ready at a lot we're ready at a lot we're ready at a lot So we're gonna have to pick back up tomorrow We didn't get to finish everything but we got a lot of stuff done as you saw got a lot of options picked out Okay, you guys John and I have been sitting here racking our brains. We're trying to make decisions She sent us over like pricing based on some of the things we said we think we like more, you know It's crazy too because we're not even halfway through there's so much of the house. We didn't cover We really only got through what the exterior the cabinets the countertops pretty much what you sit back splash We saw bathrooms faucets showers fixtures lights bathroom floors back We have a lot which is fine, but I'm like look at where we are already I think it added up a lot faster than I thought. These are the big things and the big ticket items I don't know if everything else is gonna be more affordable and so we'll be good or if we're gonna be like, oh my gosh We have to like scale back and make some changes and honestly, we didn't go crazy Like even she said it didn't feel like we went crazy No even she was like you guys aren't doing anything I haven't like seen before like she's like I'm nothing that you're picking is making me Feel like okay We have a lot to think about you guys give your input on those choices. I think it will kind of decide what direction especially if we do have to make some changes Yeah, being able to see the things that are people's favorites, you know, obviously if they were our favorites too Then like hey, that's perfect. And if it's like something different then we can be like, okay, this is an area I think it'll also help to like if some are like more 50-50 like okay Either one would be a good choice here. And then yeah, there's some that's like Drastically different. It's like, okay, maybe we don't compromise on this and we keep that So we've got like just a few days to figure all this out this week We have to also do a low voltage appointment, which is like deciding where? TV jacks and phone lines and all those things go And then we also have people coming to our house to do like an inspection and what? Yeah, bro. It's gonna take like two to three hours. I don't know how many people are coming They said they could bring like several people with them. And so we're gonna we don't need to clean I said you don't need to clean but like I'm not a person who can have people come into my home We're gonna have to clean so we're gonna need to do that this week and then yeah We need to nail down these decisions, which there's just so many Have you guys built a house if you have leave a comment and like let me know what your favorite part was Your least favorite part what took you the longest to decide and what you would like do again or definitely not do again Please let me know that I want to know that we got a lot to think about to do.
