Today we took all the kids to the zoo BY OURSELVES!!! We'd be lying if we said it wasn't a bit chaotic and at times overwhelming, but we survived. Only mishap, Jon getting peed on!

This might be the worst decision ever.
If you told me I was going to get peed on, I wouldn't have thought of it that way.
So we decided to come to the zoo.
We kept Tyler and Elena out of school today to take a trip to the zoo.
We just got here. It's like an hour and 45 minute drive.
And it was pure misery.
So here's to hoping that the rest of the day is a little bit better.
It wasn't terrible, but really they fight non-stop in the car.
So John's getting the stroller out.
We've got just the two of us.
So we got our work cut out for us.
We didn't bring any reinforcements.
We tried to get Graham to come.
She was going to, but she said she couldn't make it as early as we wanted to leave.
But we ended up leaving an hour after we were going to.
Alright, we'll see you guys in there.
Alright, we're in and we'll see how this goes.
Yeah, we usually go to the Africa entrance, but I'm pretty sure it's closed because of the weather.
Everything that they want to see is in the Africa.
So we literally have to walk to the other side of the zoo.
Daniel's feeding the baby.
Last time that we were here.
I think I just finished feeding Everly.
I mean, I used my cover and everything.
But we got up and I was fastening my shirt.
And then a woman came up to me and she said,
You know they have rooms that you can do that in.
I'm like, yeah, at the freaking entrance.
We're so far away from there.
It might be the same way we're at right now.
Yeah, it was the complete opposite side of the zoo.
And I was like, thanks, but she was hungry.
It was ridiculous. It made me really mad.
Yeah, it did.
If I pulled out a bottle and fed my baby, would you be telling me that?
Oh, you know they have restaurants that you could go sit down and feed them at.
No, you wouldn't say a word.
It's just because you're uncomfortable with nursing.
But it's on you, because I'm pretty sure that women have been nursing babies since the beginning of time.
Dang!
They'll be going ham on these people. She don't care.
She don't hold back.
Look, some of them are sleeping.
I see them.
You see the bear?
See it over there?
Yeah.
See him sleeping?
Yeah.
What do you think about that bear?
You want to go get in there with that bear?
Yeah.
You do?
Yeah.
What if that bear goes rawr?
That'd be scary, huh?
There's leopards right close to here.
There's what?
Leopards.
Leopards? Uh-oh, I'm scared.
Look!
What's he doing?
I don't know.
He's eating grass.
He's eating grass?
Yeah.
Nice.
Do you see it?
It's right there over there.
Yeah.
And there's not one.
There's one?
No.
We're going to hear your best howl, Judy.
Give me your best...
Oh, you got a puppy howl.
That's a puppy howl.
Intense.
I wonder if I saw it.
We are half melting down.
It's past lunchtime.
It's time to go to sleep.
Let's do it.
It's 12.52.
Yeah, baby.
We're going to go through the desert.
All these kids want me to lift them up so they can see everything.
I'm like, y'all are going to have to get your own step stool to bring with you.
And you're just going to have to plop it down.
I mean, like a foldable one.
They can just go...
Collapse.
And uncollapse.
So they can see all this stuff.
See the scorpion right there?
Ooh, scorpion, yeah.
That's the biggest cactus I've ever seen.
Want to come up here?
Well, mommy unleashed the beast.
Can you pull her other shoe up in the back?
How many kids can get on one V?
Why don't you guys hop in and let them have a turn?
Pick a shoe and take a picture of it.
Go around to the back.
Tyler, she looks scared.
It's time to go eat, Dad.
Yeah, I'm hungry.
Let's go.
Yeah, so am I.
Lunchtime.
Here, Elena, hold this.
John, can you get them the sanitizer out of the backpack?
Yeah.
Alright, so far not too bad.
Kids are doing pretty good, mostly.
They're kind of dragging.
They're getting tired, we can tell.
And it's starting to get a little chilly here.
The wind is kind of picking up.
Clouds are covering the sun.
And so it's, uh...
Luckily the girls have sweaters.
There's two of them.
I see one!
Oh, man!
There's two!
It's what?
What did it say?
I don't know what she said.
Hey, Tyler, I'll take you right in.
You'll be like a little Tarzan baby.
Let me see.
Oh, yeah.
Guys, I just got peed on a little bit.
So Addy said she had to go pee really badly.
And there's no bathrooms around.
So we're like, let's just...
There's plenty of places around here.
Bathrooms around here.
So we just took her into a grassy area and let her start peeing.
But then she started peeing on her underwear a little bit.
And so Danielle picks her legs up while I'm holding her under her arms.
And then it starts spraying on my foot.
I was like, oh my gosh, Danielle, stop.
It's getting all over me.
So if you told me I was going to get peed on at the zoo,
I wouldn't have thought it would have been that way.
Look, squirrels are more entertaining than all the other animals.
Trying to go see some lions and these kids just want to go see squirrels.
John, make an intimidating noise to the lion.
You're not going to want to use that.
I tried my best.
Guys, you're looking at acorns.
There's lions over here.
What's wrong with you kids?
Want to come out?
Yeah.
Okay, I believe you.
Is that pretty cool?
Yeah.
You see a giraffe?
Yeah.
See how big that giraffe is over there?
Look, he's running.
See that one?
Yeah.
Oh, look at that ostrich coming over here.
See him?
Yeah.
Is that pretty cool?
There's one ostrich.
Yeah.
I saw an ostrich.
You saw an old one?
Yeah.
It's right there.
See it?
What's wrong with the zebras?
They are carrying us away.
Why?
Because the ostriches are coming and eating all the food.
My goodness.
Is that what they're doing now?
Look, look.
That's what the ostrich is doing.
Watch him.
Watch him when he walks.
I thought you were going to scare it away.
Sticking the heads on the ground.
Why were you on the ground?
Because I was doing the same thing as them.
Oh, my gosh.
You're nice.
I just see Jude licking the ground or something.
I'm like, what are you doing?
And then that's what she's doing.
All right, we just rode the tram back to the entrance we came in at, which was nice.
We have a little bit more time.
They closed at 4, but the guy said they don't start clearing people out until 4.30.
So, I don't know if I want a little bit more time.
I think we're kind of done, tired, ready to go.
Oh, look at him.
I've never seen him this close before.
He's so little.
You're a slobbery baby.
Hi.
But you aren't.
No, that's probably not a good idea.
They look like they might be nice.
What do you see?
Doggy.
They look like pomeranians.
They do look like pomeranians.
They do, yeah.
I know, I kind of want to take one home.
Oh, this is a dirt fish.
What do you think about that bear, Ed?
What's a bear say?
We are trying to go see some alligators before we leave real quick.
The kids are like all over the place.
I don't know.
I mean, overall, it's not a bad day.
It was a pretty good day.
It's just you can't really expect to see a whole lot when you have this many kids.
This takes a long time to get from one thing to the next.
Also, Tyler is very energetic.
And sometimes that kind of, instead of helping to corral all of the younger ones,
it kind of helps make them all a little crazier.
So, we're working on that.
She's working on it.
She tries really hard to help.
It's just she has so much energy that sometimes it winds everyone up.
And then things turn into like our mini zoo.
We brought a zoo to the zoo.
The alligators were down there.
That's what's closed off.
They're all closed off.
I took a picture of the fox.
Oh, so good.
Good job.
She's taking pictures of everything, even signage.
Say doo doo doo.
You got blue eyes?
No.
You got blue eyes?
Where's your eyes?
Yeah, where's your eyes?
Where's your nose?
Yeah, where's your nose?
Where's your mouth?
Oh my gosh.
I'm scared.
She just scared the crap out of me.
I know she's behind me.
Oh, what a day.
What a day, huh?
Wow.
What a day.
Me and Eve are chilling here waiting for the sisters to go potty.
Right?
Right.
And Eve, you've been really good today.
I'm so proud of you.
It's been fun though.
This has been a good day.
I'm glad we got to get out here and do this.
I think that this will have them exhausted.
And so they'll go right to sleep when we get home.
They'll probably go right to sleep when we get in the car, to be honest with you.
And then hopefully when we get home we can feed them dinner and put them right back in bed.
They have gymnastics tomorrow.
I hope they're not too tired for that.
But this was fun.
I'm really glad we got to spend the day with the girls like this.
