Hopefully in the beginning of January we're going to do some new pictures for our YouTube channel and things like that with our good friend Brett.
Right now the girls are watching some shows as me and Dana are trying to get the house cleaned up and in order because Nana left us today. So this morning early Nana left. We miss her already. So do the girls.
I was crying.
Elena was crying. So yeah, so that's what we're doing today.
So Brett is almost here and we are, I think, ready to get started with some pictures.
Mostly cleaned up. Mostly dressed. Mostly whatever.
Brett's here taking some yummy pictures.
What are you doing with your hands?
Thanks for being here Brett.
Thanks for having me.
Thanks for scaring our kids with your burglar outfit.
You're welcome.
I love this.
So our good friends Brett and Jessica have a photography business and they are amazing. You can check them out at BrettandJessicaphoto on Instagram.
They do like the most gorgeous, gorgeous like lifestyle wedding photos. So awesome.
Jess was so sweet again to let Brett come and take pictures because they actually have a new little baby at home who is like a month older than Marion.
So she's at home with her two kids and he came and he took pictures and they actually took our last family photos and Brett said that he would be glad to take some more.
We didn't do that today because it's just chaotic around here. We're still adjusting.
So maybe in a month or so we'll update all of our stuff with new pictures done by Brett and Jess.
But it was really awesome and I'm so thankful for that.
Now we're going to let the kids finish decorating the tree, which is what that chaos is.
And then I'm going to put dinner on the table and hopefully get them to bed because they have school tomorrow.
Alright, girls are hanging ornaments now.
This will probably get rearranged in just a little bit.
Perfect for that one.
This was really heavy. I need the perfect branch.
Okay, we'll get the perfect branch.
Look, here's Marion's ornament. This was mine when I was little.
It used to have a little pom-pom bear in it, but now it's just a high chair.
And since she's a baby, we're going to give this one to her.
Marion's sleeping with her sweetest babies.
She's so cute.
I wanted to give you guys a postpartum update.
This is pretty much the quietest time of the day.
Each girl has a little school party or performance or whatever every single day this week.
And then there's an early release on Friday and they'll be home forever.
So right now, the evenings are just the quietest times.
And then the mornings, John gets up with them and gets them off of school.
But in the morning, I'm usually just nursing and pumping and nursing and sleeping.
Sleeping in. Thank you, John.
I can't believe we are coming up on almost two weeks.
Like a week and a half postpartum.
I feel like physically, it's been a smooth transition.
It's been a little bit easier than it was with Everly.
I did have an issue with my milk in the beginning.
My hormones.
It's like, I don't know.
Guys, my body's just designed for childbearing.
I'm not sure.
Don't wake up.
But they go from zero to 60.
So like, milk supply is always really, really abundant in the beginning.
Which is great.
That's a good problem I have for baby.
And because I'm able to donate milk and those things.
But it means that I'm pretty much like a dairy.
I'm pretty much glued to feeding her or pumping all the time.
If I don't, then I deal with like congordiant and clogged ducts and mastitis and all kinds of stuff.
So the first few days at home, we had some issues.
I had some issues with clogged ducts.
But we were able to get through that.
But yeah, I really have to keep up with.
So it's been hard.
Because I feel like at night, she sleeps really, really well.
So of course, I just want to sleep.
I'm so tired too.
But I really should be waking up every two hours.
Trying to nurse her.
And then if not, pumping.
Just for my own comfort.
And to avoid clogged ducts.
And to avoid mastitis or anything like that.
But it's really hard to do when you're so exhausted.
Especially if you're baby sleeping.
Who wants to wake up just about milk?
So like I said, it's a good problem to have.
I'm not complaining at all about that.
But it just keeps me busy slash tired.
Slash busy.
Because I have to plan everything we do.
Around like, okay.
Pump and then leave right away.
Because we only have so many hours.
Before I have to do it again.
Other thing.
I'm twitching.
Oh, I did get my CBC done.
In the hospital postpartum.
The day after I had her.
My hemoglobin level was 9.7.
So still pretty anemic.
Which obviously the day after you have a baby.
It's going to be low.
But I've been just still taking some supplements and stuff.
To try to bring that back up a little quicker.
Than it would without the supplements.
Just so that I can have energy.
But we are both doing great.
She sleeps and eats and poops.
She's so sweet.
Seriously.
Newborn stage is my favorite.
I could live like this.
Forever.
And this time around.
I'm really really being intentional.
About just.
Spending my days like this.
Holding her.
Snuggling her.
Feeding her.
And not worrying too much about the other stuff.
Loving on the other girls obviously.
But not.
Not doing too much extra.
I've been kind of unplugged from social media.
Even my business.
I've been kind of out of touch with everything with that.
Just kind of taking a break.
From pretty much everything.
Outside of family right now.
Because I don't know.
It's just so important.
It goes so fast.
And all these little moments.
I just want to soak them in.
Because pretty soon she's going to be as old as Everly.
And she's going to have her own wants.
And desires.
And she's going to let me know.
And look at her right now.
With her little temper tantrums.
Not over anything.
You know just.
Toddler.
Can't understand the world yet.
Has no empathy yet.
This is.
Well worth soaking in.
I love her so much.
Other than that I'm feeling really good.
I'm tired.
But I'm doing okay.
I've been very quiet.
It's not because there's anything bad.
Or wrong.
It's just because I am like.
Trying to live on cloud nine for a little bit.
We're taking each day.
One day at a time.
If I've not responded to a message from you.
I'm really sorry.
This is why.
But.
Send it again.
I've had a few people that have asked in the last month or so.
About Young Living.
Or reach out about certain things.
If I didn't respond to you.
Please just message me again.
Because there's.
A good chance the message got buried.
Deep down below.
Tons of other messages.
And not that I was just trying to ignore you.
It's just.
I've literally put everything on hold for a while.
But I made a commitment to myself.
Starting the new year.
I'm going to.
Be more intentional about everything.
And.
I'm just taking the rest of this year to kind of.
Rest and recoup.
It's nine o'clock and she's sleeping.
So I am going to.
Sleep a little before she wakes up to eat.
I love you guys so much.
And.
It's so exciting to do this journey again with her.
Right Marin?
Say hey.
Nope she says nothing.
Except I like to sleep on mommy.
All the time.
I love you guys she's so perfect.
Okay goodnight.
