RETURNING TO NC AFTER HURRICANE FLORENCE | WAS THERE DAMAGE TO OUR HOME?

I [Music] [Music] good morning everybody hope you're doing well today we are about to leave why'd you do that Danielle's making some eggs she's been packing up all their stuff this morning kids are watching shows we're about to get out of here so we'll see on the road [Music] all right love them up and we're getting out of here we're gonna pack up the bags in the car which they get in and we're going huh carry it for you you get in the car okay why why why what why does that mean xxx I thought it at least would be closer denied well it's closer to nine then finally by 9/9 three the latest here the problem with this is that it takes two seven hours well you asked the Lord because it's gonna rain and we might have to detour because some roads might be closed yes some roads are closed in North Carolina particularly on the road I 95 we're going down part the floodwaters yes yes Lord just Jesus even if it's just for our car to go through just a little bit you can do that yeah it's like that last stretch that last stretch before we get on the road that we expect our house to like that that was closed so we're just praying hump that it is opening back up guys oh yeah I thought you wanted to stay no I wish we could bed but you guys have school tomorrow what is your idea good idea we're staying just kidding I learn all right we're going guys who's gonna say prayers for our trip say bye to me in this house and puppies [Music] avoid travel major routes in it so I mean my head I kind of assumed this would round us around Annie we should ship them but like to figure it out midnight it's porn right now and the roads are very wet and Tyler says chefs pee so it's trying to stay safe and drive cautiously obviously so far we've seen like three signs that say do not travel to North Carolina we're hoping it's just like south of where we're at I tried to look up Matt like a map and it showed it some possible areas being like right where we're at so I'm not sure but we're just gonna kind of take it as just praying that we can make it home in a timely manner second day today we've already had a stop twice just finding the first time we just got gas we got food we're in the middle of torrential downpour in like right outside of Washington DC I was like I cannot stop right here Mike and madelyn guys literally could not stop I was great hopefully they'll be good content satisfied like we got three and a half hours left yeah [Music] so we are officially in North Carolina we have about an hour drive left and there's been some signs saying stuff about rose so we're just not sure exactly where still they're talking about so what if she wants to get closer [Music] I see that without birthday to start be sweet to each other [Music] so you've seen a bunch of signs that have had road closures and detours that you should take it looks like exit it looks like the exit that is telling us to detour is after our exit by about 15 miles 20 miles or so so I think we're gonna be in the clear no it doesn't mean that it's that the mile marker did well it looks like we're not going to be in the clear okay all right so maybe hello we're about to find out if we have to get off this road or not we'll see 995 watch it that's it five miles 95 is clothes always or South Ferry detour what are you here to here at there's books I 95 clothes all the way through South Carolina and we're got to figure out another way oh that's just great they made it this far and now I'm busy it's always that last hour I told you I told you but something about it alright so we're having two eggs it right here we're still miles from the egg hey we needed to take shoes probably will see once you got to take two he'll feel detours and tell us where to go so yeah we're still 20 a little over 20 miles from the exit that we're supposed to be [Music] is also still thinks that I ought so it hasn't updated like D tourists and try to get us back on I 95 let me see if I can figure it out all right we got on the right track and in about 20 minutes two hour drive but that's not too bad comparatively it could be could've been worse exactly so we got about 45 more minutes to go [Music] chase everybody thinks we left you come here you big jerk see this is why he wasn't the boy yeah he doesn't like then you work JC Bui you ready to get out and he's ready to get out looks like the hurricane brings some mushrooms in our yard huh we made it home and guys we're tired so we're gonna close out the vlog right now but it looks like there's been no destruction it looks like there may have been some water it does have a better left it looks like there have been some water on our porch but luckily he didn't get up too high cuz there's no traces of water in our house also no significant damage really anywhere around here on the way home we didn't see really anything some trees down but not a whole lot I know our neighborhoods looking pretty good so things look good around here so real quick you can kind of see that I think what we did definitely helped you can see the water was here but it ran all the way down to the little ditch so we made so that's awesome and I think I'm glad we did it like it first was like there was even worse of doing but if you look at the road or at the rest of our back yard you can see like the water was obviously raining really hard because there's little spots like this where you can see that the water was like causing a lot of runoff and so obviously I was pretty hard rain so cool I'm glad we did we did luckily no damage and the girls are out of school tomorrow ho now we just got a call on the way home they will be out of school one more day at least one more day maybe another day but they said probably back on Thursday so hopefully we'll stay sane tomorrow with all the kids at home anyways guys we love you we'll talk to you later have a good one thanks for being with us on this Florence hurricane journey - in front
