weird scientists William Buckland hap
Hello and welcome back.
This is the first episode of my
A Weird Scientist series.
The first one I have in store
is not the weirdest
and probably not the weirdest
but still weird and definitely
not the last weird English
scientist who was a weirdo.
I bring you
William Buckland.
Let's talk about some stuff
that wasn't weird that he did.
Okay, here's some of his achievements
that weren't weird.
He discovered that Kirkdale Cave
was actually a prehistoric hyena den.
Which he got a
coppery medal for.
He coined the phrase
pauper life
which was fossilized poop.
Which, okay,
that is a bit weird but moving on.
And was the first man to sketch
a megalosaur.
He ate hedgehogs,
puppies,
moles,
panthers,
and that's not the end of the list,
porpoises,
elephant's trunk,
potted ostrich,
and bat's urine.
But now it's time for the weirdest
and probably most disgusting thing he ate.
Drumroll please.
The heart
of Louis XV
of France.
It is likely
that he ate a
human heart.
My lord.
I can handle some weird stuff
like a human
heart.
God.
