Do you guys know how good a simple slice of sourdough toast with butter on is?
Insane. You join me as I'm just finishing my breakfast. Good morning.
Good morning guys. Welcome back to another daily juice. Another daily juice from Manila,
from Metro Manila, from BGC. Last night the lockdown was announced. The community quarantine
was announced here last night and it will be in place from tomorrow until, right, 30 days,
until next month, until April. So we're feeling a bit weird about it to be honest. It's a bit of
a funny one because we had a load of comments on the video saying you should fly back to England
or you should fly home but actually the situation in England is actually worse than it is in the
Philippines so we are better off here. And we could kind of like, the options for us would be
get out today to go out of Manila and then we can still travel around the Philippines but then
we don't know how long this is going to last for. Obviously we've got our place here so if we're
going somewhere else for a whole month we don't know when we'll be able to get back here.
We've decided that we're going to stay in Manila just to see kind of how this thing plays out.
So we're going to see how the situation progresses. We'll keep you guys updated on the videos of
course but today's plan, unfortunately for our friends, if you saw yesterday's video you'll
see that our friends Hannah and Maggie are here and they arrived yesterday. They were super excited
for this three-week trip in the Philippines. We were helping them plan it, we were going to go
somewhere with them but unfortunately as their flight out of Manila isn't for like two more,
isn't for three more weeks, they've had to cancel plans and leave the Philippines
before they get stuck in the Philippines. So they've booked a flight elsewhere so I do really
hope that in the future they can come back here because I know that they'll love the Philippines.
They absolutely loved them exploring around Manila last night with us and we are going to
see them again later on today but unfortunately their trip has been cancelled for this time
which sucks but it's the right decision for them. But now we are going to brave the shops.
Went to the shops yesterday to get some wine for last night and the queues were just ridiculous
and people are going crazy and panic buying and buying a load of stuff so we're going to try and
buy some stuff today because our fridge is empty and we need to stock up a little bit. So wish us
luck with that. We also did a little shop online but it's not being delivered until next Wednesday
now because that was the next available slot so at least we definitely got that coming so we're
just going to try and buy some bits now to kind of keep us going. So let us know in the comments
how you guys are doing today. George is just finishing off the edit for yesterday's video,
got our bags ready. Are you ready to brave the shops George? How do you feel about this?
Well you said it was crazy yesterday. Yeah. Let's see, let's do it, we need food.
So it's actually not as bad as I thought but a lot of things are sold out, there's a lot of
empty shelves here, toilet rolls are very low, tinned things are very low but yeah look,
these empty shelves here, crazy. Lucy was in a different supermarket yesterday and apparently
you were saying the queues were 20 times worse than they are here and the stock was really low.
Here there's new deliveries of stuff coming in still and the shelves seem a little bit empty
but I mean it seems like this particular supermarket is still definitely getting deliveries
so we're getting some pasta. I'm having to get it out the boxes because I haven't yet put it on the
shelves. Yeah. That shows how quick the turnaround is. So I guess it's fair to say people are
definitely starting to panic buy already. Oh yeah. But I know we're just going to kind of get what
we need, a little bit extra, some stuff for the cupboards. Not overdo it. One thing that we can't
seem to see anywhere is eggs so I think we're going to have to rethink the breakfast situation
for the next, I don't know, couple of weeks maybe. Okay so food shop done, just in here and
someone's just bought all the water in the whole shop.
All right we have headed out again, we dropped the food shop, now we're meeting. I'm so bloody hungry
you won't even, guys I can't, I've done, it's half three and that piece of toast you saw me eating
at the start of this vlog is the only thing I've eaten today and I've done the whole day,
I've done the whole edit of yesterday's vlog, I've done chores, I've done errands. Can we say we
because I've been very, it's very private. Okay we. I've been highly involved in the day but also.
All right but I don't know, I just can't function without food which is pretty logical because I'm
a human being but anyway. I don't know how people fast. We're hangry, yeah, oh my god, we're hangry,
we need some food. We're going to St Louis to show these guys another one of our favourite spots,
we're meeting them. Their plans have changed dramatically, only yesterday we were talking
about where they should go in the Philippines, we were going to join them on a trip, now it looks
like they're leaving the country tomorrow because all their connecting flights were through Manila
but if they leave Manila they're not going to be able to get back in but if they stay in they
can't go out anyway so it's all messed up. Anyway, lunch. So lunch has arrived, I'm really hungry,
actually it's kind of dinner now, it's four o'clock, we've got like a pulled pork bowl thing,
red rice, egg, avocado and some veggies. Delicious. Very nice. Maggie's gone for the baked,
baked eggs, right? Looks good as well. Thank you. Oh thank you. Spicy mayo, this is the one,
thank you. Is that nice? Yeah. Or is the blueberry and yoghurt one nice? You prefer that one? Okay,
I trust you, I'll have that. Trying to decide on ice cream flavours because the ice cream here
is insane. Lucy and I are getting the cookie dough again and a dark chocolate one I think.
Hey, how are you? Good to see you. We're back again.
We've got one dark chocolate and cookie dough.
It is still like green, spacey, it's lovely. I look so rough today. No you don't.
It's the money.
No trip to Manila or the Philippines would be complete without a quick stop at a shopping mall.
So we've taken the guys to SM Aura, got a nice sunset starting to happen on the building here
and we're gonna do a little bit more shopping, show these guys around one of our favourite malls
in the Philippines.
So what do you think of the mall? It's a bloody good shopping mall.
That was a real reaction.
I haven't been in a shopping mall in so long and all I have is a toasty still but
we're gonna go back and get so much. Wonderful.
Because the thing with Hannah, she won't buy it the first time. We look at it, she remembers it,
she makes a mental note of it and then we go back later to every single shop for the second time.
All right guys, I've snuck off from the pack to go and grab a coffee. There's a Toby's Estate in
this mall so it would be rude not to quickly go and grab a little flat white. Keep me going, 6pm.
Hi, how are you?
Thank you so much. Thank you. See you soon. Thank you, bye. Bye, thank you.
Yeah, I'll say hi from you. Thanks.
This looks so lovely.
Where abouts do you want to sit? We could sit there and there's like seats for everyone
because these are all seats for three. Yeah, yeah. Should we do that?
Nice view, right? Such a lovely view. This is stunning. I can't believe you guys live here.
Good choice of venue. Thank you. Let's go get some snacks. Oh yes.
Time to say goodbye to these guys. They're heading off, leaving the Philippines,
short but sweet visit really. One day visit. One day. That wasn't how it was planned but
they will be back once all this blows over. Nice to see you guys. Nice to see you guys,
enjoy your very long travel day. 24 hours. It was the best 24 hours.
It was nice to see you. Thank you so much. Thank you. It's been lovely.
We'll redo the Philippines trip. Yes. Yeah, we've got our road trip. Exactly.
To Bohol. Yes. Bohol. Where? Bohol. Bohol. Bohol? We're very posh.
So it's currently Friday night in BTC. This is usually absolutely heaving with people
out for meals and like night and sound and things and it's literally dead. There's still
people out and there's still people at restaurants and stuff. There's nowhere near as many people as
we're used to seeing it alone. Completely empty. Daily Juice is back at the same time tomorrow.
Next up on YouTube, whatever you feel like.
