Hi, I'm Aaron Pierre from West Croydon, South London.
And I'm Kelvin Harrison Jr. from New Orleans.
And today we're gonna see who has the best hometown
with the hook.
Which of your hometowns has the best music?
I mean, it's subjective, really.
Yeah, I think art and music is subjective.
I really love music that comes out of
New Orleans, Louisiana.
Louis Armstrong is one of my favorite artists.
I have a vinyl that is him and Ella Fitzgerald together.
That's one of my favorite vinyls.
And of course, I'm a London boy, born and raised.
And we have such beautiful music of every genre here.
Is Stormzy from here?
Stormzy and I are from the same borough.
Oh, I love Stormzy.
Yeah, I love Stormzy.
I love Stormzy.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's what it sounds like.
Really talented, bro.
What is your favorite song from the album?
Always Wanted a Brother.
Always Wanted a Brother?
Yeah, Always Wanted a Brother.
Just like you.
See, Kelvin's voice stays ready.
Mine, mine's, yeah.
Which of your hometowns has the best food?
That's a hard one.
Because we both, there's beautiful food
in each of our cities, man.
You know, like here, we have such a diverse city.
We have a lot of Caribbean food,
West East African food, North African food,
Mediterranean, we have every food here.
And it's similar in New Orleans.
Something I love in New Orleans
that I tried for the first time was Jumbo Lump Crab Cake.
That was the first time I'd ever had crab.
I love a crab cake.
And I'm addicted now.
My guy, Darryl, took me to his favorite spot
in New Orleans.
See, I just want to go on record and say this is not fair
because Aaron worked in New Orleans and worked in my city.
He got friends in my city, lifetime homies.
And I haven't had the opportunity to work in London yet.
So it's not that I don't, I'm just, I don't know nothing.
I just don't know nothing yet.
Yeah, that's it.
And this is on get, y'all.
Find me a job, please.
Which of your hometowns has the best day spots?
What would you say is like a cool day spot in New Orleans?
You know what?
Jazz Fest is always a nice time.
Ooh, Jazz, do you know?
Yeah, Jazz Fest is dope.
Yeah.
Jazz Fest is so dope.
Because they got the food stops.
There's like everything.
You can try everything in New Orleans.
There's good music.
There's music from outside of the city.
There's-
Do you know who I saw at Jazz Fest?
Who?
Erykah Badu.
She's incredible.
She's phenomenal.
She's in her element at Jazz Fest.
I'm in the kitchen.
I'm cooking and mixing and fixing the sausage.
Okay, okay.
So you're talking about vocals.
She's cold.
Vocals.
I love her so much.
I mean, yeah, we got amazing day spots in London.
South Bank.
Everyone knows South Bank.
You know?
It's like, you can't go wrong with South Bank.
Can't go wrong with South Bank.
Just don't get on the London Eye if it's your first date.
Cause that thing goes slow.
The London Eye, what's that?
And if it goes wrong,
it's like, it moves at like one mile per hour.
It's a train?
No, it's a big wheel.
Oh.
Yeah, and if it's not,
if the conversation isn't flowing,
that's like a whole lot of time.
Yeah, pretty much.
No, that's the thing that lights up
that we see in the night.
Yeah.
I've seen it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Aaron, you had your turn in the morning show.
Is there anything you'd like to say?
Yeah, I mean,
I think the first thing I'll say is that
it's literally impossible
not to have a great time in the morning show.
Like, the team is so close
and everybody's so passionate about the work.
And I really just enjoy continuing to be a student.
You know what I mean?
Just continuing to learn from actors
who have vastly more experience than me.
Like Jen, Reese, you know, Marion Cotillon.
I was just a student.
I was taking notes.
I was listening.
You know what I mean?
You have like two ears and two eyes
and one mouth for a reason.
I was just paying attention.
I can't believe you get to work with talent.
That's so cool.
I know.
It was, yeah, it was amazing.
Which of your hometowns
has the best tourism activities?
Like, both probably.
Both.
We both have amazing festivals.
We have Notting Hill Carnival,
which is fire all the time.
And you guys have Madiba.
I've only seen the movie Madiba.
No, you gotta come to Carnival, man.
You gotta come to Carnival.
Is Carnival a Caribbean thing or just?
It's very much a thing for everyone.
Everyone, you know, no matter where you're from.
But its roots are in, you know, the Black Diaspora.
But you gotta come through.
We'll go to Carnival one day.
I know something similar in New Orleans.
We gotta do Mardi Gras too.
Yeah, we'll do Mardi Gras, yeah.
Which of your hometowns has the best night out?
I mean, we're talking about New Orleans and London.
Like, you can, you can.
It's always a good time.
Yeah, yeah.
There's endless things to do in both of these cities.
What's that really popular street in New Orleans?
Oh, Bourbon?
Bourbon.
Bourbon is great.
I've heard there's a lot to do on Bourbon.
And, you know, of course we have Soho.
We have Shoreditch.
We have all of these wonderful places in London.
It's not a competition, man.
Listen, I'm a London boy, born and raised.
London is my favorite city in the world.
At the same time, New Orleans is such a beautiful city.
It really became my second home
while I was there filming Rebel Ridge.
So I'm deeply grateful to New Orleans.
I've got some lifelong friends over there now.
Aaron gotta get me a job in the UK now
so that I can also have a lot of things to say about London.
I'm too unfamiliar.
This was an unfair advantage.
We're starting tonight with the Nigerian restaurant.
I'm gonna hold you to it.
You heard it here first.
And thank you for watching.
Yeah, yeah.
The hook.
