Should you get a male or female ragdoll cat? Is one more affectionate than the other?
Today I am going to explain the differences between a male and female Ragdoll Cat .
So you're thinking about getting a ragdoll cat, but you're not sure whether to get a male
or female cat. You're wondering, is one more affectionate than the other? And whether
other differences exist? Today, I'm going to explain the differences between a male and female
ragdoll cat. I am the Cat Butler, and I own two ragdoll cats, Teemo and Aria, who are both from
the same litter. Teemo is a male cat who is always up to no good, while Aria is a female
cat who loves to be by my side. Both male and female cats equally display the affection,
playful behavior, and sweet temperament of the ragdoll breed. But here is where the genders
differ. In terms of size, male cats are generally larger than female cats. A fully grown male cat
can weigh up to 20 pounds, while a female cat can be between 8 to 15 pounds. Ragdoll cats
are one of the largest domesticated cat breeds and have a sturdy body that is very muscular.
Oh Teemo, look at those muscles! You sure have been going to the gym.

Male ragdoll cats are generally more outgoing than their female counterparts.
Their outgoing nature and kind disposition are what makes them approachable and as a result,
do well with just about anyone. For example, Teemo loves to greet our guests and cuddle with them.
While Arya is a little bit more shy towards guests and hides under my bicycle. Male ragdoll cats are
also more demanding and vocal. They can be extremely stubborn and vocal when they want
something. Teemo meows more frequently than Arya to get my attention, whereas Arya can be more
subtle and soft in her approach, such as rubbing against my leg or acting cute and giving me puppy
eyes when she wants something. Female cats are also known to be more independent and mellow,
while male cats tend to be more dependent and require more attention.
Teemo doesn't like it when I ignore him. Ragdoll cats are generally healthy, but do have a few
hereditary issues such as HCM, a heart condition, and urinary issues like flatter stones. However,
male ragdoll cats are more prone to urinary issues, like the urethra being blocked with
stones or crystals. The cat is not able to release any urine, which can become an emergency within
only a few hours. Females have fewer urinary issues and blockages than males, but a proper
diet will eliminate urinary issues altogether. Feeding a wet food or raw meat diet can improve
urinary tract health by doubling the amount of water intake. Cats get most of their water from
their food. If you want to learn more about a raw meat diet, I'll link the video in the description
below. Considering that most people will have their ragdoll cats neutered or spayed, it is
important to consider how the procedure will change the cat's behavior. It will generally
reduce aggression and make the cat more calm and affectionate. You can't go wrong in choosing a
female or male cat. You will receive plenty of cuddles and love from both genders. Ultimately,
a ragdoll cat's behavior is not only influenced by the sex of the cat, but its upbringing and innate
personality. For this reason, it is good to ask the ragdoll cat breeder for any insight on the
kitten's personality. This will help you make a better choice and choose the personality you are
looking for. If you like this video, please give it a like. Comment down below, what are your ragdoll
