good morning guys welcome to a slightly different daily juice today a subscriber sent us a message recently a very loyal subscriber he's come to two of our meetups in Manila and saying she wants a little interview of us I just currently down said in our lobby of this Airbnb and he's gonna come up here and he's gonna ask her some questions I don't know what they are yeah it would all be revealed of questions yeah cool about vlogging the second one is about Philippines or Filipinos and then the third one is about yeah yeah cool and then the fourth one is it's just like that what will you choose game [Music] let's see where it takes us so the first part is about vlogging the first question is how's their experience vlogging in public for the first time yeah I mean we did we've only ever vlog together yeah it's not like one of us had a channel before and then we came together we literally started a vlog together I mean kind of started by accident not even like holding the camera in front of our face vlogging started on some small holidays I'd film Georgia all the time I have to camera at first so I was just filming you know it wasn't really like telling a story it was just like as and when we just pick it up and just say Brandon we didn't even really know we were going to put together a video of this first trivia we have went on well I was definitely when we first started vlogging facing yeah I was definitely more shy hey guys quite nervous and I expect quiet and I was embarrassed like being loud in public yeah I've never got to me sometimes but yeah very very ready from the start I've always I've never been one to like try and fit fit in particularly I've never I've never cared what other people think I used to weigh like my school shoes on the weekends because like they're they're a comfortable pair of heels no quality they were waterproof they did the job and I like my influence is when I was young were like American singers and stuff so I used to wear cowboy hats when people were wearing like Nike trainers yeah anyway so I've never had a lot of people think which is yeah yeah key thing that I think about all that we talked about yeah so logging for me I've always been focused and if you think of starting vlog or you vlog now I always think that you have to just concentrate on your video you've picked up the camera that day just to make a video and all you need to look at the camera speaking to your audience and also the people who judge you if they're going to judge you for vlogging yeah how do you judge someone for having fun or doing something that they enjoy thank you for that and then the second one is do you have any individual rule when it comes to blogging or anything I say I'd say I bring the comedy I'd say anything wise we both edit pretty evenly yeah we both can edit the vlogs and we've both got with some of the styles so I don't know we kind of share it don't we and if one person that is saying the other might be doing my emails or something yeah yeah and we kind of split the work what's great about us is that there's two of us so we like a two-person production team all day every day one person is not feeling as much one day one person's tired or a bit burnout whatever you can lean on the other person a little bit more and we can split up jobs and even filming throughout the day we try and I mean it always works out kind of even we don't really do that on purpose or when we're filming we kind of think I don't know we don't it's just natural now we are from Lucy and you talk about something and those were myself from both of us that's kind of like a balance within the videos and then the third one is are you vlogging what they're just heavy than your personal things let's get nervous at airports because I had like it's weighs a lot I won't give it up alone or how long it weighs a lot come back down yeah it's very very heavy which is one of the reasons we wanted to get a base here in Manila because it means we're gonna be able to travel lighter when we go on trips leave some stuff the apartment we are more than the tree trunk you'll see but not as much as some people like we've got that camera that's filming that camera there that's filming you there are only two cameras we've got a few other lenses a drone and then the rest of it we've got GoPro stuff but the rest of it is Chargers batteries Lynn's hard drives laptops all the stuff around it that comes with doing kind of what we do yeah we've really smell we never watch the next one is how would you describe your vlogging style I'd say like natural generally unplanned yeah kind of like see what happens okay we would think if someone was following us around with the camera for the whole day and we were just living our daily life we think it would all honestly come out similar yeah if we leave in stuff where we mess up or we we just go off and have a chat or we meet people the street we cook we try and rather than present a video to the audience we try and bring the audience along with our day yeah yeah so we try and make it like you're there just following us around you know having breakfast with us having coffee seeing the things we're seeing the vlogs great because we get to talk about it's an outlet for us to talk about a lot of things that are on our mind and as much as we can bring you on it along with that I think we try to agree yeah yeah which is weird because you've gone it's less of like informative it's not like a video about a certain subject generally I'll order whatever we're acting kind of thing and when you're building a YouTube channel you have to be or one of the one of the key things that can help you is being searchable so things like do YouTube - the second biggest search engine owned by the first biggest search engine Google so if your so when you do like a what to do in many other offs I think if we did everything like that people would probably be searching for that so you might show up but for us it's less about trying to get too many views as possible it's about bringing the audience into our lives kind of thing and we're so grateful that people care like it's not guaranteed that people care about you and at the start I guess I have to start they didn't it's a slow gradual thing that's why we daily focus yeah and there's pros and cons of daily vlogging I'm sure on your questions is probably about daily vlogging but there's yeah one of the good things about it is that it gives the audience that daily look into it's like a daily episode thing like you get addicted to Netflix series or something yeah it's like that when i watch daily vloggers and it gives us it gives you a chance as a daily vlogger to really build your kind of personal brand so be willing to get to know you as people okay the next one is what was the most challenging moment being a blood injury so far it's a challenge I think for us we say this sometimes they're like [ __ ] you can ask this question before and we normally say about like burnout and we've only really experienced it once like properly right yeah yeah yeah and I think that's probably like we absolutely love it we enjoy looking so much we're so grateful that we're let's do it for our jobs but yeah we've burnt out like once to see our families relaxing a few weeks probably the problem is we think we're superhuman yeah and we can't we can just go go every single day film the whole day edit go to sleep wake up film edit go see and after six months that take that can take its toll on you and your mental health yeah and you sometimes you can feel like you're in a bubble when you're daily vlogging you don't know anything else that's going on in the world you're not replying to your friends messages because you literally don't like last night you're lying in bed at 11 o'clock at night doing emails and finishing off our Instagram stories and yeah we love it but yeah if to answer that question I think a challenge is not taking enough time out and I think we're getting better at listening to ourselves because if we do need time to if we do need time to it's like I'm just staying at the front smiling be able to bring you in reach you so say hello hey come here see your earphones on come on wave at that camera we've got a production assistant here with us today there she is 11 11 years old I was telling you how I used to be 11 yeah oh yeah oh yeah we're getting better at like listening to ourselves if we feel like we need to take a break we can take a break now and only now we're grateful to have a lot much larger audience than we used to yeah but I would still say that you I don't regret I don't regret what we did in terms of really pushing hard work and card go-go-go every single day putting out videos because it kind of got us where we are there's never you can never get anywhere without a certain level of hard work yeah and like I'm proud of the work we've been to our channel and things happen for a reason so yeah yeah exactly so you need to learn self-awareness you need to know when to take a break you also need to know when you can keep going and yeah give to your thing that you're trying to build okay so the next one is how do you guys handle hate comments or hate comments we we feel sorry for the people that give them we don't let them affect us because we have we think to ourselves what's going through that person's mind to be sat behind a keyboard in their house and leaving a nasty comment about someone they don't know other than that yeah yeah leave a comment for that reason really but we never let it affect us we're we're cool we know we okay doing we're doing what we're doing we're living our lives and we film it we put our whole lives on the internet and small percentage of people probably don't like us which is fine you're never going to please yeah exactly so if a few people come in and say I don't like the thing that fascinates me is that people go out of their way yeah like the human psychology behind it really interests me that people go out of their way to leave something negative on something someone's done yeah all that is doing is showing that they've got a gap in their lives somewhere because I just would not have time to firstly consume the content they've obviously watched the 15 20 minute video of ours and then they've thought about their reaction and then typed out a negative thanks I like hundred-percent call us out if we ever do anything that's wrong or bad because that has happened on YouTube before not to us we're kind of careful with what we say I'm doing the videos but I think there's definitely room for criticism yeah definitely we can take yeah as long as it's constructive and helpful in a way and not just you're fat or you're ugly yeah you your skin looks really bad or your videos of [ __ ] being that out yeah I think paid comments you just go yeah just right over the top and just do your thing so can you give some advice to those who starting your blog's yeah absolutely don't look at the numbers at first if you upload a video and it gets five use be grateful to five people who've taken you know what you're winning I would not think wise enough ten why it's a not million so yeah don't don't look at the numbers don't think about I'm happy with PPP some people if this room is filled with 50 people they've all sat down it'd be a bit cramped in their own time to watch something you've made yet that amazed amazed it yeah and be persistent as well if you're enjoying it keep going only do it because you enjoy it not because you want to like be famous do it out of passion that's one of the that's one of you think I think the YouTube or an influencer that way is the most or one of the most desired careers now it's like what young people want to be and that's as I think that's fine if the know is you're in it for the right reason and you have to enjoy the process you have to enjoy the 50 views you have to enjoy the editing the finding content the ideas the filming point of comments yeah yeah yeah you have to enjoy everything that comes with it yeah because and you know it kind of sorts itself out because I think the people who don't and the people who are doing it for the sake of it who think they can get somewhere overnight they they're kind of smoked out anyway they get bored and it's like and they stop yeah so then the people who are really in it for the right reasons they come through if they're good enough okay that's the first part and then the second part is about Philippines or in Filipino so the first question is you guys just get back Kawika go what did you guys miss about being here so much many people in England not listen I can't speak about whole countries may have people have read back here there's a lot of like negativity in England the drivers are also angry and it is quite like a as an area if one thing's a bit annoyed or that's why I want to do the only thing and it's a heads down like a community like you don't like smile in the street at people generally or morning to someone they're like if you're if you're in the countryside you do tree yeah if you're on a walk with you like if you are here or in the cities days like that here as well you don't say hello to everyone but generally accepted generally there's a much higher level of friendliness yeah yeah and smiling and good morning and how's it going if you if you are someone in the shop holidays going they're not gonna think you're a freak for anything to them yeah if you order a coffee in England it's a sign but generally you might if you say oh how you had a day but I think why why talking to me just give me the money for your coffee next customer yeah but we always checked people here so the friendliness of the people is definitely one thing and this the way huh we may say it's quite raining it's definitely a lot hotter it is but you can just go outside in a t-shirt and it's always warm yeah the lifestyle we love that's why we chose we do you see we love we love the BBC area yeah particularly the shops the restaurants cafes coffee shops we love the whole vibe the feeling how green it is how long how many trees they've kind of bought into this area just a nice place to be loads of reasons loads reasons yeah so the second one is just like kinda related because what good recipe like the most about Filipinos yeah friendliness he is the top line and also I think like not being like shy to like seeing and dance yeah just be human they're like the most real humans on earth I swear don't blame me everyone anywhere we've been in the Philippines at night we would have shut your eyes in here karaoke and loving it and no one's like in England it's a huge deal if you get up and sing okay who cares like people enjoy singing hey yeah a lot of other places people care way too much about what people think and it always comes back down to that I think here people are very open they just want to have a good time I feel like that people are generally happy most of the people and they're happy to see us and that kind of thing goes two ways so what that kind of brings you guys their intros fast with a setup oh yeah yeah yeah that's like usually yeah we probably should learn more now that was afraid that with pronouncing things wrong yeah for me even places and let me go we don't talk we did a video with another subscriber in Singapore but she was from Philippines and she taught us a load of phrases I need to go and watch that video and brush up on our yeah language I think so what made you guys decide to move here completely or you already have plans since then a lot of the reasons we just said yeah the people who are upset having a base because we've been in and out new house for a year having somewhere to be alone and are in bed and to leave clothes and shoes like somewhere this to edit that's the key thing because we traveled for a whole year now littering to the day is it today next Wednesday three days ago was it so pretty much a year since we left the UK so all our belongings went off with a backpack to Asia let's go let's make videos for this being youtuber full-time 6000 subscribers so you made that decision went off how many we've done 13 or 14 countries or something yeah Philippines we absolutely fell in love with a lot the other places we went to were already very touristy so when you came which we loved we enjoyed it and we didn't only different at that time but when we came to the Philippines like traveling some quieter air we thought El Nido was untouched and quiet yeah like I'm looking back it's like Satan if you ask a Filipino though oh no that's that's easy that's touristy that's crazy but we were like wow we just come just come from Vietnam I think yeah and Thailand and those places just packed with Westerners yeah and then we get to El Nido it's like okay this is cool yeah and then we realize slowly that there's so much to see in the Philippines the audience on YouTube started growing a lot of Filipino startgame very interested in our videos so that's another key reason we've got a huge community here who we want to engage with we want to make that they enjoy our videos so therefore we enjoy making videos for them to watch they send those recommendations of where to go visit my events and things like that I really feels nice going back to hate comments really hardly get any I wanted to add that we are here any we've got very lucky yeah a lot of our community watch our videos there are viewers globally worldwide but a lot of them are Filipino and live in the Philippines yeah and I said we see very few hate comments very very few contacts other Creators so we've got a really nice community we love we meet people in the street and they shower juicy which you know they start you see or day juice or something and people stop it a guy the other day stopped his car on a like a line where he couldn't stop just to run out oops I'm gonna quit again so for any of the community of great yeah yeah that's another key reason why we chosen to base ourselves here everywhere that we do have chosen yeah just because I guess we really do appreciate you for loving the country inside yeah yeah easy syllabus that yeah exactly people thank us for life yeah but you don't need to thank us for liking because it's so easy yeah it's just an amazing country yeah they give us three things you just experience here for the first time in nothing okay three things okay hmm do you know what I love and we experienced it today and just the ease of getting stuff done so like there's an app now we have to get our upon obtained before we moved in yeah so so we're like can we call summer he has an app where you book a cleaner yeah and they cut you to the tiny they show up she was great she was really friendly like nice channel that we offered her some pink that we had she did she did a really good job so we gave her a nice tip as well easy you can massage to your room it's affordable it's great like the ease of getting stuff done laundry drop off your laundry day in England you don't you don't really get that you have a big role directs where you go yourself and watch it wait three hours it's like yeah so we really like how the system makes it easy yeah just easy to get things done yes because we we honestly we have no problem with cleaner are in place or doer and what he had the only reason we don't is time so we would rather get it done by professional as well because I probably shrink all our clothes we are flat out all day every day with so without time so to have things like that taken care of yeah in a really easy way is great for us that's one thing two more two more you go to kaleidoscope for ages you can't yeah good good oh yeah we before today it's really weird like in our land we've got a temple Brighton there are towns yeah and it's quite like a good bird because they hit put them in somebody old what's a good really trendy town and you get expected to have really good coffee but we were there the other day it was like it just doesn't even compare to a coffee here it's so good there's like five places we love and if you watch the vlogs you know yeah yeah absolutely yeah really good air out the place of new UK in London and there's a few good coffee shops but here is especially milk seems to be really easy actually anywhere is traveled here in them where were you devour yeah it was a great light speciality coffee shop yeah we never struggled to find coffee in any means yeah yeah one more thing convenience can't be anything else beginning with the state this is no official UK scenery yeah sure it's gotta be scenery life and Dover to be fair we've learned there's like there's mountains and stuff in Scotland but we don't go there they're not like hair they're like hey nose and yeah everything nature so nature yeah yeah yeah oh yeah something else is you don't get many mosquitoes in the UK that's one negative yeah and I love me that's the one rotation like oh yeah cool enough first one is who easily get fired the most during the day I get quiet and it depends coffee I've had yeah I could do get to a point I might loose I've done yeah this is normally like 10 o'clock at night like Lucy will honestly push through fire I could so I'm still up this this mess to do today let's get it done the system that's backing you eat more appropriate for five meals a day including snacks these like we say three good meals and then some snacks yeah would you say I think we're quite bad at eating sometimes I only have to keep getting the writings yeah that's one thing more rice rice for breakfast yes a lot of tomatoes potatoes like roast potato have you ever had roast potatoes why do you like that that's very British parents and beat some gravy and vegetables yeah it's like a English roast dinner yeah are they who use more CD or climbing yeah for everybody we do mess around yeah I think maybe thank you I get very silly yeah yeah I can feel that you okay the fourth money who's more forgetful about things oh that's easy do you have a bigger hammer oh that one is so easy I never remember it's like an actual problem I have I don't know what it mountain biking which I've never walked take a used to golf light trips in the countryside like go away for a week either like the Downs and stuff in the UK and just take a bike and just go go crazy down hills and stuff okay yeah music names not pee before we don't know that this is really really good painter yeah yeah yes I like doing big waves I've done like a massive like six but while he's painting before yeah there's some things that we still keep to ourselves Oh hobbies the needs of the music people now have a guitar stuff I play piano as well I write songs yeah yeah have them for a Hollins we were very last minute people so we don't generally look too far ahead yeah and focus more on what's going on now and how much our lives have changed in one year yeah from working office jobs pretty much to doing this full-time traveling making YouTube videos in one year to living in Manila in the Philippines a country we didn't even know anything about a year ago yeah that's a change yeah one year has just been a huge change for us so just to try and say five years I can tell you that for the neck we're happy doing this we really love what we're doing we're not thinking of stopping YouTube or stopping vlogging if anything is gonna be yeah if anything there's gonna be more from us on all kind of different platforms and stuff we want to restart our podcast so let's have you on the podcast yeah yeah I before I do be a DJ really really crazy yeah yeah yeah you have to do yeah do you yeah yeah cool yeah we'll do that definitely so yeah more more more stuff from us in the next one year two years five years I'm sure something you'll see anything yeah more travel more Philippines travel a lot of countries travel oh and the fourth part is is I know what will you choosing your sanity and I was gonna say it's like choosing your children but for us is like this is the last row can I ask more questions sure okay first one ease how do you handle stress I write this so if I put those to do I've got like a checklist and when I can cut something off of that it like reuse it and even if I'm thinking of these things trying to remember them in my head makes me stressed but if they're on paper on my phone they're no longer having to be remembered by me I can just see them and I'm not I'll get through that I can work through this it's fine dresses like I'm glad without because stress is a really important thing that we want to bring out a bit more awareness too because for years I never thought I've ever been stressed I never thought the stress had touched me at all but I recently I figured out that there was some periods where I probably had and I didn't know about it at the time so I think stress can be because it's one of those things like how do you you can't feel where you have feel stress but you can't really describe stress very well I can what is it it's not like you wake up it's not like you've got like a bruise on your leg and it's like oh yeah and also it's not accepted if you ring up your boss you said hey I can't come in to work today or why not I'm stressed like then when I get here I know we're all stressed so I think people should take stress more seriously because it can affect your physical health and your mental health yes oh I can't wait nice play yeah how do we deal with stress I think you need I think priorities is a big thing yeah so if you're giving attention to things that are beneficial to your life toxic friends that's a whole other subject toxic people around you who cause stress do you need to be around those people do you need to it also what you follow on social media well he asked I had a huge clear out recently because I was scrolling through it like I don't even not be in a horrible way but I don't care about a lot of these people aren't following and they're not bringing any positivity to me so limiting some social media time and choosing what you follow choosing what you consume yeah can't help with stress and trying to make your mind a quieter happier more positive place I guess that would be a good place to start all there's no weirdness being happen do you guys will insert enough yeah that makes me the owners we hide this place for like a week and then the owners suddenly sick so now I don't quick let me tell it very quickly then yeah the shower that was it was it shower there was no hot water so we were like hey can come fix hot water there yeah we'll send plumbers around and I said to them cool we're going out so feel free to come in to fix it we were actually in and then like six people turn up I'm like who's the plumber know me you maintenance know all here for a viewing the owners had scheduled a private viewing of this place because it's for sale yeah whilst we were in here whilst they thought we were out that was the sneaky part I haven't asked us they thought we were out so they'd have like they were gonna have these strangers walking around they were trying to let themselves in and they had a key all our camera stuff was out of laptops are out our phones are out you're upstairs like just out the shower yeah it's not that's a way to make us happen to us a reason yeah the comments in that video everyone was like that so bad like yeah nothing you were gonna go to third now if you want opening the group of your support is our fastest we've got a juices juices juices yeah I got exercise for juices legends yeah what do you think juicy letters maybe the juicy squad yeah Jesus God works yeah that's any of any of the above I'll paint the last night yeah if you're not a vlogger what other things do you think you're doing now oh we've never been asked that it's a great question I think I would find the percent like to be a full-time musician yeah I think touring musician going around playing music playing to crowds recording music writing songs something I want to try and do myself on the side when I get a little time has a really raining yeah that's why if we didn't do this if we didn't leave our own jobs I think I probably still the amount of job but unprogressive that yeah you higher position I don't really know like definitely I said I never knew I finished college meant and what wanted to do so I went into a job that I was already part-time and I went full-time cuz I didn't mean no but I don't know I think now I'm doing this I love being creative every day so we don't have to be second create a would you be a painter full-time sell your paintings have an exhibition yeah many people have well what's your what's your dream situation even doing things like whatever what are you but I won there's actually but working searching for you Nina is amazing you another nurse maybe yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah maybe
