AMAZED BY FILIPINO TRUST! Honesty Store In Batanes, Philippines

Wow. What a lovely morning. Even though it's not as sunny, it doesn't matter. Still nice and bright. Good morning guys. Welcome to another daily juice. The reason I'm bent over is because I've just eaten so much and I feel a little bit sick. I didn't even eat that much. You know when you drink loads of water and you're like, that's how I feel. Good start to the day. This morning we are off to one of the most highly requested places that we visit here in the tennis at the honesty store. We're so excited to go here. We've not seen what it's all about yet. We've just heard things. So we're not too sure what to expect. So we're going to head over there now. I think it's about a 40 minute drive from here on our bike. We were just saying earlier and I put it on my Instagram yesterday about the people here. I mean the fact that they have an honesty store is incredible. We have where we're staying, the place we're staying has like a little tuck shop kind of thing with some crisps and some biscuits and things and some drinks and there's a little sign on it saying, um, this is our little honesty store self serve, um, for honest people like you and they're so trusting and really, really kind. After being in botanist for two or three days now we can see why they would have an honesty store. It's so peaceful here. So calm. Everyone's so friendly. When you're driving along, every single person you go past either wave, smile, says hello, says welcome. They seem so happy to have people here to show, to see this incredible place. And I also learned earlier that you're not actually allowed to have any land on here unless you are from an Ivatan, I think is the word, or you've married one. That makes sense. Yeah. I think otherwise everyone would live here because it's so beautiful. And it's like yesterday with the person that put the cardboard out on our bike cause it was sunny and they didn't want anything back. They didn't tell us that they did it. They just did it and that's it. We don't know who did it. Someone did it. But it's almost the whole like giving and not expecting anything back in return. It's just genuine, kind, kind people that live here. Just had an incredible meal here. Cafe de Toucan. You have to come here if you come to Pitano's. Really nice burger, great coffee. We've been spending a lot of time here. Probably be back as well before we leave. So we've just, of course, like every day here, we're driving along to go to the honesty store and we have to make a stop because we see something amazing. So we were just driving. Where's the road? It's funny, you look up into the green here and you don't even know where the road is. This, I think it's just along here driving along. We looked down and we saw this beautiful bit of like a private hidden beach. Well, it's not really a beach, it's all rocks, but like beautiful, clear water, all blue. It looks like Jurassic Park or something, doesn't it? It's all like big hills again and big slopes and cliffs with the green on top. Massive jagged rocks, all these funny different rock formations and the most beautiful blue water. So I could describe it as like somewhere in England in Cornwall, but the water is just so much clearer and more beautiful. Amazing. Someone already here getting the Insta. Hello. Oh, that's cool. Happy swimming. Keep this area always clean. Such clear water here. Beautiful. Nice little hidden spot that you only see if you spot it from the road. Just found a little sea urchin here as well. Never seen one out of water, but they do scare me a little bit. I mean, not this one really, because it can't do much now, but look at them spikes. So Lucy fancies a quick dip in this water, looks so clear. These rocks are extremely sharp, so I kind of wish I had some sort of flip-flop or beach shoe with me, but I'm just going to go for a little paddle down here. I'm a little concerned that there might be sea urchins because I saw this one, so I'm going to have to have to keep my eye out a little bit. Yeah, be careful. I think it's worth it for the dip. Walking back up here now and it's like Jurassic Park. Absolutely incredible. It's like that or Avatar. Yeah. Avatar is one of my favorite films ever. I'm obsessed with the people in it. Well, not the people, the avatars. And the Pandora, the land, the land, the planet. Oh, on Avatar. Pandora's the planet, right? You know more about Avatar than I do. Yeah, it's so funny. Here we are, guys, in Havana at the Honesty Coffee Shop. Pride of the people. And I can see why. So as far as I know, no one even works here. And you just choose what you want. Well, maybe someone works here to make coffee. I don't know. We literally have no idea. Haven't watched any videos on this before. We were really, really excited to come here and experience it for ourselves. And here we are. Can't believe we're here. So I think I think how it works is that you kind of choose what you want and then you just leave the money. Yeah. You and me, we know that love is in the air like the wind blowing. This place is adorable. There's no one in here, as in no customers and no people working here. And it's basically like a normal gift shop. This looks like where the till would be. Need smaller bills, coins, for instance. Press a button so that if you need stuff for here. This is the payment box. Thank you for being honest. You've helped maintain this store a bit longer. Otherwise we'll close shop. Drop in your payment here. Write down what you've got here. Wow. This is amazing. This is so special that you can just. They just they just trust people enough because I think if I'm not I'm not doubting my own country like England, if they were sitting like this in England, I know people would just come in, take stuff and go. They wouldn't be honest. Like, I mean, most people would be, but a handful of people wouldn't. And I don't think somewhere like this could be in England, could it? No, probably not. They've got everything here as well. Bags, T-shirts, cloths, jewellery, sunglasses, snacks. Hello. Luce, we should get some snacks maybe for later, for our editing session later. Do you like make your own coffee? We just like take your coffee and then let's check that out. Should we get some snacks? Butter cookies. They even give you a calculator so you can so you can properly work out how much you need to leave. This is good because people like me bad at mental maths. Very handy. Yeah, I think I want to buy this little bracelet because I've got me this little bracelet here. My mum has one and it says in Morse code always together, so she has always I have together. And it's like a turquoise colour. And this is also turquoise. I think it could look really nice on the same wrist. And it's only 65 pesos and it's handmade. That's like less than a pound for a handmade bracelet. Crazy. I love this place. They've got all these quotes up on the wall here as well. And over there, all about honesty and trust and things like that. You know me. I love a quote. Very, very nice. So here's like the book of everyone. Cool. That's crazy. Right. OK, so I need to now write what I'm getting. So I just write what it says, I guess. Handmade fashion. Five pesos, 35 pesos. We're going to give 100 because I think it's such a nice idea, this place. And if we can help a little bit to keep it going, then we're going to. So total 100. So I've got the money going to pop it in here. Make sure it goes in. There you go. Perfect. Nice. And then there's like drinks in the fridge. There's a little thing here where you can get your change. So this is people's money. And then you pay and then get change if you need it. Lots of different coffees down here. Hot water and cups. I get some little cake or something. Wow. Look at these fresh pies. Nice pineapple pie. Reminders, this is a self-service store. You're free to browse, purchase items that are for sale. There are no shopkeepers to serve and take your payments. Please pay the exact amount. George is just taking some photos here. I don't see why anyone would take advantage here. No, I don't. It just works. Somehow it works. So special. Not sure anywhere else in the world where it would work that well. Just shows what the people like here. Absolutely incredible. I've had to give my headdress back and I'm donning my B&M helmet instead. This suits you just as much. No, it doesn't. It really doesn't. I don't think it does. Right, we're going to swing back now before the rain, hopefully. We had a little bit, trickle of rain earlier. Fingers crossed it will keep dry for our ride home. So we stopped on this tiny, small street here just to show you guys what it's kind of like in the residential areas. They've got like stone houses with thatched roofs. Hello. Do you stay here? No, these are all like stone houses. You feel like you're in a different country, but I don't know what country. It feels kind of like old English. Kind of actually. It's kind of like it's... Yeah, actually, you're right. All these... Look at these... Thatched roofs and stuff. A lot of old houses in the UK have like front walls like this. It's like medieval times. Yeah. We're like well into Game of Thrones at the moment. So we're all like, wow. Imagine like a sea... Dragon. Time now for a brand new section on the vlog. Lucy's Pie Review. Here is the pie. Why is this now a section? I feel like I don't eat that many pies. I'm a bit confused, George. Keep going to the new section. I want to start eating more pies. Okay. Smells good. Oh, it smells good. So this is a calamansi pie. The pastry smells amazing. Oh, the calamansi smells very nice and strong. Strong? Sour. No. Sweet. I'm really bad at pie reviews. What is it? Oh my God. It's like lemon meringue pie, but a million times better. Out of 10? 10. That concludes... No, no, it doesn't. I need to describe it more. It's so good. Pastry's amazing and soft. And there's some delicious sauce. Like icing, but like sour... Soury, sweet icing. It's not too zesty and strong. It's really nice and sweet. Great texture. Wow. Get in there. It's so good. It's like 70 pesos. It's like a pound for a massive slice. All right, guys. We just had another meal at this place. We knew we'd be back here probably. We're trying to get the attention of a cow.
