Manila REALLY Looked Like THIS?! Shocked at Old Philippines

[Music] good morning guys our first morning in malanga we got wagging the Lucy we've got Mike we got Nellie team is together we're ready for some breakfast and coffee and to go and explore a brand new place welcome to the blog [Music] we've just come to to Beanery some breakfast is moving quick coffee I'm adding a blog before heading out to its core a bit more obvious ad program I've gone to a beef tapa which is one of my favorite Filipino breakfast with some scrambled eggs and some rice what sort of that pepper and garlic affair looks very good l'union it's a big portion is intact I feel like breakfast emotions are from quite small [Music] [Music] so this course is actually a monument for the Fallen Filipino and American soldiers from the second world war here and it's not to show victory it's actually from when 78,000 soldiers surrendered to the Japanese on the 9th of April in 1948 what these sort of statues against a side of it as well maybe there'll be some information and what that means there are like soldiers and stuff but it's not actually to show victory it's more an expression of gratitude and the free month that they fought and they remembered eventually by the Japanese and a lack of resources and ever [Music] this is actually quite phenomenal let me just tilt down with you so I can show you the fight of that absolutely incredible I was reading this morning during breakfast about some of the history of batter an batter and death march and the conflicts and World War two you can gue you can google that and read the Wikipedia article I recommend very detailed very informative if you want to know more about that I'm sure some of you watching already know the full details it's amazing to come to kind of historic area which has a lot of history behind it and a culture from a long time ago but the views here are incredible let me show you behind me now this is just stunning let me show you properly it's a little bit hazy but you can just see for miles and miles absolutely beautiful you saw the tree swing yes we saw like something hopping from here to here I bet they could easy to plan on it probably as always we've just seen something quite disappointing that we see every tourist attraction we're just admiring the view here look down on the floor and there are just so many plastic bottles just thrown I guess from people here and they just throw them down here today they're perfect why would you do that well I would have a drink and throw it what goes through your mind to think that's a good idea I don't I don't it really annoys me take your plastic with you if you have to use single-use plastic but actually walking in there's a bin full plastic bottles here which is great really it's more down here it's now time to actually go up inside the cross which I didn't realize at first that we could actually do but throughout the whole cross there's an elevator and just crazy and I think I think it's here yes please sorry started back here in a very very tight [Music] [Music] am I just standing is camera on whatever [Music] [Applause] and that lift was a little bit claustrophobic it said load eight people it was nine in and said full load and we went anyway scary because that's not something you want to get stuck but we're back on ground now which is all good news and the next stops and I don't know if we said it in a vlog yet or not but Nellie's not feeling too out today she's got quite a verb my brain so she didn't come up to the table she's there waiting in the car for us with the air along so it's very very warm today again we're gonna drop Nellie and Mike Mike is gonna stay with Nellie in the air B&B and then George and I are going to continue to our next place we're going to today it's a shame they're not coming with us they said go on anyway oh wow the car pots gotten quieter so busy look at her but we're going to les curse us something something but let me find out and I'll let you know so we had some we had some old tricycle let this guy through we have some comments the other day our there's a massive truck coming through oh wow that is a massive massive truck and it's gonna get dusty can some of you guys been watching the old vlogs of me and Lucy driving around our hometown that's what we did that's pretty much what we did that's why it reminded me of today we've dropped Nellie and Mike back off cousin Ellie's not feeling too good so she's resting up and Lucy and I have decided to take the car out continue up to les cassis Filipina ste a coozer yeah that place the Harold the Filipino houses of something okay so that was a bit of a off-roading experience for the la Vida which it's pleasure to be back behind the wheel of this car we absolutely loved it before very very nice car smooth ride fun to drive I think nearly there forty minutes away I was about to say it's hopefully getting cooler but it's 37 degrees and it's half free in the afternoon Wow I'm glad we didn't do this at midday I love ya me too what is that okay so we got go down this Ridge oh this is very sideways not good thank you thank you in the Tiguan for this true da de la Vida can handle it I think just go'd nice and slow I haven't quite finished the roads yeah I didn't quite catch it but it looked like there's some like I might be completely wrong because I don't know if I've ever seen this before but I think you look like they were doing like mining of coal because I was a huge like there's a tractor truck you don't use tractors for mining well I try to say like a big machine that's kind of upright and they're pouring this coal down it is getting distributed off to these we'd like to explain [Music] [Music] [Music] we're riding in a GP down to the place this the first time I've actually ever been in one of these we do have it ourselves this is cool because we've never actually been in one of these one of these like this learn these are like the ones that you get in Manila so this place is basically what Manila used to look like way back in today Casa new Manila Kazon City this is back in the Spanish - Spanish times a minute we need to find out the exact date yeah we need to do a little bit more research this is crazy it's like what's onto a movie set all these little things I'm saying I'll show you in a second but I think we have to come in here to register I think someone's expecting us to be [Music] this place is so peaceful the mountains it's really quiet actually there's there's a few people milling around the old style buildings are gonna how old this place actually here it's obviously designed to look a lot older than it really is but it's like you stepped into different ones you're not it feels like almost feels like you've stepped onto a huge movie set yeah I went to this place in Spain once which was like where some old western movies were filmed like Wild West stuff you know when he makes the fight the other day yeah not the bridge why is this not where mr.
