is by Lara Joffnumeroff, illustrated by Felicia Bond. What will happen if you give a mouse a cookie?
Hey, come on cutie, come on. He's going to ask for a glass of milk.
Well, will you keep your milk?
When you give him the milk, then he's going to say bye-bye and he will walk away. No,
that's not the end of the story. Our sticky mouse is going to look for something else.
He can't drink. Oh, he'll probably ask you for a straw.
And you have to look for a straw in the cabinet.
When he's finished, he will ask for a napkin. He wants to clean his milk mustache.
Then he'll want to look in the mirror to make sure he doesn't have a milk mustache.
You have to take him to the bathroom. When he looks into the mirror,
he might notice his hair needs a trim. What will you need if your hair needs a trim?
A. A pair of gloves. B. A pair of chopsticks. C. A pair of scissors.
So, he'll probably ask for a pair of nail scissors. Oh, and you have to go to get them.
When he's finished giving himself a trim, he'll want a broom to sweep up.
He'll start sweeping. Oh no, everywhere is messy, full of hair.
He might get carried away and sweep every room in the house. He enjoys cleaning, in fact.
He may even end up washing the floors as well. Oh no, swimming time.
So, he will scrub here, scrub there, and scrub everywhere.
When he's done, he'll probably want to take a nap. He's too tired.
You'll have to fix up a little box for him with a blanket and a pillow. But blanket and a pillow?
To that size? He'll crawl in, make himself comfortable, and fluff the pillow a few times.
Just like that.
He'll get so excited, he'll want to draw one of his own. He'll ask for paper and crayons.
Bam!
Oh, what's happening here? Crayons are all over the place.
Oh, he's drawing something. Oh, he will draw a picture.
When the picture is finished, then he might sign his name.
Maybe. Oh, okay, yes. He'll want to sign his name. And what will you sign your name with?
A. A ruler. B. A pen. C. An eraser. With a pen. So, and the pen is in the boy's rear pocket.
Then he'll want to hang his picture on your refrigerator.
Oh, right. Which means he'll need...
He'll need some... What do you think he needs to hang something on the refrigerator?
A. A pair of scissors. B. A pencil sharpener. C. Scotch tape.
Hmm. Scotch tape. Yeah, smart.
Hmm, a tower. Oh, he'll hang up his drawing and stand back to look at it.
Looking at the refrigerator will remind him that... Remind him what?
Remind him... Oh, he is thirsty again.
And what will he want? What do you think he will ask if he is thirsty?
A. A glass of water. B. A cup of tea. C. A glass of milk. Hmm, so...
He'll ask for a glass of milk. Oh, no, not again. Yeah, what are you doing?
And chances are, if he asks for a glass of milk, he needs something to go with.
What do you think he will need to go with milk? A. A cookie. B. An apple. C. An orange.
He's going to want a cookie to go with. Hey, little chubby mouse.
Seems like our boy is absolutely tired, which can mean you never give a mouse a cookie.
