They say we live in a world of fake news, but the strongest nation in the world is not the USA.
It's not Russia. It's not found anywhere in Asia. The strongest nation has always been and will always be
Imagine. The challenge facing all nations is how do we promote economic growth that is inclusive,
sustainable and fair and that addresses people's real fears about the future.
And it is the embrace of open economies and free trade as drivers of innovation and growth
that has underpinned your success and acted as the greatest agent of collective human progress.
It has huge benefits, but it has its risks as well. So technologies generally outside the financial
sectors are expected to improve productivity, but it's associated with threats.
In the future, I see a huge need for human skills. Actually, I think the world will separate between
companies that embrace good tech principles and bad tech principles. Good tech principles will be
companies, countries that say to this technology, hey, the purpose is to make your and my life better.
When we say innovation, well, competition is the most important driver for innovation,
for you to stay ahead of your competitor. The impact of AI will be much larger than
the Internet. Others talk about serving the world. This is going to allow us to do things
because the vehicle is intelligent, like getting goods to people that couldn't get it,
helping people have jobs because they don't have transportation today.
I still believe we live in an interdependent world with common challenges
and that cooperation is better than conflict. We are a global village. When people are hurt
in somewhere else, if they are polluting somewhere else, it will affect us. So we
need global solutions. If we have legality and entrepreneurship, the consequence is equality.
Construct of a new democratic government is inclusion, that everybody should be included
and benefit from the economic process that we are engendering. So this is a day full of potential.
Our success won't be measured at the end of it. It will be measured in the months and years to come.
And I'm very optimistic about what that future holds if we work together
and seize the opportunities before us.
