Hundred Islands Philippines, Why We WON'T Go!

Good morning guys, what an amazing day here! We are having breakfast in this! How cool is that, how crazy! The sea is right here, it's warm, it's eight in the morning, look at this! I'm just going to quickly show you how close we are to the sea, literally there, and we are eating up here. So cool, welcome to the vlog! We made a special breakfast for you! But I'm really happy about this fruit platter, this looks absolutely stunning! So we're up in our little tree house, breakfast is here, it looks incredible doesn't it? This is literally, there's only one of these things, so it's like they've set it all up just for us. Lucy's still flying the drone, is it all right Lucy? Yeah, it's like no photo, it's worth it. I'd bring it back, I think it looks good. We're losing signal on the drone and it's our first flight, our first flight since, well for the year, for ages. We haven't used our drone for a long time, as you guys know we didn't bring it on our first trip but we wanted to bring it out to the Philippines because we were missing so many drone opportunities. We were jealous, we were watching Mike and Ellie's vlogs, we were like, man we need our drone. More coffee, that is what we need, thank you. Thank you very much. So last night the lady who owns this place told us this mango is freshly picked from her farm and she said it's really good, so I want to try it now. Mike's reaction was like best ever, so I'll make a bit of a go. Careful, it's juicy. Is it? I'm wearing a white dress. Good? So good. Fresh? It's the perfect amount of firm yet wet. That's what she said. That's so good, I love it here. Best fruit in the world in the Philippines. I said it last night when we ended the vlog off but like the people here are so friendly, they're so accommodating, they were like yeah we're gonna leave this coffee jug here for you so that you could just help yourself because they clearly saw that we needed it this morning. Clearly watched Mike's vlogs and just know about his coffee consumption. GoPro start recording. What? GoPro stop recording. GoPro take photo. Cool. This is so good, I'm just watching some videos about the new GoPro 4. We kind of bought it not really knowing how to use it and I've pretty much drained the battery in watching videos about how to use it but it's so good. Our old one didn't have a screen on the back either so being able to see what I'm actually filming is going to be ridiculous. It's so good, voice commands. If like imagine you set it up for like a time lapse and you can be in it, you can just like tell it what to do. Impressed, love it. Right, we need to go. Today is a very sad day for me. They're like my favourite sunglasses I've ever worn in my life. I feel like I've got quite a hard face to put sunglasses onto and it takes me a while to find any that actually suit me that I actually like so I need to find some more but I don't. I got them from some random shop in England and I haven't seen any like similar since. It's like I'll have a little hunt in Manila. Roach here's all packed up for another day. We're not sure if he's gonna perform well today. His engine light was on yesterday and make some funny noises but we made it this far. We've got about I think seven-ish hours of driving today. Guys, leave your comments for Roachie, he needs a bit of support. Oh poor Roachie. Look at this beast. Yeah and look at this beast. I was talking about you first. Oh that's insane. Wow that's a proper rig. Yeah so I've taken this on a safari with a land rover going through a river and it's got like just steady pristine shots so it should get stable shots in good order. Amazing. So we're gonna attach it to the back of Roachie. Yeah we're just gonna hang it off the exhaust. Amazing. Nearly time to hit the road again. Roachie has started. Roachie is squealing. Can you hear that? Yeah that's the noises we're getting from Roachie today. But we've had a great stay here with these guys at Olona B&B. Highly recommend it. Really friendly. Great breakfast. Nice room. Clean. I found the problem. What's the problem? So it is that belt that I was talking about. Oh yeah. Yesterday I don't know if you got it in the shot. Uh-huh. So what's happening is the belt is misaligned with the compressor of the AC. Ah okay. So when I turn on the AC. Yeah. Oh really. You'll hear as soon as it needs to kick in the compressor. Now it'll be fine. And if you come over here you see this belt. Yeah. The one at the bottom is the AC drive. Okay. And as soon as you hear trying to kick in the AC that screeching will start. That's what happens. So meaning technically nothing can happen with the engine. The worst thing that can happen is at the AC. Okay. Okay so we may not have any major engine trouble. We won't have. It's not a it's not an engine problem. It's it's. Okay well that's good. Air conditioning problem. There you go. Yeah. So we may have to do without air conditioning in the car today. We've come down from the mountains. We were staying over there yesterday. We've come down from the mountains and it's gotten really hot and my sunglasses are broken. Oh no. Right. We found the problem with Roche. Really. Yeah. It's not as bad as we think. It's the air conditioning. Okay so we just leave the windows open and the problem is solved. Yeah pretty much. Yeah. She's so snobby when it comes to watermelon. Yeah. But but she's the best at picking the best watermelons as well so it's like. Okay Nellie we'll leave it in your hands. Pressure's on. This is the great thing about having our own set of wheels because we've just driven past a little uh lady with like hundreds of watermelons at the side of the road um and she's like waving at us and we're gonna go buy some now. Yeah. It's so cool. Yum. I could dip some watermelon. Oh she's got a knife. She's got a knife. I've just seen it. Oh yeah. Oh nice melons Nellie. Look how cool this house is by the way. Hi. Yes please. So I've heard that Nellie's very good at picking melons. She's deciding. There's a technique. There's a technique. A Oh thank you. So Lucy and I are going to do the taste test. We are. Ready. Just to make sure we are doing the right thing here. Satisfied. Nice. One that tastes exactly the same. It's very sweet. It's good. This road is crazy. This is so good. Only 175 months. 175 bettas. 175 bettas? Yeah. Should we get the whole one? Or do we want a smaller one? Do we need one that's that big? That's a lot. A smaller one. Yeah. It's a smaller one. We can't eat a whole big one. They're very good. Hello. Thank you. Thank you madam. Come again. Thank you. We've been enjoying our watermelon. We've been getting in our daily juice. That was Mike's. We're now coming up to Bolinau waterfall on the Bolinau trail. We just turned off the main road and entered what seemed to be a really really laid back local community. There was dogs just chilling, lying around, people lying on hammocks. It's Saturday here so people are chilled. Kids playing in the street and a really kind of small local neighborhood feel. So we're hoping that, well we've got nine minutes left on this road. Roachie's doing good all the way. Thanks for all your messages about Roachie. All your words of support have been very beneficial and Roachie is doing all good. So it gets a bit windy up here and then we're going to be at the waterfall. So Nelly's kindly let me borrow her sunglasses which is good because it's very sunny and very bright. Yeah she's got two pairs. She's more prepared than I am. I can hear... We're just walking down to the waterfall now. There's three different parts to it I think. Oh I don't know why I've walked this way. I can hear it already which is always a good... Oh there's a dog there. Nearly stood on it which is a good sign. I'm excited. It's very hot so I'm looking forward to cooling off in the water. and every moment counts baby i don't want to miss a thing we can sleep under the stars we can sleep under the stars or hang out in hotel bars driving somewhere in your car we can sleep under the stars we can sleep under the stars under the stars oh yeah so today is a saturday so i think it's quite busy here because there's a lot of locals uh coming down for a nice swim in a waterfall at the weekend i don't blame them it's so cool here we seem again to be the only tourist here which is a common occurrence because we've been trying to not do too many like tourist activities in the north and more sort of ones that the how deep is it mate huh how deep 30 feet wow have you done the canyoneering so good yeah it was probably the highest one was probably twice as high as that at england yeah this is so cool here there's people jumping off the waterfall which is where up there which is reminding me of when lucy and i did canyoneering in where was canyoneering mobile in mobile which was an insane day a bit behind the scenes of the making it happen vlog we got the big rig out today yeah oh yeah fancy rig oh yeah trying a bit of off-roading with roachie today uh this is maybe a little challenging but he's doing okay right yeah it's not too bad we said he's he's an off-road chino come on roachie oh look if a hyundai can ah true what are we worried about you can do it every now and then we'll turn around yeah thank you uh we'll see we'll we'll decide it's okay it's okay thank you given 50 minutes in the wrong direction somehow yeah that's what you said that's how far away we are from the waterfall i don't know how it's been we're trying to find falls too um we haven't been that successful yet because i've just looked on the map and it's like the wrong direction completely um so all these little bumpy roads haven't actually been worth it don't say that it's been fun yeah let's look up a great restaurant like highly rated restaurant which is on the way but not too far away yeah so i'm talking like a 4.3 or 4.4 maybe even a 4.5 oh yeah filipino food right yeah maybe seafood yep possibly sisig so pretty oh hello friend do you want to join the road trip how many subscribers have you got yeah hi hi you go to the wrong way yeah thank you so there are some uh deep deep conversations going on in this car right now on what is the best route to take what's the best plan oh there's some tiny little ducks there we're trying to figure out basically where we should stay tonight we haven't booked anywhere for tonight yet where we should have lunch and how long it's going to take us to get to the place we want to go so that is the current situation on this unpredictable spontaneous roach trip slight road block here i think they're clearing it for us no idea a second road blockage they have no idea look at these guys ah little chicks in the middle of the road lucy it's little hatched for us no it's chicken yeah it's a chicken it's the only way to get rid of them can everybody please stop yelling food hungry borderline hangry so it's not borderline it's full onset they're trying to work out what somewhere between now and manila to stop overnight it's something to do there and um that makes sense we don't want to like take a huge trip out and then come back out again um so we're heading to angela's city which looks cool and we've got a treat for you all it's the we think it's the capital where sisig was first from where it originated so we love sisig mike hasn't stopped banging on about it all day so he's very happy but for now we need burgers faced up at a coffee shop now we need to get some wi-fi to book somewhere to stay tonight yes and we are skipping out 100 islands whilst we're up here we know a load of you have told us to go there and stuff and we it's something you guys told me we're going to 100 islands now i'm sorry mike this is the same thing like disneyland so we need to leave stuff to look forward to for when we return to the philippines in the future we need to return roachie back in manila at some point and we also need to get to sabu for the sinlog festival and um 100 islands tours like a whole day thing and like we need to move to the next place we can't sleep again in that same place so it doesn't make sense for this trip but it's us are we getting okay getting selfies oh thank you guys good to meet you all the lighting is incredible we've had to pull over again like for the third time on this journey back and just because like the sky is just kind of ridiculous color we need to be quick so we can get some shots before it goes down we're kind of being cautious of this cow here look at the baby oh the baby's so cute but this one this guy has super big horns i got quite close to the little baby um to get a photo and i like tried stroking it and it's like oh it's moments like this where you think we are really living life here we're enjoying the best that this world has to offer and this country the philippines said it before we've said it before keeps amazing us every single time
