a day in my life

Not again.
I know this is how spring goes, but I'm just over it. Anyway, good morning.
Despite the fresh little snow, today's gonna be a fun day and I had the idea to
take you along with me and do a day in the life.
Listen for me in a viral. Listen for me is turning. Listen for me when the world is burning.
Babe, would you listen for me? Listen for me. Listen for me in a winning.
Listen for me.
mini dress. I love it so much and I really wanted to wear it today, but it's a bit too cold. I was
gonna do tights and like a jacket, but when I see snow, I just want to reach for my sweater
collection, so I think that's what I'm gonna go with, but I might thrift something. I feel like
it needs a tall boot and I don't really have any tall boots. I think we're gonna go with
a grandpa sweater today and some tights. I just want to be cozy, but also I'm not gonna be able
to wear this like darker palette much longer, so I may as well. I've been really needing to
So I'm heading to town right now. Her name is Megan and she sent me a really sweet message
on Instagram introducing herself, and now we're going to meet for coffee and a little thrifting,
and that is one of the positives of social media. There's definitely a lot of negatives.
When you live all the way out here, it's kind of hard to make friends organically,
so it's pretty cool. You can just connect through a little app and make a new friend.
Anywho, hope just today. I have a couple things in mind that I'm looking for,
but I just got home from hanging out with Megan. It was so much fun and I'm really excited to have
a new friend in the area. I was just gonna buy one, but I treated myself to two bunches of tulips
because we just really needed them a little extra today. Okay, I don't make the rules. I'm gonna do
the yellow in this vase that I thrifted recently, and that goes over there, and then I think I'll
put these in my bedroom. For anyone who doesn't know, I used to be a floral designer. I started
at Whole Foods in their floral department in the grocery store, and that was while I was in college.
I just needed like a part-time job, but I ended up falling in love with floral design, and I
continue to do it for the next five years to support my photography dreams, and I really miss
it at times. I went from grocery store design to wedding design, and then I freelanced for a higher
end shop in southwestern Connecticut, so I had a lot of exposure to different types of design and
installations. It was really cool. I learned so much. I also hope to grow more of my own flowers
someday. I'd love to just make little bouquets. The goal would not be about money. I just really
love flowers, and I would love to grow and just share the happiness with people because
everybody needs flowers, okay? Everybody.
Okay, so it wasn't a crazy successful thrifting trip, but it was so fun to look around, and Megan
showed me a new thrift store, and I found a couple of things at it, so I'm gonna share them.
First, I've been looking for a pair of denim overalls. Bold move. I didn't try them on, but
we're gonna try them on right now. They fit kind of pretty. Whoops. I'll show a full length in a second,
but then Megan spotted this really cute little vest, and one of us had to get it, so I took one
for the team. Also, oh, is there pockets? No, there's no pockets, but I do love that it's like shorter
because I don't really like vests really, but I love this. I think it's so cute, and actually
it's cute with the overalls too. I'm loving this combo. So cute. I didn't end up finding
any boots. There were a couple styles that I think could have worked for that dress that I showed
earlier, but I am a visual person, and I feel like I need to be wearing the dress to see.
I feel like my voice is kind of gone. I've been talking a lot today, so that's probably why.
On any other day, I probably would have gone back to work,
but it's Friday, and I'm just gonna have a self-care night. That looks like dinner at five
o'clock. I didn't really eat lunch. I'm just gonna finish up some leftovers here. This is pretty much
my go-to meal every week. I always do quinoa, sometimes half quinoa, half rice, cooked in
I'll do a protein, then kale and sweet potato, sometimes beets. In the fall, I'll do squash.
I just rotate each thing depending on the season, and that's why I love it. I never get tired of it.
Well, thank you for spending the day with me. I hope you enjoyed this little vlog.
I think I'm gonna turn off the camera and enjoy the rest of my night. I'm going to embroider
and make some cookies and some tea and continue watching my show.
As always, if you made it to the end, I appreciate you watching, and I'll see you next time.
