Fall in, soldier!
It's October, and these are the five things that you need to know.
It's AUSA time.
This annual meeting is the largest land power exposition and professional development forum in North America.
At AUSA, the Army will provide updates on its most significant modernization efforts in more than 40 years,
initiatives to better take care of our soldiers and families,
and capabilities the Army will need to fight and win on the future battlefield.
The competition is over, and now it's time to announce the best of the best.
The Best Squad Competition is a rigorous competition that challenges teams and competitors from across the U.S. Army.
After months of competition at the unit and Army levels,
we'll find out who's the most highly trained, disciplined, and fit soldiers in the Army.
Be sure to tune in to Army social media platforms on October 14th as we announce the best soldier,
best NCO, and best squad for the entire U.S. Army.
Good luck to all the participants.
October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
In our ever-expanding online world, the importance of online safety cannot be stressed enough.
Take time this month to learn to recognize and report phishing, practice developing stronger passwords,
and to make sure your computers and personal devices are updated with the latest software for your protection.
The Army Cyber Command has a website with resources and best practices, so be sure to visit.
National Hispanic Heritage Month continues.
It's recognized from September 15th to October 15th.
Hispanic Americans have an honorable record of military service dating all the way back to the American Revolutionary War,
and we are proud of their significant contributions to our Army and nation.
Stay tuned throughout the month as we share posts on the U.S. Army platforms celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.
It's time for the Army 10-Miler.
The Army 10-Miler is the nation's second-largest 10-mile race.
This annual event draws thousands of people from around the world to run a scenic course around monuments and landmarks throughout Washington, D.C.
This year's race will take place on October 13th.
If you can't attend the event in person, don't worry. You can join the race virtually.
And that's what you need to know for October. Get training, soldier.
