Tyler and mommy date and an exciting baby update! The baby is measuring perfectly, hanging out sideways and has a heart rate of 140 bpm! My midwife says I probably only have a good month left!!! Can you believe that!??
++++++ SNEAK PEEK BELOW! ++++++
Just for fun, here were a few more of the old wives tales, my answers and what gender they mean:
1. Ask to see mom's hands, if she shows them palms up it is a girl - Palms up! 2. Dangle your wedding band on a string over your belly, if the ring moves in a circle it is a girl. If it moves back and forth, it's a boy - Circle! 3. Craving protein? If so, it's a boy - Yes! I've eaten a ton of eggs and cheese this pregnancy 4. If you have dry hands it may be a boy - My hands are SO dry! But the rest of my skin is smooth and soft 5. Baby's heart rate: above 140 is a girl; below 140 is a boy - Heart rate was 140 at the last appointment, BUT all of my girls have had heart rates over 150.. so maybe that means a boy!? 6. Thick and glossy hair is a boy; dull, limp hair is a girl - My hair is definitely shiny and healthy and soft! 7. Weight gain all over means a girl. All in front and it's a boy - I've definitely gained weight in my legs, just like I did with Tyler! 8. Cravings: sweet means a girl and salty means a boy - I crave both.. does that mean twins!?!? 9. Pregnancy acne could mean that the baby is a girl - My skin is smoother than ever! 10. If mom to be picks up a key by the narrow part it is a girl - Does anyone pick up keys by the narrow part? I picked it up from the rounded part! Another vote for boy!
The tally is: Girl: 7 Boy: 8
It's a pretty close race here.. What do you guys think this baby is? Leave your vote in the comments!!
We are doing a pregnancy gender test.
Gender reveal kit test.
We're gonna find out what we're having.
We're the Murrays, trying to master the art of growing up one day at a time.
To where?
Yeah, what are we going to the doctor for?
No, that's not true.
All right, come on.
So we are headed into the midwife for my 31 and a half week checkup.
Tyler's with me.
We're having a special day today, right?
Put that, put that back on.
No, it's not okay.
I know we're inside, but I want you to put it back on so we don't lose it.
Are you being obedient?
I've given up on her.
Just kidding.
Um, anyway, so yeah, we're going to a doctor's appointment.
It should just be like a regular checkup.
And then me and Tyler are going to hang out a little bit
before it's time to get Elena for school, right?
Are we having mommy daughter day?
Hey, are we having mommy and Tyler time?
Watch out.
All right, press three.
Look, are you excited?
Look at me.
Buddy, hold still.
I'm trying to take a video for you.
Are you excited?
Hopefully this doctor's appointment gets done.
John is at home with Jude and working.
Tyler, what you doing?
What are you watching?
Yeah, you can play the game.
Okay, let's see.
Press the back button.
No, the circle button.
No, no, no.
You know like that.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's it.
With your fingers, your thumb.
No.
The button.
Tyler's finding letters to spell cup.
Sound it out.
What did it start with?
No.
Oh, is it pot?
What's the word?
Pot?
Oh, you see she's smarter than I am.
P, pot.
You did it.
Oh.
Yeah, that's right.
T.
I heard this game is awesome.
The best way to like kids to learn is not necessarily the letter names, but the sounds.
So she's learned her letter sounds and that really helps her when she comes to sounding
out words, which will help her read and spell.
Yeah.
And like, this is probably start at the beginning, buddy.
Start the first letter.
This is like the second time she's probably played this game.
So it's really cool to see just how quickly they can learn like when they're equipped.
And it makes me feel a lot better about the iPad time.
Oh.
Okay, gotta go because it might be weird to be vlogging when she comes in.
Maybe.
I don't know.
G.
Hey, tell everyone where we are.
No, we're at Panera.
Panera Bread.
What are we doing today?
Yeah, but what are you doing with mommy?
Spending time together.
Is it nice?
Are you having fun?
Yeah, me too.
This is our mommy daughter day.
We came to Panera to have some lunch and then I don't know what we're gonna do.
Maybe walk around.
There's some shops here.
Until we go piccolina.
Right?
What are you eating?
Soup.
What kind of soup?
Tomato soup.
And what is this?
Oh, a grilled cheese.
It's a grilled cheese.
I love you.
Okay, say bye YouTube friends.
I know they have grilled cheese.
Yeah.
Okay, so I just picked up Elena from school and we are going to pick a pumpkin.
They didn't get to go on their field trip to the pumpkin patch.
So we are here at this little cute little place.
And we're gonna go pick a pumpkin and they are so excited.
Are you excited, Elena?
Oh, come here, Tyler.
What are we gonna do?
What are you doing?
Yeah, what are we gonna do here?
What are you gonna pick out?
Yeah, what are we gonna do with the pumpkin?
Yeah.
All right, come on.
Tyler, come on.
All right, hold.
Stand still.
Hold each other's hands.
Okay, watch out, Elena.
That is funny.
Come here.
Guys, look.
Oh, yeah, that's cute.
Come on, look over here.
There's even more.
Guys, look at all these.
What do you think?
Seriously, their joy and excitement right now is like just the most adorable thing.
What do you see?
Well, Judy, how are you feeling?
Grumpy?
Tired?
Yeah, the other two are just waking up.
You hear that banging sound is Elena on her door.
Where are you going?
I think I'm gonna get them up and then we're gonna maybe trace some designs on these pumpkins
that we got.
Did I show you the pumpkins?
Maybe not.
Here are the pumpkins that they picked out.
Tyler and Elena.
Um, so John is gonna be gone all night tonight because he has worship practice.
So we wanted to wait until he's gonna be here to carve them, I think, because I don't trust
myself, just me and two kids with sharp objects without at least some extra adult hands.
So I think we'll wait until he's home to do that.
Whoa, what you got?
Scissors?
Jaws?
Hey.
What are today are we doing?
We are doing a pregnancy gender test.
Gender reveal kit test.
We're gonna find out what we're having.
Not.
This is for porpoises.
This is for entertainment porpoises only.
Okay, hold on.
I gotta say that.
Where is it?
Um, this is for...
So if you're a porpoise and you're in the entertainment industry...
Where's my finger?
Right there.
Porpoises only.
Anyway, we are gonna do some...
We gotta try.
We are gonna do some of these old wives tales that tell you like what you're having based on
certain things like mom's beauty, your dreams, clumsiness.
Yeah, like am I more beautiful?
Who would say that?
First one.
Mom.
Beauty.
More beautiful or less beautiful?
Go ahead, John.
Don't pretend you're not paying attention.
I'm paying attention.
I just don't think that's a fair thing to say.
No, it's saying like...
Okay, they say like your skin dries out.
You get acne.
Like you like...
Your skin looks great.
Pregnancy symptoms.
Sometimes moms look like radiant and glowing and sometimes they look tired and worn out.
You look radiantly tired.
This guy.
I think you look radiant.
Let's answer that one.
So what does that mean?
It's a girl?
You think that I look more beautiful than normal or less?
I don't know what that means.
Okay, how about compared to past pregnancies?
How about compared to...
Just answer the question.
I'm not gonna get mad at you.
I think you look more beautiful than Miley Cyrus.
Let's get back to this.
Your skin is radiant.
All right, I want you to tell me...
Maybe more radiant.
It's okay.
I'm promising right now.
You hear me.
Girl Scouts honor to not get upset at whatever your answer is compared to like when I was
pregnant with Tyler and Alayna and Jude or whatever like...
You look more radiant.
He's so afraid to get in trouble.
So he just said whatever.
Well, we won't know the real answer.
No, I'm not sure.
I don't think you look that different, but maybe...
Am I glowing?
No, you're glowing.
If I have more beauty, then that means it's a boy.
I think you're more beautiful.
John thinks he was a boy.
Okay.
Anyway, here.
Ready to do this one?
So...
She just buckled.
She's probably okay.
Okay.
Another one is what side do you rest on?
Which I will say they say to rest on your left side because it helps better blood flow.
And I try to do that, but I think I'm just a right side rester.
Like it is more comfortable.
Right side rester.
Right means girl.
We're tied.
Ripper girl.
One to one.
And one vote for boy.
Let's do this one.
Okay, this is a baking soda test.
Let me just look at this to make sure I have the right thing.
I wrote these down earlier, guys.
Baking soda.
So if this baking soda, you have to pee in it, which I just peed in another...
I peed in another jar.
I'm going to pour some in.
If it fizzes up a lot like a beer, then it's a boy.
And if it doesn't really fizz, then it's a girl.
Are you ready?
All right, I'm ready.
Are you scared about this?
I'm scared of the pee.
It's not going to get...
Oh, you guys.
All right, pour it in.
You know this is disgusting.
Sorry about the pee.
It's really yellow because we didn't have anything.
Oh, it's a boy.
Whoa, that's a lot of fizz.
It's a lot of pee.
That's a lot of fizz.
Guys!
Now you have to drink it and if you spit it out, it's a boy.
Oh, here.
You do that one.
I think it's the dad.
It does look like beer.
Wow, that's a lot of fizz.
That means boy.
We should probably not be doing this.
I'm going to get my hopes up.
I know.
We're both going to be like, it's going to be a boy.
Okay, so there's a few more.
I'm going to read them and then try to have John answer the ones that he can.
Are you ready?
I'm ready.
Ready? Find out.
Ready, Freddie.
Okay, this is going.
Dad's weight gain.
Oh, I've gained it.
Have you gained more weight or less weight?
More weight.
Definitely more?
Definitely more.
That means it's a girl.
Dang it.
I had a dream it was a boy one time.
John had a dream it was a boy.
It's for the mom.
It says you dream the opposite of what you're having,
but I haven't had any dreams about the gender.
So, but I think for the dads.
That doesn't mean nothing.
No, but I have heard people say that the dads dream like the actual gender,
but I don't know if that's true.
It's true.
That's not like the actual thing.
It's very true.
Morning sickness.
I haven't had too much.
Good, good.
I've had morning sickness, but not more.
I think it's lasting longer, but it started later.
So more morning sickness does mean girl.
Dang it.
But again, it started later and it's lasted a lot longer.
So it's the only one that's different.
All those other tests mean nothing.
It's the only one that's different.
So that's another girl.
Okay, and the last one is this special mama bear gender reveal test.
For porpoises.
If it turns green, it's a boy result.
If it turns purple, it's a girl result.
I will preface this by saying that the crystals are blue.
So I feel like that could be setting us up.
But it's for porpoises.
So I guess it's fine.
Entertainment porpoises only.
Okay, fill five milliliters.
And this is from this morning.
This pee is because it says in the morning.
John's face is funny.
Why don't you show yourself?
Okay, I have to put that in.
Replace the cap and shake for 20 seconds.
Okay, that's definitely green.
Yeah, that's green.
It's a boy.
We're gonna have a boy.
I'm gonna be devastated.
Okay, y'all say we're going to.
We don't know for that point for sure.
Because that's for entertainment porpoises only.
But I don't know.
It is kind of looking like it's a boy from all these tests.
I mean, this is the ultimate one.
And it says boy.
How accurate are these tests?
50-50.
Oh, well.
Well, that's it.
I guess we'll have to really wait until December to see
which of these tests were right.
And which ones are wrong.
And which ones.
We only spent money on one.
Well, there you have it.
There you have it, folks.
We're having a baby.
