Happy Friday.
I am just getting ready to do my hair
and get dressed for the day and do some work.
I was just about to slick my hair back
and wanted to just show you a little tutorial,
a non-toxic way to slick back your hair.
Using the Skye Organics Organic Castor Oil,
and I just applied that to the tops of my hair,
and then I'm taking my Beauty by Earth Bore Bristle Brush,
and we're gonna slick it back.
My hair was so frizzy yesterday.
We're not taking any chances today.
It is super humid out,
so we're just slicking it back.
We're not even gonna try to blow dry it or anything.
Just kind of putting the hair where I want it on my head,
and then brushing it back.
And then I also have all these baby hairs back here,
so I will put some castor oil on this part.
I always end up losing the middle part a little bit.
I think this looks good.
Got our hair tie.
We're gonna secure a ponytail first.
Since I have a lot of hair
and I truly need to get a haircut soon,
I'm gonna braid this part of my hair and then wrap it.
Kind of gives a little bit more of a clean-looking bun.
And then if you need hairspray,
of course my favorite hairspray,
we're going in with the Intersense iCreate Finish,
and I'm just gonna get the flyaways.
They do have a little bump back here,
but hopefully no one will notice.
Got a little slip back.
These are the two products,
Intersense Organic iCreate Finish for hairspray,
and then Organic Castor Oil for the oil part,
and it works really well.
I did a little bit more of just a slip back,
holding it without a middle part,
because I kind of lost the middle part.
Now that our hair is done, let's do our makeup.
This is my little non-toxic beauty tray.
I keep it in our bathroom since it's so small.
I have this tray and I just put it out on our counter.
Has all my skincare and makeup,
and my makeup is very minimal.
Ever since I switched to my non-toxic makeup routine,
things have just gotten super simple.
So let's do our makeup together.
I feel like I haven't done this in a while as well,
so we're gonna share an updated makeup routine.
Let's do it.
I have changed up my foundation a little bit.
I still love the ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint,
but I got this in the mail by first.
Wanted to try it out.
They now sell it, I think, at Target.
This was part of a little PR box they sent.
I've been using this, like,
when I need to just put on makeup for work,
like do things around the house,
and not really waste my favorite ILIA Skin Tint.
Kind of the same thing.
It has SPF 40 in it, so does the ILIA Skin Tint.
I'm gonna go in with my little makeup sponge.
I got a bunch of these at Marshall's the other day.
Just a reminder to, like, clear out your makeup sponges.
I also feel like the shade match was really well,
worked really well with this.
It's 5N.
It's, like, a little bit darker than my normal skin tone,
and I'm starting to tan in the summer,
so it looks a little pale right now,
but trust me, it looks pretty natural.
My mirror.
This is, like, my favorite place to do everything.
So, sorry if you're, like, bored of me
just sitting on my floor in front of my dining room table.
Hi, Squeeny.
We are dog-sitting my sister-in-law's dog right now,
so we have two doggos in the house.
You wanna say hi, Winnie?
Oh, hi, buddy.
This is Winston.
So precious.
He kinda looks like Milo when they, like,
both have a haircut, but they look literally the same.
Hi, bud.
We are also waiting on an Ikea delivery.
We finally pulled the trigger to get closets
for our primary bed.
If you're new here, we flipped our entire house.
We shared the entire journey on TikTok,
so if you're interested, go check that out.
We finally are doing our closets, and I cannot wait
because I've just been feeling super uninspired
about outfits and everything, and I'm trying hard, clearly,
but I think having, like, an organized closet's
gonna be so nice, so we're just waiting for that delivery.
Should be here in the next few hours.
We also have a wedding this weekend,
so we're flying back to New Jersey later today,
and I'm hoping that it gets here before we leave.
I really like the coverage with this.
I've also learned that whether I'm using this foundation
or the other foundation, I have to use a sponge
because using my fingers makes it look super,
like, it just looks really patchy and blotchy,
and I've always kind of felt that way about any foundation.
If I've used my fingers or a brush,
sponge is just, like, my go-to.
Our closets are here.
He's currently putting them at the doorstep,
so I cannot wait to dive into those.
We'll probably, we probably won't dive into them
until we get back from the wedding on Monday,
so hopefully it's easy to put together
because maybe I'll dive into it if Ben's not home,
but he might want to wait for me.
If you want to see that,
we'll probably post, like, a full video
on our house look TikTok and Instagram, so follow us there,
but as I was saying,
I think we were talking about Beauty Blenders.
I feel like Beauty Blender
is, like, my favorite makeup sponge ever.
Nothing really compares to it,
but the ones on Amazon were pretty good.
I haven't been doing any contour
because I actually ran out,
and I'm doing Project Pan where I don't buy anything new.
I do need another one,
so I probably should just, like, purchase it,
but anyway, that is my long-winded reason
why I'm not contouring.
I'm just gonna go in with blush,
100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Blush, one of my faves,
and it's in the color Cherry.
It's, like, a really nice, natural pink blush,
and Real Techniques brushes are my absolute favorite.
I actually forgot I've been doing concealer,
so we're gonna go in with that.
100% Pure sent me over their Second Skin Concealer.
I got to pick a few things out,
a code if you want to use it,
but this is in the color Three,
and it's a little bit darker
than, like, a concealer should be
for, like, under eyes and stuff,
but it does match my skin tone pretty well,
so we're just gonna use it to conceal today.
I haven't been concealing,
but lately, since I got this,
I have been, and I'm kind of liking it.
Okay, the truck is leaving,
so I should probably get all this stuff in.
Our shelving is here.
So exciting.
I'll show you what our closets look like right now.
This is our current closet situation,
and I'm so excited
because this pole is literally gonna be, like,
doubled on top of each other,
and then this is all gonna be storage and shelving.
Cannot wait.
Maybe I'll vlog it for you guys.
Okay, sorry to get so sidetracked.
I didn't realize that was gonna happen
while I was doing my makeup.
Hi, buddy.
Concealer is done.
For brows, I will do one of three things.
I will either take my little spoolie
and just brush them up.
The Milk Makeup Just Clear Brow Gel.
I also have the Gossett's Clear Brow Gel, too,
and then 100% Pure also sent their soft brow,
their Green Tea Fiber Brow Builder,
and mine is soft brown.
So we're gonna do that today.
Brush them out a little bit,
and this will just add a little bit of, like, color.
I'm filling them in a tiny bit.
I feel like next time I'll go a little bit darker on that.
I always struggle with brow color
because I don't want it to be too dark,
but my color of my hair is pretty dark, so anyway.
Then I will go in with mascara.
We are gonna use my favorite of all time, Lily Lolo.
Love the wand on this.
I will link it.
I am so excited our closets came.
We have been waiting to do that.
Now we have another project, yet another project.
We're still doing,
we still have the fence to do in our backyard.
We were planning to do it Memorial Day weekend,
and then found out that you had to, like,
call to see where to dig.
So everybody came out to draw where we couldn't dig,
gas lines and stuff like that.
So we officially have to go ahead,
but we have no time because we have a wedding,
and our DC friends were here last week,
so just waiting for the right time to do that.
And then I also wanna make another DIY headboard
for our king bed,
because we made one for the queen,
and now we have a king bed,
our queen bed, and bed frame are in our guest room,
so we need another headboard,
and I wanna make one.
So that's another project.
And lastly for lips, I always like to keep it natural.
I usually do a thing like this, a little moisture,
and then a gloss right up here.
I don't know if this brand is,
I don't think this brand is a brand anymore,
Charlotte Cook Cosmetics,
but I'll just take this gloss and go over it.
Sometimes I'll just take a Q-tip,
get all the makeup off, and that's my lip.
That's like my five minute full makeup tutorial,
and we are ready to go.
I'm gonna show my outfit real quick,
and then I am going to film some videos for TikTok,
do some more work.
We are off to a quite chaotic start here.
The minute I just put the camera down
and UPS guy just came,
and he brought the dresses
that I need to pick through for the wedding this weekend.
They're going to Ben's friend's,
friend from high school's wedding.
He was in our wedding,
and so he's in his wedding.
I need an outfit for the wedding,
so maybe I'll open these up with you guys
and show you what I got.
I do have one dress that I can wear.
It's a black dress.
I've worn it before, which is not a big deal,
but I kind of wanted to go with something colorful,
and I believe all these dresses are under $100.
Let's do this, and this is from Lulus,
my literal go-to for anything dress wear.
Here are the colors we're working with.
Now let's see what we have.
Before we get into the dresses,
I promised I'd show you my outfit.
My pants are from Fashion Pass,
and I had no idea how to style these.
It's actually just the sheer part,
and I have these pants, actually I think from Lulus.
I have a slit all the way down the side
that are kind of just for a cover up for a bathing suit,
and they make the perfect layer
because it kind of looks like
there's a slit in the side of these.
First, I had just white shorts on underneath,
and it just didn't look right.
Top is from Amazon,
and that's my little outfit for pretty much going nowhere.
Let me show you the dresses I got.
I am not keeping all these,
just trying to find one to wear,
and I do have another wedding in August,
so maybe I will try them on for that.
I have this blue one, love the color.
It has like a silky bottom to it,
and it's drop waist, really, really pretty.
It might be a little bit too big slash long,
but maybe for the August wedding,
I can get a smaller size.
Next up, we have this baby blue.
Kind of has like a florally pattern to it,
which I don't know if I saw that online.
Also kind of a drop waist,
which I'm kind of obsessed with.
I love, I know I said I didn't want to do black,
but the black version of that blue dress,
but I think I got this one in a smaller size.
I love the like fabric blocking,
purple, the lavender.
Has straps, but I think,
no, you definitely need to wear the strap.
This is a pretty color.
It kind of feels like bridesmaid-y.
I don't know, the material's not anything super special.
If you want to see a try-on,
I'm going to post it on my TikTok.
Last but not least, this green dress,
which I love the color of this.
I also love the fabric.
I got a size extra small, small.
Sometimes the extra smalls are too small for my chest,
but it works to like not fall down if it's strapless.
But I love, I love the color.
Well, I'll have to try these on and see if they work,
but if you want to see what dress I end up wearing,
I'll probably post it on my Instagram.
Just got this in the mail.
Primely Pure's new sun care line,
their SPF, their clean SPF collection, which is amazing.
We have their Primely Pure Sun Lip Balm, SPF 15.
Their Sun Stick in SPF 25, unscented.
I already looked at all the ingredients
and they are like amazingly clean.
I always love Primely Pure's ingredients.
It's insane.
And then we also have their Sun Cream SPF 30,
unscented, of course.
And let's open it up.
Super nice packaging.
Only 3.4 fluid ounces.
I can bring this in my suitcase.
I'm very confused by this cap.
I'm super excited to try this.
If you're looking for a clean SPF,
I'm so excited to try this.
Here's my little lunch for today.
I kind of scraped things together.
We had some leftover French toast,
so I just toasted that up
and made little toaster sticks out of it.
We have some organic maple syrup, blueberries,
and then I did some hard boiled eggs
and I have cottage cheese with the really good mustard
mixed in and we're gonna put that on the eggs.
Good morning, happy Tuesday.
I've been loving doing face masks every morning.
I'm currently wearing the Earth Harbor, the purple mask,
I forget what it's called, it's an exfoliating mask.
I'm not sure if this is gonna be the beginning
of a new vlog or the end of my last vlog,
but we got back from a wedding this past weekend.
It was such a good wedding.
We flew home like 2.45 a.m. in the morning
after the wedding, which was an insane choice,
but Ben had to work the next day,
so I was so tired and just took yesterday
to recover and basically sleep all day.
We're going to do a little bit of work today,
but also just take some time to still recover.
I'm about to go make a little matcha
because I need a little energy this morning for sure.
I didn't make one yesterday.
I haven't had a matcha in like a few days.
I just got done editing the video for the non-toxic empties.
I think I'm gonna post it before this video,
so it might already be up, but if not,
subscribe and it will be up after this one.
I'm editing the TikTok version.
That is done, I'm about to upload it to TikTok.
I wanted to take you along to make my little morning matcha.
We'll see what the rest of the day brings.
I also wanted to go to the thrift store
and see if they had a nightstand
to have our closets to set up,
and I can't wait to have closets.
Maybe today I will get started
on just like putting the pieces together.
This is Milo's favorite spot.
He loves the couchie.
So yummy, this is perfect.
I've been really into Rocky's Matcha.
It is like the best quality I've ever tried.
It's a little bit expensive.
They sent me their Say Beauty x Rocky Matcha collab,
which I'm so, so grateful
because I joked around that it sold out so quickly
that I couldn't get my hands on it.
And they ended up sending one out to me,
which I'm like, again, so grateful for.
I'm almost done with that one.
And then I also purchased these myself.
I got their Ceremonial blend, 20 grams,
and then their Ceremonial Asada blend.
I haven't tried this one yet,
but this one I am pretty much empty.
I think, yeah, it's pretty empty.
I just need to like get the last bits and pieces of it.
I think you could put like hot water into it
and like make a matcha milk out of it.
But these have been my favorite.
I love my Matcha Nude Matcha that I get
from a local shop here in North Carolina.
I love to support her.
And that's like my go-to matcha,
but I'm open to trying new things.
I feel like one day I'd love to go to Japan
and just like fill a suitcase
with all different kinds of matcha powders.
But that's the one that I used today.
While I was making my matcha,
I just got in my Detox Market box.
They've been sending me PR on a monthly basis,
which I'm super grateful.
The Detox Market is another great just like website
to go on to find a bunch of non-toxic products.
Let's open it up and see what we have.
I love the Detox Market and I love Take Care.
If you go on either of their websites,
I believe I have a code for both.
I definitely have a code for Take Care.
You can shop lots of amazing non-toxic brands.
And it kind of helps to narrow it down a little bit
if you don't know where to start.
First up, we have Solaris Skin Care's
Good Karma Dry Oil Mineral Sunscreen.
I think it's 30 SPF.
I, dry oil, that sounds really interesting.
Let's try it.
Oops, glass.
It has like a nice light citrusy smell.
And I like that it's oil-based,
so it rubs in really nicely
and there's like no white cast, which we love.
Excited to keep this in my little
non-toxic sunscreen collection.
I have a few so far.
I'm excited to like try them out this summer
and give you guys a little review on them.
And then we also have a liquid black eyeliner pen
from 1999, which I've never heard of this brand.
I don't usually use eyeliner,
but it looks like a really nice,
like one of those classic eyeliner pens
that I've used previously
before I switched to non-toxic makeup.
Goop Beauty's Goop Glow,
their Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliator.
Love a good exfoliation.
My skin needs exfoliation like all the time.
I usually save all this when I get it,
but I have so much now that I just need to recycle it.
Okay, I feel like I have to show you this dungeon
that was behind me that I try to hide in all my videos
because it is not done yet.
But this is the room that I cannot wait to transform.
When my parents come down,
my dad is gonna help us complete this.
We're just waiting on the electrician
to wire that electric baseboard.
But if you're interested in like more
of the house flip side of things,
we do have our fence that we're gonna do this weekend,
which I'm really excited.
It's gonna go all the way around.
That concrete is for the fence,
so that'll go out of here.
And then we also have a shed to put up.
So a lot of this stuff will go in the shed,
and then a lot of this in our little laundry room
will go in the shed.
But this back room is going to kind of be
like an extension of our kitchen slash become mud room.
So we are going to take this door off right here
and put an arch here.
But first we have to kind of like weatherproof
slash seal this room up.
And then we are planning on painting this brick
slash line washing it to make it like white
or like an off-white color.
And then we'll paint that door.
And then we put all new windows in here.
This room was like a shell of a space.
It kind of still is.
We painted the floor just like for now,
but it has chipped a little bit.
So we're probably gonna put like a tile floor down
and then have some type of bench seating
that we'll probably build for like shoes,
storage, all of that.
Just really excited to see this room transform.
We got rid of the ugly light here.
There was like a bug zapper over here, got rid of that.
Out of this one, this one's from Amazon.
I'm thinking either a black and white checkered tile
or like this color and a lighter color tile,
just like the checkered pattern.
It'll look really nice.
But this is the space for now.
It is just like so messy and gross.
So I never show it.
Hi, buddy.
You're so precious.
You wanna go outside?
Do you have to go outside?
Okay, come on.
Oh, she's through.
And our grass is coming in so nicely.
It definitely needs to be cut,
but we have all of our supplies here for our fence.
And all of this is gonna go away.
And this has nothing to do with like non-toxic,
but I haven't fully shared it on here
just because I've shared a lot of it on TikTok.
So if you're interested in like
seeing the full transformation,
you can check it out there.
But one thing we didn't do was do a YouTube channel.
We started a YouTube channel
just to like kind of repost our shorts and things.
But I'm wondering if we document this space slash the fence
in things that we haven't done yet for our YouTube channel.
It was a really like busy, hectic time
to even think about it in the beginning.
If you're interested in like seeing that
on our other channel
and just like following the journey there.
I know that when we sell this house
and start to flip our second house,
I think our plan is to then move everything
onto YouTube as well and capture the whole journey there
and just like really make it long form
and really take everybody along
and just in depth on the whole process.
But we just didn't do it for this one
because I feel like it was just hectic.
It was our first flip.
We were learning so much.
There was so much going on.
It was just hard to like capture day by day.
I wonder if we'll just start now.
Like we don't have to wait until our next flip.
I can document this.
So I just think this is gonna be a really good space
for filming like videos and stuff.
Just feel like it's gonna be a good space.
Like the arch behind me,
this will be like all white, fun little door.
And then the floor will be the checkered.
I'm excited.
