Amazing Street Food Market at Thong Sala Pantip, Koh Phangan

Good morning guys welcome to another juicy vlog. He's still in bed. George how are you feeling? Anyway good morning guys it's a very hot and gorgeous day here at Tsurisamui and we're off to breakfast and I'm feeling good and I'm feeling good because George is feeling good. I need food I haven't eaten since that dinner that you guys saw the other night. I haven't eaten a thing except for those plain noodles so I'm starving I'm hoping when I eat everything will be fine. This is a lovely day it's sunny it's hot oh we're gonna get back on the vlogs. I've got my vlogging partner back we're here it's no longer a single channel. Thank you so much for all the messages I've got like messages on Instagram yeah from all you guys saying like get well soon all that so that was lovely thanks so much and a lot of people commented on yesterday's video having seen our Instagram saying that you're sick so a load of you follow us on Instagram that are on here as well which is great yeah breakfast time. I'm pretty basic today for my first meal back. You're so funny, I was getting George's scrambled eggs there's a little station there where they cook them fresh for you and they said do you want any of that extras in it a minute ago I need to take it easy just in case and he goes yeah onion and ham please obviously if they give you the option I'm a bit nervous to eat if I'm honest. I've got the weirdest breakfast in the world like I've gone very random so I've got hang on I need to separate my toast because I've got stuff a sweet toast and stuff a savoury toast so just a standard fried egg on toast and bacon some mashed potato and I've also got some of this rice and noodles that noodles look so good it's like the one with the video it looks amazing oh I might have some of that slowly I'm having more and more Thai food for breakfast yeah we saw the comments we saw the comments that we should be eating Thai food breakfast and you're totally right I will try my best after today we've just been... is it following you? oh no get away from my food we've just had been evacuated out from our table because of some bug that has like oh it's trying to get it's trying to get my food we don't know if we don't know if it stings or not we don't know if it's harmful thank you some guy just helped us get rid of it we now present jam time with Lucy Tacostino I like it right because I'm indecisive I didn't want to commit to like a whole jam to go on a whole bit of toast and then I don't like it and I'm stuck so I've got three different things to try today for you and I'm going to have a little bit on each part of the bread we're starting with that's something I've never had passion fruit jam and there's got actual pips and seeds of passion fruit in it so I want to put a little bit on the corner it's got quite an apricot jam texture hello now it's quite bouncy back I like the fact that seeds are in it it feels quite natural wow that's lovely coconut jam it is homemade coconut jam and you know I love coconut it looks a bit like coconut oil it smells like coconut oil but I feel like in this heat coconut oil would have gone like oh yeah true from your face I'm guessing it's not for you it's really nice taste and I love it because I love coconut it tastes amazing but I feel like that would be good on like a cake now I put this final one up it didn't have a label by it I'm not too sure what it is I don't really have much of a smell that's what it looks like it's quite like solid doesn't really look like jam I'm kidding peanut butter is my favorite thing ever so I just have something to put on the end of it is it homemade oh my god it's the nicest peanut butter I've ever had is it that's so good goodbye sorry summary goodbye we've loved you we've loved you and your outdoor baths let's go sad to leave this hotel they've been so good they're actually dropping us down to the pier now which we didn't expect which is really nice and the manager Chris welcomed us back next year if you want to come back they're having like loads of renovations here they're getting a new fitness center a new swimming pool I don't know why they need a new pool it's amazing but it's going to be even better now on the road again as Willie Nelson would say I'm heading off so if you're planning on island hopping at all and you're interested the process for getting ferries is really really simple especially if you can change though especially if you can book it from your hotel but there's it's nice and easy but there's just a lot of steps that you seem to have to go through it seems like there's quite a lot of like waste of time steps like so you buy a ticket and then you get here and then you have to check in they give you another bit of paper then you use that bit of paper to go to the next desk and they exchange it for another bit of paper and then they exchange it for a sticker to put on but we are nice and on time for once which is like strange for us we have about 20 minutes until the ferry I'm off to Copenhagen so Lucy's been navigating us and we seem to have arrived where google maps said and this is where we stopped Lucy I don't think that's right this looks more like it well here we are guys cute little spot on the beach it's our own little what would you call this little chalet type things pretty basic but it's all we need for a couple of nights here wooden flooring little bench a bed it's not actually it's quite good about this space this area we can just chuck the bags oh sorry I'm trying to be trying to show off ready for the bathroom outdoors bathroom I know it's just um it's just a see-through ceiling that'll do a bit bit green in the corner here mirror one of the things I look for most in a hotel room it's a decent mirror I cannot tell you how hot I am carrying them bags it's a 15 minute journey but it takes 20 with them back only another five minutes and I'm not up to my full strength so I was really struggling and I have to take more weight than I normally do so I'm really hot now but the white uh the aircon's on and we've just connected to the wi-fi judging by the look of this place I'm not expecting much no we're going to do a wi-fi speed now if you want to as always at the phone first thing we do when we get to a place and the first thing you say when we get to a place is as always the first thing we get to this thing's all over the place as you know guys it's not the download that we care about it's the purple yeah boy that's good I'm surprised at that sweet we're good we can get vlogs out having been treated like royalty for the past eight nights they're definitely back to basics here it's fine like what was it 13 pounds a night maybe and for us like I was looking at its location in this place it's like so close to the pier where we go for our next ferry and where we came today um it's near the center so there's lots going on so we don't have to pay too much to travel far because it's all here and it's on the beach so although it's basic it's I wouldn't say clean because there's stains that are a bit questionable on the bed but um it's got like it's got air conditioning and wi-fi is that your sweat mark no it's not oh wait I think it actually is oh I was joking oh no no it's not I drank some water a minute ago and it's oh yeah yeah okay I was gonna say I was like this is really bad that is true I can oh I can vouch for that because the bottles here so the plan now guys is to head out we're gonna go and explore Koh Phangan a little bit we need to get some food we need some more here we are oh we need to get some water because I'm about to pass out and and yeah we're gonna go around we're like staying on a little beach place and we've just walked through it's like a seafront in a way isn't it it's like some really really cool shops really cool restaurants the sea's there it's not just like a seafront it is a seafront okay this is hilarious we get a few comments sometimes about like how lucy and I talk to each other and like if you're thinking like either of us are like rude or we talk to each other in a bad way honestly we we are together 24 7 all day every day sorry oh sorry that's a bit of a weird angle um we have been in a relationship for five years it's just like our humor if you think lucy's like being rude or something to me or she's saying horrible things to me it's honestly just her humor and you give it back to me now yeah it honestly like it's so funny when we read comments like you can't talk to the other person like that I know it's like I can't believe how rude you are like thanks for your concern but honestly we're fine honestly this is great we've just left our room just over there straight onto the beach and we can walk right the way to town to find a little restaurant or something right along the sand along the sea there's loads of little um fishing boats I guess just parked up all the way along you found this cool little spot on TripAdvisor so we've parked in here it's um right on the seafront and you can sit on these cool cushions and just completely chill out it's set up for chilling isn't it we've got a water to share I've got a coconut shake I loved mine the other day when we were at the jungle lookout thingy and um and George's got a nice coffee and then we're using fried noodles yep and I've got a pad thai with vegetables yes this looks amazing George what was that yours? wow these look insane I've got brain freeze I drank that way too quickly cheers and here is our food some lovely noodles chicken and some noodles with chicken no oh vegetables nice good very good Lucy's found a little friend to walk along the beach with hey buddy oh a reluctant fetcher rubbish fetch actually he's kind of picking it up slowest fetch in the world so we saw a few of the other different little uh villas I want to call them to keep in the other eight days chalets I had a little hammock out the front of their place um so we just went to ask reception and they gave us one so George is now going to try and put it up looks fairly straightforward but we'll see and if you were watching way back when we moved into our flat I think I should not rip this well you seem to be ripping it you'll remember how good I was at putting up all the Ikea furniture can I please take the noisy plastic away from you now now some hooks into the wood I did these earlier so obviously I forgot to vlog it it's getting in here looks very high up hook it on and that's it and then you oh no quite easily just hop in oh do not fall backwards there I'm not gonna fall should I help I'm gonna give it a little test to make sure it can take your weight it doesn't look like it's gonna and then you just take the shoes off that's another step and just chill you look really happy and comfortable and then you just stay for a few hours all right I want to stay in the aircon all right all right the less glamorous side of traveling is getting a laundry done which has to happen maybe how often do we do it this is the third time and we've been out here a month once a week maybe once a week yeah we'll go and we've just had five and a half kilograms worth for 330 bars so we've paid another 20 bar per kilogram so 60 bar instead of normal 40 so you can get the express one because we've literally run out of clothes because it has been maybe too long this time uh before getting anything washed and we don't want fresh boxes for like a week don't say that that's not true joking gross and that was so for all that laundry two big bags for massive that was seven pounds it's not bad is it and it'll be all like ironed and that'll be done in two and a half hours irons dry fresh that's what we're here to do i'm still really sick from that lunch like i'm so full are you full i still do not i'm not 100 i know i like bounce back but you haven't this morning but so when this vlog goes live i think we'll still have another day or so here if you've got any recommendations or what to do here feel free to send us a message or comment below because we always like hearing what you guys get up to if you've ever been to anywhere like this because honestly is this where we've gone before it's one between loads of trees we're not really meant to go through this way though are we yeah because we're not too sure what to expect from here or what we actually want to do i'm now attempting to fix as i said in the previous vlog the screen for our g7x i don't know how this is going to go i've just we bought this little glue from the shop in the last hotel so i need to basically this one has a screw and this one doesn't so i need to like use this glue as a screw to kind of oh my god are you nervous is it going to go in the camera and just hold it down for a bit i guess do you want to put some glue in that little hole no because what if that goes into something just super glue from work or metal i wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't right we'll give you an update shortly how confident out of 10 two so come out to song is it song palace am i saying that right that's what we're saying and it's the night market about 10 minute walk and when you look up what to do here it's like in every single top 10 of what you must do i was expecting either like somewhere between the night bazaar in chiang mai and chatuchak weekend market in bangkok somewhere in the middle or maybe maybe not even as big as that but something it's very small it's kind of flat bang in the middle of loads of concrete there's probably how many food oh there's a lot of food there crammed in how many 25 oh no i'd say close to 40 before we count more yeah fine it goes all the way in there and all over and then it's small but it's crammed in we've kind of like spent the last five minutes looking around and we kind of like closed and everything the problem is we're not that hungry and we've come to what we saw written online is that they have some of the best street food here yes um so obviously we're going to get a few bits but we might just get something savory each and then a dessert i mean the good thing about this is if you don't want to be crawling around for like hours through my chiang mai that massive one we went to yeah and then this is perfect because you can walk around this in like two or three minutes and it's like everything you want to hear like the classic like kebab stuff and like pad thai all our top top Thai food it does feel quite touristy yes it does um far more touristy than the other night markets we've been to everyone here looks kind of british to be honest or european yes but that's kind of because of where we are like we're on one of the most popular islands and this is probably like you said a more practical market so if you want some dinner and you want to come down and get some food personally if you want a whole evening it might not be the market for you but i'm sure there's plenty more here anyway we'll show you around a little bit show you what we pick up i'm definitely feeling sorry there's a 7-eleven in the distance as always um definitely a pancake yes to prove that it's touristy there's actually a place over there that does fish and chips oh yeah let's show you which we're not going to be getting but it's kind of like in a street food style they're like soggy chips with a bit of battered fish this is the most roasty choices i've ever seen there's so many all the way down here sweet and savory those are coconut ones that sound good but i'm eyeing up the almond and nutella one i'm thinking banana nutella your classic banana nutella 50 bar good choice one almond nutella and one banana nutella please banana and nutella please banana inside it it's a really busy store so hopefully that indicates it's going to be good i hope you can hear george over this noisy music i've gone for nutella and almonds i haven't had that topping before and i love nutella and i love a nut so the offland tomorrow are supposedly meant to be higher escutcheon and explore the island and we've got a fun-filled packed day planned every single person both locals and tourists we've seen so many moments right not one has that may sound drastic and people if you're watching that go on scooters that helmet do what you want it's illegal in the uk not to but for the sake of not looking cool wearing a helmet i'd rather that than if i came off and smacked my head on the pavement and i died because i didn't wear a helmet it's just weird like literally no one like normally like in other places have been it's been a lot of the tourists wear them and the locals don't that's quite but here everyone like is helmet free i don't get it but i'm so glad george is featured in this today's vlog a bit more than yesterday's and george how are you feeling out of ten i'm all right um is one good yeah yeah i'm like one i still realize zero is amazing like zero is normal and neutral yeah i'm not 100 i don't feel like fully like i'm scrapped but i'm fine one's okay we'll take one um i'm working thanks for watching today guys as always we
