2 Hidden Reasons Your Healing Hasn’t Manifested (And How to Fix Them).

So many people have written us recently and they've been expressing frustration because they believe they're using their faith for healing and yet their symptoms continue to persist. Now I realize that's a frustrating place to be and so the Lord's put it in my heart that beginning today I'm going to start a video series where I begin going over some of the possible areas that could be keeping us from receiving our healing. Now this is by no means meant to be exhaustive and it may not cover every single area because I'm sure the sky could be the limit you know depending on what different people are going through in life. But thank God we have the Holy Spirit. He's our helper. We have the Word of God and the Spirit of God wants to lead us into all truth. And so I believe as you watch today's video and upcoming messages that you're going to find some answers for your life. Now I want to begin today by laying some groundwork and I'm going to give you a few foundational scriptures. And the first one is Galatians chapter 3 and verse 13 and it says Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law having become a curse for us for it is written cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Now it is so good to know that Christians are redeemed from the curse of the law. However, not everybody really knows what the curse of the law is. And so we have to go to Deuteronomy chapter 28 to find out what that curse is. Now I'm not going to read that today but I am going to point you to it. Deuteronomy 28 lists all the curses that would come upon those who failed to obey God's law that failed to keep the Word of God. Now remember this is Old Covenant but it gives us an idea of what that curse includes so that when we come over into Galatians in the New Testament we see what we've been redeemed from. Now I want to state this emphatically that God's will is that we always live under the blessing. It's not his plan for anybody to live under the curse. And so he was so good to us to warn us about this and to give us an idea of what the blessing is and what the curse is. Now we see this from Deuteronomy 28 if you go through all of those verses and you just capsulize it into three categories that the curse of the law includes spiritual death which is simply separation from God. It includes sickness and disease and it includes poverty and lack. So these are the three major areas that Christ has redeemed us from and thank God we are redeemed legally. We are completely redeemed if we belong to Jesus Christ. So we could say this those that belong to Jesus never again have to be separated from eternal life. We never again have to be separated from health and healing and we never again have to be separated from provision and supply from the hand of God. Now on the other hand unbelievers have no protection from the curse of the law because they're not in covenant with a good God. Whether they know it or not they're in covenant with Satan who has been their lord all along. And so because they're under his lordship they're in rebellion to the ways of God and the word of God and things don't regularly turn out well for them. So that leads us to this point if Christians are redeemed from the curse of the law why then are so many suffering from sickness disease and pain? Now I have preached along these lines in the past but we're going to carry this out in a little bit different way today and I want to state this that Christians suffer from sickness and disease for a completely different reason than unbelievers do. You know we're not suffering from it because we're under a curse and I know many preachers over the years have taught that there are still generational curses that attach themselves to believers. Now it might appear that way but the reason that Christians are suffering these things is because their believing is wrong. But let's look at one scripture in particular Ephesians chapter 4 and verse 27 says neither give place to the devil. So this is telling us in the New Testament that the devil no longer has a place in us if we're born again Christians and he cannot take a place in us just because he wants to. However if you're a Christian you can certainly give a place to the devil. You know God even though he's blessed us and he's created us as new creatures in Christ he still has not taken our will from us and so we all have a free will and we can all willingly give place to the devil. Now sometimes we fully know where we've given him place and when we do it would be wise to quickly repent and get it right. But there are many times where we're unaware of where we've opened a door therefore that's the reason for this particular series. We want to be enlightened as to some possibilities where we've opened up doors to the devil. You know in Hosea chapter 4 and verse 6 it says my people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge and so what we don't know is actually what can be hurting us in life and I pray that you would not only continue watching today's message but that you would continue to tune in in the upcoming episodes and see for yourself if some of these things that I'm bringing up might be an area in your life that you need to address. You know in order to get the devil out of our lives and get the door closed to him we need the wisdom of God for our lives and just because you're facing a trial let me state this because this is an important point just because you're facing a trial in your life just because you're under attack by the devil does not necessarily mean that you've opened a door to him. Now this is where we have to walk closely with God to know the difference. You know in everyday life just being in the will of God and serving God the devil will try to stop us and hinder us through attacks but nonetheless if he attacks us for that reason or if we've opened a door we can get it stopped because we've been given authority over all the power and authority of the devil. Now we can seek the Lord and that's you know seeking him when you're listening to these messages this is a form of seeking him and you can seek him privately in your prayer time and as you're studying the word of God and the Holy Spirit wants to reveal to you what avenue maybe perhaps you've opened the door to the devil and he wants to help you get it closed and he wants you to receive your healing. So I just want you to know today is good news for you this is help it's not just talking about negative things but it's giving you ideas of where the door might be open so you can shut that door. Now let's look at one more foundational scripture in first Corinthians 11 30 it says for this reason many are weak and sick among you and many sleep. You know there's a reason why Christians become weak there's a reason why Christians become sick and there is a reason why Christians die prematurely and Paul is giving us one of those reasons in first Corinthians 11 which we'll address in upcoming episodes but I want you to see that according to the scriptures there are reasons and so our job as believers is to find out what those reasons are and get it dealt with. Now we're going to look at a few of them today hopefully if we have time we'll get through more than one but the number one thing that I want to look at today as a possible cause for not receiving healing is refusing to walk in love. Now I think this is one of the biggest areas because it's the area that we're the most challenged in on a daily basis. You know Jesus immediately after teaching one of the greatest faith messages ever in Mark chapter 11 he also taught us that we need to forgive and there is a major correlation between forgiveness and healing. Now in Mark chapter 11 we're not going to read all of the verses that talk about faith but in verse 24 it says therefore I say to you whatever things you ask when you pray believe that you receive them and you will have them and everybody loves to read that particular scripture because it's teaching us how to receive from God but then we have to go on to verse 25 where Jesus says whenever you stand praying so this hinges on your prayer life being successful whenever you stand praying if you have anything against anyone and I always add for any reason forgive him that your father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses but if you do not forgive neither will your father in heaven forgive your trespasses. So what we're seeing here is that we have to forgive if we want to receive our prayers answered or if our faith is going to operate and function as it should. You know you could actually be releasing faith for healing but it'll clog the avenue or the pipeline so to speak if you refuse to forgive and sometimes we can get ugly with people when they've hurt us and God's not expecting that to continue in our lives if we want his highest and best. You know we have to remember that all of us have sinned against God and fallen short of the glory of God but we tend to rate sins you know sometimes we say this is a great sin and that's a minor sin but sin is sin. Sin is wrong and refusing to forgive is so wrong and what happens when you refuse to forgive somebody else I heard a preacher put it this way one time it's like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. So you think that you're actually by holding something against somebody for what they did to you you think you're actually punishing them by giving them the silent treatment or by avoiding them or by refusing to forgive them but what you're really doing is you're damaging your own life and God knows this and that's why Jesus taught us forgive and so we have to make it a point to meditate upon first Corinthians chapter 13 which describes what love is and you know let me just say this because the whole world thinks that love is a feeling you know you've got songs like I'm hooked on a feeling well listen the love of God is not a feeling it's not motivated by how you feel so you could actually feel hurt by something somebody did to you but you don't have to be moved by that feeling you can still make a decision to forgive them because the love of God in first Corinthians 13 is all action love is patient love is kind so I would encourage you if there's anybody in your life that you've been holding something against or that you've been refusing to forgive choose to forgive them today if you want to receive your healing you know another thing about love is sometimes it's not even just a matter of forgiving but it's a matter of not being rude to people it's a matter of not being selfish with people and if you read first Corinthians 13 you get a beautiful description of how the love of God behaves and I'll tell you what this would be the first area I would examine if I was failing to receive my healing and chances are you can get that door closed very quickly just with this first area now we're going to go on to one more area today that could possibly be keeping us from receiving healing and that is the loss of peace you know worry and fear will cause you to lose the peace that already lives in your heart if you're a born-again believer and you know fear is the opposite of faith worry and fear you could say this worry panic dread these are all forms of fear and some people are diseased and sick and they've gotten a terminal diagnosis from a doctor and fear has taken over well you could quote healing scriptures you could read your bible you could pray but as long as you don't deal with that fear the fear will clog the pipeline again fear keeps faith from operating like it should and so we have to deal with fear you know without faith it's impossible to please God the bible says in Hebrews 11 and so because faith is needed to please him we can't allow fear to be there and think that faith is going to work so how do we deal with this well first of all let's look at some scriptures you know there's a penalty for worrying it's it's going to break down your mental health and then that mental health being broken down will eventually eventually lead to breaking down the body but the bible tells us in first Timothy that God has not given us the spirit of fear but that he's given us a spirit of power and of love and of a sound mind so we have dunamis power we have the love of God which love casts out fear and we have a sound disciplined mind and so we have to remind ourselves fear is it doesn't belong to me it doesn't belong to the believer it's a spirit from satan and he'll bring feelings with that fear to make you convinced that you are fearful and troubled but you need to stand against it so what i'm saying is the loss of peace or fear is an open door to the devil that hinders us from receiving our healing you know in my book untroubled i address this very issue and i would encourage you the information should be in the comment section if you click the link you can access that book because there's so much more involved in just a few minutes that i have here to share with you but we have to learn how to discipline our thought life we have to learn how to keep out negative fearful thoughts from our lives and we need to focus on what god says about our situation and not what our doctor is saying and not what our body is saying you know here's an interesting statistic for you the national institute of mental health which is an institution in the united states they have charted that over 60 million adults in the u.s are struggling with some kind of a mental illness or disorder and so it's no wonder that in our day we have rampant sickness and disease because as the mind goes so goes the body and so i would encourage you if you're struggling with fears phobias anxiety depression you need to get that dealt with so that your healing can manifest in your life you know if you're worried about your body and your symptoms and you're worried about your outcome in life you know what's going to happen am i going to die prematurely uh am i going to have to go through torturous procedures to get well then you're not in a position to receive healing we have to position ourselves spiritually and mentally where we're open to receive the goodness of god so you've got to deal with this thing called fear the first thing you need to do is say fear i refuse to have you and i resist you in jesus name and then it has to go and we see this the woman with the issue of blood in mark chapter five when she was healed the lord jesus said to her go into peace and be continually healed and freed from your distressing bodily disease so even if you receive healing if you don't keep fear out you will have difficulty keeping and maintaining your healing so i wanted to encourage you today god has good things for you you don't have to keep doors to the devil open you can choose to walk in love and you can choose to resist fear and see if one of those areas might be an area that if you deal with it now the healing power of god will begin to flow in your body i want to pray with you in the name of jesus i pray for those watching i thank you father for revealing to them areas that they need to hear about so that they can deal with them and receive the healing power of god and lord as they're finding out what possibly may be keeping them from receiving healing i thank you lord god not only for wisdom but for that healing anointing flowing from the top of their heads to the soles of their feet and we give
