I'm going to miss you like mad. I'm worried, but you're going to have a great time.
Very sad, but very excited for you. Yeah, very happy for you. It's a real opportunity.
Bye-bye!
Guys, we're getting some spray on today because we're off...
What are you talking about?
What?
Like, weird way to start a vlog.
I'm a vlogger, I'm explaining what I'm doing with my day.
You're getting some spray on today?
Yes.
Right.
Off to a family barbecue in a minute.
What else do I need?
I'm not going to bother doing my hair.
My hair...
Right, I just did an Instagram poll and my hair is long as...
So, I'm thinking about getting it cut.
But what do you guys think?
Leave a comment below.
So I keep growing it, I'll cut it.
Let me know.
Lucy, this morning, has been in the most annoying mood.
Well, for my...
This is going to be a really unflattering angle, isn't it?
That's right.
It's coming right above you.
That's cool.
Is it?
Yeah, sweet.
No.
What do you mean annoying mood?
What do you mean?
You've been like...
Okay, right, so we did this thing.
She wanted to do this thing where she like,
high-fived my hand with her foot.
This is like...
This is top quality content this morning.
She wanted to high-five my hand with her foot.
Three, two, one.
That's what I mean.
You didn't do it back.
If you'd done it back, that would have been like a...
But you...
No.
It doesn't kick you.
She just...
She doesn't realise that feet and legs have much more power than a hand.
No, no, no.
I'm sorry.
Shut up.
Go on then.
You can't do it like that.
This is my bad hand.
Okay, three, two, one.
That's it.
Guys, welcome to the vlog.
So behind me here is our living room,
or what was our living room.
Our announcement...
The Mac exporting the podcast.
It's loud.
Our announcement went live a couple of days ago for you,
yesterday for us.
No, sorry, today for us.
And we are like super, super excited.
So a load of you were asking us in messages and stuff,
have you guys quit work?
Like a load of you guys knew already.
People like...
It freaked me out because like people were like,
why aren't you working?
Why are you not like driving your car?
Why are you getting the train everywhere?
And what was the other one?
There was a third.
Because Lucy obviously worked for BMW,
so our cars over the last couple of years have been like work cars for Lucy.
I've never really owned one.
I parked my mum's and I crashed it.
A load of you got...
Oh yeah, that was ----, wasn't it?
A load of you guys guessed that we had left,
we had finished work,
but you'd think we might be like chilling now and loving life.
That was freaking me out.
Wasn't it freaking us out?
Like that people were like,
you've left your job and we're like,
how do you know?
Yeah, the reality is that we've actually been working
harder than we ever bloody have,
in a good way though,
on everything that we love doing.
But it does mean...
Let me zoom out here.
It does mean that this flat is like screwed up.
It's basically messed up because we've got boxes,
we're packing stuff away.
Although we're leaving in like a week and we've literally done like nothing.
Like we have so much to do
and every day we write this list that we'll do that,
we'll do that
and then the other day we're like,
oh, we've done one thing.
Yeah.
Because we get busy like doing other stuff of this,
we've actually got stuff to do before we leave packing wise.
Yeah, we've got all stuff in like boxes here
that we need to put in our parents' houses and stuff.
So today we are basically going to a family barbecue
to say bye to all our family,
which is kind of weird, kind of sad,
but it is party like for us,
we're getting like free barbecue,
so it's pretty sweet.
Are you wearing Vans?
Yeah, I'm wearing Vans.
Oh, what? I want to wear Vans.
No, I'm wearing Vans.
But I really want to, you wear more Vans.
Okay, I'll wear socks and sliders then.
Yeah, that's fine.
Is that what you want me to do?
Yeah, better than that so I can see when I'm out.
Actually, yeah, okay, I'll rock this one, okay?
That goes.
You're hard, showing off.
The title for today's video is like,
obviously like saying bye to our family.
So we're going to like,
we obviously we've like spoke about it loads with them
because like they know we're going
because I think it'd be a bit harsh
if they found out like in the announcement video
we're leaving the country in a week.
But we're going to like have a chat with them today,
aren't we?
And like see what they actually think of it.
And obviously show you guys what they say.
And then also we can like talk about it later,
like how we're feeling about it all.
Because it's obviously like quite different
to our lives at the moment.
It's a huge, huge change.
So I've got the biggest blisters
and these are really tight.
Oh, grim, grim, grim.
It's not grim, is it?
It's not like I can help it.
My sister, Emily and Mike,
they had a housewarming party last night.
So we do, we're popular people.
Yeah, mainly like family stuff.
So we had a bit of a later start today.
Our list, I was saying like how busy we've been
since we finished work.
Our lists have just been crazy every day.
But we've been having to do loads of stuff.
Like obviously we've been wanting to make videos and things.
But we had summer in the city, obviously.
But we've also had to like set up,
do stuff with the banks to set up
like some of our business stuff.
It's weird though, like it's trying to find a line
like for all the stuff.
So it's obviously seeing family and friends.
And then there's like actual like YouTube stuff
and the website and business.
And then there's physical flat stuff.
There's a lot to do, basically.
Three prongs to my fork.
Oh, you got a three pronged fork.
Also, how the hell does anyone get these necklaces on?
I can't do this.
Yes.
The fact that your thumb was over the hole.
Yeah, that doesn't help.
What music is that I hear?
Something to try and make you feel at home.
So we're off to this barbecue now,
but the rain has literally just started.
And it's pretty much forecast
for the rest of the afternoon.
So very quick stop at Tesco.
We need to get some pudding
because everyone has agreed
to bring some stuff to the barbecue.
I was on pudding duty,
but apparently what I picked up the other day wasn't enough.
You know those tiny little things
with like a flap jacket?
You've got two of them.
They're two or three pounds.
All right, one of each.
Well, yeah, that's not enough for me.
This is why I'm with you.
Oh, is there chocolate as well?
Should we get three?
Yeah.
It's only two pounds each.
Love it.
Oh, right.
I see.
Oh, right.
OK, I see.
The last four times I've been shopping,
Lucy's Apple Pay has stopped working
and I've had to pay for everything.
I think I'll be OK.
Thank you for your sympathy.
Oh, park at the end there, look.
I just tried to press record,
but I didn't get in time.
My mum was having a go at my dad
because he doesn't listen.
And then Lucy picked up.
Your mum was in good reason
to be having a go at your dad.
Apparently I'm exactly the same.
I never listen to Lucy.
Apparently.
I would never admit to her, ever.
What's better than going to someone's house
and pictures of you being right over the walls?
Nothing.
One, two, three.
Oh, that's nice.
Good luck on our journey around here.
That was the Cosmopolitan Impulse Rewards.
That was on the cruise.
That was on another cruise.
That was...
When was that?
Was that New Year's or flat?
That could have been.
That is an old photo.
It's not that old.
I think it's probably two years old this December,
like a year and a bit old.
Yeah.
This is our old logo.
Get up to date, mum.
That's our new logo.
It's a bit rainy, isn't it?
Shall we go play some football?
Yeah.
Go on then.
This is Theo's football club.
She's the manager and captain.
Just checking the goals are all okay.
So Kelly kind of made the decision that we were going to cook the food inside.
Then I was like, no, I want outdoor barbecue food because I'm like that.
And I thought it would taste much nicer,
but now it's actually really starting to rain.
So I feel a bit bad, but it will taste nicer, I guess.
So throughout today's vlog,
we want to find out what our family actually think about us going away.
So we're going to ask them a couple of questions and stuff
because obviously going away for a whole year,
which is what we're planning on doing.
Potentially, we're not sure.
Maybe longer, maybe shorter.
We don't know.
It's a big thing.
For Lucy's parents, it's like their daughter who's 21, just going away.
And for George's parents, it's like their son who's like 25,
going away for a whole year.
I don't think they're as like...
Well, no, they care.
But I think it's different because you're the older one, aren't you?
Yeah.
Oh, we've been rolling around on grass and stuff.
I'm so out of breath, it's ridiculous.
I guess we should quickly talk about what it was actually like when we did tell them
because we weren't really nervous.
We've been planning it for a while.
I feel like it wasn't like a sit down, like, this is what we're doing.
It was more like, this is our plan, we would like to do it.
Like at some point, we're going to start saving, kind of see what happens.
So it was like a quite slow thing.
Yeah, it's been an ongoing thing.
It wasn't until we'd actually booked the flights
when they were like, blimey, it's actually happening.
That was kind of the big deal.
I'm actually falling over here.
I've got you.
All right, you got me, yeah?
I've got you.
Genuinely so nice that we can now talk about it.
No, I don't have you.
But it's like a week.
It doesn't feel real still.
At all.
If you're someone who's thinking of going traveling,
or taking a gap year, or you're nervous about telling family,
or you think you're going to miss family and stuff,
then hopefully you can watch our videos.
Because we'll be talking about how we feel like the whole step,
like every step of the way.
Like these days with like Skype and FaceTime.
I feel like we'll speak to them more than when we actually do.
Yeah, we probably will.
You're so hot and sweaty.
That's a really loud update.
The rain's still here, but it's slightly lessened.
The barbecue's almost done.
What are you doing?
Is that all right?
What are you doing?
Excuse me.
What are you doing?
Food is ready.
Kelly has managed to cook a barbecue in the rain.
Very, very impressed.
Lucy, obviously first in.
No like care really for guests.
I'm a guest.
I guess.
This is all about me today.
Yo.
Wow, I've had it really good.
Cheese.
Yummy.
No.
Through the legs.
Right.
What are you doing?
I need to put the camera down so I can eat.
We have a cake made for us with these pictures on.
It says, have fun and stay safe.
How cute.
Yum.
Yummy.
I feel really good.
This cake is like.
About the whole thing.
Not about the cake, for God's sake.
What are you asking me?
Like everyone put your cake.
How do you feel?
Are you like?
Very, very kind.
Kind, emotional.
I like the Thea imprint, especially.
Oh yeah, this is from Thea's thumbprint.
They're sort of right in there.
Thanks, Thea.
Go in the camera.
We're talking to the camera.
Can you see yourself?
No.
Can you go, hello?
No.
I'm too shy.
You're what?
You're shy.
Very sad.
But very happy for you.
It's a massive adventure for you, Lucy and George, and you're going to love it.
My take on it is, I want you to take me with you.
Ah, man.
Yeah, I want to go.
I'm going to miss you like mad.
I'm worried.
But you're going to have a great time.
Very sad.
You guys are both sad.
But very excited for you.
Yeah, very happy for you.
It's a real opportunity.
And very brave.
Yeah, that's all I was going to say.
Yeah, I think it's a really, really brave thing you guys are doing.
So I just really hope it goes really well for you.
But remember, no tunnels and caves.
No waterfalls.
And don't carry dodgy packets.
Dodgy packets!
What do you mean dodgy packets?
He might like to come.
Well, I mean, you're going on my birthday, so that hurts.
But I hope you have a good time.
I'm jealous, but glad you're going to feel the joy now.
So enjoy, and have lots of fun.
And stay hydrated.
Stay hydrated.
Yeah, yes.
No, really, because you'll get ill.
Do you think they'll have lots of fun?
Yeah.
What do you think they're going to see on their holiday?
Um, horses.
Do you think they'll see horses?
What else do you think they might see?
No.
Do you think they're going to ride some bikes?
Yeah.
How about dinosaurs?
You'll see some dinosaurs?
Yeah.
And what noise do dinosaurs make?
Roar!
Bye-bye.
See you soon.
