Welcome back to Eating the Afkano, my name is Nicholas. We are back at this place, Mulungu Fish Fry.
So this gentleman is going to take us through, because last time we missed like three different foods which they do from this place. Please take over.
Hello everyone, my name is Damria Eddie. A profession in cooking Kabelo, deep fried and a grilled one.
So last time we took over a boiled one, a so called Kabelo, a boiled one but we left out three foods which also occur here in Mulungu Fish Fry.
A deep fried one, a grilled one and a Kabelo which is deep fried. So today we are going to look at all of those three foods that we missed out.
There are supposed to be four because two are the same, just what makes them different that one is boiled and another is deep fried.
But we are going to look at a fish which is deep fried, another one is a grilled one and then again Kabelo which is deep fried.
So let us go into the video and again we have some things we are going to put right.
Last time we used a profane bag to cook the bitter berries and then some of you commented that that is so bad.
So in this video we are going to make everything right. So keep watching until the end and please share your thoughts in the comment section.
Let us know what you think. By the way, this place is open for everyone. You can come here, get in touch.
I will also drop his number in my description box. Get in touch with him and see how you can come to this place and enjoy this.
Let us get to the video.
So we have to go step by step. We have to buy again. How many fish are we going to buy?
Like three.
Let us go through the prices and also the sizes because sometimes everything is determined by the price.
But also there is always that thing for bargaining. So we are going to bargain.
I don't know if we are going to survive this but we are going to have plenty of food on that table.
So we have the sizes. These sizes are for 20,000.
20,000.
So these ones are for 25,000.
25,000.
Hope you are watching and listening carefully. He is mentioning the prices in Guarani shillings but we always put that in dollars.
And also if you are from a different country and use a different currency, you can just get the one you always post on the screen and convert it to your currency, your shillings or any currency you use.
So we have this one for 30,000.
I think we can have this.
For what?
For the grilled one.
Yeah, we have this. Then for Kabel, I think we can get a smaller size.
Like this one?
And also the deep fried one.
Which one?
This one.
Yeah. I think let us go where they clean them from and then after we are going to take you through step by step.
So don't go anywhere. Keep watching until the end.
Here is the place where we clean our fish from.
This gentleman in a blue overcoat.
We are the ones responsible for cleaning our fish.
So this bigger one, it is the grilled one.
We are going to make a grilled one.
So this smaller one, deep fried Kabel.
So this one, which is cleaning it, is for the deep fried one with chips.
So take your time. You will see how fish is done.
Places like this have names like Abatwa.
Which name can we give to this place?
I know a Ugandan word.
A Ugandan word? What is that?
It is a Kolokotero.
By the way, if you can find an English name for this place, you can tell us in the comment section.
Because we are here to learn from each other.
So drop that in the comment section.
I also want to learn that I don't know which English name I can give to this place.
But if you know it, help us out.
So these are the English names of the rest of the fish.
Reiko chicken.
If at all you can't get this, you can get any other Reiko.
So, 4 Reiko cubes.
2 pieces.
So, these are the ingredients for this fish.
So I am going to cut it.
Then I have to put lemon.
I have to put salt.
Then I add this.
Here we do so so many things like deep fried, boat riding.
So even you have boat racing, you can come and have a fun.
They take you to Kawakazi.
Kawakazi beach.
They take you to Dungu resort.
They can take you everywhere you feel like.
So even you can see a miniboat if you want to see how a miniboat looks like.
So we have so many things happen here.
We have like concerts.
We have DJing, mixing.
You can come on Sunday.
We have so so many DJs.
DJ battles.
You can come and see how DJs scratch in here in Molugu fish fry.
So, our beloved customers along the world in Uganda, outside Uganda.
So we call you if you want fish.
Any kind of fish.
A fresh one.
A deep fried.
A grilled one.
Kabero.
You can come here and have it.
In Molugu fish fry.
We don't want you to get stressed that you want fish.
You are at home.
You don't want to come to Molugu.
We deliver.
You call.
I want fish.
Then we deliver when you are at your home.
You can have birthdays when you are at home.
We deliver and you'll be happy.
So we are here to serve you, our beloved customers, from Monday to Sunday.
7 to 24 hours.
You can host parties.
Birthday parties.
Maybe showers.
Meeting.
If you want a meeting, you can come here and have your meeting.
It's free.
Molugu, we don't even charge any single shilling to come.
You can come even if you want just to see the water.
You can come and see it.
See the water breezes.
And then you go back to your home.
It's open.
You don't charge any single shilling.
You come, enter.
You sit.
You can order.
And drink.
Fish.
Any sort of something you want.
So here is where we are going to put this fish.
This roasted fish.
We put it on fire.
So I have to put some cooking oil on this thing around.
Then we have to put a little bit on the fish
so that it doesn't stick on the water.
The next step, I'm taking this fish to the fire.
And the reason as to why I put those stones
is to absorb a little heat.
Not too much heat.
So that it gets very hot.
It's going to take like 25 minutes to be changed.
So that even this layer, we have to change it to get ready.
So we have to wait within 25 minutes to change it.
Thank you so much for keeping yourself on eating the African oil.
I know we are moving step by step.
You can pass. You can pass. It's okay.
We are moving step by step.
Last time, one of the comments I got from the comment section
that why do you use a polythene to cook our food?
So in this video, we're making everything right.
That's why you have seen this lady putting the bitter berries,
wrapping the bitter berries in the banana leaf.
But I'm wrapping mine in my tea.
I don't know why.
But don't go anywhere. Keep watching.
Don't go anywhere. Keep watching until the end.
The difference between the boiled kabel and the fried kabel.
So this one, we are going to fry it a little bit in the cooking oil.
So the other one, the boiled one, we put it in when it is fresh.
As we cook the matok, the Irish, the boiled one,
we just put it in when it's fresh like this.
But the difference between this one, we have to fry it a little bit
so that we put it in the matok.
So I have to first remove the bitter berries.
So the next step, I'm going to put the fish inside.
Then I have to put back our bitter berries.
Then I'm going to cover it up.
The next step, I'm going to put some little cooking oil on the top.
I told you at first we are going to wait for 25 minutes.
Now I'm going to change the fish so that even this part, it gets ready.
So I have to put this, then I change it like this.
So you see this part is already ready now.
So we have also this part, this part to get ready.
So I have to use this knife to separate the fish meat from the metal.
This is our next part.
So I'm going to carry our fish back to the metal.
Just like that.
The next step, I'm taking it back on fire.
So we are going to wait for 25 minutes again so our fish will be ready.
Basically, the ingredients for our kabe, we have to put tomatoes,
there is green pepper, there is carrot, even the onions.
So even we are going to put just two of the Reko cubes to make your dish very delicious.
So the difference between the boiled kabe and the fried one,
so this one we are going to put a little bit of the cooking oil.
So we fry the ingredients a little bit so that we can put in our kabe.
I'm going to fry on our ingredients first, then I add them to our kabe.
So let me put a little bit of the water.
Everything is being done at the same place.
Fish is being grilled, we are making kabe and also we are going to do the deep fried one.
But also what I wanted to ask him, if someone doesn't eat fish,
which other options this place can offer to that person?
So we have two options.
We have a restaurant.
They have local food.
Local food, Ugandan local food.
If you don't eat fish, you can come and eat that local food.
Also we have roasted chicken.
Roasted chicken in this place also.
So our beloved customers, if you don't eat fish,
you can also come and eat roasted chicken.
Also we have a restaurant in this place.
We don't go fish fry.
So if you don't eat fish, we also have other options.
Just come to this place, there is a lot they can offer to you.
Come with your family, come with a friend.
Even if you are alone, this is the right place for you.
So let us get to the end.
Because the end is always my favorite part where I have to sit and enjoy the food.
So keep watching till the end and thank you so much for being part of this.
You can leave a comment.
Tell us what you think about this place.
Tell us what you want to see next from another place or from again the same place.
But I think we have covered everything from this place.
Let us think about where else we can go.
Thank you so much.
Don't go anywhere.
Sit until the end of this video.
The next step, I am going to first remove our bitter berries.
Just like this.
The next step, I am going to put our ingredients.
This is how they look.
So,
I have them.
This is our last ingredient.
I am going to put Rieko chicken to our kabel.
So we are going to wait like within three minutes after putting this Rieko.
So that our kabel is just ready.
So I have to put it inside here.
I put a little bit of water.
So as I am doing, I am just stirring it up.
So we are going to put this ghee also in our kabel.
This is the last step.
I have to untie our bitter berries.
So we are going to add them in our kabel.
If at all you don't want to put them, you can put them like this, the way they are.
I am going to put some salt.
So the next step, I am going to put our ingredients.
I will put garlic.
There is corn meal.
There is Rieko cubes.
Plus Rieko chicken.
So this is the last part of the preparation and the next one is going to be eating.
So, this is going to be deep fried.
I want to give you the full experience you can get from this place.
I think today we are not going to do the pot rice because you have seen that.
In case you missed a video, I dropped that video in the description box of this video.
You can check it out and see what you missed.
But we are getting to the last part where everything gets into our stomachs.
But one thing I like about this people, they are trying to be clean.
They are trying to be so organized.
You can see from the video why everything I have been recording.
Behind the camera is my little brother, Jovan.
Sometimes we have Joel, today we have Jovan.
Maybe we will see him at the end of the video.
Let's go.
Thank you so much for keeping yourself on eating the African way.
Thank you so much for watching until now.
We are about to go to the end.
Don't go anywhere.
Please be patient because I am always patient until the end where my favorite part comes in.
So, the fish has been deep fried.
And after, we are going to add on the accompaniments.
The what?
Tomatoes.
Sliced tomatoes.
Sliced onions.
Ringed onions.
And then the fries which we call chips.
So, let us go to the end.
I think everything is now getting ready.
Let us go back to what is happening on the other side.
So, let's go.
So, now our fish is ready.
The grilled one is ready.
So, I am going to put the lemon.
So, I am going to add the tomatoes.
I am going to put them just like this.
So, I am going to add our onions.
So, you know why I have to put this green pepper when it is just fresh like this.
So, our last step, we are going to put this cassava on our fish.
Yeah, so our grilled fish is ready for eating now.
Just like this.
So, then I remove the middle part.
So, I have to put the food in between the fish.
Here, just in between.
You can tell us how this has been from the start until this, where we are right now.
But thank you so much for being part of eating the Afghan way.
I think let us dive into this.
We are not going to do the boat riding.
It is threatening to rain.
I know you do not want to drown.
This is what they call HTD Vita.
It is a mixture of millet flour and then milk.
This is the way they make it.
But I just wanted to share, to also introduce something new I have seen on this channel.
Maybe I will do a full video showing how this is made, HTD Vita, in my language.
I do not know the English name.
I do not think it has an English name.
Maybe that is why you call it a smoothie.
But let us just dive into this.
In the recent video, this was not fried.
It was boiled.
But just look at what we have here.
The lady told us if you eat the fried one, you might not want to go back to the boiled one.
But let us dive into this and see how this comes out.
But I know you have seen, now you know all the prices.
So, let us just enjoy this.
I hope you can see what is here.
Even I do not want to mess up the footage.
I just want to look at it.
Let us dive in.
Let us eat.
I think the lady was right.
If you eat this, you might not go back to the boiled one.
But, however much this is more delicious, more better than the natural one.
The boiled one is still the best for me.
And also, I think some of the comments we get from the recent video,
you have made everything right in this one.
In case we did something wrong, you can also tell us.
You can come back and put everything to right.
But I think this is a good place where you can get a...
Right now, you know the contact person, Eddie Mulungu.
Just call him Eddie Mulungu.
His number is going to be in the description box of this video.
Reach out to him.
Tell him when you are coming.
You can even call him before you reach this place so that they can prepare for you.
You find things when they are ready.
Or you want to go through the same process.
You see how these are prepared.
You can also talk to him.
He does magic. He does miracles in this place.
And also, I think what is missing on this plate,
I never wanted to mention it.
But what is missing is avocado.
But I know next time, avocado will be part of the meal.
In case you are coming to this place,
avocado will be introduced.
I think that is the only thing which is missing.
Avocado, there is a way it changes the taste of...
It gives that extra taste to the food.
So this is...
It is invisibly divided in two pieces.
One in two parts.
One part is mine.
And the other part is going to be for my brother.
He is behind the camera.
But I love the naturalness in these foods.
You can taste all the...
Everything in this.
You eat the bitter berries.
You mix it with the fish.
The taste is...
You cannot even find a word to describe it.
It is so natural.
It is so Ugandan.
It is so African.
Oh my goodness. Those in the diaspora.
These are some of the things you are missing.
And this is a season for you.
It is a festive season.
You can come back home.
Enjoy what belongs to you.
Don't only watch through the screens.
Through the lens.
On your television, on your phones.
Come. Be part of this.
You know the right person you can meet.
There are so many people.
When you come here, everyone is going to be running after you.
But I know you know the right person who is going to give you what you need.
Whenever I go into a place,
I try my best to find that person
who can give you the best.
Someone who is not going to cheat you.
You just tell that person
I am from eating the African way.
And you just know.
You watch the video and you want to get the same
experience, the same taste, the same foods.
I think I have talked enough.
Let us just eat.
I have never
tasted this but
let me see how it tastes.
This tastes like yogurt
mixed with millet flour.
Maybe I think
after mixing them together
they start to ferment and create that
fermentation
taste but it is a good one.
I recommend this.
I know for the whites
there are so many things you have not tasted
but when you come to Uganda
let me take control.
In case I am your food tour guide.
Let me take control.
Your work is to eat,
to sit somewhere and eat
whatever you find along the way.
Trust me.
I will not disappoint you.
You can also follow the steps
from this video at your homes.
Do the same thing.
Just do it
to introduce yourself
to what you are going to find when you come to this place.
I know they are not going to taste the same
because these people are experiencing this
for like a decade.
I used to think
a decade was thousands of years
but a decade is just 10 years
and these people have been here for more than 10 years.
I am one of those kids
who always enjoy eating baguio
so I can't leave this.
I can't give it to waste.
Thank you.
I don't want to make this so long
or to mess up all the food because I have to share it
and also I want to pass some
I think some will be my supper
or my evening
my dinner.
Let me just finish up with this.
Then we go to the next.
We have a grilled one
and also the deep fried one.
I know there is someone who
wanted to see how they do this
the deep fried one and this was a video for you.
If you are watching this
just know I was doing this for you.
If you don't come to Uganda
if you don't come to Uganda
where else are you going to go?
Let us be frank.
I think Uganda has millions
of things you can do.
Let us talk about food
talk about tourism attractions
talk about
the people.
We are one of the most hospitable
people
you are going to find in this world.
Trust me.
I need to taste the bitter berries
then we cover this up.
That is it for now.
Let us go to the next one. I don't want to make this video so long.
If I sit
this might end up in one hour.
Let us have those minutes. Everyone can watch
and also come back and share to others
to get some time and watch.
Let me just describe
something little about this.
When they mix everything together
there is that sweetness that
you taste when you are enjoying
this. The unending sweetness
and the bitter berries comes
and cleans
that sweetness.
Everything is good.
You may not always enjoy bitter berries
but everything is so
appetizing, so welcoming
so inviting.
Come and be part of this.
Oh my goodness.
I even don't know where to start from.
But everything we are going to
eat just a portion of it and then
pack.
I hope you are getting this. I want you to be
close to the table.
You see what
happens here.
I love the way they design their plates.
Just look at what we have here.
The texture of the fish.
The fries.
What we call chips in Uganda.
Lemon.
Let us find a way
we can eat this.
The way the lemon juice
does miracle into this.
Oh my goodness.
Imagine.
Being here
at this time with your family
enjoying this.
Oh my goodness.
In case you don't
eat fish, you don't eat berry
go to a restaurant.
They have varieties of food you can choose from.
This is what they do.
They roast chicken.
So you have plenty to choose from.
Not only fish in this place but also
it is a place of varieties.
Boat riding.
Everything in this place.
Imagine.
In the beginning
when we started doing
eating in that can where I used to sit
and eat all the food
then later I was told
it is not a must that you have to eat all the food
the way you have been doing.
You need to think about yourself.
Eat something then pack some and eat it later.
That is what I am doing.
I don't want to finish all the food.
In case you want to invite me to your home
I feel like.
Nicholas eats a lot of food.
Will you be in a position to
satisfy him?
Just know I can eat any amount
you put on my plate.
Any amount.
If it is less or a lot
I will eat it and be happy.
Let me also first taste this
before we go any further.
We have cassava.
I hope I am not going to sleep now.
And also I think lemon
doesn't miss.
Kachumbali.
I hope you can see the colours that are being reflected
from this plate.
From this tray.
Oh my goodness.
Maybe I don't know where to start from.
But
one thing I have seen
I think
grilled one
it looks like the one which is smoked
but this one
it was marinated.
There are some ingredients which are marinated
on this.
I think that makes it different.
They don't dry it so much
to look like the one which is smoked.
By the way when you come here
you can taste it and see the difference.
I know you will love it.
Let me first taste this.
But one thing I have seen
all their foods
they can be cooked well.
Because they have been in business for some time
everything can be cooked well.
You cannot complain.
You can't even find anything
that can make you complain
apart from the pork that was used in the recent video
but this time everything was cooked right.
I think we made our collection
and we passed all the questions.
But giving cassava to your friends at this time
You know someone told me
this cassava came from Portugal
and the reason why they brought cassava
is they wanted us to sleep.
I don't know if that is right but that is what was told to us.
Whenever you can eat cassava
you just fall asleep.
It was a sleeping dose.
I don't know if that is right
I am not saying this
on the bad side
but I just wanted to let you know
what our people used to think about cassava.
It is one of our local delicacies
we have in Uganda
which you will never miss in a village home.
Leave these town homes
where everything has become urban
but in the villages
cassava you will never miss
in the gardens, in their homes, in their kitchens
on their plates.
This is my brother who was behind the camera
Can you introduce yourself?
Hello
Hello guys
I am Jovan
You are always loud, what is happening?
You are Jovan?
I am Jovan
I am the last

I am always so grateful for that
because when you tell me
anything wrong we have done in this video
the next one, everything has to be perfect
everything has to be right
One of the reasons why I had to come back to this place
is I wanted to do things right
So, what else should we do?
I think that brings us to the end
of this video
I don't want to mess up our foods
I want to pack them
We will go edit this video
There is a video which is coming
before this one
So I want to go back, get done
and finish it today
We will premiere that video today
Some of you might be
Some of you are like, why don't you use both of your hands?
In Uganda
or in our culture
they train us not to use both hands
One hand is supposed to be in the plate
and the other hand
is supposed to be doing other stuff like
having a drink
or resting it somewhere
But these days I think I have
gone beyond my
my what?
My English has expired
Ose kaisi
Oruzungulu we deyat ose kere
So you can try this
Also that, after you pack it
we leave this place
But thank you so much for being
part of eating the African way
