The African continent has a total of 54 countries, each of these countries having its own capital city. A few of these countries even have more than one capital city. Though many of these countries are ranked as developing by the United Nations, their capital cities give a different story. Africa does not only have some of the most developed, but also some of the most beautiful cities in the world. Luanda, Angola Luanda, the capital city of Angola, provides an exotic city experience with beautiful sandy beaches, one of the best in the world. Located west of Angola, Luanda is a very beautiful city with streets lined with palm trees. Number 9. Abuja, Nigeria Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, is regarded as the most organized city in Africa. Located right at the center of Nigeria, Abuja has beautiful and well-developed architecture, including roads and buildings. Number 8. Windhoek, Namibia Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia, is a very unique city with a blend of both African and European cultures. The name Windhoek is translated from Afrikaans to mean windy corner. The city is also one of the cleanest cities on the continent. Number 7. Cairo, Egypt Cairo, the capital city of Egypt, is regarded worldwide as an archaeological heaven.
