Eat like the locals, and shop like the locals.
Best mangoes in the Philippines.
It's amazing.
One more.
Okay, one more taste.
I'm going right away.
That's Filipino humor right there.
Welcome to Manila.
Currently in Makati, I am here to visit the Salcedo Saturday Market.
One of those things that you have to experience is a Filipino food market.
I used to come here all the time, so it is literally the best local experience that you can have.
A lot of fresh fruits, a lot of delicious dishes.
Let's go.
Best mangoes in the Philippines, Gamadas mangoes.
Highly recommend.
So when I used to live in this area, I would come here and get the fresh produce from the market.
Because first of all, it comes straight from the farms, in most cases.
And it is way cheaper to shop here.
So definitely take advantage of all of these goodies here.
If you haven't tried it, this is acharang.
It is pickled papaya.
Goes really well with heavy dishes like kukbeni, I would say.
Also say hi to Pat.
Hi.
To my local friends.
For those who don't know.
Yeah, if you guys don't know.
By now, everybody knows Kat.
I hope so.
It's for the grilled meats, like a barbecue, iniyaw na baboy.
Those are like perfect.
And chicken inasal.
It's amazing.
One more.
I forgot the taste.
I forgot right away.
That's Filipino humor right there.
One thing that you will also find here at the market are a bunch of flowers.
Way more affordable than anywhere else.
I used to come here and just buy flowers for myself.
This is smoked meats.
Nice.
Not bad.
Super good.
We're trying cassava cake.
Grandma's recipe.
What's the name of your grandpa?
Lulu.
Okay.
Good?
Good, thank you.
So these are all home-cooked meals in the Philippines.
They have the, they're skirted currants.
Oh, it's nice that they have veggie options.
Ginataang kalabasa.
Mixed veggies.
Oh, green papaya.
Interesting.
Binapet.
Dinunggang.
Gopis giniling.
You can call it giniling.
Tortang kalang is so good.
Oops, sorry.
These are all Filipino staples.
You would find most of these dishes at karendarias.
Which are basically like restaurants by the road.
That are homemade and very affordable.
So a few things that you have to try in the Philippines.
Palitaw, bibingka, and putu bumbung.
This is usually around Christmas time.
Yes.
But we have it at the market as well.
It's very convenient.
It's made on these things here.
You get it very fresh.
Large.
And one large mango.
Salamat.
It's so difficult to get you in the...
Okay, we got our refreshments.
Fresh dalandan juice.
Fresh mango juice.
Super delicious.
And you definitely need to hydrate.
Because it's freaking hot in Manila.
I'm currently sweating.
You're sweating too.
I feel like I worked out.
I haven't really.
It's just I'm in the outfit.
Yeah.
No, it's super hot.
And you really need to make sure you stay in the shade.
And you stay hydrated at all times.
Because it can really get super hot.
And you can also buy some fresh fish here.
Even fresh chicken.
This is how it looks when you go to the market in the Philippines.
You even have some eggs in here.
It is quite an experience.
And I must say when you're here for the very first time.
It can be a little bit intimidating.
But trust me when I say eat like the locals.
And shop like the locals.
We have some grilled fish here.
Hello.
Grilled pork as well.
Very delicious.
This is the grilled fish, guys.
Wow.
Yum, Sara.
Okay.
So why would you say a foreigner should come here?
Why?
To this market?
Well, because, you know, it's like a good taste of different cuisine.
And especially Filipino food, of course.
And then if you're from somewhere.
So you can have the taste of home as well.
Yeah.
It's good.
Yeah.
They have international foods.
They have a lot of Filipino foods.
And then, you know, just a few products to try.
So it's a really, really nice experience.
It's very relaxed.
There are a lot of families here.
So definitely a place to come and visit while you are in Manila.
We all remember the time I walked away from a business I built for so many years.
I had a complete reset since then with my mindset, the way I approach things.
And I learned to work smarter and not harder.
And I'm dreaming big.
But sometimes you don't always have the resources to bring your ideas to life.
Until AI came around the corner.
All of a sudden, I felt like having superpowers.
Building an app, a website, or maybe even a cool digital product has become so easy.
Especially with today's video sponsor, Lovable.
Lovable is this amazing AI-powered platform that makes building personalized products so easy.
Even if you have absolutely no idea how to code.
I'm currently working on my passion project behind the scenes.
And all I have to do is to tell Lovable what I want.
Let's try it.
I'm building a website to offer my website courses for freedomcreatoracademy.co.
I need a website page that sells to women and evokes the desire to make a change in their lives.
Once I put the prompt in, their AI does the heavy lifting, creating something tailored to my needs.
If you want to adapt it, you can tell Lovable to just change colors or adjust visuals to your branding.
It's beginner-friendly, so you can focus on being fully creative instead of getting frustrated with learning how to code.
Or having to deal with communicating your ideas to developers, which is very time-consuming and it can get expensive.
I've been there, I've done that. It's definitely not easy.
So if you've got a big idea burning inside you that you want to bring to life, head over to lovable.dev.
The link is in the description.
Trust me, it's so much fun.
And it is empowering to see your vision coming to life within seconds.
Let me know in the comment section what you're going to create with Lovable.
And I would say that's it for today with Nelly's Life Hacks.
And now, back to the vlog.
Trust me when I say I had one of the best pizzas of my life here in Asia.
More specifically in Manila at Krosta.
And they won Best Pizza in Asia.
So I'm going to bring my friends here.
I mean, the locals know, but my boyfriend hasn't tried it yet.
So it's his first Krosta pizza. I'm very excited.
Okay, they're barely open and it's already getting packed here.
Everybody wants the pizza.
And they also haven't opened yet but have orders already rolling in for takeout.
I didn't intend.
I don't know how to get the pizza out really.
So much pressure.
Pressure.
Taste test.
Wow.
So good.
Wow.
Oh, man.
So, of course, with every visit to Manila, I have to come to Pelia's Kitchen
to have my lamb cumin noodles, dumplings, and cucumber salad.
And he just said it's better than China.
But it's like some amazing Chinese food in Manila.
Amazing Japanese food here as well.
So, yeah, this is always on my list when I come and visit.
By the way, the lobster roll here is super, super delicious.
So if you come, definitely get it.
The tacos here also yummy.
Okay, but the piranha plate, yum.
And then also what we just had was the cheesecake.
And it is so good.
Here it is.
El born.
This is the cheesecake.
It was so good.
Wow.
Also, I went for the original cheesecake, and it is highly, highly recommended.
It comes with lemon zest and crumbles on top.
Mm.
Highly recommend.
It's so good.
We have made our way to Uptown.
And, yeah, there are a few places that opened up just recently,
like a Harlan & Holden, and there's also a restaurant called Los Tacos,
which looks very, very promising.
I got it recommended by a follower of mine.
You guys know my taste, so I really love connecting with you on Instagram.
So, yeah, if you want to follow me there, give me a follow.
Otherwise, we're going to try the tacos and have some coffee
and just enjoy the day in BGC, I guess.
By the way, the restaurant is a little bit hidden right next to Harlan & Holden.
You have to go through this hallway right here.
Los Tacos was definitely worth a try.
I will go back and have dinner there for sure.
If you want to give it a try, it's right here in the back of Harlan & Holden in Uptown.
And now we're just going for some coffee because...
