Hi everyone, welcome back to my channel.
If you're new here, I'm Courtney Ryan.
And today I thought it would be really helpful for you guys
since I'm doing the giveaway with teddybaldassar.com
to kind of go through some different styles of watches
I think every guy should have.
So by no means are watches something that you need,
but I really like them.
I think they're beneficial to have
and I think they make not only a great accessory,
but also a functional piece.
I know that with our cell phones or Apple Watches
or whatever, you can always kind of tell the time
and you don't really need it for the function
as much as a style accessory.
However, I have found myself in some situations in my life
when I was really glad that I was wearing a watch
and I know that all of you guys might feel that way too.
So I know watches are a very niche group
and it's something that you guys get very into.
So I thought it would be interesting for me
to kind of run through three different styles of watches
that I think regardless of what type of guy you are,
there's going to be a watch out there for you.
Of course, this is going to depend more specifically
on your lifestyle, what you find yourself wearing
and doing on a daily basis,
but whatever that looks like for you,
there's going to be something on this list for everyone.
Just to give you an example, if you never dress up,
you should never buy a dress watch
because you're not going to be in a situation
when you would need one.
If you're someone that dresses very casual,
that is maybe living a more rugged lifestyle,
maybe you like to hike and be outdoors all the time,
you might want something like a Hamilton khaki field.
So you're not going to want like a Langa or a Patek Philippe
if you're someone that hikes all the time,
it just doesn't make any sense.
So you're going to want to find something
that fits with your lifestyle
and so that you can get the most use out of it.
If you're someone who really enjoys watches
and you like to have a variety
and maybe not just one watch necessarily,
you might find yourself wanting a watch
from each one of these categories and that's totally fine.
I personally have a watch in all these categories.
So I've broken this down into three different categories
and that is the everyday watch, the sports watch
and the dress watch because I think those are the most broad
that I can really get.
The different watches that are in each category,
something out there is going to work for you.
I promise there is a watch on this list for everyone.
So let's get started.
Number one, we have your everyday watch.
So like I said before,
this is going to depend on your lifestyle,
what you find yourself wearing and doing on a daily basis.
This is a category that I think
is a little bit more casual,
but some of the watches I chose can be dressed up or down,
which just adds another sense of versatility
and helps you get your money's worth out of it.
So some of these I would consider very casual,
others I would consider watches
that you could dress up or down,
which I really love
because you're getting kind of that two-in-one.
So some of the watches specifically
that I think would be great for this category
are the Hamilton Khaki Field.
That one's very casual.
You could wear that to run errands,
to go for a hike, outdoor activities,
all that good stuff.
The Bowl of a Hack,
the Tissot Gentleman Powermatic,
the Tissot PRX.
The Tissot PRX is a little bit more sporty
with its bracelet,
but I think both of those Tissots
could easily be dressed up or down.
They're one of my favorites
that Teddy offers on his website.
I absolutely adore both of them.
I think they would be a great choice
because like I said,
they do give you that versatility factor
that maybe a Hamilton Khaki Field would not.
So that's a great watch
if you're someone who likes outdoors,
who would find yourself hiking
or just being a little bit more rugged.
If you don't mind getting your watch beat up a little bit,
that would be a great watch for you.
It's a lot more versatile and casual to me
than a Tissot PRX or a Tissot Powermatic,
something like that.
So some other watches I have on here
are the Oris Big Crown Pointer Date,
or if you're very casual,
I would say even this is more casual
than the Hamilton Khaki Field
is a Casio or a G-Shock.
If you really want that extra durability,
if you're someone that likes to be outside,
you're doing tons of like water activities
or hiking or camping or whatever it is.
If you're an outdoorsy guy,
it makes sense that you would get something
that reflects that.
So a Casio, a G-Shock,
the Hamilton Khaki Field,
I feel like would be a good option for that too.
It kind of fits the part,
but just something that mirrors
what you do on a daily basis.
If you work in an office,
maybe one of the Tissots would be a good option
or the Bulova, something like that,
that just makes more sense.
Number two, we have the sports watch.
So there are a ton of different categories
that kind of fit into this one
or just watches in general,
but I think most specifically here,
when you think of a sport watch,
you kind of think of a dive watch.
So these are typically going to have
the best specifications for water resistance
in order to withstand that wear and tear.
So if you're someone that finds yourself
in situations like that,
I feel like a lot of people that get dive watches
aren't actually diving.
I feel like that's kind of a rare thing to be doing,
but if you're someone that's in the water a lot,
you like to go kayaking, whatever,
and you don't want to risk ruining your watch,
then a dive watch would probably be
a good option for you.
So some of these, again, can be dressed up or down.
It might be a little bit taboo,
but I love the look of a sports watch
with a suit or just dressing it up a little bit.
I think it adds that very masculine,
powerful look to an outfit.
I like wearing these type of watches even.
I like a bigger watch on my wrist these days.
I used to really gravitate towards
the feminine, very dainty watches,
and while I still love those,
I'm a sucker for the diamonds
and just the feminine aspects of a smaller watch,
but I do like the way a bigger watch looks sometimes.
I think it can really add a nice balance
of the feminine and the masculine to an outfit of mine.
So I love a couple of these watches.
A couple of these that I have on this list
are my absolute favorites.
So just going through the list here,
I have an Orient Kamasu, an Orient Kano,
a Seiko Turtle, the Oris Aquis.
I love that one.
The Rado Captain Cook is probably my all-time favorite.
I have been dying to have one.
I keep giving Teddy little hints
that I want one for myself,
so maybe he'll finally get the hint,
but the Rado Captain Cook,
I absolutely love that one.
It could work for men or women.
They have a smaller version and a bigger version,
so whether you're a man or a woman watching,
there's a size that would work for you.
I know people talk about not putting genders on watches.
For me specifically, my wrist is kind of small,
so if I wear a very big watch, it's uncomfortable.
I get little imprints from the crown.
It's just not something that I enjoy wearing.
I know some women probably don't care,
but for me, it's uncomfortable,
so I want that smaller option.
Some other options here would be
the Bolivar Devil Diver, the Omega Seamaster,
or the Tudor Black Bay, which has stolen my heart recently.
I tried it on, and I love the Tudor Black Bay,
so definitely a great option.
I know not all of these are available on teddyvaldasar.com,
but I just wanted to sprinkle in
some other ones that I love as well.
And lastly, we have the dress watch category.
This is the watch you're gonna choose
if you're getting a little bit dressed up,
if you're going to an event like a wedding
or something else fancy, if you're in a suit,
if you're just wearing something very nice
that you want your watch to compliment that,
I think a dress watch is a great option.
If you're a guy who gets dressed up
every single day for work,
then a dress watch would be a great option
for you to choose as your everyday watch.
So it really is gonna depend on your lifestyle.
The everyday watch category
might not be the best option for you.
Maybe the dress watch category would be.
So really, again, I just wanna reiterate,
it does depend on you, your style,
what you prefer, and your lifestyle.
I really love dress watches.
I think they're often more sleek,
a little bit more fancy,
and really just the perfect arm candy
to compliment that perfect fitting suit
that I mentioned so much on this channel.
So some options for a dress watch here.
I'm gonna give a little bit of a variety.
Some of these are affordable.
Some of these are more expensive.
I'm not saying you should all be able to afford
a Rolex or a Patek Philippe
or something like that,
but that is attainable for some of you.
So I wanna be able to give you guys some options.
Regardless of what price point you need,
regardless of what your budget is,
there's gonna be something on this list for everyone.
So we have the Timex Marlin.
We have the Nomos Orion, which I absolutely love.
The Young Hans, Hamilton and Traumatic Champagne,
a JLC Reverso.
There are so many amazing watches out there,
dress watches, sport watches, everyday watches.
If it didn't make it on this list,
I don't want you guys to think
that I don't like that watch
or that it's not a good watch.
I just wanted to give a couple examples of each category
so that you guys could kind of visualize
the differences between them.
Because I know not all of you have the same taste
and I want there to be something,
you know, on this list for everyone
or something that you see that you like.
So even if it is out of your price range,
you could find something cheaper
that works for your budget.
Whatever it is, I think there's something
on this list for everyone.
If you're a one watch kind of guy,
I would say finding something
that is an everyday watch for you
would be the smartest option.
If you're someone who's looking at this,
like Courtney, I do not want three different watches
for three different situations.
I never dress up or I never am diving
or doing anything sporty
and I don't like that look,
then an everyday watch would work for you.
And it's gonna depend, like I said,
on your lifestyle, your preferences,
what you kind of prefer look-wise,
what you find yourself wearing every day,
what goes with the things you wear.
You know, there's so many factors
that go into choosing a watch.
And if you have more specific questions,
you can comment down below
and I can try to help or get Teddy's help.
But teddybottlestar.com offers a ton of amazing watches
and the giveaway form is down below also
if you haven't filled that out already.
I'm giving away a watch from his website up to $1,000.
So I'm gonna let the giveaway go a little bit longer.
I'll probably announce it sometime this month,
probably later in the month.
So be sure to enter into that giveaway.
Let me know what you guys think of this video.
I am by no means a watch expert.
These are just the different categories
that I think would be helpful for you guys to understand
and to maybe find something in each one
that you would like to have.
